Few days on, still bugged
Now that we have living story elements which scale depending on team right down to one player, how about making Arah story able to scale down to one player?
This is mainly due to Arah story being connected to the personal story – as such, it’s a requirement to finish off a personal story on any one character. Due to the smaller rewards from it, experienced people who have done Arah story will have no interest in it as it does not give tokens of any kind.
Leaving the explorable paths for Arah is fine as it is, it’s just story I’m concerned about. :o
Problem is Covington doesn’t particularly scale well with less players, so she can down players in a couple of seconds or less, and has boatloads of HP. While you can use explosive barrels after she teleports to reduce her HP a lot, there’s none near the start… or is there any outside the area where you can use them to blow up the gate if you failed to do it manually?
I have checked this site for the last 7 straight days. Balth is never open it seems. Players complaining the event is bugged and never becomes uncontested.
Check from 17:00 server time onwards.
The problem is that it’s not bugged, it’s simply just really hard due to Orr mob scaling (where the more players there are the more higher rank the mobs spawn) as well as players just autoattacking. Enemies like the risen subjugators will drop wells which drain npc life really quick and even more so if they spawn as champions. It also doesn’t help that npcs don’t share the player aoe caps of five targets, so two subjugators can pretty much instantly wipe the npcs’ morale if players don’t CC the risen in time.
Got this message today repeatedly about 20 minutes ago. I can go ingame, but can’t join teams from other servers for dungeons/fractals.
Tried restarting client, tried rebooting, tried restarting router, no go. :o
Don’t have Dawn of the Season, though I’ve started work on getting other achievements. :o
With the introduction of more and more ways to attain ascended gear, BUY-4373 in the Fractals of the Mist needs to add a 20 Slot Fractal Ascended Equipment Box to its list of things to exchange using relics.

I have no idea how Asurans fit their three toes in some of those boots shaped for human feet. (See: many of the dungeon armor sets.)
Look up the Cinderella variation story Aschenputtel by the Grimm brothers, in particular how the stepsisters tried to get their feet to fit in the glass slipper.
Now that Tequatl’s time is totally random and super long, it appears trying to wait for Tequatl is pretty much over as nobody would be willing to just wait for him to spawn.
Could the time limit for Tequatl to run away perhaps be increased as players spawn into the map and have to rebuild all the broken turrets and break down the wall before they can even start?
Update for new patch – the three infinite tools were updated to match the bone pick’s rare. Arenanet were probably planning on doing this anyway, but I can pretend they totally listened to my suggestion and implemented it.
Those with 3 gifts but no precursor are like people buying 4 tires and waiting to win the Ferrari in a lottery.
I finished my three gifts, and am slowly working my money up to buy the precursor. I think of it as a time limit, if the precursor manages to drop before I attain my target (and maybe 10-20 gold extra to give myself some legroom afterwards), then yay.
If both models are exactly the same save for appearance and animation effect, just upgrade the former three infinite tools to rare, or downgrade the bone pick to masterwork. Simple solution. :o
I like the idea of mystic forge recipe: Four ascended rings gives you a ring with stats you can pick one time only like the former magic find rings.

Was an extremely good time for warriors to be popping vengeance at that final part, haha. About 4 seconds after Taco went down, I dropped as well due to hitting vengeance. XD
Please have them favor going after AFK players with an attack which launches them right over to a different waypoint before going after turrets/batteries/laser.
I’d rather have all animations for skill 1 changing depending on what is in offhand. If a non-offensive weapon such as a focus or shield is in the offhand, then skill 1 stays the same. If an offensive weapon is in offhand such as a sword, then skill 1 incorporates the use of the offhand into the attacking chain while keeping the same animation timing and attack type.
For example, if a warrior was using an axe in mainhand and a sword in offhand, Double Chop (the second chain attack) is done with the sword instead, but remains the same damage type (two hits, no conditions).

What’s going on with the sound when fighting Shatterer? I was told I’m just not used to this sound, but I’m pretty sure there wasn’t this sound of hail hitting car roof when fighting Shatterer pre-patch? o_O
5 people can rez you from fully dead in 15 seconds. it takes 1 minute to walk back. Until people learn to rez EVERYONE we probably won’t win the fight.
5 people not attacking in 15 seconds is 75 seconds.
1 person running back is 60 seconds.

A note on Mesmers. The game designers stated around the time of the release of the mesmer that the clones and illusions were at least intended to be a visual manifestation of what was happening in GW1. In other words, these clones/illusions may have still existed, it was just assumed in GW1 that they were in the mind of the enemy and were not visible to anyone else.
I’m still trying to get around how a mesmer convinces a wooden door it is being attacked by a figment of its imagination.
I just wanted the Pirate runes to actually make you say “Yarr” as it said in the rune description bonus:
- 5% chance to shout Yarr and grant Might to nearby allies when hit. (cooldown: 10s)
Instead, character just shouts “For great justice”.
So, I put four major runes into the mystic toilet and rolled a superior rune of the monk… which is SOULBOUND. On a character who doesn’t need it.
Please enable dungeon runes which are obtained via drops or from the mystic forge to be account-bound/soulbound on use instead of soulbound on acquire. Dungeon runes which are bought from vendor can stay soulbound on acquire. I get that arenanet doesn’t want dungeon runes to be available on the market and I’m fine with that. I just want the ability for one of my other characters to use a potentially good drop instead of the character who received it not being able to use it and having to sell or delete it.
The only purpose to level up Jewelry at the moment is if you’re aiming for a legendary which requires Jewelry in the gift.
I presume somewhere along the way, Jewelry will probably be able to craft ascended trinkets, but it might only be limited to the backpack.
Reason why I didn’t pick one is because all the artwork for Charr have them standing upright and huge, and then ingame, they are permanently hunchback.
Secondly is the level issue, a jug of karma gives a different value on a lv20 than a lv80. So removing the jugs would make that account reward of karma you got on your lv20 worth a lot less than if you could transfer then use it on your lv80.
This is not true. A jug of karma provides 6750 regardless of level.
I still haven’t seen any reason why we still need to have these.
Good news for you (and bad news for everyone else), they can only be obtained from Achievement chests now.

Has the new stats for superior rune of the traveler been interesting enough for usage in anyone’s elementalist build?
Just to remind people so they don’t need to look it up:
(1): +10 to All Stats; +2% Critical Damage
(2): +15% Boon Duration
(3): +10 to All Stats; +2% Critical Damage
(4): +10% Condition Duration
(5): +10 to All Stats; +2% Critical Damage
(6): +25% Movement Speed

Sounds like these mats are actually worth farming now… maybe go farm them? I beleive there are 10 nodes available to you of both resources every 24 hours. At a minimum that is 30 ore and 30 wood per character per day.
In two of the Orr maps, you have 4 orichalcum nodes and 2 orrian wood nodes. In Southsun and Frostgorge, you have 2 orichalcum and 2 ancient wood.
My suggestion is to add two extra orrian wood nodes into the two Orr maps to balance it out, and possibly introduce “wood stumps” which is like a rich sapling version from the metal ore nodes, haha.

Then 2% boon duration on the chest, head and leggings, with 1% on rings, and 2% condition duration on the arms, feet and mantle, and 1% on accessories, and 1% of each on the amulet. :o With weapons, it’s 1% of each.
So when the patch hits, Celestial gear will have magic find removed. Please consider replacing magic find with boon duration rather than nothing at all. How much? That should probably be left to Arenanet to decide. Maybe 3% on arm/leg/mantle and 5% on head/chest/legs? I dunno. :o It would be better than saying “Celestial gear has MF removed and replaced with nothing”.
One way to do it is as soon as the backup enemy bar ticks to 0, they despawn from entire map, rather than hanging around. This includes the map enemy bar as well, when that goes, all of groups despawn from map. Granted, this makes it ‘easier’, but would stop excessive farming.
Actually for me, when ascended trinkets came out, exotic trinkets suddenly became a waste of time and money to craft. Even to this day, not one of my characters has full ascended trinkets, nor do they have exotic trinkets (with exception of thief who already had crafted exotic rings).
BUT… considering the time that ascended weapons will take for just a SINGLE ONE, I think all eight of my alts can make do with multiple exotic weapons for now.
Doesn’t Superior Sigil of Bursting have +6 condition damage? Or is it a typo on the sigil and the ingame text is missing the “%”?
Elementalist and Guardian are generally the top two considered for celestial due to their making use of every stat. Engineer is probably third.

The red tassel on the dagger disappears when viewed from the right side and front when in combat stance. Basically, you can only see it from behind or from the left side of the character, upon which it just disappears. Apparently, this happens with some other weapons too, such as the axe.
My recommended fix is to use the tassel from the scepter. Granted, it’s a bit bigger, but it doesn’t suffer from the problems the smaller ones have.
Please make it so it acts like orichalcum node – you require an orichalcum pickaxe, and it can only be mined once a day as usual, but any of your characters can mine it – providing they can hold orichalcum pickaxe or similar. This would prevent people from making alts just to mine it, and since quartz crystals is only used to convert into charged quartz to make level 80 gear, it wouldn’t be gamebreaking at all. :o
Regarding the use of black lion pickaxes – that is at the player’s discretion if they wish to use it, since it is a gemstore purchase and random reward from daily/black lion chest.

While the colours in preview indicate the ‘underwear’ part is the same colour as part of the skirt, at night, the colour is different to the rest of the white on the character model.

Prior to current patches, there was a visible line across the stomach when wearing either:
- Predatory Vest
- Wolfborn Leggings
When worn together, the gap would be big enough that you could actually see the background behind the character through the gap.
So, post-patch.
Pic 1 shows when not wearing any top or leggings. There is no line on the stomach.
Pic 2 is wearing Wolfborn Leggings. The line on the stomach is faint, but noticeable.
Pic 3 is wearing Predatory Vest. The line on the stomach is more faint, but is still visible.
Pic 4 is both worn together. The line seems to combine the two together.
Although an attempt was done to fix it, ideally, the line shouldn’t even be there and should show a stomach like picture 1. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next major patch update.
While I can’t solve the problem of seeing the boulders rolling down, they do at least still leave a trail of fire, right? Try to use that to time your running.

When in combat pose, the metal on the magitech armguard is visible from the blocking side of the shield (pic1). It is worth noting that the magitech armguard hands have a metal covering which isn’t just a skin on the hand, but it actually sticks out a bit like a technological version of a gauntlet (pic2).

Next thing you know, people will be asking for the removal of the ability to resurrect people unless they specifically slot a skill for it.
It’s already a rare chance to even get a scrap (which 10 will make one ticket), let alone a ticket on its own. Whatever was done about how black lion keys used to commonly be randomly obtained as a reward from black lion chests, it was pretty much removed.
I reported that here as well, complete with pic. As others have made their own topics as well, I’m guessing the devs know. :o
I don’t think all the items crafted will be account bound…..most likelly soulbound on use (like most high level crafted stuff now).
Ascended weapons and armor will remain account-bound like other ascended gear.
Also, isn’t the celestial gear, which are just exotic, also account bound?
Celestial gear is one of those examples which breaks the rules. Or, it’s probably because it uses account-bound materials (Charged Quartz Crystal) to craft, thus the end result is account-bound.
How I normally transmute items to make them account bound:
- Appearance item (which is usually soulbound), and white or blue item which is the same, usually very lower level, and obtain from vendor or TP
- Put both in bank, keep bank window open
- Activate transmutation crystal (if appearance item is 80) or use stone from inventory
- Pull both items into transmutation window, keep appearance item’s look, white/blue item’s stats, and since the statted item is low, dismiss slotted sigil or gem
- Combine and account-bound item should be stored in the bank where either one used to be
