You just send the Serial Key to the recipient. The recipient then creates an account or updates their current account. No problem. =)
Good luck.
Sometimes, they are subtle clues to hidden content, or ways to access content.
Mounts, and dyeing them, and exploring the new maps. Can’t wait.
I’m not really into builds that much.
As noted in your other thread, the CS Team is inundated right now, and responses are slower than usual. This happens whenever there is a new big Release, or a major change to the game. Just an unfortunate by-product of no-subscription fees.
I participate in events that are around me, as well, if I’m gathering. Even if L80s didn’t, it’s good for newer players to see other players around. I doubt there are ever so many gathering-only players in a lower-level map that they fill it up so much others can’t get in.
You won’t lose the Minis or the Boost as they are account-bound. Only soul-bound items can’t transfer.
Are you sure it takes you to Path of Fire? For me, it says in big, bold letters at the top, Guild Wars: Heart of Thorns, and offers 2 packages: Heart of Thorns alone (Standard), and a Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire bundle (Standard Collection). If you wish to purchase just the Heart of Thorns expansion, you would click on the Heart of Thorns (Standard) icon/box (it default to the Collection, but you can choose between the two).
Good luck.

It doesn’t matter if you are logged into your account. Just not logged into the game; if you are logged into the game when purchasing, it will automatically apply the Serial Key to your game account.
I’m not sure why one would need to be logged into one’s account to purchase from buy.guildwars2.com, as that would prevent any new player from purchasing the game. Perhaps, try a different browser, or a different vehicle to interact with the internet. /shrug
It may be, depending on how long ago it was.
You can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ to discuss the issue. (I would guess ‘Account Issue’ would suffice.)
Good luck.
I’d be excited if we could customise mounts the way we customise characters. I’d make the biggest, fattest mount….
You can, sort of, customize the size of your Mount. It scales based on the height size you choose for your character. Thus, creating a character at max height will give that character the largest size of Mount selected. Or, conversely, creating a character at minimum height will give that character the smallest size Mount selected.
(Info from WP videos.)
Just watched a WP video that addressed this very question. To gather: Bring Mount near, press ‘F’, you automatically dismount and begin to gather; once the gathering animation has ended, you can remain dismounted, or press the mount key to mount your Mount, again.
(at about 13:00 in)
Good luck.
Here’s a link to the Heart of Thorns purchase page: Buy Heart of Thorns
I’m not sure if you are referring to a Renown Heart, or a Dynamic Event, but with either, you can just move on to a different area, and come back when there aren’t so many players about. It may be that that particular event is part of the Dailies today.
The Wiki (link above) is a great resource for all things GW2/HoT/PoF. You can access it in-game by typing /Wiki (topic of choice) in the chat window, as well.
Welcome to Tyria, and good luck!
Here is a guide of sorts: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_hall#Getting_started_on_upgrading_your_Guild_Hall
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_mission
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_mission#Preference
I see nothing about having to be Guild Hall Level 4 to start running Guild Missions.
Just follow the links.
Good luck.
I’m confused. Why can’t players that need, say, Iron, go to maps that offer Iron and gather it? Seems like a great way to keep those maps populated, and spread the population around. If lower-tier nodes are found in the L80 maps, why would anyone venture back to Core Tyria?
For those opposed to leaving L80 maps, perhaps the Devs could introduce a mechanic like Promotion in the Mystic Forge, only the opposite…um, Demotion? (It would seem going to gather the actual materials would be faster, but it would offer a different avenue of acquisition, I guess.)
Or, there are several content creators that have links to purchase Path of Fire where it will benefit them. There’s WoodenPotatoes, Bog Otter, Aurora Peachy, etc., just to name a few.
No, you must have the Elite Specialization equipped to use the weapon associated with it.

Without HoT you do not get:
Revenant class
HoT Elite Specs
HoT LWS3 items/stat combos
The Ability to claim Guild Halls
Scribe Crafting class
Gliding and Gliders
LWS3 in general
Legendary Armor/Weapons from HoTSupposedly if you get PoF and HoT together you get a discount on the bundle…not sure.
You absolutely get access to the Revenant Profession; what you do not get is access to the Revenant’s HoT Elite Specialization. You will get access to the Revenant’s PoF Elite Specialization with purchase of PoF.
(See post above quoting the PoF FAQ.)
Perhaps, he/she is referring to the drop-down boxes found in the Chat box options.
As I stated, the only thing I found in that area was a Rift. No sign of your anomaly. But, it may move around, so…
It’s either a bug, or some new (or old and undiscovered) Current Event or something.
(The latest statement from the Devs was that all content associated with Rifts has been found; I’m not sure if they mentioned other content.)
Frostgorge Sound is a L70-80 map. Not all enemies are L80.
If it proves too difficult, you can wait until you are of a higher level, if you so desire.
Good luck.
You can try this link: http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/Gw2Setup.exe

There is no requirement for credit card details to submit a ticket to the CS Team. In fact, you can submit a ticket anonymously.
Just use the ‘Support’ link above, and choose ‘Submit Ticket Anonymously’, or log-in to your account, if you prefer.
Only a few details on the web-form are mandatory.
Good luck.
Hmm…went to the same place, nothing there. Pulled out a Rift Stabilizer, and yes, a Rift appeared upon use, so I stabilized it. Never got that odd effect in your video, though.
Up until Sept. 22nd, when the expansion releases.
No, there are not.
There’s a recent thread (or more) on this topic with links to the Dev statements about said topic.
Good luck.
I think it’s a bit like having to do some part of Raiding, in order to obtain the ‘reward’ of Spirit Shards when leveling up.
Players feel ‘pressured’ into doing that for a reward that’s not worth much, at all. If there is a reward for having obtained all possible Mastery Points, or even 1 more than is needed, then some players may feel ‘pressured’ into obtaining those Mastery Points. Even if it were Spirit Shards, heaven forbid.
And, you know how well feeling ‘pressured’ to Raid went over.
There are plenty of Australian/NZ players a server would definitely help pvp/wvw quality of life, probably even raiding. Playing with 350-400 ping sucks :/
But, it wouldn’t be just one server, they would need 6 to accommodate WvW (or, at the very least, 3 and then they would only ever be matched against each other). Unless you are asking for a special GW2 for Australian/NZ players that lacks WvW.

Can’t non-HoT players participate in Raids and Fractals (all) now?
I don’t believe I’ve seen any threads where players were lamenting being locked out of Raids or Fractals because of purchase decisions (or lack thereof).
If they do the ‘clone’ account thing, again. I was wondering, because in the Demo videos from Partnership particpants, it seemed they were using a Demo account, instead of their own (as a clone). I don’t know if that was because ‘clone’ accounts aren’t available this time, or for some other reason.
Either way, nothing carries over. There will be a disclaimer at the top of the screen during all gameplay stating this fact.
Will Guild Wars 2 Gem Cards return to Amazon?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Inculpatus cedo.9234
You might query Amazon about when they plan to order more. As far as I’ve seen, ArenaNet doesn’t answer questions about stock, for the most part, for other retailers.
Many other big retailers seem to have plenty of stock, so it doesn’t seem like there is a shortage.
Still, good luck with your question.
I think this is a possible work-around. Rename gw2setup.exe to gw2-64.exe and place it where you want the game to download. Run the executable.
If you continue to have issue, you can contact the Tech CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below. (There’s also trouble-shooting tips in the Knowledge Base accessed via the same link.)
Good luck.
Due to recent increased volume, responses have been delayed. There’s an official post/thread about it here in this sub-forum.
Your friend need only be patient.
Good luck.
I would imagine they would not stack higher than 250, like most everything else.
I’m not sure what you mean by affecting equipment bags. Do you mean those specialized bags that only hold Rare, Exotic, etc? Are you asking if the stack would reside there, as opposed to in a regular bag?
No idea if it would be PoF-exclusive. I’d guess not as the new Unstable material salvage items are not limited to HoT…are they? I certainly receive them outside HoT maps. But, I do own HoT.
Yes, for those wanting Pre-purchase bonuses, make sure you purchase from ArenaNet or through one of their Partnership Program participants.
Otherwise, it’s just a pre-order ineligible for said bonuses.
I, too, recently spend near 5 million Karma, and am trying to get back up to a reasonable amount. I always use Candy Canes and Karma Boosters when I can get my hands on them. I feel so ‘near empty’ at only one million. I could easily spend that in a few minutes. I can’t afford all the Minis, and Weapons I would love to purchase.
I’d love if they replaced Writs with Karma consumables.
If posts are anything to go by, it looks like many people purchased both Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns. With the LFG, it certainly seems possible.
I suppose time will tell.
Good luck.

This may answer some of your question(s):
Q: Do I need to own Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™ in order to play Path of Fire?
Owning Heart of Thorns isn’t required to access Path of Fire content. However, some content is exclusive to Heart of Thorns.
- You must purchase Heart of Thorns to unlock and use the gliding mastery, as well as all other masteries introduced in and exclusive to that expansion. You will be able to complete all of the content in Path of Fire without the use of any Heart of Thorns-exclusive masteries.
- You must purchase Heart of Thorns to unlock and use the 9 elite specializations introduced with that expansion.
- Path of Fire includes access to the revenant profession, but not the Herald elite specialization. If you only own Path of Fire, you will be able to create a revenant character and unlock the Renegade elite specialization.
- You must purchase Heart of Thorns to claim the new guild hall released in Path of Fire, and access the Scribe crafting discipline to fully upgrade your guild hall.

Good luck.
It is not the end. Gen2 Legendary Weapons will continue to be released with Living World Episodes; specifically Season 4 Episodes. I believe, though, it was stated that one would not need Path of Fire to acquire the upcoming Gen2 Legendaries.
Good luck.
Edit: Here’s the quote:
“You got it. Our plan is to keep releasing them alongside episodes, not in a big batch, with weapons that come in Season Four not requiring the new expansion.”

And it will go back up when there are desirable items for sale in the Gem Store. I.e., likely at launch.
As for ways to deal with fraud, well, that’s more set by the payment provider, Digital River, than by ArenaNet. They have very strict rules.
Q: If I purchased the Standard Edition of Path of Fire, can I upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate?
A: You can purchase a digital Deluxe Edition upgrade through the Black Lion Trading Company in-game store. The Ultimate Edition of Path of Fire must be purchased as a complete edition, and the Standard and Deluxe Editions can’t be upgraded to Ultimate.

I know it’s little consolation, but the influx of sales has caused the delays, and having more players is always good for the game. Looks like Path of Fire is doing well.
Do not worry, you will eventually get your Gems, and you might consider waiting until the expansion releases to spend them. There’s sure to be some cool new items in the Gem Store.
Good luck.
I’d go for black Chaos Weapons. There are some weapons, though, that are darker. The Shadow Weapons are pretty dark, but may not be exactly what you are looking for.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadow_weapon_skins#Gallery
Good luck.
We are already getting the ability to dye our Mounts. It’s shown in the various videos of early Demo gameplay out there.
At this late stage, it probably doesn’t matter.
For the next expansion, though, suggestions would be welcome.
Are you sure it is not linked? The page in ‘My Account’ has a bug that displays the accounts are not linked, but if you check in-game for your rewards, or use the Hall of Monuments Calculator, you will see the accounts are, indeed, linked.
If this is not the case, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.
Good luck.
The CS Team works 24/7/365. So, there is no issue with ‘business days’. I imagine they are just backlogged with all the requests.
Living world S2 not bundled on HoT expansion?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Inculpatus cedo.9234
No, it wasn’t part of Heart of Thorns; it released before Heart of Thorns. Season 3 was accessible with Heart of Thorns, and offered free to current players, but they both have a cost to those that did not unlock them when they were free.
You can purchase Living World Seasons with Gems/Cash or with the Gold-to-Gems option (no real cash cost).
The Living World Seasons are discounted right now, though.
Good luck.
