i dont remember anet saying that they will add weapons in 2013, all i know is that they said they will do it in the future for sure, if you got any article or video that confirms that the said they will add them in 2013 please share it with us
thats a nice idea, but that probably will make the map completion quite more complicated, i already hate the fact that hearts are required for the map completion

Seriously, this is all avoidable if your mmr isn’t crap
And all the bad players gives you a statistical advantage, so if you’re any good, you should be able to get yourself a good mmr easily

What the titles says^^^^ It feels so unfair ,me being a warrior and a Mesmer DPSing me hard and i lose only a 5% portion of my health. That`s just unacceptable.
Let me think. Lately I do 90% of the time PvP 10% dungeons/fractals/WvW. Except patch days which I only do the achievement
Fractals are like dungeons with interesting mechanics that are located in lions arch if you search it in Google or ask on map chat they will give you the waypoint, but for start I would recommend you do the dungeons and use the dungeon currency called tokens to buy armor and weapons. After that what I did and I’m still doing is a combination of PvP WvW open world events such as The Shatterer fractals and living story. I also work towards my legendary but I don’t rush it
We need them at least for WvW and PvP
Warriors are not God like indeed but the effort and the skill a warrior requires to be killed is greatly larger than any other class therefore they are OP
Exactly what Deejay said. Downed state is an enabler for:
- Being Carried
- Playing super glassy builds and not caring enough about your own life.
- Punishing good players from fighting multiple lesser skilled enemies due to an artificial wall that isn’t fun.
- Promotes team imbalances and other general post-death imbalances.
- Besides, regardless there’s nothing “interesting” or team-playish about picking people up off the floor. The fun is supposed to be in the combat, not rubbing a guy’s leg because they’re bad and Numbers > Skill and coordination.

The problems is that depends on what server are you on my server i always see ppl in all areas and obviously plenty ppl in popular areas such as LA, but a low pop server feels very dead and thats because ppl in low pop servers got disapoint with the population and left or they transferred to a populated server
I know that probably has been a post like that previously but dont get me wrong, downed state is very useful in Dungeon and generally PvE and in many occasions in WvW, but is completely annoying and useless in PvP. For example something that happened to everyone, you were dueling someone and you beat him while he`s on downed state you are trying to finish him and someone else takes advantage of your low health and defeats you and you neither got a kill or had the time to escape because you were busy FINISHING THE PREVIOUS PLAYER!!! i mean what??? and thats just one example of why downed state doesnt have place to an intense game feature such as PvP! Anet if you want your game to have at least a chance in Esports little things like that, have to change!
ANet slid the core issues of PvP under the rug and showed off some new shiny rewards. The sad part is, people actually bought it.
yes, anet has a tendency to do that, but things will go back to really bad after players find out how poor professions and combat truly are in a pvp setting. In 2-3 weeks most of them will go back to where professions and combat shine… pve/wvw auto attack zerg trains.
pve/wvw auto attack zerg trains which can make you get bored very quick and after that they will be complaining for lack of fun things to do because they never gave PvP a chance, really PvP is hard especially for new players but once you start learning it you understand how fun it is
I like them, and to be honest i never gave PvP a fair chance and with the changes i said ill try one more time. And i find out that is actually a very fun and challenging game feature and i spend the last couple of days doing only that. Im looking forward to the upcoming PvP changes even more now.

The biggest problem is that MMOs need to cater a broad audience. Focussing primarely on pvp would be too big of a risk for them to take.
I think balance in GW2 is actually relatively good compared to wow. The main negative i can come up with is that some professions require next to no effort to be succesfull, while others are on par or more difficult to play than anything youll find in wow.
So winning in skirmishes is often done with relatively cheap tactics (esp if you look at skyhammer) where it would be ideal if kills etc needed some setup.

You really shouldn’t be playing MMO’s if you aren’t prepared to drop your life for a video game. Try a console game instead.
Gw2 gives you the ability to not drop you life if you dont want to, the only thing you will sacrifice is slower progression in the game thats all

A good MMO can never become an eSport. Why? Look at what games rank the top of the eSports list: fighters, FPSs, and MOBAs. Now look at what they all have in common: very tight balancing as a result of linear combat systems.
A good MMO needs diversity and depth, which combined with the need for constant updates, results in a complex combat system which is basically impossible to balance like how you would need to balance an eSport.
eSports in my opinion trades off playing just for the sake of fun and a game being interesting to it being competitive. Personally, I don’t like that.
Even though you seem like you have a good point, i would be bothered Gw2 being an Esport at all, PvP is good it really is, there are only few important things that made it fail and is sad

I just wanted to know how much a perfect Infusion costs and when to stop upgrading one. I mean if you infuse a +10 AR infusion, you won’t get it out anymore and have to “restart” the construction of a perfect +15 AR infusion, but +15 seems a bit hard so …

Nope.
Major issues:
-1 mode.
-that mode is incredibly boring and flawed
-balance is so bad it’s not even funny, even when taking in account only the 2/3 builds a prof have (implying that some prof have more than 1 decent build)
-reward structure and overall blending with the rest of the game are lackuster (might change in next months, but it’s too little too late)
-the overall combat system doesn’t allow to have deep mechanics in combat. Compared to Gw1, where you have hexes, enchantements, tide-changing interrupts, real team play, base holding + CtF + kill the lord + deathmatch in a single game mode, and so on, Gw2 just looks like a bad joke.just … this…

I dont know if it is true but the population is dropping and in this server is really really low anyway, they dont even have WvW so something like that will be good for them

yeah i played a lot of Dota2 the systems works fine, the difference is that Dota2 has 10 times more players than Gw2 PvP does
Is quite strange when you go from PvE to PvP realising that ppl in PvP are different… and now the last week because of Anets changes in PvP many PvEers came in PvP and theres a ton of puging because they are new in that mode and they dont know what to do

Also, even if Eve and Wildstar do allow you to pay off your subscription using an In-Game Currency, you still have to pay for that initial start up subscription (unless they are in the habit of handing out Free Trials to everyone and thus negating their entire profit base completely). And even if you do pay for the subscription with in-game currency, your going to be hard pressed to make a profit with that in game currency unless you spend all your time farming said in game currency and doing absolutely nothing else. Unless the currency drops like literal raindrops in a hurricane, which would further destroy those games profit margins. Which means I don’t particularly think I will be among the rabid fanboys playing those games considering how much trouble I normally have making money in games as it is.

The problem is that none of you doomsayers have any context. There are currently no server stats for GW2, so we have no idea exactly how many people are or aren’t playing this game. Without that information making assumptions about the health of the game when a random new game is released is tantamount to the logical fallacy known as cognitive bias in the form of overgeneralization. And you really shouldn’t do that in a reasoned discussion.
So in general whats your opinion? that the game is good? because yeah personally i would say currently is very populated and there are some new players coming in every day! this doesnt mean that if a better game comes out is gonna stay like that

The new changes will bring more ppl in PvP which eventually will increase the interest for livestreams, thats the best solution for that currently more ppl in PvP more viewers… and of course some good commentators are essential
No offence but your point doesnt make sense… First of all there`s no size advantage of being asura, only if you are a clicker and you dont use Tab Targeting which means that you are new in PvP which means that youdont have any complete opinion about PvP yet. second because their animations, voices etc. annoying you it doesnt mean they should remove it from PvP, is just stupid…

imagine how great this game would be if you could progress the way you wanted. Imagine being able to buy ascended gear with badges, glory, or karma. Imagine being able to buy a precursor for 2 million karma or 1000 of each dungeon. token. Imagine how popular and vibrant the game would be again. Imagine if gem store wasn’t the only concern.

With the upcoming changes to rewards along with the class balances, PvP has a second chance to stand out… People after having done everything in PvE now they`ll have to Rank up and perfect their PvP abilities, which will take a lot of time and is very fun and enjoyable for many of the players… this along with new PvP maps/modes, WvW, LS and fractals i think can become a good start for an interesting endgame for a range of different player types…
