its actually not even that, the best looking skin are only in gem store and black lion chest etc. thats what makes vanila gw2 feel like a cashshop f2p, which is why after all why isnt as popular as it would be if it had actual content, not a single one of my gamer friends even heard of gw2, which is sad. The rewards are as bad as the in game rewards for anything else. Still i`ll play because pvp is fun, im used to not getting properly rewarded in this game after all the time i spend doing something….
There all fun to play BUT Mesmers are too hard too play currently in PvP the effort you need to put into playing them well is far more than lets say warriors and rangers, and from the other hand Necros arent that good in pve dungeons/fractals atm since they are condi based class and the current meta is Zerkers
All other classes get cool weapons like engi hammer, druid staff, probably thief rifle, we get a lame off-hand shield that are completely out of context for mesmers. from all the weapons that could easily fit the mesmers like dagger, axe and even main hand pistol we get the shields, i dont know i hope there are some mage like skins for shield with HoT to fit my mesmer style at least, otherwise that wasnt a good choice tbh.
If you’re not playing at a particularly high tier, you could play something that does a lot of damage without much kit swapping, like a rifle SD build or a trolly elixir gun camping condi build. If your latency is really that bad though, you’re not going to survive under any serious pressure with anything less than a full bunker or decap build.
Yes they’re ugly and a huge turn off. if you aren’t able to fix it at least let us hide it like the normal backpacks or even better let us replace the skins with one of the available in hand backpacks
Don’t give up so soon. Granted, kit engi isn’t for everyone, and Aussie lag won’t help, but it’s a nasty class to deal with accept for condi necro. Watch lots of vids/streams, and practice for a few hundred hrs. Being used to turret build isn’t helping. But play what build that’s fun for you. Why change if you were doing so well at turret bunker?
I don’t like passive builds. I used to play mesmer but the class has become a chore and requires too much effort for too little results and I decided to go back to engineer which was the first class I ever played
it is the first time pvping as an engi i was destroying others with Turrent builds and i start trying other builds like celestial and i can win a single 1v1. My Aussie latency doesnt help when i use granades due to the fact that i pretty much miss all the time and the bomb kit isnt always the best solution if i want to replace it with granades, i need advice otherwise i might give up on pvp
Best Utility: Mesmer portal, the only skill ive ever played in MMO that has unlimited utility.

dude you got through the heart quests probably the worst traditional questing experience of my gaming life and you gonna stop on wvw? NO! YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE! YOU CAN DO IT!
GW 2 has a large variety in genre types of armor like pirate,scifi,medieval etc unfortunately all the armor is exaggerated and some aspect of the armor pieces are either silly, goofy, or made to large and out of proportion. Anet needs to add some toned down armor sets with calm designs with no exaggerated features and no parts sticking so far out the parts look obnoxious. Last the medium armor is flamboyant the game needs medium armor that looks like is meant to be used in combat and not to just look fancy.
… the fact that this game has very good variety of different types of armors and weapons. Im a sci-fi and guns lover and i always loved sci-fi fantasy games/movies/anime etc. I find my self very very satisfied because im able to create a futurist look for my engineer. Thanks Anet.
havent played mesmer pvp for 5-6 months, i got back to it today and i didnt win a single 1v1 which makes me sad because i liked my PU build. anyway, what is the new build most mesmers play these days? thanks in advance fellow mesmers

I always wondered why such an important cosmetic feature is character bound and not account bound. It feels bad when someone is been through all that grind to get 100% world completion on one character but not being able to show it on the other characters, especially in a game that is so Alt based like gw2.
I love pvp and wvw but i dont like pve, i guess it comes down to the type of challenge a player wants, i like smashing other people`s butt thats why i pvp put i find dull doing that
to mobs and bosses. other people are the other way around, thats all
I was never into pve in gw2 but recently i decided to finish my legendary and i found that i need gold and karma, unfortunately the only fun thing i have fun grinding is fractals, but i dont know if there are good for karma and gold, if not what other options have?

Im a very nitpicking person, ive been mostly playing RPGs my whole gaming life, Elder scrolls, Dragon age, Mass effect,Bastion etc. etc. Good story telling it was always my thing and it was always what i though gw2 lacks the most. In fact imo personal story its very badly done and i dont even see the reason of its existance, bad characters it is too long and other staff like that, made personal story very dull. Season 1 was OK but i cant say i enjoyed it. season 2 was much better but the last 3 updates have immersed me into the story so much that i actually start giving a kitten about it, and start reading and searching on the internet and speculating of what comes next. WELL DONE ANet you got the support of a nitpicking RPGer, i fully trust that you will give us an awesome expansion!
there does seem to be enough time to go from one fire spot to the next and complete the circle the moment i get the fire and i start casting the second fire the first one has disapeared, that cant be right
I only pvp and very rarely wvw, theres nothing else to do honestly, map completion, done, legendary done, all dungeons, done, fractals, done, most of the world bosses, done, LS has barely added any of these so i dont even bother with it.
level progression is necessary for the skill and traits system, but imagine if it was separate from your actual stats lvl and you could just roam around anywhere from lvl 1
You better tell us now that this is not what we should expect you to announce before players overhype it and then blame you for not delivering even though you never said anything!
Ive sunk over 1000 hours into the game and every single one of it is worth it, but then i hit a wall. Do i think the game needs endgame after 1000 hours? Yes, theres only 3 types of end game for co-op/online games that makes them last. 1. Competition (see mobas)
2. Gear treadmill (see wow, diablo, borderlands) 3. sandbox and freedom (see minecraft, EvE online). Gw2 has none of them and is strugling on keeping at least the competition part. thats why i think it could have been a perfect co-op experience with new game every 5-6 years rather than MMO.
i will be more happy on getting new GW game rather than just expanding the current mess that gw2 is, unless this expansion is so good that will fix everything we complain about
So is just me or the last 2 months the world feels less populated? I remember after megaserver all capital cities being packed, but now there’s barely 10 people around in each one of them. Also wvw state t2 is depressing you have people the day after reset and then its just empty again. The game does need expansion for the sake of bringing back people too
im starting my legendary and i have literally no gold, so farming dungeons daily is one thing i will start doing, which ones are the fastest and most rewarding paths to do?
Cracks me up when I see people suggesting kickstarters to a company that has a revenue of several tens of millions of US dollars. What you gonna do with the kickstarter? Raise enough money to buy the air freshener in the company’s restrooms? Because I doubt it will be enough to buy tp for a month.
GW2 could win awards at release and I am confident that it is still a nice game. However, comparing how it was at release and what the company could have done the 2 years that followed.. it is just sad to see that not much has happened. Yes, GW2 is probably doing well, profit-wise and it has a huge population and it is still on the lists of most played online games. However, it is on a decline and without an expansion, proving that Anet is capable of returning the lost glory, GW2 will just end up as a successful MMO-release with no actual follow-up which is kinda rare in the MMO industry.
Since WoW, this has been the most successful commercial release. It is just sad that such a huge accomplishment would eventually fade away because the company wouldn’t take the right direction.
PS. I am not saying it is late. I still believe that GW2’s popularity can explode with a well-done expansion however I am persoanlly against the fact that LS can be enough as an updating-model. Even if it gets improved and we start to get everything from it. Still, it will not have the same promotional impact as an expansion. A game doesn’t only need happy players, it also needs promotional doses to hype it up in a good way. GW is luckily in a good position if something is to come up. The question is though if there is actually stuff to come..
Im pretty sure its not Anets fault, Anet are people with talent everyone can tell you that, is more like NCsoft, once again limiting them on doing mostly Gem store content for profit rather than actual content, this publisher is awful and this is the last time i bought an MMO from them. Anet dont forget, there are always kick starters, wink wink…

yours is pretyy clean because you dont have amy story quests etc. but i dont like the personal story and such thus these things have stuck on my screen and also i dont do dialies so i have this big UI part as well
UI in gw2 i very beautifully done and such but i find myself many times trying to immerse into the game and all these quest/event trackers, the huge health/name bars and the skill bars ruining the whole thing for me, i just wish there was an option to make the above either individually to not apearing or make them more minimal so that there not all over the screen

Yes. Especially since introducing mounts (or, even more, mounts granting speed bonus), would make a lot of people really unhappy.
how? explain me how a sane person would be unhappy by having the ability to purchase an item in the gemstore (thats already in the gemstore) but it only has some speed buff bound to it
1. People are against gemstore items to give a direct advantage like a speed-boost to those who own them.
2. People are against speed-boost mounts in general. One of the arguments is that it breaks the immerson in the game and it makes the world of Tyria less meaningful.
3. It goes against the lore where the Asura dominates travel in Tyria.
4. It goes against the purpose of having waypoints game-play wise.
Now, you can apparently arugment against these points too however what I mentioned was just an example of the many arguments people have to prove that mounts aren’t needed in GW2. We simply have alot of people who really despite mounts. Mounts are going to be there as cosmetics however, I doubt we will see any speed-boosting mounts anytime soon.
there are speed boosters dropping every 2-3 black lion chests that you open, which is practically gem store item, on top of that there are other boosters on gem store like XP etc. you point would make totaly sense if these things werent already in the game. the rest of the point also dont make much sense since the game its an mmo and thus it is breaking immersion constantly, if you want immersion play skyrim not an mmo.
Above all Gw2 is a cosmetic game indeed, having cosmetic mounts with no speed boost (since some people say we dont need them etc. etc.) but we barely even have that
