Deer can fight dirty too, I went on a bio break and returned to find my character with half hp being attacked by a minotaur… but three deer had somehow decided to help save me and were relentlessly attacking it until it was dead.

I was so thankful I left them alone to get my daily unique kills elsewhere. XD

Can it oneshot if a player isn’t wearing any armor or jewelry with vit/toughness?

Why comment if you’re not having the issue? It just breeds confusion, some of us are actually experiencing it.

Possibly because if only you and some others are saying it doesn’t work, then it doesn’t work for EVERYONE. However, some people are reporting that it works for them, thus, the problem seems to be randomly affecting people rather than 100% affecting everyone.

I’d like it if arenanet added more story stuff which is optional to do, and could be tied with character creation choices or with NPCs (such as humans doing some mission stuff with Anise, or even Logan, haha) or even with Order stuff, such as maybe having to mentor a new recruit (and hopefully you not following your own mentor’s shoes…). Anything which doesn’t have you playing second fiddle to Trahearne, haha.

It could simply be triggered by finding the relevant NPC and talking to them. If they’re not normally in the game world, then it should be simple enough to add them.

Regarding the holy trinity, I like to think of it as everyone is now their own holy trinity.

People also have to be aware that there’s some paranoia about visiting forums for a game they enjoy playing. I still remember horror stories (which were apparently true) from EA forums, where if people got themselves banned intentionally or unintentionally, their access to all their origin games (which was unrelated) was locked out. So the safest way to not get banned was to simply not use their forums at all, which is presumably not the intent the company wishes for.

I don’t know if arenanet uses the same sort of methods here, but if they haven’t mentioned anything about it, why risk it?

They should rework Phantasms to switch skills with basic attack, the attack they normally have, and the ability to dodge roll (like how you see bandits do). This “attack once, and stand and do nothing for 6+ seconds” is really dumb behaviour.

Considering that Abyss dye is now at a ridiculous 16 gold minimum, I’m giving serious thought to grinding the materials for unidentified grey dyes in order to get the abyss I want for certain characters.

To think back then, I brought Abyss dye for 4 gold, thinking it was pretty expensive… I should have brought more. XD

Tried buying stuff from TP, looks like it’s all wonky at the moment, eating money and not giving anything. Other people are reporting the same thing as well (I’m on Stormbluff). Since I just used maybe a silver at most, I’m gonna write it off as a loss, but you two will probably want to put in support tickets.

Started to save up on dungeon tokens a couple of weeks ago in preparation for my level 80 characters, and working a build based off that. Much easier on the wallet, and pow/vit/tough stats are always nice. With the exotics flooding the market from the event thing plus from fractals (I guess), buying them outright to reskin is cheaper than building it yourself. Or, get the base model from dungeons which have berserker stats (for example).

It’s just a bit sad really that crafting is much more expensive than buying the weapon you want (especially if it’s something like berserker), and if it’s not available, then dungeon token gathering is also a good means of getting weapons.

I have a mild case of acrophobia, and it doesn’t help when I’m doing stuff where the floor is really far away. In games where I could control my height of descent, such as City of Heroes where flight is possible, it’s not so bad, but in Guild Wars 2…

I don’t think it helps where if you survive a long drop without dying, you fall flat on your face. It’s even worse when you do die from the drop. XD I normally have to take a breath or two to calm down for a moment before continuing, haha.

The halloween jumping puzzle wasn’t bad because you just fall into the clouds (or the clouds swallow you) and then the screen changes immediately. But on jumping puzzles with big drops, it’s nice to know I can usually take my time doing it, haha.

About this month’s monthly achievement – please don’t leave everything to the last seven hours and then complain that it switched to the next month early.

But then, it’s happened twice already, so what’s one more time?

Human male thief, my character in GW1 was an assassin from Cantha. Despite this, I had already rolled him as a warrior, so remade his look, and named him based off my main from City of Heroes.

Ironically in beta, I had a human female thief, but I just wanted the iconic look of the duelist coat you see on human male thief in the character profession choice at creation, haha.

Was in the final part moving the Ancient back to nesting grounds and then everyone on map crashed out. Basically spent the last couple of hours for nothing then other than armor repair costs.

I’m getting this as well.

Since Arenanet haven’t made any sort of announcement about it, I’m guessing it’s due to server overload. We probably should be able to log in again when the event is over.

I like using the Ebon Vanguard skin because it’s the same model as the longbow skin… which means you get a big shortbow, haha.

Pretty sure it’s a typo. What they meant to say was every “legendary” (purple, not gold) should (probably) drop stuff now.

Of course, I’m not surprised if I’m wrong, haha.

9800 karma is nothing, if you have transmute stones then you’re set already.

Daily achievement for two days gets you ONE skin. I brought a bunch of green weapons, tossed them into the forge with the donation package, and brought the nine skins I wanted for my lionguard-themed character in less than an hour.

Only problem for me is the dungeon doesn’t really give a decent reward, and 15 tokens ain’t very encouraging. Honestly I expected at least the typical end reward, that lots of exp and 26 silver. But nope.

This is my problem with the new dungeon as well. All three stages combined takes much longer than a single path of any dungeon (except maybe Arah?). It really should have the typical exp and 26 silver (for level 80) at the end to give more of an incentive for players to repeatedly do this.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this. Maybe because I didn’t see any silver elite enemies? XD Finally normal-ish mobs, though the nothing-but-veteran Sons of Svanir was a bit of a surprise, haha.

Also, following the format from the new rewards for the other dungeons, having a Bag of Wondrous Goods for each end stage legendary boss would be neat with a 3 token drop.

And then Trahearne shows up, saves you and saves the day and ruins the plot (for you).

Kidding aside, it would be nice to have personal stories focusing on the NPCs (other than Trahearne) who you met along the way and the unique bonds they share with your player character.

Also static objects which melee attacks kept missing frequently (like burrows in AC dungeon) was patched to be hit more reliably too, which is nice.

I find that turning off the double-tap to evade helps A LOT (I remapped it to mouse 4). This allows you to do minute tapping to move around tight ledges and the like. I can’t remember how many times on a jumping puzzle I double-tapped and fell to my doom.

I’m a little surprised that the game never had a place for players to type out some biography bit or backstory for other players to see. But then, the personal story thing kinda fits everyone into one of three different backgrounds hailing from the same cultural city, so it pretty much makes exercising any imagination for your character’s background moot…

It’s only worthwhile if people are already fighting it and then you can join in for easy event karma and a couple of silver (if in a high zone).

What next, zergs needs to be nerfed? For every friendly person within 1200 feet of you, you lose 5% stats to a minimum of 100 points in each? XD

I’m expecting more underwater and more undead Risen fights.

Be aware if you overwrite a rune (by placing a new rune over your old one), you do not get the old one back. Still, if the rune you’re overwriting is useless to you, then it shouldn’t matter too much.

Duelist (exotic level 70 or higher medium armor, uses basic icons, but doesn’t use trenchcoat) and human Cultural tier3 is probably the skimpiest I can think of, haha.

So, I ran into the “outmanned” buff on my home server of Stormbluff Isle in WvW. It gives buffs to magic find, exp and karma for being outnumbered by an unknown number. That’s:

+20% magic find
+33% exp
+33% karma

If I eat a karma booster for 50%, and plant a guild karma banner, does it all stack for me to drink my 24 jugs of karma? o_O

I asked for this a long time ago and people said no, generally for clipping reasons (armor is already clipping anyway), or for PvP reasons (people check skill icons, not appearance). I’m still hoping for changes to the fine transmutation stones or have new “rare transmutation stones” in the gem market. I don’t care if they would cost more, the option to mix and match armor appearances would be great. Medium armor characters would love it the most, I wager, haha.

I posted a suggestion for a second wordfilter which couldn’t be turned off, where arenanet could stick in stuff like spam urls so people could never see them, or have it turned into the word “kitten”, but people were against the idea, haha.

IMO… the warrior that killed me so many times was using some type of bug or exploit since I had never been killed that quickly by a warrior in the past. I could be wrong but it scares me that there are these particular combos in the game that can bring down players so quickly. I don’t want this game to turn into a twitch game like Mortal Kombat where the people that can execute the perfectly timed combos are always going to win. This guy definitely got the fatality on me each time.

It’s not a bug, it’s extremely likely he’s using a glass cannon build (a build which sacrifices both vitality and toughness for damage). Many thieves use a glass cannon build as well, for example.

What Frenzy does (if he’s using it) is speed up animation time at the expense of defenses, so if he’s knocked you down and Frenzy and then hundred blades you, unless you use a stun breaker move to get back up and dodgeroll, it’s likely you’ll take the majority of the damage from it.

Been hoping for this forever. It’s fine to make them do smalltime damage, but at least let them easily survive against some unknown bandits or whatever, from personal storymode to dungeon story mode. You might as well strip off their purple legendary status and give them veteran or even normal mob status at the rate they get defeated so frequently.

Grats on doing so. I still remember in City of Heroes when people completed the equivalent of dungeons (known as Task/Strike Forces) designed for between 3 to 8 people solo, so it’s nice to see the practice continues in other MMOs too, haha.

One tip is to make use of the target command (Ctrl+T) so everyone in your party is aware of what to attack first. An example, like say if you had three ascalonian ghosts, one of which was a veteran Mesmer, a veteran Ranger and a champion Warrior, you would call target on the Mesmer first (would probably need to tell everyone at start of fight to focus on target), followed by Ranger and then the champion last (as it has most health).

It helps especially on PuGs, as you don’t really need to communicate if everyone has a vague idea of what to do, just call targets during fight is fine if everyone remembers to hit T to target the called enemy.

Try crafting or buying level 80 rare or exotic armor with a defensive stat in it, such as Knight (power/precision/tough). That should still help your greatsword out with precision and certain traits which give you might on critical with a greatsword.

Unfortunately, Orr is just designed to be a nuisance to the majority of characters due to almost all mobs having stuns or confuses or pulls or whatnot, haha.

I wished that all skill 1 attacks with a main hand weapon would alter in animation (but not in effect) depending on what you have in the offhand. Like if you were using two swords, then the second swing would be done with the offhand sword. It would look a tad more realistic rather than constantly attacking with one sword despite holding a second sword (or indeed, any offhand melee weapon such as an axe or mace).

Don’t sigils with chance on crit share the same cooldown? Do dual superior sigil of fire have higher than 30% chance on crit together? I would imagine the better combination is a superior sigil of fire and a superior sigil of accuracy if you plan to go two axes?

They should at least be exotics with uncraftable stats such as pow/vit/tough to give incentive to buy the tier3 sets. Keeping the tier1 and tier2 sets as rares is probably fine.

Just dropping a note that the five-six silver mobs which spawn with Aldus Stormbringer now repeatedly respawn within ten seconds or so of defeating them in the first path of Honor of the Waves.

Not sure if this is bugged or patched to be ‘working as intended’, just giving a heads up.

Check your graphic settings perhaps in the Animation part?

I suppose the beauty of crafting a pair of daggers, a pair of pistols, a shortbow and a sword ensures you can always swap whenever you feel like it, haha. Since the thief doesn’t have as many weapon choices as a warrior (my main), it means it won’t take up too much room in your bag designated for equipment.

Hrm. I was gonna go dagger/dagger on my thief, but now I wanna give this a try, haha. How is it as a levelling build or is it better to wait until you’re 70-80 before respeccing into this?

What would be nice when the statue returns is to make a small fence around it with workmen of different races rebuilding the statue (to explain ingame how it returned), and just keep them around for like a week or something, haha.

My suggestion is to put in the kitten wordfilter as a secondary filter into the game itself, which cannot be disabled. In short, it would replace any words which are on the filter list (separate from the profanity/banned word list), and which cannot be disabled by options. Also, make it so they can see what they type (so it doesn’t give the game away) and not see what they type being censored.

As to what goes onto this list? The urls the gold seller bots are spamming (not the http part, they don’t seem to spam that). So, if a bot was to repeatedly spam out “buygoldderp.com” or whatever, it would be changed into “kitten” for everyone else seeing the message.

While we still have to keep reporting and blocking as usual, this would ensure the bots can’t even advertise their sites properly. Any new urls they spam get put onto the kittenlist eventually which hinders them even more.

Extra bag in inventory is unlocked by gems only for that character.

Extra slots in bank is unlocked by gems and can be accessed by all characters.

In short, if you want to unlock slots on a character’s inventory, be sure you won’t delete that character any time soon.
