Monitoring enemy health and switching to a different target once the first one is about to die to maximize illusion uptime is part of mesmer’s gameplay, I actually like that concept.
If you think illusions only do dmg when shattered, you are running the wrong build.
If you think you lose all effectiveness, when your illusions die, you are running the wrong build.I’m sorry, as much as I’d love to see this happen (I think every mesmer would XP), it would be WAY too overpowered. Simple as that.
I guess he was referring to clones there.
They said that they’re working on it few months ago. As usual, nothing ever happened though.
Good luck, I hope they didn’t change their attitude towards this. Try seaching the forums for a reference case in case they don’t want to help you.
I actually stuck with a normal mouse after trying out different MMO mice and got a Logitech G13 instead, using the thumbstick instead of WSAD.
Just as an additional idea for people trying to be more competitive by moving from clicking to using hotkeys.
Then I’m looking forward to the next release I guess. Won’t blame you for things you’re not responsible for now, I usually like your work.
given the time the designer had to work on the instance, I think he did a great job.
Hm, all you’re currently releasing is living world content as far as I’m aware of, and most of it doesn’t seem to require a lot of work except the Molten Weapons Facility. How can he not have had enough time to work on this, and why did he have to do it alone? Makes you wonder how many designers there are to begin with.
There are a lot of Bug Fixes and other enhancements to the game that they are working on like a proper LFG tool. The living world content is mostly something to keep us busy and entertained while they work on polishing the core game. Once that is mostly done they will likely shift a lot of members on over to the Expansion team.
TL;DR multiple teams working on multiple things. More is released in a patch then just new content.
Designers don’t work on those things, they’re designers, they design content. As you said, there are multiple teams that are qualified for different aspects of development.

stop defending broken mechanics we all know what makes the mesmer pull broken is the ability to pull people over walls
lol
I am in similar situation. I have bought 2 ring with same name and i cant equip both. I cant belive i have wasted 35 laurels because of that.
Did you contact support? They exchanged items for another one in cases people didn’t understand the meaning of unique in the past.
Really sounds like a good idea.

Say "summons" instead of clones. It also targets pets (and even critters, wtf).
So you think that Anet cannot fix this for weeks ? :O
We all know how good they are at fixing bugs. They’ll probably fix it but introduce another one that’s even worse.
Iiirc the other ones are only hideable because of clipping issues.
If they could just change the tooltip instead of actually fixing the skill, they’d probably have done this already.
They’re already tracking durations and owners of stacks, that shouldn’t be an issue. It’s just lazyness on their side as usual.
Considering they already know about and commented on it, that won’t help. As they said, they cannot find the issue (and tell us it’s just a display issue later on). As sad as that may be, that’s how it is. Programming skills at ANet, yay.
Although I like the change:
Seems there are about 1million other things that should have been more important to fix.
This.
Just cause ecto price has risen doesn’t mean they nerfed the rate. Could just be speculators.
Or increased demand. Because of WvW ascended accessories for example.
This one loads a lot faster for me:
http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html
Just jump to a world where the temples are open.
http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html
Depends on what you want to do with your karma. You can also get cheap exotics at the TP for most slots and temple items don’t cover all stat combinations. Considering you don’t need much karma, except for a legendary, you can normally spend it on armor and trinkets though.
Please no chainsaw. But since it’s already in the game files, it probably also has it’s final design. I just hope it’s not another mining pick, rotated by 90 degrees -.-
I agree that this is unneeded and op considering the rate at which we can output new illusions. And considering how we’re stealth nerfed with each patch, it won’t happen anyway. They should better fix existing bugs instead of changing basic game mechanics.
That reply refers to another problem with the animation being too long and uninterruptible. This thread is about it being just plain wrong for a harvesting tool.
There’s another tool incoming, this time for logging, they’ll probably use the same animation again but rotated by 90 degrees...
When I first read it, I thought of "Kanak", which is quite insulting. Considering ANet’s policy of punishing people for almost everything that could be slightly insulting to some indigene at the end of the world because it means something different in their language, that’s not the best choice imo.
We all assume that, but the reality is that we don´t know what is that golem, why is he there or why we have to kill him. Storytelling has been incredible awfull this time.
Read the blog posts?

NULL actually means ZERO in german, which is quite funny.
It’s a term mainly used in programming with a similar meaning anyway, so it’s a pun aimed at the golem being a machine destroying everything.
In the end, I’ll keep on playing. But I’m more and more switching to an attitude where I just tell people not to start playing GW2 and complaining on the forums and in the chat more than actually playing, which is a bad sign and usually the end. The amount of "we don’t care" that ANet shows is just stunning. Same with right click targeting and stuff like that, it’s just pathetic and sad.
+1, it’s just plain wrong. Even if it’s meant to be more of a hoe than a sickle (judging by the model), nobody would ever harvest like that. You’d just destroy everything. I consider it as a bad case of lazyness on ANet’s side, it’s a paid item and still they just copied the pick’s animation over.
It was reported and they saw it: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/southsun/Issues-with-Consortium-Harvesting-Sickle/first#post2110205
Since updates are mainly based around figures guys, you know what you have to do if you want to see the bugs fixed : drop GS, don’t use it anymore. If they notice a sudden big drop in the use of GS from mesmers, maybe they’ll think about fixing it.
…The funny thing is…our only respectable direct damage dps weapons are Sword and GS…it isn’t even funny, there IS NO other weapon for zerker builds. Time for Zerker Mesmers to go MH sword for both weapon sets.
I’ve honestly switched over at this point. I still use GS, but its half and half with sword now. Sword offers a lot too, and has a working phantasm. :x
Unfortunately, sword/sword features two broken leap skills since leap in itself is broken -.-
So, did it go live with that screwed up animation or does it actually look different now?
Didn’t recommend it because it costs more than your limit was, but good choice
We have not forgotten about this. Sometimes as certain features get used by more of the game, it reveals issues that lead to a redesign. For instance, now that you can right click on people in PvP while spectating to switch follow cameras, accidental right-clicks can be far more disorienting than selecting a new target.
Cheer up! Now it’ll take them just a few more years to fix it…
6 stacks of might on a ranger’s juvenile spider -.-
It’s just players have a different definition for “down the road” and “in the future”, just like “rare chance”. Causes a lot of misunderstandings. Also most players aren’t software developers, it can take months from idea to implementation that doesn’t break something like the economy, profession balance, etc.
True enough, we also try to avoid putting timelines on anything due to the volatility that comes with live development, and if we’re ever wrong folks tend to not respond terribly well to it.
One of the fun things about live MMO development: all the steps that things have to go through to make it live. Generally a feature needs to be done 2+ weeks before it can go live, so it can get locked down and separated from everything else in development to be tested in isolation with the live game to verify it doesn’t function different in a server filled with development code vs. what’s going to go live. Before this lock down, the feature needs to be done with core development about 1-2 weeks earlier to allow downstream teams like localization, editing, and audio to have time to complete their work after the content teams are complete so content isn’t changing out from under them. And if any VO is used in the feature, all the recorded text needs to be completed 4+ weeks earlier than that to allow all of our localization VO partners to get all the correct staff in studio to record all the VO to match the english recording after the first batch of VO is recorded.
Most of this year we’ve been having a release once every month, which means if a feature has a lot of issues during testing and we need to make a lot of updates and pukitten back, it could be multiple months until it gets into the next one due to all the lead time required before something ships in game. The amount of steps required to get something live is pretty staggering, I just covered some of the high level steps above but there are a lot more than this.
We’ve actually been re-working this pipeline a bit lately in the background to try and speed it up (thus 2 releases in a row with 2 weeks separating instead of 4) but it still makes it really hard for us to give exact dates. A little peak behind the curtain how development works, there are around 300 folks working at ArenaNet, but a lot of them have nothing to do with building the feature, and instead provide all the support required to get that feature live. It’s why very few live games do frequent updates to their products, but we’re trying to find innovative ways to buck that trend and update more frequently.
It’s truly pathetic to read such an appeasing post and then see what “thoroughly tested” means when your patches actually hit live.
I made a thread in bugs report. Hopefully, since this affects all classes’ bouncing skills, it will be fixed much quicker than izerker.
Is this confirmed, do other classes have the same issues?
I just tested it during normal gameplay and almost never got might since a clone or phantasm is usually closer to the target.
When I can play 20+ hours on a chilled weekend, it gives me 12 laurels, no matter how long I actually play. When I login each day of the month for half an hour, that’s just 15 hours total and gives me 40 laurels. Sounds legit. What’s the definition of long time and dedication there? Time gates are a kittened game mechanic, especially when they don’t mean the same for everybody.
Maybe anet should take PvE players rings away and give them back after they pay 25 laurels/ring.
Why? The primary way to get rings has always been Fractals. Laurels allowed a secondary means of purchase if you chose to not do Fractals.
Asc should have never been allowed in WvW in the first place.
Only reason people are complaining is that it requires laurels, thus people are unable to login and fully stack on ascended gear.
Quite ironic the MMO community. They want progression and something to work towards to, but at the same time they all want it from the get go.
It’s amazing Anet even does anything for WvW’rs considering how toxic the WvW community is.
Personally love the update.
Nobody was asking for vertical progression except a few former WoW players.
I actually stopped reading when I saw those 25 laurels and 250 badges for an Ascended Ring.
First I stopped reading, then I couldn’t stop laughing. Just… wow. That’s completely kittened.
Why? Nothing wrong at all with that, especially when you consider there are now three WvW specific items available on the daily and getting the other two will continue to be ridiculously easy.
Yeah, when you can play every day that may be cool. I’m not a “casual” player in the usual sense, I can only play a few days per month but then for a long time. Which means I can complete the monthly and maybe five to ten dailies, missing out on 20-25 others. It’ll take me forever to get full asc gear when asc armor and weapons are also available, and that’s only one set then. And when everything’s available, it will make a noticeable difference in stats. That’s why.
undocumented change: illusionary elasticity can now bounce on clones and phantasms. pretty happy about this one.
That’s actually cool if it’s true. Seems like they always forget to mention the cool stuff in the patch notes
/e: got that one wrong. Thanks for another unrectified ninja nerf.

No fix today, my love has gone away
The zerker stands for lorn, a symbol of the dawn
No fix today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don’t know the reason why
How could they know just what this message means
The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know the palace there had been
Behind the door where my zerker reigned as queen
...
- Phantasmal Warlock skill: The damage skill fact now displays accurately.
- Prismatic Understanding trait: Now functions with torch’s The Prestige skill.
- Portal Exeunt skill: Casting during the last second before the portal expires no longer fails to create the entrance.
- Veil skill: The skill fact now indicates the correct stealth duration (2 seconds).
- Illusion of Drowning skill: No longer able to affect targets at infinite range. Now respects line of sight.
- Clones now attack ranger pets even if the ranger is out of range.
Again no Zerker fix. Actually, nothing I’d care about has been fixed or improved. But at least we can buy a White Kitten. Slow clap.
This month will be focused on bug fixes, with balance coming in later patches!
Shame on you, Jonathan. Shame on you.

Bumpity bump
Need some input before the orders are processed!
Shoot first, ask later?
The former is true for the sixth bonus of ogre too But yeah, as I said it’s more likely to be hit and fall below 90% in PvP/WvW, so both have their advantages.
I’m actually using neither but runes of the eagle instead :p
Maybe the animation will be replaced when the patch hits live.
You get more with scholar though, including a flat +10% damage while above 90% health, which you’ll usually be in PvE (which already implies that you’re rarely hit, so the ogre effect won’t trigger often and it’s on a long internal CD anyway). So I guess it depends on what you’re playing more.
So it’s only really useful in WvW roaming/PvP when you’re actually being hit.
-ogre runes
Why choose ogre over scholar?
