OK, I’m just gonna say it. I fell for this. Saw it in my spam folder and boom. I never get scammed and yet there it is.

So now what do I do? I changed my email and password. and all passwords similar across different accounts. No credit card was linked to it. Am I safe?

Contact Arenanet and tell them your account might be compromised? Also run virus checkers just in case?

My warrior’s normal armor is:
gauntlets, shoulders, boots = berserker
helmet, chest, leggings = knights
Runes: Soldier runes x 6

He also has full soldier armor (temple armor) with soldier runes, and MF rare armor with 5 pirate runes, 1 traveller rune.

Long as you carry multiple armors, then you’re covered, haha.

1: Have 8 character slots at the bottom to represent all 8 professions before character scrolling.
2: Allow players to organize character order instead of whoever was last played. If you wish for character details, then use the left side of the screen and have a box with some character details like “last played date and time” and “age”.
3: Have the character figure show back detail.
4: Scale the characters accordingly to their heights from character creation. As it stands, my warrior and thief appear the exact same heights on character select screen despite my warrior being taller in-game.
5: Have a button to display all your characters next to each other with their heights for comparison’s sake. I don’t want to be manually making pictures like second pic attached just because this game doesn’t have that sort of feature, haha.

The only way to ‘salvage’ runes in karma armor is to transmute them onto normal gear, and only keep the rune component from the karma armor, haha. If your gear is under level 80, then using one of the cheap transmute stones should be easy, but if it’s 80… ugh. XD

World Bosses - Increase Health

@IceBlink, the only time I have seen people around raiding those bosses at the relevant level was during launch. I agree adding health is just adding to the problem. ArenaNet needs to figure out how to clear large scale zergs with compelling tactical thought, that DOES NOT involve constant stunning or knockbacks.

That’s why I kinda like SB’s red circles which don’t activate immediately, but as soon as they do, players shouldn’t be standing in them (currently, players stand in them due to negligible damage which people ignore or regen back). It would be a good time to have them do pulsing fear or confuse (when you activate a skill, you take damage to yourself) when the damage starts after a second when the circles appear as a training thing (due to being starting area), and to test players who do high damage (overlevelled players). The damage is avoided easily by not being in the red circles. There is tons of room to move around, so for players who aren’t half asleep, it shouldn’t be an issue.

I wish Rox’s Treat Bag’s had a mystic forge recipe to turn it into a 20 slot bag, but as it stands, 12 slots is worthless, since all of my characters have 15 slot bags, haha.

World Bosses - Increase Health

The large red circles for the Shadow Behemoth should be one shots or hell near one shots, also the portals should spawn champions.

They had that problem when Shadow Behemoth was first put in, I think, and for a starter area, it was considered to be too overpowered (same sort of thing for fire elemental, who had tons of high levelled mobs which kept wiping players).

Adding health doesn’t always work since the more players there are, it will just go down as fast due to scaling. Adding artificial super armor like Claw of Jormag has when not stunned isn’t always a good thing too, haha.

One thing I can think of is to copy certain mechanics from other world bosses, or something similar without resorting to one-hit kills…

Shadow Behemoth: The giant red circles do damage, but insignificant to a point where people don’t even bother to move. Have the giant red circles do pulsing (so condition removal works once and you’d better dodge roll as soon as you’re free) fear or multi-stacks of confuse. This would teach players to move when there’s red circles as well as prolonging the fight.

Fire Elemental: Considering the THREE pre-events (two of each are long due to being escort and a 5 min area defend) this one has, it probably doesn’t need anything. If players don’t shout that there’s 3 different pre-events and only announce when fire elemental is up, that’s the fault of the community, haha.

Frozen Maw: Maybe give the guy some big red circles which do freeze like you see snow trolls do. Would teach players to move. Would be amusing to see tons of players suddenly stuck in place and condition removal doesn’t work.

Jungle Wurm: They need to fix the lag problems this one has on players before they think of adding more stuff.

Since for some odd reason, middle mouse button has no function in this game, I put my aoe pickup button there. So F is used for normal pickups or activating stuff, and when I wanna just aoe pick up stuff, I hit the middle mouse button. Much easier on the left index finger, haha, and my right middle finger gets some exercise in this game. XD

Ideally, I would like 5 “belt slots” located say, above the 6-0 skills where you could put 5 consumables or weapons which are often used. This would save having to repeatedly open up inventory while running and looking for stuff, haha.

Clones and Phantasms are physical manifestations created from their target’s thoughts. If said target dies they die too.

Considering we can summon clones and phantasms to attack inanimate objects such as gates and arrow carts and golems, I honestly can’t agree to this way of thinking anymore, haha.

Ideally, I would like more of the existing weapons given to professions who don’t have them already: Examples like:

Warrior: Torch (skill4 could be a fire field done by tossing the torch, skill5 could be a cone fire attack)
Guardian: Rifle (another ranged style)
Elementalist: Sword
Thief: Rifle or Longbow
Mesmer: Pistol main hand, axe main hand
Necromancer: Sword
Ranger: Offhand sword, rifle
Engineer: Sword

I like the idea of having every profession able to use one specific fantasy weapon which is the sword, haha. They don’t have to use weapons like every other profession, so there could always be diversity. Engineer sword, for example, could be tech-style attacks like electric blade with a skill2 stun and a skill3 explode or something. Something which is themed to each class. If Guardians had access to a rifle, it could fire spirit rounds or something.

Giant Wurm crash

Both times today, I’ve crashed at the start of the giant wurm fight. The game claims the client has lost its connection. However, this has only happened with this particular world event, not with anywhere else. Other people at both fights have complained they crashed/lagged out at the start of the fight as well.

Is there something wrong with this particular battle or map causing this weird crash?

Macros, policies, behavior and obfuscation.

My mouse has a button where if you hold it down, it automatically clicks the left mouse button until I take the finger off it. However, I tested the speed of that button vs me left clicking for one minute on a click button website, and I beat my mouse by like 10 clicks, haha.

Seeing as I can click faster than my mouse, I just use the extra button for selling and buying stuff. We really need an “open all” command and a “buy x amount” command from vendors as well.

Guild member dots on map in pve

Please have an option to enable guild member dots in PvE similar to how you see your server player dots in WvW, along with an option to hide your dot if required. This would make it much easier for doing guild stuff if you can see your guild members whereabouts, instead of only seeing your team and commanders to co-ordinate stuff. The “hidden” option is for those players who wish to hide from their guild if required for whatever reasons.

Maybe make the dots gold colour (and change commander icon to gold if in same guild representing at same time) to distinguish from party dots and other commander dots.

Superior Sigil of Battle not working?

Sigil of Battle only grants might when switching weapons in combat. If you’re out of combat and try to switch weapons to give yourself might before attack…it won’t work. Also has cooldown of 10 seconds.

I’m getting this bug too (UK player on US server). A lot of the time now if I join, the party UI on the left pretty much breaks so I can’t see new people joining the party (I can at least still see them typing in party chat).

The problem isn’t with multiple guilds, the problem lies in how Guild Wars 2 have set up their chatting system. Want to talk with your guild? You have to represent them in order to even see what your guild is talking about.

In City of Heroes we had a means to create our own (multiple) chat channels, which helped immensely for social purposes within the game, such as raiding, doing task forces (dungeons) or incarnate stuff. The closest thing we have to that in Guild Wars 2 is Lion’s Arch map chat, haha.

Henchmen, or variation of hero units using the appearance of your alternate characters. Obviously limited in some capacity, such as only having up to two hero units in a party with no real players, and give them the ability to self-resurrect after 15 seconds.

All the complaints about people needing to ping gear isn’t the fault of arenanet though, it’s the fault of the community with certain elitist players.

If you are looking for players to do dungeons, your best option is to do a little research and find what guilds on your server (or if cross-server guild), find which is best suited to allowing casual players to do dungeons, and apply for an invite.

Regarding Arah, the reason why you probably don’t see it on a third party random party matchup site is because Arah is considered to be hard enough that people just don’t like forming random teams to do it.

I would like to see a mystic forge recipe in the future though, haha. Maybe 250 stacks of any dungeon tokens x 4 turns into a stack of 250 redeemable tokens which you could take to a specific vendor and he turns those new tokens into whichever dungeon tokens you want. Thus, it would take four times the work to get specific dungeon tokens, so arenanet would probably be happy that doing the actual dungeon itself is more preferable than converting tokens.

Veteran Oakheart graphical bug

A lot of veteran oakhearts have for some reason been replaced by minature spirit versions (the name has changed to just “oakheart”. Despite this, they still have veteran health as well as the exact same attacks and movement (due to the faster movement of the original, the little oakheart seems to slide across the ground as its animation does not match the veteran’s movement speed).

Just a head’s up. Haven’t tested to see if they still count as veteran for the daily though.

So on 25th June, the following was applied to Jormag.

Claw of Jormag restores health at the second stage. The mound to the east was also removed, a popular position for players to attack from.

While the second part is understandable, Jormag now regains full health on second phase. Previously, no matter the damage you do to him on the first phase (if you were quick enough to leave him with 1/4 health, for example), he would regen back to half health upon having his wings shattered and landing.

Why on earth was he buffed? He is already the longest world boss fight what with his super armor resistance on second phase and using giant icicles to freeze players and destroy golems, as well as the frozen ground to ward off melee players and range attackers with less than 1200 arcing range attacks, and champion mobs interrupting players, and now he takes even longer to defeat. o_O

I want craftable breathers for rare and exotic. No karma or dungeon versions, only obtainable via crafting! This way, people would at least have incentive to build it via crafting or go to TP to buy it instead of just dungeoning for tokens to get it for almost free.

I would have liked an animation which changes depending on what you have in offhand if dual-wielding for all classes (such as axe for warrior, if you have an offensive weapon in offhand, you chop once with right, chop twice with left, chop three times with right again, if you have defensive weapon, then complete animation stays as default). The animation speed and damage types stay the same as normal, it would just be a visual effect.

But I guess it’s too much work to get it done right, haha.

Ok… Seriously… I feel more enraged by the word kitten now than I do actually reading a curse word, simply because I don’t understand what people are trying to say half the time. I understand that this is my own personal opinion, and I also understand that this should -NOT- be taken as a top priority. However, I’m no child… I can handle reading a curse word on the forums. Please put in an -OPTIONAL- profanity filter on the forums, instead of limiting us from a basic “Freedom of Speech”.

It doesn’t really matter anyways, because I can bypass that profanity filter by saying things like… “This is Bullskritt” or “I’m gonna skull ferk you!”

Bear in mind if you use that bypass method in an attempt to insult someone, you’ll probably be subjected to bans though just like people ingame who swear at people.

I had some discussion on this ingame too. My idea was that a warrior would be able to store his banner (F1 when holding the banner), which he would then put on his back (banner head over his left shoulder in comparison to two handed weapons which go over the right shoulder). You will now be using your normal weapons with your banner on your back as if you were standing next to it, only it’s mobile on your back. The only downside to this (and to keep arenanet’s vision of warriors only having one burst skill) is that the weapon burst skill in F1 is now replaced by Plant Standard.

I’m pretty happy with the looks I can get, though I had to get gemstore leggings for my elementalist due to lack of pants on light armor, haha.

As for headgear, I’m unhappy with a lot of it, as almost none of it can show the hair underneath (everyone is bald!). My thief on the right, I ended up just sticking with the anonymity starter hood which he wears sometimes, while my norn ranger will probably just always show her head.

I specifically made my female medium armor alt a norn, so she could use cultural gear. As for my male human thief, I already had my eye on the duelist chest armor when I first saw it in beta in character creation. XD

I’m kinda confused with all this talk about how condition damage is broken and stuff, could someone care to fill me in? Also me and some guildies are gunna try a dungeon tonight and we’re all relatively speaking condition builds….are we totally screwed? lol

On your own, you’re fine with condition builds as it’s pretty difficult to hit 25 stacks of bleed/burn/poison on your own. But in a team, it’s extremely easy to do so, and that’s where the problems lie, as any excess stacks overwipe the oldest ones, resulting in wasted damage. Condition damage also doesn’t affect objects, of which some dungeons will have. This is the prime reason why many players use builds which focus on power and critical damage, as they don’t suffer from the stacking problems condition builds do.

City of Heroes had one of the best forums I ever went to. The devs and moderators communicated often with the fanbase, which is apparently really rare among official forums. Due to the community (it was about a superhero MMO, after all), everyone was more mature about conversation, and even if views clashed, at least argued without throwing backhanded insults everywhere.

I do wish we had avatars though to put under our names.

Haha, I remember when I first did Fire Elemental when it was relatively new – EVERYONE there (about 20-25 people) was in their undies or close to it due to how immensely difficult it was.

Nowadays, it’s rare to see someone actually die against Fire elemental.

I wish Shadow Behemoth was a bit harder though or had better tricks to prolong the fight without making it too hard (due to being in a starting zone) – like maybe his giant red circles would do pulsing fear, or doing huge knockback, instead of doing piddly damage which people just ignore.

For a moment there, I thought this was going to be a thread about the enemy mobs going invincible on us while fighting and running back to their rough spawn point. XD

Anyway, be aware that dodges use endurance which takes time to recharge, and skills with invulnerability have relatively long cooldowns which balance it. So don’t blow your most damaging attacks when you know your enemy is about to go invulnerable or block/dodge it, haha.

Happened to me once in L.A. Ran at the gate, jumped, lagged, went right through, fell into the water, had to WP back up again

Happened to me in the Mists when my connection went wonky. Went through the gate using the sprint from greatsword for a change… and kept going off the cliff. XD Because the connection was broken, I guess, although I fell and hit the bottom, I didn’t die from the fall, and was running around for a bit. XD

Basically a viable build in PvE, dungeons, WvW, fractals, which doesn’t require me swapping out everything just to play something.

It’s just I was wondering if the small increase of vitality from taking four ascended trinkets with pow/prec/vit/crit is worthwhile over losing a small amount of precision, or if the vitality isn’t worth it. Either way, both are so similar to each other (in regards to power and critical damage anyway), with some small shifting of precision over to vitality.

I’ve never really decided how much of each stat I want, nor do I ever go out of my way to get food for temporarily stat bonuses. Are people really that reliant on food?

I generally always make a human warrior type (usually male too) in any online game to learn the ropes at my own pace, haha. City of Heroes was probably the only one where I didn’t start with a warrior-type (tanker/scrapper), but a ranged character (blaster). After I returned to the game though, my interests went into my tank and tons and tons of scrappers.

So while melee is my general thing, I do like diversity, such as the mesmer, because it reminds me of my illusion controller in City of Heroes.

I like how the conversation devolved to talking about cars. In a fantasy game. Hah!

Anyway, I don’t think it’s bad for developers to be playing with stuff other than berserker gear. If they use non-standard gear such as conditions, they can notice problems faster and hopefully buff them a bit. I’m still waiting for the workaround for 25 stacks on bosses!

Ar the moment, 41%. I’m actually in the process of replacing some of my old gear, as it is rampager/rabid armor, haha.

My trinkets are two berserker rare rings with exquistite jewels, ascended distinguished circle of logic amulet and the other three are waiting to be replaced (they don’t have any precision).

I run with a 20/20/0/25/5 build, and use berserker weapons. My focus and greatsword has sigil of energy, while the sword has earth which I’m planning to replace (maybe accuracy, or something else like bloodlust).
