I noticed on your page that you have food for PvE use. Does this mean you run this build out in PvE as well, not just WvW and PvP? How does it fare in normal content and dungeon content?
While they were in the wrong, you were in the wrong as well. You don’t pick a fight with your guild during a dungeon. Save it for afterwards, and if you get kicked, then find a new place.
If you were antagonizing your team, it’s small wonder they decided to kick you immediately rather than wait until the dungeon was complete. So, next time you decide to pick a fight for any reason (even if you think you’re in the right), make sure of the timing for it. :o
They are there because the people who use botters do not read the forums, and thus, don’t care about arenanet saying they’ll ban more bots. They’re using stolen accounts, so any bots caught does not affect them financially, they will simply replace it with a new stolen account.
The locations they pick are varied; you just happened to run into an area they favor.
In short, just keep reporting and blocking as usual.
Would you be able to quote the PM you got, just for clarification?
There’s no quote button in my PM (not sure if there is one or if it’s just bugged, but anyway, copy pasted:
John Smith:
It is not considered an exploit. It’s always possible it will be changed later, but we are currently allowing it.
Hah, I have:
Sword
Axe
Mace
Shield (superior sigil of fire)
Warhorn
Greatsword (superior sigil of luck)
Longbow (superior sigil of fire)
Rifle
I plan on making a Hammer to add to my collection soon.
I got a PM from a thread I made about the issue from one of the staff, it isn’t considered an exploit for boosters and jugs to be used together. However, it is possible in the future that they may decide to change it.
Also, the jugs are a result of buffing up the reward from daily and monthly as incentive to do them.
Thus why some people resort to selling on map chat. If you want everything to be handled quick and fairly efficiently as well as securely, expect to pay a small fee for it. If you want to handle everything including actual handing over of goods, then broadcast in map chat for buyers (and hope you don’t get ripped off).
Haha, there’s been two new builds today out of nowhere. Luckily I wasn’t doing a dungeon, but even so. XD
Send it in chunks if you’re worried about getting it all at once.
If he’s willing to give you 30 gold, then accept 5 gold for now, and then 5 gold every 10 levels or something, with the remainder (if any) all at 80.
So for rifle, even if not on a condition build, is it better to make a berserker rifle (pow/prec/crit) or rampager rifle (pow/prec/cond)?
You should see how headwear dealt with hair in City of Heroes. Almost all of the time, hair was completely removed, so just by looking at your character from different angles, you could clearly see the character was bald. XD
Pretty sure the wiki is also written by the community as well, not by the moderators. You don’t even have to be signed in to edit the wiki.
The thread has been moved to the Game Bugs subforum while an answer to this topic is given.
So, uh… is this considered to be an exploit or not?
Cool, thanks. Wasn’t too sure if it was possible or not.
I’ve heard about the replacement thief hood and how a new thief can pass it to a different medium armor character by doing the following:
1. New Thief buys a white or blue mask.
2. New Thief uses a transmutation stone to combine his hood’s appearance with the white/blue mask’s stats. The item still appears to be soulbound.
3. New Thief places new item into bank.
4. Medium Armor character picks up item from bank, and transmutes it onto a new item (rare/exotic/whatever) using normal or fine stone.
Can I do something similar, but with the Order weapons and armor even though they’re rare quality?
Think all the guild data is only applied to each individual server. If your guild decided to relocate to a new server, you pretty much have to do it all over again. On the plus side, if you ever decide to move back, all your old guild stuff is still there waiting for you.
Dont see how this can be considered as an exploit
It’s why I want to hopefully get official ruling on if it’s an exploit or not. There’s a lot of things we don’t consider exploits which Arenanet does.
I’m just wondering if Arenanet considers using karma boosters/banners with jugs of liquid karma a bug/exploit or if it is working as intended.
Should I save as many pots as I can before using a booster or drink them all now before it’s patched to not work anymore?
I’ve suggested before that the holder of Orbs should be negatively affected in WvW, while the world buffs from the Orbs affects the holder’s world in PvE. This basically buffs the losing worlds to give them a fighting chance (instead of giving up).
But I don’t know if people would go for such an idea.
It’s a general warrior bug. All Arenanet has to do to patch it is to make defeat remove Vengeance as well. I don’t see it as high priority though, so to get around it, basically wait at least 10 seconds from the time you first use Vengeance before hitting a waypoint if you got defeated.
And YES he was a warrior. Can you explain that again? He has a downed skill, that makes you die?
Basically, the warrior gets downed, and activates Vengeance to get back up. This is a 10 second buff which allows him to have a small chance of completely reviving if he kills an enemy (100% if he took a trait for it), but if he doesn’t, he is defeated (i.e. auto-die). While in Vengeance state, if he loses all health, he is automatically defeated instead of being downed.
The bug is that in this 10 seconds, even defeat doesn’t remove the timer, the timer only expires after 10 seconds or if the revive mechanic removes it. So, in your example, your warrior friend was downed, used vengeance to get back up, and probably due to multiple/hard hitting mobs, was almost immediately reduced to zero health and defeated. Then, your friend decided to immediately go to a waypoint. All this happens in less than 10 seconds. So, as soon as your friend loads up at new location, the vengeance buff timer runs out… and your friend dies again.
This has happened to many warriors, haha.
While I’m in favor of keeping the level 80 limit, I wouldn’t mind an extra 10-20 trait points when the next expansion is out.
Leave one of the champions in the corridor before the room alive, and have Detha start the event. If she doesn’t do anything at the turret, have a player pull the champion from the corridor out to fight Detha (the aggro player might have to die for the champion to look at Detha). Once Detha is defeated, defeat the champion to get it out of the way and hopefully the event will work again (it did for us using this method).
AC path 2 was a bit buggy at the end, when the female Charr started the event but refused to do anything except stand next to a turret. We had to run back and pull a champion out to knock her unconscious, defeated the champion, and then she decided to go fix a turret.
Not only should you be able to equip shields in both hands, but you should be able to equip shields in your armor slots…
…
(just kidding)
Do all three at the same time.
After I got Warrior to 80, I started work on my thief which has got to 40… but then started on a Guardian because was kinda tired of being a glass cannon… and then switched to Mesmer after reading a certain guide on it… and now the Mesmer is 30, and Guardian is 22, haha.
The fourth bonus for this particular set is:
X% chance to shout Yarr and grant Might to nearby allies when hit. (cooldown: 10s)
HOWEVER… when it actually activates, your character will simply shout out “For Great Justice” regardless of profession.
Could a possible patch in the future have the original voice actors for each race and gender record their best pirate impression of “Yarr” and replace the sound effect for when “Yarr” bonus is triggered?
One way I can think of is that winning servers get world buffs applied to their world for PvE only. If a world is winning in WvW, then the buffs get applied to the two opposite worlds in WvW. So basically the other two worlds are buffed up in WvW to give them a fighting chance, but the incentive to win is to benefit your world for PvE.
I’m wondering how this works for the Hall of momument skins you can get. I know a basic T-Stone only works for items below level 80 but if I have level 80 armor or a weapon I want and I want it to look like the HOM skins how do I go about that excatly ?
Will the HOM skins even work on level 80 items ? There are a few that are just awesome and I’d love to keep them.
If any of the items being transmuted is level 80, then you’ll need Fine Transmutation Stones. In your case, you want to transmute the Hall of Monuments skins onto level 80 exotics, so there you go.
I would note that buying the 25 pack of Fine Transmutation Stones from the gem store is the only purchase where I didn’t feel guilty about doing so, haha.
Armor is soulbound on acquire, I believe, while tokens are account-bound. Either way, once equipped, all green and above items are soulbound anyway. So, I would suggest to keep your high level ranger if it is the only high level you have, and start earning them tokens. You could always claim the new thief is the brother/sister of your ranger, and name it similar, haha.
I don’t agree on having a inspect gear command or a duel command… well, the duel command might be fun for one-on-one battles with no consequence (i.e. the defeated player immediately gets back up from defeated status with no repair bill). Okay, so the second one might be nice, but have that in city only, not on the playing field or in WvW.
Also, these two have nothing to do with server community stuff. What we do need is the ability to make our own channels, like in City of Heroes. Then people can talk to each other regardless of guilds they’re representing. :o
As long as the old -% stat penalty from GW1 doesn’t make it, I’m fine. Do you know how discouraging it was to die repeatedly and get -60% stat penalties? I had friends basically just calling it quits for the day due to that mechanic and due to how long it took to wear off. Just imagine if that happened in a dungeon, storymode or explorable?
It still works in reviving defeated NPCs… but they don’t have a downed status, so the game considers them to be downed even if they’re not moving.
I think the bigger thing Battle Standards needs fixing is if you’re interrupted while casting, the banner doesn’t come out, and you have to wait THE FULL RECHARGE TIME. Ugh. I’m not sure if this applies to all banners or just Battle Standard.
What sigils do people like to use on their weapons?
In normal play, I tend to use my knight draconic armor (power/precision/toughness) or my magic find gear (power/precision/magic find), and as such, tend to switch between these…
Greatsword (Superior Sigil of Luck) – I use this to build up luck to 25, and will then sometimes switch to another weapon. I plan to make a second greatsword sometime soon with a different Sigil to switch to.
Longbow (Superior Sigil of Fire) – Nice thematic effect with fire arrows already. Thinking of putting a similar sigil into my rifle too.
Still working on what to put into other weapons such as my weapons sword and axe, my dungeon mace (which is equipped with power/vitality/tough armor), and my shield (same as mace), haha.
Bots and multiboxing are two different things really. Bots are fully automated with nobody behind the computer. Multiboxing is two or more characters being controlled by one person generally just using a program to link two or more computers to one keyboard if multiple instances of a game isn’t allowed.
The main difference between the two is multiboxing players can go wherever they want, while bots seem to generally move around a particularly small area beating up neutral/weak mobs, or even remain stationary and wait for mobs to respawn. o_O
Not all MMO forums are quite like this one – for a few weeks after live game release, Guild Wars 2 didn’t even HAVE any official forums. XD
Green/Yellows? Couldn’t you treat the end of personal story as like an Orr map completion and dole out three random exotics? Consider that doing the entire personal story takes longer than doing all Orr/Frostgorge/Fireheart map completions combined?
Or maybe two random exotics, five Fine Transmutation Stones and the token thing, because the stats will probably be poo on the Pact weapons and people will just transmute it to a new crafted weapon, haha.

I just wish there was a different skill than Plant Standard (skill 5). Sure, it’s a combo finisher, but it’s near worthless since there’s an activation time of one second and it’s easier to just drop the banner to use your weapons. Maybe if Plant Standard had the effect of resummoning your banner for the first time, it would see much more use.
Of course, if this was the case, then all banners would need to have a ‘summoned for first time only’ skill, such as is the case with Battle Standard’s ability to revive anyone in radius from Downed status or Defeated (NPC only). Then, the “Plant Standard” skill would have much more use.
There was one mission in story mode where you get put inside a golem due to the danger environment and have to venture inside a volcano-type area along with an asura NPC. What was interesting was that my entire party all had golem suits on too.
That’s great, I actually didn’t know about this, haha. It seems just like Ebon Vanguard, they sell the same look throughout all tiers, so I can just get a tier 1 and reskin it. Why can’t the racial cultural weapons follow this pattern?
Is there any other non-racial cultural stuff on sale for karma other than Ebon Vanguard and Lionguard?
Arenanet needs to give us an elite shout skill.
Honestly, transform skills are too short for their cost and recharge time. I think all class transform skills need to be 1 min duration with same recharge time. You can keep the 30sec in pvp and wvw though, since nobody uses them there.
So, that giant golden shield with a lion motif the Lionguard use… I want it.
Do any karma vendors sell the shield or the recipe for it so I can reskin one of my exotics with it? If so, do you know the name and location of said vendor?
anyone ever find that karma trader for this armor set?
Check all the heart vendors in Orr (all three maps) or Frostgorge or Fireheart. The pieces are sold individually. Fireheart sells them the cheapest, if I remember.
Bear in mind the armor from basic karma vendors in Orr sell the same one throughout Cursed Shore, Malchor’s, and Straits, along with Frostgorge, and Fireheart Rise. If I remember, the one in Fireheart Rise is the lowest level, and thus, cheapest for that particular look. Also, not being level 80 means you can use the basic transmutation stones if your stat armor isn’t level 80.
Not all warriors are evil or maniacs.
Alternatively, the definition of “justice” is in the eye of the beholder.
Have you thought about having your authentication system send a text message with the code as an alternative method, similar to paypal’s system, for phones which aren’t as advanced, or is that too costly?
Hello, so every patch all the other proffesions gets some love/fixes and the Warrior has not seen a single bug fix in a long time.
So when do you plan to roll them out?
Simple traits have been bugged since release and still no fixes on those…
Those would be considered “buffs”, not “nerfs”, and as such, they’re on the backburner… or rainy day list.
Set the filters to exotic, and minimum level 70, and you’ll find the specific Duelist medium armor you’re looking for.
Only thing I can think of to get around this – is to level up several alts to farm each day, since nodes are character based and not account based. So, if you eventually have five characters in Orr, you could get five times the amount of ores and wood you need!
… Until this gets nerfed and nodes are turned into account-based.
