they can bring it as fractal-raid and by doing that they will open a wide area of end game content for 40+ people. And FINALLY when you DC youll be able to get back in
withe the last release there has been a quite big frustration of the players relating to overflows guesting and loosing your spot on main when you DC. im wondering if anet will do something realistic about it.
Awesome question… i really wonder first of all why there are Mists weapons and Foefires with very cool looking auras and no staff at all… i believe having weapons with auras makes them very good looking, also the staff is a weapon better represented from magic so staffs like the aether one or the fused dont really fit to the concept, from the other hand i think kasmeers the legendary one and the ascended are a very good example of how they should look like. for start what i would do is get the ascended staff concept and add some blueish aura like the mists weapons.
EDIT: Something that i want to add is theres was a post quite sometime ago on reddit with a staff that they datamined with a very very cool looking raven effect, you should check it out.So your mainproblem that you do not think there are some “high level” staffs that fill your needs in term of design, while you see no other overall that seem to be what you desire for your character.
You want a clear distinction for high lvl content to look epic. glistering with particles and maybe some cool animation.
Right now the ascended weapons are not that what you would like, i guess. At least not in their current form.
In my opinion i am not really a fan of particle effects. The whole glowing thing is getting a bit out of hand in my opionin.
I like it a bit more subtle. More detail.
Simple looking from the outside, but if you look closer you see all the amzing design that was put into it,I think there are other ways, aside from: “let`s put more sparkle or fire on it”, to get an epic looking weapon done.
This is why like to ask the question: What is good design? What is beautiful?
It is a personal question. Everyone has his own ideas about that. This is what makes art so hard.

Yes I agree everyone has personal preferences. But! There are currently very simple looking or detailed staffs that are very good looking that are good for both for male and female characters. But there aren’t any good with effects especially and I repeat that especially for male characters which is where I think the problem is
- Integrate the idea of GW1’s weapon dying system… It worked, and there should be a quest available to unlock it. I suggest a quest because we have too much Trade Post stuff and way too many achievement metas with the current living story.
While i would like something like that, it would also make some weapon set ingame useless, since some are just reskins of other (asura and inquest for example).
Overall it is a nice idea, however there is another problem:
Some weapons are colorful, but only thanks to their effect that is placed on them.
So it would not work with your following idea.- Elemental Fusions (Idea from: Tibia)

I like the idea. even though i am against the whole “too many particle effects” thing.
I am a bit more simple with the designes i like.
Anyway the system you are proposing is something that has been said before, however i would rather integrate into the a revamped crafting system so the high lvl crafting jobs actually mean something.
It could be combined with the ability to choose handle and bladeform to create unique weapons.
Right now every tier looks the same, so they are not really desireable before lvl 400, where you get access to the cool stuff.However if you want to aply elemental effects on the weapons, they actually need to do that damage too, like all the other “elemental” weapons ingame.
I also would suggest that this is not something everyone can do from the start. it should be something to be earned.
Furthermore it has to be restricted to certain weapon, so that there can be still a lot of unique weapons.
While i understand that you want to “pimp” every weapon i do not think that is a good idea in the long run, because after a while we would see a lot of “same” designes in the world

I have to agree. Staffs are not easy to do, however the ones we have range from elaborate to unpractical.
I was hoping for a “simple” staff design somwhere. However in my search i did not find many so i went with the guild staff.However i have to ask you what you (Immensus) think would be better looking staffs?

The staffs ingame are fine for the most part, but they all follow mostly the same design paradigma and thus are stuck in some way.
Do you want more leaborate designes in general. Things that stick out.

cut the crap, open world hardcore content is awesome, is just not for everyone, and thankfully is not that much, there is always dungeons and other instanced and casual stuff for everyone

we need better support skills and (yes i will say it) tanking skills, and along with that some dungeon/fractal bosses revamp that will require the players use both the support and the tanking skills, and then just enjoy! this will indeed be a light trinity but will also be more entertaining

I would agree with that, they are not really fun to do them even though they are different to the traditional quests, anyone that has done map completion admits that hearts were a huge pain to do and they felt very grindy and they have nothing to do with exploration in most cases
Honestly after watching all wildstar streams and really laughing out loud with the Devs humor, i dont think ANet devs have humor. but really thats not something that has to do with the game at all.
i think they ve done some pretty heavy nerf to all classes previously including mesmers, but they were necessary, this time is just too much, mesmers need vigor and good endurance regen, and they nerf the skill that gives them this ability, that is just bad really bad

i thought mesmers were supposed to be duelists not supports.these guys are nerfing dueling traits. necros were supposed to have main dmg from conditions, these guys they nerf conditions, engineers were supposed to be power condis relied on turrents, these guys nerf turrents. warrior were supposed to be a strong class that can tank, these guys made them OP and hey are both tanky and make massive dmg and cc. i dont like complaining but this must be the worst balance update by far. if they keep this way class balance will be for me the reason to look for other mmo

Our Horizontal Progression Proposal
The Reward and Associated Journey
— Sociopolitical Diversification: Player housing (Customizable from rewards gained in the open world), Guild Halls (Customizable from mass play rewards) and Map Wide Meta events unlocked through Faction progression (Leading to both individual and group rewards such as titles and skins)
— Role Diversification: ‘Grail Quest’ (Personal rights of passage) style adventures through the open world (testing the player in combat, discovery, and puzzle solving) which others can engage in once the activities are activated which could reward the Hero with New skills/traits, new weapons, access to inaccessible existing weapons, and infusions.
— Hero Recognition (Reward) is a by product of the above two types of Horizontal Progression leading to Unique Skins, Titles, Rewards, followers and NPC reactions/opportunities based on the players individual feats in the world of Tyria regardless of how he/she chooses to play the game.
Global Rule Proposal governing the above:
- Where possible use the above design paradigm to reinforce and evolve the existing world.
- Players should be able to have multiple methods of achieving ‘Grail Quests’, rather than a section of the journey being based on Jumping Puzzles and that alone for example.
-A reworked (cleaner) version of Signet of Capture would work very well for Role Diversification.
- Sub-classes will be discussed again in a CDI once Arena finishes its current balance work in regard to roles.
- QOL features such as a wardrobe should support this global design.Once we have discussed the proposal and the thread reaches conclusion we will sticky it and move onto CDI Process Evolution Phase 2.
Note this is the formulation of a collaborative proposal for discussion. Once the proposal is finalized it will be discussed internally. However there will be no promise of associated actions or schedule.

I think they should get rid of all the stupid dowed skills, such as the thief and mesmer ones that makes it very hard to stomp them quickly.
Even the ‘high population’ servers are completely dead now. All the current servers need to be merged in 4 or 5.
They are not high according to their active players but according to the accounts they have, which is bad because we`ll never know if many players indeed left and new ones came

I think that that a topic relevant to balance once the ability to switch quickly from WvW builds to PvE and vice versa will solve many problems with many builds. But i posted it in this thread just in case.
People lately keep asking for things that will be introduced later this year in other games, it is a very good idea adding them in Gw2 to make the game more fun. Especially this idea is something good to break the routine.

Few weeks ago i made this post https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Am-i-the-only-one-that-hasn-t-finished-PS/, the majority of people in this post claiming they didn`t even bother with finishing personal story, is widely known that PS in Gw2 is bad delivered and people lose interest on it very soon, what are you doing to address this problem? I believe PS in a MMO is a very important feature that has to be good to keep the player interested both in lore and in the game.
