In lower-level zones, probably yes. Have you considered acquiring a mouse that has buttons to which you can assign the Dodge function?

Or, as I use, a mouse that is stationary (I don’t need to use any keys for movement)?

You won’t find Living World Season Three Episodes in the Gem Store, but you can purchase them with Gems through the Living Story section in the Hero Panel.

Wow. I’ve not seen that particular bug in a long time. We used to have it on a lot of things, but it was fixed long ago.

Remember, any Gold awarded (for the Achievement) comes within the Achievement Rewards (1 Gold, 2 Gold, 15 Gold, 30 Gold, etc.) No need to pay out twice, really.

It may be that a template was set up for particular Reward Chests, so they could add different Gold amounts easily, should they decide (in the future) to do so. And had to put something in the placeholder until such time. /shrug

Have you tried re-installing DirectX9? (Not DirectX11 or 12, but DX9.) That has solved the issue for previous posters with this problem.

Move out of L80 maps and explore (or re-explore) the lower level maps to re-familiarize yourself with the game. Or, alternatively, create a new character (of a different Profession) and level it up to L80.

A bit of advice: Do not use your L80 Boost on your first 2 or 3 characters. Level, at the very least, one character normally in Core Tyria.

You know, I’ve read many times on this forum players that absolutely refuse to enter WvW because of its PvP aspect. It doesn’t matter if it is easy or difficult, scary or pleasant, boring or exciting to others; it’s just a game mode they can not and will not participate in. Now, for these players, Mistforged Hero’s Weapons are and have been locked away behind content, and are unavailable…because those players choose to abstain from WvW and there is no other way to obtain these weapons (at this time).

Who knows? Maybe, some day, there will be another way to obtain these weapons; maybe some day there will (an)other way(s) to obtain any kind of Legendary, or any and all items in the game. It happened with hats in GW…eventually.

They are not the legendary armor skin. The only one.

It’s not a matter of locking out a single skin. It’s a matter of locking out a whole gear category. Yes, that armor does not offer higher stats, and its QoL effect is not really useful to everyone, but still it’s the armor that, by the mere fact that its name is colored purple, is the most important armor in the game.

Again, as Vayne said, it’s a matter of perception. By saying “you’re not worthy of that armor set”, you are sending a message telling all those people “you’re second-class citizens”. Many people are seeing it exactly like that. And if you have chat with some raiders (or even see some of the more extreme pro-raid posters on this forum), you will see that this view is shared among at least a part of raiding community as well. In fact, there are people for whom raids are interesting only because they divide the players into first and second class citizens (and the more painful and visible that division is, the better).

You, personally, you may not think of yourself as a second class citizen just because you don’t raid. There are people that think of themselves that way. There are people raiding that think of you that way. And, based on some dev statements, it seems that there are devs that think that way as well.

Not sure I ever said I’m not worthy. I said I made a choice. I don’t really see how that could be quite so twisted into ‘not worthy’. Perhaps, there is some projection going on here, I don’t know.

You may be ill-informed on how much was required to bring back Super Adventure Box. It was not ‘just push a few buttons’; if desired, you can look up the Dev statements regarding SAB’s return. I imagine it is the same with every Festival; some more, some less.

You can always try perusing the PvP sub-forum. Though, it might be even more contentious.

Since you own the game, though, you can just hop into PvP and check it out for yourself – at no additional cost.

I believe you can change the stats by just acquiring (trading your old one) a new Caladbolg Greatsword (for an amount of Unbound Magic). Of course, you would lose any upgrades.

Well, I think it’s cool, and I can’t get it (because I choose to not participate in Raids, and even if I did choose to participate, I probably would not be welcome, as I don’t subscribe to any kind of ‘build’). I don’t feel that makes me a second-class citizen, nor do I feel like a second-class citizen.

We all make choices, and suffer the consequences of those choices. /shrug

You might consider adding your suggestions to the Sticky that the Devs are more likely to read, or ask the Mods to move your thread there.

Again, I believe “getting damage” refers to taking damage, not DPS. (And it’s not like we haven’t seen this mechanic before…long before, in fact. Way before Raids.)

New Elite Specializations are thought to come with each expansion. I’m pretty sure the Devs talked about that.

Thus, Hero Points will be used then, more than likely. It really matters not, as there is no downside to ‘storing’ them, and nothing else (at this time) to use them on.

Yes, “odds are low” and “chances are very slim”.

You already have insurance against losing any Gold in your bank. If your account is compromised, the CS Team restores your account (to a time before the compromise). Thus, no real need for a password on the bank.

Unless, of course, you did not want anything (characters, items) restored on the account, except the missing Gold.

No one person individually opens enough chests to know. People can aggregate results on the Wiki, but sadly that doesn’t happen often and without restarting the counts every time the contents are cycled, the information that is present is likely to be highly inaccurate.

Yeah, I noted that. I track my own, but I’ve only opened 293, which is apparently nowhere near the amount needed.

I used to add them to the wiki’s research page, but my edits disappeared about a year ago. I didn’t know if they were folded in or just removed, so I didn’t want to re-add them.

I did get two Noran’s safe room/keys back-to-back a few weeks ago. Interestingly, I didn’t actually receive the second one, possibly because I already had one in inventory. I actually received two BL chest keys instead. So, that might be a warning for folks.

For account-unlocks, you are supposed to receive 2 BL Keys, instead of the duplicate item. I had to contact the CS Team to have my Noran’s Pass replaced; glad to see it worked for you.

Too bad those silly Pink Quaggan Backpacks aren’t account-unlocks. I’ve received 3 or 4 of those. Sigh.

Did the CS Team not warn you about putting that armor in the bank? As far as I know, there’s not been a fix for that particular ‘bug’.

You want some facts? It’s a fact that at least some people feel the game’s identity has changed. That’s an absolute fact. It’s a fact that at least some people claim to have stopped playing because of it.

There’s no way to tell how big that population is but to deny it exists is senseless.

No one has ever accused me of being overly hard on this game, but I can see how people I know have been affected by some of the changes.

And there is people that came back just because of HoT and raids.
Me and my friends played GW1 since prophecies until the launch of GW2, then we quit GW2 in the first year. Why? Because there wasnt challenge content, you didnt need to adapt your build for the content, builds felt meaningless ( All the things that we loved about GW1). I went back to GW1.

Now GW2 is back to the track like GW1, offering meaning build choices ( what give meaning to a build is the encounter ) and challenging fun content without gear trendmill. So we all came back when hot was announced, and we sticked to it, and dont plain to leave. If gw2 had challenge content we would never have left.

Not really my point. People are asking for facts in a thread that is absolutely 100% opinion based. There’s no right or wrong answer to the question posed by the OP. It all depends on your specific concept of what the game’s direction was in the first place, based on your specific concept of where the game has gone. It’s not really possible for someone to be wrong about what they think the game’s direction was to them.

Long before this started, I made a post in a raids thread and I said straight out that if raids were introduced in this game, part of the game’s audience would feel disenfranchised and some of those people would leave and over all, I believed and said that profits would decrease.

Raids came into the game, some people felt as I said and profits or at least total income has decreased. Does this mean I was right?

Nope, it doesn’t. There are many possible reasons why sales are less than they were. But this game made more money before raids were introduced. That much is factual.

There’s no way to prove the raids themselves did it, and it’s unlikely the raids did this all by themselves. But as I’ve said numerous times now, the raids are symbolic of a shift in the game to harder, more grindy content. And some people just aren’t on board with that.

Let’s not get it twisted. Stating it would be nice if ArenaNet or NCSoft released income facts isn’t derailing a thread that’s 100% opinion. In fact, I stated several times what people were posting here was only opinion. Differing opinions, at that.

I thought the NCSoft people said Gem Store sales were steady, and only box sales were down these last few quarters. If so, I guess that would negate some of the theories.

To me, over the past nearly-5 years, many things have changed. This just seems like a bash-Raids thread. I consider Raids to be equivalent to WvW or PvP; something I don’t/did’nt initially find interesting, but would consider/did try out eventually. In other words, just another Game Mode I can take or leave.

I also don’t believe a player can’t be loyal to a game/franchise if they haven’t been playing since/near launch. No more than playing at/near launch would automatically make one a loyal player.

But, of course, each have their own opinion; one no more valid than the other.
