Honestly, without an easy way of even activating temporary powers (like a moveable 5 icon bar where you can drag in temp powers or something), there’s no real point in using them without fiddling with the inventory while fighting.

If these kits weren’t intended for use in PvE content, and just for novelty, maybe it’s better off if it’s removed from the game completely.

You can’t really call it incest with Sylvair either because they don’t view one another as brothers and sisters and they don’t reproduce. They’re plants not mammals, don’t try and prescribe human traits on them (other than what they have already prescribed onto themselves)

Unfortunately, it’s a bit hard to get rid of the incest notion as the Pale Tree specifically refers to all sylvari as her children in a literal manner, not just a paternal figure. Siblings do exist, as Caithe in Beneath a Cold Moon specifically refers to Trahearne as her brother:

Caithe: The undead dragon at the heart of the cursed land of Orr. Only two living creatures have ever seen it: myself and my brother Trahearne.

Either way, it’s a moot point, as Sylvari cannot breed anyway.

Well, except for the Pale Tree, if she counts as a Sylvari, even if she is unique. Self-pollination happens in nature too. XD

It’s like how on the temple heavy armor, there’s no pow/tough/vit head piece. If you want to complete your look, get the pieces, and transmute them with dungeon gear.

Thanks to this thread, I even started work on a deathlist of NPCs who die in GW2, haha.

Just updating to say mission is working, but this might be due to soloing it rather than being in a team. o_O

So does this affect harpy behavior towards the player if used? XD Like will the harpies become neutral towards the player? Haha.

The mission Armor Guard: Escort the Pact tanks to the Cathedral of Zephyrs is still bugged – in the mission, you have to talk to one of the NPCs to continue the mission, but they’re in an area with infinite spawning Risen and as a result, cannot talk to you.

Incidentally, are you wearing white, blue, green, or yellow rated armor?

I think another reason for Sieran’s death is that she wasn’t even really afraid of dying that much, after everything she went through with the player. Heck, one of her last quotes was wondering what the Mists would be like, and it would be an adventure to go there.

I’m just wondering if anyone has found any method of measuring your characters’ heights against each other, other than finding a static NPC, measuring all your characters’ heights against it, screenshot all your characters from character select, and playing with resizing to estimate the height compared to said static NPC?

Sadly, it seems arenanet gave us no way of comparing our characters’ heights as the character select screen automatically resizes all racial male and female heights to the same height, haha.

Haha, that would be great. Maybe one dodge removes 3 stacks of burning. So, if you were inclined, you could dodge twice and use up your stamina, but at least you’ve got rid of 6 stacks of burning.

As a warrior there is no way i would go into a dungeion without my elite skill warbanner.

Isn’t the battle standard gained from skill points and not from traits?

Anyway, for me, grandmaster book is only for me if I plan to put more than 20 points into a specific trait.

Also, buy the basic manual from TP, it’s always cheaper than 10 silver. The other two, always buy from the vendor, it’s always cheaper than the TP.

I would like sword and dagger to be given to every class, both main hand and offhand pairs. They are basically the most ‘basic’ fantasy weapons that I feel all classes should have access to, haha. Heck, you saw Gandalf using a sword, didn’t you? XD

Like every other thief, I was inspired right from the character creation screen… and because I didn’t want a trenchcoat, haha.

My human thief is a street rat, who’s been raised to a position he never expected as a member of the Pact, so while his gear reflects his somewhat humble beginnings, they’re also new and stand out (as uncomfortable as it is, considering his profession).

Gear if I remember off the top of my head:

Head: original thief hood (not shown)
Shoulders: CM dungeon shoulders (also found as personal story reward)
Chest: Duelist exotic
Arms: AC dungeon gloves (may change this to the Inquest ones in future)
Leggings: Duelist exotic
Boots: Noble (crafted rare)

Incidently, I love my Ebon Vanguard shortbow and hope it never gets ‘fixed’.

Joining multiple guilds is fine, the real problem is communication. Guild Wars 2 needs to allow the ability to make chat channels which are basically open all the time regardless of what you represent, or if you’re even in the same guild or not. And yes, you can put yourself on hide if you don’t feel like showing your presence.

This is one of the things I miss from City of Heroes.

Knights (pow/prec/tough) can only be crafted, I think. Luckily, exotic crafted light armor doesn’t look too bad (unlike medium armor, haha), but I know the look isn’t for everyone.

From what seems to be implied on this thread is, you guys are waiting for downed players to die before resurrecting them to be legit, haha.

Discovered this guide a while ago and elementalist became fun again, haha.

I’m currently level 41, and wondering if a pair of level 80 exotic berserker daggers I have stored away (they’re the non-precursor ones shaped like a sai) will be suitable for general PvE/Dungeons/Fractals usage, or if I should go soldiers for them along with the armor? Do I lose too much stat potential if the weapons are berserker?

Either way, if it doesn’t really matter too much, then I already have a pair of daggers waiting for me which I won’t need to transmute, haha.

I play characters which are both male and female. I like how each gender has their own looking armors and stuff.

Since I don’t view the characters as ‘me’, but more as products of my imagination, it’s fine. I don’t need to only play characters of my own gender because I’m uncomfortable in my sexuality or for whatever lame reason.

There needs to be horrible skills so people are encouraged to pick the more better skills.

Sadly, I’m only half joking here.

Get a second staff, so you can have both sigils. Equip the one with Sigil of Bloodlust first, once you have 25 stacks, switch to the second staff with either Sigil of Force or the other which has been suggested, Sigil of Battle.

No on levels.

But if you want to give me say, ten more extra trait points, I’m okay with that.

Kiku Hiiragi – female elementalist, canthan (one japanese style name)
Xiuying Ren – female engineer, canthan (and one chinese style name, haha)

When it comes to getting something, people want to see how it’s done in order to find strategies or tactics on getting it faster/easier. With your method, while it would possibly be fun, it’s also blind guess work, which not many people like, haha.

I’m thinking about that combo too of 0/10/0/30/30, with daggers in PvE, and wondering on trinkets as well as weapons, haha.

I actually have two berserker daggers (pow/prec/crit) waiting for me at 80, but elementalists should focus more on condition damage?

I’m thinking for 80, I should try to obtain the ascended trinkets which are ‘celestial’ (all stats) since I honestly don’t know what to focus on, haha.

… for underwater usage only. What do you guys like to use? It does not have to be restricted to thief only skills, list racial elite skills if you prefer them instead.

As soon as my thief obtained that jacket, I knew I had to roll an engineer. Grabbed a set of boots while I was in Orr, transmuted both of them to become account bound, and passed them to a new Canthan-themed engineer (I have a Krytan warrior, Ascalonian mesmer and thief, Elonan guardian, and Canthan elementalist). She’s only level 8, and I’m already contemplating on getting her all of her endgame appearance skins already, haha.

One thing to try is to stick a basic gem or something into the starter piece. When you combine them, then you can choose the superior item (in this case, the rune) to keep.

I didn’t particularly get Tonn’s death. How is he considered an ‘innocent’ when he’s a full fledged member of the pact, enjoys blowing up buildings with explosives, likes hanging around other races such as Charr without any complaints (he even compliments them), invading Inquest labs, etc? He’s pretty much a soldier on the front lines (in fact, even behind enemy lines, haha).

Apatia’s final mission however, really got to me. Even when you ‘free her’, she still doesn’t attack you and just stands there wobbling, and that soft music is playing in the background. Didn’t help that I just played the Walking Dead, haha.

So, while some deaths are a bit naff, such as Tonn (he didn’t even die onscreen, nor is he an innocent), some can be done right. Maybe I’m just influenced by zombie turned deaths, haha.

It’s the two most biggest complaints about FotM dungeon, the inability to rejoin your party if you accidentally disconnect, and the level restriction. If you don’t like it, play ironman rules where if someone leaves, they’re not allowed to rejoin or something.

I’ve never relied on the colours to do this. I just think of the 8 lanes as piano keys, left four for left hand (1-4), right four for right hand (6-9). Heck, the window of instructions tells you to adjust the camera view to what suits you best.

Well, if you go by fantasy units… the max range of a warrior’s rifle is 1200… ears.

I liked the concept of henchmen and heroes back in Guild Wars 1. It kinda fit the title too, having your own “guild” with you (even if they are computer controlled) even if you played on your own.

Now in Guild Wars 2, all that’s really reflecting the title is occasional references to the “guild wars” of the past between the three main human kingdoms and the ‘wars’ between members in the premier guild Destiny’s Edge (who named it that? I bet it was probably Caithe!).

If they brought back NPC allies actually following you as part of your team in some form or another, I wouldn’t mind that much (give them the ability to resurrect themselves after 15 seconds of defeat or something). It could just be restricted to maybe two followers or something, who immediately disband and leave if a real player character joins the party.

I mean if say, my male warrior joined Vigil, and wants to check out light and medium armor in case some of my other male characters wish to join Vigil later.

I want preview back as well please. I wanna check out order gear for other alts who have yet to join an order and I can’t do that if the option isn’t available!

Unless the maximum for tokens when deposited is increased, there won’t be that much point in depositing 250 tokens when it costs more than that to buy a piece of armor or weapon, let alone an entire set.

All I see from a majority of posts is “welcome to GW2 where you’re not allowed to have fun.”

Why can’t a team of 5signet warriors try something just for fun?

Best part about AC dungeon is you can buy pow/vit/tough armor from it with enough tokens.

If it’s your first time in a dungeon, this is where you’ll get introduced to elite/silver mobs (either name describes them well enough). They’re generally a mix between veterans (bronze) and champions (gold), and you’ll have to fight them in numbers at times. Some teams will use call target for everyone to focus attacks on to bring them down quicker, this is usually indicated by a character vocally saying something (human males will probably say “Attack my target” and the text window at the bottom left will indicate it too, along with the target in question receiving a red reticle.

So my mesmer uses clones to do bleeding attacks on critical hits via a trait.

1. Do clones inherit condition damage stat from their caster (from caster’s armor and weapons) to bulk up the damage they do with their bleeds?
2. After casting, if I weapon swapped to say, something without condition damage (one example, from a Rampager staff to a Berserker greatsword), do the clones do reduced damage on their bleeds or do they keep what stats they had at the time they were summoned?

Rather than make new dances for new races, I want a new batch of dances to be available for all races (though minor adjustments may have to be made for each race due to physical differences). They could simply be activated by a number on the end of ‘dance’. So basically:

/dance2
/dance3

etc. Then each dance could be a number of different things, including the gangam style thing. You could throw in cheesy dance routines from korean pop music or the monkey dance thing from Johnny Bravo, or Michael Jackson dances, haha.

Or it could just be that the computer is old like mine is. Loading takes even longer the more densely populated the zone is, aka Lion’s Arch.

I’d like the idea if only the interest thing started to degrade the more gold you have in storage (say… from 10 gold) until you eventually don’t earn any interest (maybe at 50 gold).

So when you join a team, your little black box in the left side of the screen gains friends with profile pictures who show off their signets and buffs and conditions.

My little black box is feeling underdressed and short! How about if you happen to join a team, your black box turns into the same size as the team boxes and shows off their picture, buffs and stuff too? I don’t care if the buffs are already show in the bottom right of the screen, if I’m checking to the left at the team’s buffs and conditions when in combat, I might as well have the ability to look at mine too at the same time and have a picture of myself to look at.

It’s not like there isn’t enough room, we’ll only ever have five people in a team, so it’s not like GW1 where we need to find room on our screens to add in three hero bars with their skills and stuff.

Attached is a picture to show what I’m talking about. The arrow can still be there and the icons can be displayed on the right of them.

So, arenanet, how about it? Possible patch for the future?

So mesmer players who opt for Rabid gear generally tend to go completely for that along with trinkets and backpack as well and ignore vitality?

I’m looking for some help in picking the correct stat armor and trinket choices, as I’m slowly approaching level 80 (currently level 62).

My current build is as follows:
10/20/20/0/20

Main traits in my build involve illusions able to do bleed damage on criticals, dodge roll to spawn clones, extra bounce for staff, and probably faster sword action.

My main weapons of choice is sword/focus (or pistol for optional choice) and staff. I am planning to get the other weapons a mesmer can use as well as a second sword, but I plan to specialize in the above choices.

Ideally, I guess I’m looking for a condition build, though it appears I can do a berserker build too to swap to when I want variation. However, I don’t want to be too fragile, haha. So, any recommendations for combined gear? I was planning on the majority being Rabid armor but then I realised I would have to farm either HotW/CM/TA/Arah a lot, haha. I will if I have to, but I want to look at other options first.

So… any help?
