You don’t really earn Hero Points by boosting or leveling to 80 for your Elite Specialization, other than to unlock it. Once unlocked, you must fill out the Elite Specialization to use all the Traits and Skills associated with it (with more Hero Points).
You can earn more Hero Points (other than the 398 awarded for reaching L80) by completing Hero Challenges in Core Tyria (1 Hero Point per Challenge) or in the release Heart of Thorns maps (10 Hero Points per Challenge) or by exchanging Proofs of Heroics (from WvW) for completion of random Hero Challenges (1 per Core Tyria Hero Challenges, 10 per HoT Hero Challenges).

I don’t know if you would find this palatable, but you might consider playing through with someone else who has started the episode, and then taking credit. I don’t know if it would make any difference (you could minimize the screen before the cutscene – that always made a difference on my computer), but worth a try. The only difficult thing might be finding someone on the same arc and at the same place in the Story.

Which really, really, really kittening sucks for us 2nd-shift workers on the east coast. 2 hours isn’t enough to get the SAB dailies done, which reset while I’m at work.
Exactly how could ANet arrange the schedule to fit everyone in NA, EU, OCE, and Asia? The SAB is going to open at time X, which will be x hrs before dailies; it’s inevitable that someone will be unavailable.
Accordingly, it nearly always makes sense that a company will set release schedules to be convenient to most of its employees — that makes it easier that all hands can be available in case of emergency, that there’s plenty of expertise around to address questions & issues, and that folks aren’t in a perpetual state of burn out.
Easy, start and end it at reset.
I agree that it makes sense to start the events while they’re at work though. But the answer to the first question is easy, start everything at reset.
Have you seen the ‘concern’ threads when patches are released near reset? I don’t think that is a solution some would appreciate.
Not to mention requiring overtime for the Devs to take care of any issues that crop up. Or would you rather the issues wait a day?
Well, things like World Bosses, Dungeons, and Fractals rarely show up in the regular Dailies. I think most players do the fastest Dailies available, and move on to other content, or are finished for the day.
Fractal Dailies are a separate category. Are you suggesting a revamp for Fractal Dailies? If so, that would be something different, and might attract more response in the Dungeon/Fractal/Raid sub-forum.

HoT is also required to access the dailies, for whatever reason.
why does Course Work then only provide half a weapon skin in compensation?
Course Work gives you 1 token. Course Load gives you the weapon box, which is primarily meant for the orange skins, but has 8 tokens as an alternative. It’s meant to be a daily grind.
The different prices is due to 2h vs 1h weapons. Offhand weapons are even cheaper because they’re overshadowed.
Only temporarily, as the Devs are looking into the issue (of SAB Dailies requiring HoT).
I’ve never heard that particular concern (that content after completing Dailies became less rewarding). I don’t know why content would become more, or less, profitable because of Dailies. Events reward the same, before and after Dailies. Many players (that have capped their Daily APs) eschew Dailies in favor of other content, so they post.
I would imagine a Google search would reveal, at least some of, the threads about ‘too many currencies’. If this new currency was Wallet-bound only, I suppose there would not be much concern. /shrug

If you are new to the game, you might consider creating another character (or even with your Boosted L80 character, though you miss out on the tutorial and rewards) and playing through the Core Personal Story, then, perhaps, purchasing Living World Season Two (story) and playing through that so that you learn a bit about what’s going on in Heart of Thorns.

I’m not sure I understand the pay-off of this suggestion. If post-Daily activity has “fairly high activity” (in your words) already, what would the purpose be of creating yet another currency (which is an oft-seen concern), and Reward table that would cost Dev resources?

Is it much different than being defeated where there is no rezzing (like in Dungeons, I think)? Except that you can move around in the ‘box’?
I don’t know…it reminded me of Guild Wars (except no ‘click on Party Member to watch the action’).
Perhaps, with all the feedback, there won’t be a ‘penalty box’, anymore, just laying where one falls (maybe with the option to be rezzed, maybe not). /shrug

Perhaps, SAB features will release (fully) with the SAB release (tomorrow). /shrug
(Usually when an item shows just numbers, it’s a placeholder [for future content]).
Just a guess.
You need 5 Mastery Points before you can unlock that feature. (The while highlighted stars (Mastery Point unlocks) show where the 3 you possess would go.)

We just had a quest to acquire Weapon(s) and skins just previous to this latest BLTC offering. Have you looked acquiring all those Weapons?
Did you try a -repair of the client? Did you speak to the Tech CS Team about the issue? What did they suggest? Have you run diagnostics to see if you are experiencing packet loss?
It’s not 400, but 480. It’s a typo that would normally read 600 Gems.

I’m not sure where the ‘2000 Gems’ comes from, seems an arbitrary number. Of course, no one is forced to purchase anything, sans the game itself (and any expansions for added content). Actually, with Play4Free, one is not even forced to purchase the game, come to think of it.

Yes I’ve read that , but this isn’t just about current development, but also the indefinite future. Back in 2013 they said they plan to do four world altogether, and they also said world 3 will come with red weapons and 4 with purple.
Now that red weapons entered the picture without W3 being added, I fear they permanently decided to cancel all future worlds. Now despise this, there is still a chance W3 & 4 isn’t canceled, but if they are, I don’t want to get disappointed each and every year.

ArenaNet already has players to play game modes/content and report back to them. I’m unsure if all are volunteers (PlayTesters), or some are on the payroll.

How do I attach screenshots to a ticket? I’m having the same problem, and running Pingplotter suggests it’s on their side (I’m not really experienced with this though).
Once the CS Team sends the automated response (“Thank you for contacting us…”), you can reply to that email, or the Team Member’s actual response email, and attach any additional information (such as screenshots).

Here’s my guess as to what happened:
I noted that there was an off-topic post between AP’s last two listings, something along the lines of “I hope that x items(s) will show up during the sale.” I didn’t report it myself, it was short and didn’t cause a derail, but it seems likely to me that a mod chose to delete the post and accidentally deleted the thread instead.
Hopefully the thread can be restored from the Trashcan. It’s far too useful to lose.
I think it was the truly rude and inappropriate post that was removed (as well as the above-mentioned post); probably accidentally removed the whole thread. As noted, it’s now back; clean and pure. =)
Again, the OP asked about ‘Server Time’ which is Pacific Time. His/her post asked during Standard Time; my initial post was during Daylight Saving Time (the difference between UTC -8 and UTC -7).
