So players have been asking for mounts since day one of the game, and since then you have added items like magic carpet and riding broom that could EASILY someone use as mounts, and you give it to us with no speed bonus at all. Like seriously is it so hard give a 30% speed bonus and call this items mounts and just make everyone happy? We even buying these with real money on gem store!
yeah that thing is overpriced
This thread is very good and it should not be wasted, if Anet doesnt show its presence by commenting on a topic so popular when people like the OP dedicated A LOT of time to think and write such a good suggestions, then Anet simply doesnt respect its loyal players that want the best for the game. Thanks a lot OP, i personally like almost every suggestion you made
dude its nromal to be kciked on ANY map after an hour+
because fi you are an hour AFK then you most likly are not coming back in the next 5 secounds. ( Afk means that you stay still and don“t move on the map at all (WASD))IF you want to not be kicked from the gameMAKE SURE youa re 20- 10 mintes on the PC before hand if you happen to be on the map again. IF you would have done minor events or a bit of mats farming until that you would have not been kicked.
No stop whining
No sorry you`re wrong, no matter what, it is wrong for anyone not just me getting kicked AND NOT being able to get back in the overflow easily, the problem is not that i got kicked, it happens to everyone, the problem is that people wait very long times then suddenly getting kicked and theres no way to get back to the overflow unless you get lucky by spamming “join in overflow”. Thats just wrong design, especially for a game that is bragging itself for being fair to every player, hows fair when youve been waiting for hours and someone else who just logged in getting your spot within few minutes.
(edited by Immensus.9732)
I got kicked from Wurm recently while i was waiting for 1+ hour. It happened to everyone and it is outrageous, theres no reason why Anet havent put some time and money to develop a proper world events instance (group raid style from other MMOs) this is like saying to players we gonna waste your waiting time (1+ hour on average) when youre getting kicked from these events. Why should me or anyone with average internet should even consider going to these events when theres risk that all this waiting time will go to waste. This thing should have been a dev priority for gods sake
I agree, they shoudl make it optional something like you get gems/items discount every month if you give us 15$ every month. Nothing more than that though because otherwise people will think that it will be something like the Chinese VIP system
The majority of answers in this post just shows how casual faceroll players are in this game. Having one viable build thats far better than others in PvE is just stupid class and encounters design, period!
I will only say couple of things, i ve been playing the game for almost 2 years but my thing always was pvp/wvw. So for the first time i dive into pve finding out that the only fun content in the game is couple of world bosses and fractals. All of them are just completely unrewarding, theres no good excuse here for why the heck high level difficulty fractals have soo crappy rewards. Fractals could have been pve end game and if they could keep adding 2-3 every year with rewards like guaranteed fractals skins and ascended gear after lvl 30, and little things like that , that would make the player feel like hes/shes getting powerful shinies for his/her efforts, and in a game that is all about making alts people would only wnat to gear/skin up their next toon after they`re done with the previous. It just feels like so much wasted potential on such a well done fun content.
GW2 is already a shopping list, this would just make it more convenient to shop ;p
Well my suggestion is more like giving to the players shopping list, is more like giving them options to what to to after lvl cap since this is the complain you most see about the game. Everyone praises gw2 for the leveling experience but they think theres nothing beyond that, which is wrong
The end game is already in Gw2 no matte what most people will have you believe. Theres already an achievement system that functions as quide to what to do in end game but consider my suggestion.
Think when a player hits Lvl 80 gets a Message from an NPC character that says to meet him/her in LA then the player gets some of the following quest lines from the NPC:
-The Legened of (legendary weapon) : questline that track legendary craft progress
-The dragon hunter: Quest line for killing open world Dragons
-The monster Hunter: quest line for killing open world bosses
-The research: questline that track fractal progress
etc. etc. etc. you got my point, it might sounds like the current achievements but the only difference is that is more like guide for new players that hit lvl 80 and they dont know whats next
What do you think?
I didnt take the time to read everything others said, but i strongly believe the core rewarding system is very poor, players have to repeatedly do instances that arent challenging just to have a chance of getting something good. i believe if the content of gw2 was more challenging something like the triple wurm or the aetherpath and players would spend much more time to complete it, you would be able as devs to balance the time spend on the content with giving much much better rewards, such as guaranteed ascended and exotic gear for completing this difficult content. problem is the game is easy and the 2-3 things that are hard in the game (1 world boss, 1 dungeons path, high level fracs) they are awfully un-rewarding. A solution would be to make content harder and logner to complete but at the same time massively increasing the chances of getting good loot.
^ Exhibit A
Why would anyone want to communicate when faced with this drivel? A degree of maturity and politeness will get everybody further than some in your e-face ranting.
so being honest to you is the same as being rude?
I think this post may be a valuable read: Mike O’Brien on Communication.
I take on board some well-expressed comments here. Quite honestly, I’m not sure how it would work to say “Yes, we’re aware of XYZ.” Those who say “We just want to know you’re aware” are terrific. But we all know that there are others for whom that wouldn’t be satisfactory. “We want to know you’re aware and we want to know what you’re going to do about it” can even become "We want to know you’re aware, we want to know what you’re going to do about it or [insert something here, from “I’m taking a break” to “I’ll never buy another gem,” to “I’m encouraging my entire gazillion-member guild to jump to Game Z].”
Please understand I’m not dismissing the desire for the first level of info, not at all! But can you see how the outcome can be unpredictable and how, no matter the question or request, there is no perfect answer? Further, can you see how “We’re aware of this and we plan to [whatever]” can become “Ok, you said you were aware of it three days ago, where’s the fix?”
I’m sort of writing to think, but I’d like to understand what truly reaches the point of “I’d like more info, but I’m satisfied with what you’ve been able to tell us right now.” Can you give me a few examples, where players would really like to know everything, but where there is a level of disclosure that meets the basic info request?
This company thingy is just a pile of crap, we just ask you to be more human and discuss on what is your vision of the game (which is not clear at all) and what features are you working on, give us some teasers let us get excited about the future, and you just answering us with a company way “sorry we just do business, we only talk about stuff when we are sure about em” just for the record, thats not the Anet that made me buy gw2 and play their game.
SE p1 Tazza will not stop agroing the ele’s….
I ran around the corner and she didnt attack anyone else, I pop my head out, BAM 1/4th my life gone…
Its so silly, she only target me for every attack, none one else took any damage….
Just fix your agro.
That would solve a butt load of PvE bosses etc. A BUTT LOAD! Aggro and support power are the only taste less things right now in gw2 pve, if theres someone trash talking about gw2 pve content by saying : “oh you only press 1,1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1” is because theres really no point to do anything else in this game beyond DPSing
Be it instanced raids or World Bosses, GW2community and DV will be on the front lines, fighting the good fight.
That^ and making them instanced is only good since we wont have to deal with the awful overflow system that you spamming Join in 1 hour only to get DCed 5 mins after you finally joined
YES YES YES!!! Bring it on!! cannot wait standing on LA with my bad-bump looking raid gear (or skins) YES!!!!! Thats all i want from gw2 and it will be a full MMO for me
Like seriously ive been browsing the last day all over the internet watching stats on reddit stats, MMO websites, google trends etc. it looks like gw2 is actually still a popular game 2 years after its release, Anet should announce active player numbers if thats the case, it will only help the game`s reputation
Proposal Overview
Full UI customization (with no addons)
Goal of Proposal
Since Gw2 client wont support any form of addon or UI mod, th eplayer need to have full customization of their UI.
Proposal Functionality
For start every basic element on the default UI (aka, Health Bar, Ability bar, Quest tracker, Mini Map, Event Tracker) these need to have seperate settings like: size, position, and in the future maybe even visual customization like color or different boarders etc. I think is essential having highly customizable UI, i would recommend a look at MMOs like EvE online and SWTOR, EvE doesnt support UI addons or mods but it has a very very customizable UI.
Associated Risks
The only risks i can think of is probably new bugs that will occur when this is applied, apart from that is only a win win thing since every player will have the UI that desires without using 3rd party addons
Am i the only one extremely sad for what this game was meant to be and what end up being ?
Are you saying Queen sucks? Eh? That there’s no value in their lyrics? Eh? That they are not one of the foremost, if not the foremost rock band on the 20th century? Eh? That they are not right in what they say in their music? Eh?
Do as the song says. Want it all. Always, about anything and everything.
So regardless of them giving me the stuff or not, I will never stop wanting it, and therefore I will never stop asking about it. That’s part of how feedback works. It’s called reinforcement. If you ever stop asking for something, they may assume is no longer wanted.
Now if you excuse me, I’m under pressure by some friends to rock some guys in WvW, another one is about the bite the dust, and the show must go on.
LOL queen \o/ for sure but got to have perspective too. Constructive criticism is one thing whining and saying nothing is being done is another.
P.S Led Zep FTW!!!
Led Zeppelin > Queen, simple as that
To all players: don`t be greedy. The content you are getting every 6 months is equal to a full expansion in other MMOs. New areas? EOTM, Southsun Cove, Dry Top (and 2 pvp maps) . New features? Wardrobe, Traits, New armors/weapons. New content? this is kinda lacking but still, 1 new dungeon, dungeons paths, fractals, SAB. AND ABOVE ALL, Story wise: we are getting roughly 1-2 hours of story play every 2 weeks, lets do the math, on average we get 1.5 hours SO… 1.5H every 2 weeks on a 6(?) month Season = 18 Hours of story, that is equal to a 60$ worth new Single player RPG story amount, the only difference is that you getting it for free, and you getting it 2-3 times per year. Thats a lot of effort, i my self can be disappointed sometimes with some features that we havent got yet that i think are essential if you want to make your MMO competitive, like Housing, Dueling, more legendaries etc. but we got to think that the Devs are people too and there have limitations on how much they can produce. The only thing that they should probably do from their perspective is become more open to the players and start talking about things on development more often and with honesty.
Thats the new animated lore series for world of warcraft, i got to say the artstyle and animations are almost identical to the gw2 ones!
- Reward system revamp, in combo with making hardmode.
- Class balance, make support viable in PvE
-Discussion about essential features of a contemporary MMO (housing and other sandbox stuff)
alli know is gw2 did the best mmo launch but the following updates where a total crap and tons of players left while eso did one of the worst launches but the updates so far and the upcoming ones they making it a very very solid mmo. thats the power of the money and thats why gw2 should had a form of sub when it launched
very well said

Is that the longest thread ever or what:P
Theres a ton of constructive discussions happening in the forums right now. and that is the case for many months now. of course thats always along with the stupid rage quit threads that ruin the proper criticism. but my question is, people have been asking for so many things, so so many, and at the feature patch we saw only a wardrobe system and some class balance, from all the things that people been asking they only did these, and wardrobe wasnt even the most popular if you remember the CDI with the devs couple of months ago. so many kitten good and creative suggestions from gw2 fans that would make the game indeed better and none of these are even mentioned from the devs. do these people care about their players opinions at all?
The problem clearly is that gw2 is not challenging and the content does not keep you busy for a while. yes wow didnt have expac for 3 years but the content that released was hard for back in the day and kept people busy long enough to not bother with having expac, plus if you remember well they were many people asking for more staff to be added in wow 2 years after its release
Best:
1. Visuals, Graphics, Music
2. Community
3. Regular Updates
4. Interesting Classes (although un-balanced)
5. More dynamic content
Worst:
1. Everything is casual and easy
2. Storytelling is really bad
3. Combat feels empty since support is not viable and everyone goes zerker
4. No ui Addons. thats just stupid tbh, every decent MMO supports addons
5. rewards are awful, which is a result of small stat progression range and no challenging content that drops good loot, apart from 2 only world bosses 1 only dungeon path and fractals, which is really nothing compared to other MMOs challenging content.
Honorable mention: Heart quests are borng and is what prevents me from doing map completion. also the armor skin variety is very very small and any new skins we get are Gem Store based. Weapon variety is good. If you combine 1. and 3. from worst list with stacking and bugs, dungeons are super lame and boring after a couple of times. Also Achievement system is the best ive seen in any game not just MMOs by far.
Final conclusion. w2 does need harder content is essential for people that play more often than casuals to keep em busy, on top of that rewards got to change , no more tiers are needed but bigger chances for ascended gear that can be dropped by doing hardcore content. on top of that grinding gold and mats to craft ascended is boring and lame, but doing epic challenging content like wurm to get a full set, not just blues and greens with a very small chance for ascended, is much better!
(edited by Immensus.9732)
Nope. The whole wardrobe thing is overrated to me. Never use it, and don’t ever think I will. And for 20$ it better be a bunch of swim suits with an uncensored version of a birthday suit :P
Thank god someone finally said it! Wardrobe is overrated, is just that gw2 has no actual progression only skin and visual progression which makes a wardrobe essential.
it has been nerfed is still challenging a lot but not as much as it used to be unfortunately. there are 3 heads its one of them has different mechanics very bfriefly ill explain, forgive me i dont remember the name of the heads. the one head all you got to do is get the three buffs around the field (red, blue, yellow) and get them to the platform until they are full, once full you can attack the head. second head you got to carry the kegs on a position close to the head, these explode and then you can attack the boss. the third haed (and most fun) you got to kill a mob that will give you a buff, then with this buff you got to stand in front of the boss (theres an arrow to where you need to stand) the the boss will eat you while in its stomach you grab a gun and fire until you destroy the stomach whatever that is, you DONT drop the gun and you wait the head to slit you, after it splits you, you use the gun and fire the head once 20 people do that the head can be attacked. after you decapitate one head you got one minute to decapitate the 2 others and i think another one to kill em after all of them are decap. i kept it very short
My gripe is that these low level zone boss’s don’t seem to be designed for the level range they are in.
I noticed this with the Shadow Behemoth. This is a level 1-17 zone. I was there with my level 30 Engineer. It took 14 minutes to kill it and I was there from the beginning, putting all my firepower in to it.
I didn’t do enough damage to get a chest. That’s ****** up!
this really happening?
yeah world bosses although popular they are f*** up as the guy says
I will agree with Immensus to a point. These issues being brought up with the world bosses and megaserver system are not new. On my server, there were a usually lot of people running world bosses whenever I decided to run them pre-megaserver. A lot of the lower level bosses would go down quick and getting credit wasn’t even an option if you didn’t have a movement speed buff depending on how far the boss was from a waypoint. If anything, Anet has already been taking concrete measures in previous patches to ensure people could at least have a fighting chance at event credit by adding more health to some bosses and new mechanics. The world bosses that have seen the most benefit from these changes as of late were The Jungle Wurm in Caledon Forest, Svanir Shaman in Wayfarer Foothills, Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale, and Tequatl. So, I know where you are coming from but you should know that what you are describing is indeed not a symptom of the Megaserver but of event scaling and how combat works currently. Anet has been attempting to make changes to make the fights more engaging and encourage greater participation but they still have a lot of foundational changes they can make before they get it right.
Edit: To answer your question, these are fights intended for participation by as many as possible. They are in the open world and not instanced. I don’t think their goal is to limit participation in the manner you are suggesting at the moment. For small group, coordinated boss fights you have dungeons. People have been asking for something in between and (arguably) we got the Marionette fight during the living story as an experiment. They are willing to experiment and this last year has shown us some interesting different ways to handle open world bosses with zergs. I’m curious as to what they decided worked and what didn’t.
Unfortunately buddy it has been like that for ever, go check my forum history i started from completely defending anet on everything, i had hope, i just cant anymore, people are asking for challenge and some content worth of expansion for sooo long, LS is good but not enough, and im one of them that says that and i really hope they`ll finally hear that and give us more challenging like teq bosses, it is fun grouping up and doing events but is more fun organizing to do em, until then i already pre-order wildstar to keep me busy and hopefully gw2 will get some good xpac to make us play
let me correct my previous statement, it was hard until lvl cap, since then it became what i described. and again that not just for WBs that also for dungeonsI remember doing most of these runs as in the mid to high 70s level range with at the most 14 other people and it was fun and challenging. Now it’s like “Oh st**” Hope I hit the boss enough times. Also we should not be able to run through each other that will fix allot of the problems with WvWvW.
i thought they always were boring, theres no challenge and many times is just stack and spam. it always have been like that, thats what made me hate open world bosses. i really hope they make most of them like tequatl and the great jungle wurm and get some meaningful end game raids except from this mindless zerg fest. even a 5 year old can beat these fights kitten
I dont see why megaservers are bad tbh, the new world boss schedule is. ah and the new triple headed wurm, is just awful how easy they made it
just give us instances with some challenging raids and actually good loot and everyone will be happy
Every decent MMO out there has it and everyone that have played one knows how necessary it is! There are so many things id like to change on my UI and i just cant! im pretty sure im not the only one that has the same problem… at least if you dont give as addons let as change the UI with some default Anet made HUDs etc.
why do you think so many stopped playing the game man? gw2 is awesome but you cant play forever something that you have maxed level got the highest gear and some also craft the legendary after 6-7 months… even the most casual of the casual would stop playing something when he hasnt something to progress anymore… we do need expansion, all this LS crap doesnt work
world bosses were always crap since they are stack and spam (except tequatl and wurm). now they made them even more with the new time system
have you got any idea how the wages are there? the equivalent of 14$ in CHINA might be 1-2 weeks of work (thats a guess)
Can`t wait to preorder wildstar, i just cant wait!!!!!!
1. Player housing
2. Free form targeting combat, like in wildstar
3. Raids, hard raids
Yes it does lose players. like any other game after couple of years after the release. and the anet updates dont really help to change that anyway
Lol dude I haven’t been following the living story for long time but still I know what scarlet is looking for. And you are still wondering xD
Lol civil was is coming Ellen supporters vs Evon supporters
I feel this way that’s why lately I complain so much about anet’s choices
