Precursors Drop Rate

Most people with issues about it are obviously the ones who had “bad luck” and who knows a couple of guys with “good luck”.

There are millions of accounts in this game, your sample size of “guys I know” is simply too small to reflect the actual probability to get a precursor to drop every time you roll for loot plus other factors like magic find, diminishing returns etc..

Scenario: Will I get into trouble?

@op
To be honest it’s not a big deal at all, it takes a minute or two from start to killing the spider queen.

It could be a friend going online to join(yeah I know that sucks but the timing isn’t something like 50-90% of the dungeon is already done and they probably just wanna play with their friend instead of a pug and not kick a pug so a friend could get the end rewards scenario).

I went through a similar scenario, joined “80 exp zerks only” in TA and saw a bear bow in the party with green-white grade skins with less than 1k ap with all 3 of the wrong signets.

I promptly said in party chat “bear bow” and initiated a kick and someone seconded(because anyone with a common sense would know the guy was just leeching and I’m not keen on taking a second ranger if he isn’t gonna contribute personal DPS at all).

A guy screamed at party chat no, etc.(some hammer camping guard lol) The bear bow got re invited and I was kicked.

So all in all it’s just a pair of guys wanting to be carried and kicking anyone that call them out for it.

Long story short, you probably are better off not continuing with that party early on instead of the last boss
(there wasn’t significant progress wherein you wasted time and were just adding a friend who just got online or they were just bad and wanted extra help at the start like you implied, but we won’t really know I guess).

A screenshot of the LFG post would’ve been very helpful in this case, as it is we don’t know why the kick happened in the first place.

It really was just “P1 80s”.

The guy doesn’t dispute that and says that they had some new requirement in the dungeon which conveniently, wasn’t communicated.

Please see screens provided in my post above.

PS. You also don’t usually kick someone who could stack with you and beat the SQ together.

I’d imagine a mesmer not popping a readied mantra of resolve when it was helpful would be a cause for a kick but then again that’s kinda too picky for “p1 80’s”. Maybe they asked you to use a certain skill like TW and you didn’t comply(in say chat and you weren’t in range to receive the chat)? It could be your fault or theirs or simply a miscommunication.

It could be anything but you really shouldn’t be bothered because there are worse kittenbaggery that happen to other people that will not get the kittenbags “in trouble” (soloing arah and giving the run away for free and getting kicked from their own run etc.).

Rebalance Dungeon Rewards?

@op

You do realize that 99% of “L80 Zerk Exp ONLY!™” LFG’s aren’t “hostile” or “elitist” at all.

Unless they gear check or REALLY care to ask your builds you end up with the same people in “everyone welcome” in the party.

FYI: No one is asking you to play how they want. They just don’t want you in their parties.

I know this is extremely hard concept to grasp but I’ll try to explain it.

You can’t force your way into an activity where the organizer demands certain requirements or else you are just being rude and inconsiderate.

If you don’t share the same views as the organizer you can simply organize your own activity.

How do you interpret the term "exp" from LFG?

[suggestion] Change how daily rewards work

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

What if someone feels like running nothing but dungeons one day, wvw another, stick to crafting on another day, etc.

It’s stupid dictating people what to play when.
HECK, they even removed alts being able to repeat dungeons by putting it to account bound, could that be one of the solutions, sure…

So many people stopped playing because of excessive daily gating.
Is daily stuff good for a game, yeah, but gating too much behind a daily block is just a big annoyance

Good example is how you have to find a commune spot every day for that cristal. Why not allow people to do 7 for the week, so stupid. So much running around for a lot of small things that keep adding up.

Having a daily checklist is just an annoyance that breaks immersion and siphons the fun out of the game. I wish they didnt “update/improve” the game, it was much better @ beta/launch, so many horrible things they did to the game.

Let’s get something clear first, the +40 tokens and gold Daily Chest you get is a bonus/an incentive to entice people to do different dungeon paths in a day, running CoF P1 7 times in a row during the weekends isn’t exactly what the game wants to promote.

A normal dungeon tour takes 3-4 hours, if let’s say you have 10 hours to play on the weekend then 6-8 hours is already taken off if you run a proper dungeon tour(not spamming CoF P1, SE P1 etc. 7 times in a row mind you).

Also, allowing daily bonus to be acquired by different characters will be an unlimited faucet for gold/dungeon tokens that will lead to more inflation and negatively affect certain markets.

I personally have experience with this for the Nightmare Coil, people could farm thousands of blossoms daily and resulted to oversupply of Nightmare Coils. Sure you can run it all day but the gold you can acquire by selling the Nightmare Coil hits rock bottom because there is no limit to how many blossoms can be farmed daily.

Same thing can be said with daily ascended crafting, you can only sell now with profit because of the time gate, if not for this you can look at other crafting materials and see how little to no profit crafting is there.

Critique on PvE Power Build

Hi all, I’m new to ranger; have a fairly fresh level 80. I’m looking at this point to map complete with her and was hoping you can give me some advice on my PvE build. Once I’ve got PvE land mapped I can look at a WvW build, but that’s not what I need atm.

This is what I came up with. I can have a LB for a backup ranged weapon. How are the numbers for power, health, crit chance, etc? Are traps more useful than other skills for mapping? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks! Oh, I should note that right now I only have 4 traits due to ANet’s kitteny kitten screwed kitten trait system, so I’d like to lock down a build and only buy/obtain the traits I really need right now.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNMQNAR8XjUqUva5Kurw1ag8ga9DEAnO7QYFaBXLcGPlyrJ-ThEBABSoE0BTKMckASwcVGHQAtvAAGpUBq9HOSJVOqKUwDAYFdC4oWDAHgAPOIApopBJlBBcAEIFQFDjA-e

You can run full berserkers without any problems, just be sure to pack some harpy feathers and jump guns to have an easier time with some skill points/vistas.

Sword/Warhon + GS is unbeatable if you want to zip across the map fast. You can always swap weapons anyways so you aren’t locked to this set if you aren’t comfortable fighting with them.

Drakes are your best bet for mindless mapping too. Most stuff die fast anyway even with drakes but the cleave is great vs felines + they can tank without being too low dps like a bear.

Equipment Tab item filter not working

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Izaya.2906

Izaya.2906

Before the feature patch when you left click a slot in your Equipment Tab(Hero Panel) the correct filter is applied and applicable items appear on the left side of the UI.

Examples would be left-clicking on an offhand weapon slot and only offhand weapons appear on the left side of the UI, left clicking on an amulet would only show amulets in your inventory. This allowed swapping items on that slot easily with only 1 left click without having to sort through unusable items for the highlighted slot.

Now everything in your inventory is included even if they can’t be used for that slot.

I left clicked on the “Amulet” slot and even the weapons are still shown in the item UI. The filter correctly says “Amulet” but non-amulet items are not filtered out.

Actually this is the quietest you can get and maintain performance.

What you linked is a GTX750Ti, while a great card for the price, the OP already has a card of this class or similar. So why buy another one.

The Image attached is my 280X with a MK-26 Cooler from Prolimatech, the Fans are 2k RPM set at about 900rpm. They are not audible at all.

the MK-26 is rated for 320w TDP, so it will also work on a 290x and 780Ti.

My temps are under 60c while gaming, and under 70c while mining (LTC), while idle temps are 35c~

It DOESN’T get better then this, unless you go Water.

he wants:
1680×1050
Constant 60 FPS most of the time (vsync on)
Has most settings on high
Can run with AA on

I just don’t believe in wasting money if that’s the goal and quiet operation.

I was running an MSI 660TI Twin Frozer card but it was running a bit warm (80 degrees) and was rather loud.

I tried updating the bios on it using MSI updater (hoping the update might help) – which seems to have now killed the card

So I am running on my old MSI 560ti card at present and looking at purchasing a new GPU.

Can anyone recommend a card that will run

1680×1050
Constant 60 FPS most of the time (vsync on)

Any recommendations on a card that can do all that without taxing the card to much – so that it is quiet.

I guess the main problem I would see with traiting for quick draw would be the losing on the pet being capped at 25 might. So have to see if it would be justified.

With good enough crit rate, barrage + rapid fire could instantly cap pet to 25 might, switching to sword could mantain a good amount.

Fortifying bond or RaO + QZ , Barrage/RF/Hunter’s Call(before getting in combat) = cap pet might stacks,

Btw. I have a ranger question about this new meta thingy with the longbow: Presuming that there is a fight that takes a bit longer, how often do you go back to longbow for the vulnerability? Or would you simply ditch the longbow in those cases and work with for example sword+horn, sword+axe/dagger (for the extra dodge), greatsword or some such?

Because going back to longbow every 10 seconds for the rapidfire and then camping longbow AA for 7 seconds feels weird. And if you only go back to the longbow every 30 seconds for when barrage is ready the vulnerability stacking is somewhat lacklustre in a prolonged fight.

And before someone says something about stuff shouldn’t live that long anyway: There are these weird things called fractals for example, where you actually can’t burn down some mobs that fast. Or if you run with a lot of non-meta players.

You could trait Quick Draw instead to get 2 x RF and Barrage when you swap to LB before you got back to sword.

Whether this is a DPS increase or not I’m not exactly sure yet lol.

Seems like the system is truly broken.

All players should be entitled to a precursor after gambling half what it costs in the TP!

I have only 1 hour to play the game in a week, I should be rewarded a legendary in a month or so they should lower the requirements to 4 hours of game time or maybe 5 to at least require some dedication to acquire this “legendary” luxury item.

Am I doing it this right?

You are not doing it right if you don’t obtain the legendary treasure of treasures: a Credit Card. With this legendary treasure, all other treasures become mere junk.

Wait wut, how am I gonna use a Credit Card if I still go to school and have to do school stuff, I’ll have to use the next best thing, Mom’s Credit Card.

What are your thoughts on current Class Balance in Dungeons, sPvp, and 5 man roaming WvW?

Are there any plans to make classes that lack group utility useful in these game modes? Perhaps more frequent balancing, as in GW1?

Hey Apokripho (cool name btw)!

@balance in different game types: Class balance for those 3 game types differs, based on class and the game type, obviously.

For instance, in WvW, swiftness is a very important tool, while being less crucial in Dungeons (if you’re in fights a lot of the time). What we usually talk about in balance discussions is how some class specs will be stronger in one game type than they are in others, and that’s ok.

@class group utility: I hope I’m reading your meaning correctly on this one. We try to make sure that we spread this stuff out into different “buckets” for each class. So if you have a ton of damage in a spec, you probably won’t have as many ways to dole out tons of CC as well. If a spec does have that, we try to bring down one of those aspects of the spec. For instance, the new Ranger specs we’re seeing dish out a TON of damage at range, but they are relatively squishy if you get right on them (compared to say, a defensive Guardian’s ability to tank damage), and they have no way to really deal with enemy boons effectively.

@more frequent balancing: We do 2 major “modes” of balancing – one is the feature pack balancing, which just happened this week. We try to put out a lot of new stuff for the classes, and try to spread out the changes. Once that happens, we watch the game for a while and listen to the players. This can happen in game, it can happen in VOD’s, Twitch, Youtube, the forums, etc.

After we give a patch a few weeks to settle, we then look at our second mode of course correcting, which is done by making smaller changes if we feel they’re necessary (shaving down something that feels way too powerful, or bringing something up that feels way too under powered), while also scoping out balance changes for the next feature release!

Hope that helps!

-Chap

Hi Chap, what would you consider “shaving down”?

Just recently people have discovered that the ranger’s Frost Spirit has been modified to match the tooltip(35% or 70% chance to deal 10% more damage with 10s ICD).

It has been without an ICD for a while now but with the recent change it amounts to less than a stack of vulnerability and having it traited doesn’t really make a difference (and this goes back to class balance specifically for dungeons where a staple utility like Frost Spirit has been nerfed to being almost useless).

Would you consider this change too drastic and maybe bring it back up to something less underwhelming(specially for dungeon class balance)?

In dungeons?? In wvw i can see how our quicker burst is useful, but what changed for dungeons apart from the frost spirit being nerfed?

Barrage -> Rapid Fire while using SotW and QZ, then swap to sword and axe and use path of scars on cooldown. Use warhorn to stack might before engaging.

That’s how the burst is usefull.

It really depends on your party and the encounter, if you’re pugging normally or not in an optimized group(the situation for most players) and your party takes forever to kill a boss you are better off with Sword + Axe/Torch/Warhorn/Dagger off hands unless you need the block on GS.

Rangers are finally in demand.

in Ranger

Posted by: Izaya.2906

Izaya.2906

If this is true, it proves how bad the playerbase really is. Ranger was in a better spot before the update because of the Frost Spirit.

LB “buff” means nothing. If you use LB in dungs I would immediatelly kick (and my main is a ranger)

Everyone is looking at personal burst DPS right now, it’s pretty obvious that post patch we have a net loss in party DPS if the encounter is long enough.

On the other side of the coin DPS goes through the roof in short boss fights with trash/skips/time gates to get your cooldowns off like CoE and AC(was already the case before the patch but buffed some more with an additional 10% mod on top of the SoTW build prepatch).

Also, if thief is dropped for an engi in a party comp then ranger is the best candidate to pick up conjures.

ever since I started this game I got into necro and have only seen nerf after nerf after oops we broke it #deal with it

Well if you do dungeons at all, there were some significant “fixes” to rangers and eles(Frost Spirit + FGS).

An ele was better than a ranger in all cases. I can’t think of any record with a ranger in it pre patch, and even if there’s one, about all the records were done without. Obviously a ranger was better than a 2nd warrior. Everything is better than a 2nd warrior…

Think about this for a moment. If you ran 2 eles you often had 4x FGS in a fight. Frost spirit was a nice boost to the dmg of those fiery g swords + ranger used to be one of the best of not the best FGS holders, simply because you could boost the dmg with the active effect of signet of the wild + your cat kept attacking at the same time.
About world records here is one from a year ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWQ-39_C8LI

Wich was beaten here without a ranger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps-GgeYdepQ

Anyway, I’m aware of what rangers could bring in a speedrun. What I’m saying is, they were already few reasons to take a ranger over a 3rd/4th ele, and they just totally destroyed the viability of the class in pve. Frost spirit was the only thing that kept rangers in an average spot, and it was already nerfed relatively by the fgs nerf ( less party dps> less need for a party boost over a personal dps boost> rangers are nerfed). A buff worth less than a vuln stack is stupid.

Alright you have a point with the world record thing. Anyhow today someone told me that due to the FS nerf they don’t want me to part-take in their speed clear AC run & this hasn’t happened before. Yeah sure 4warriors+1 mes CoF pugs not wanting me was always normal, but this really made me sad. I spend most of my time in Gw2 with dungeons & now my main which I invested a ridiculous amount of time to make pretty is useless.

LOL that’s sad, I did a tour with my regular party taking 1-2 pugs on my ranger yesterday.

I didn’t notice slower clear times in AC and lower level dungs, picked up the Frost Bow and the dps with the new modifiers is great against big targets.

That being said, 80 dungeons were slower but it could be FGS.

The main selling point of no ICD Frost Spirit was FGS. FGS hits alot of times in a small period of time so the 10% modifier trigger on Frost Spirit was huge. After the FGS nerf it isn’t so much unless you have TW on your party on a short encounter.

Don’t get me wrong, I still want no ICD Frost Spirit back or even a 1s ICD just not 10s ICD lol.

The thing is: We already bring Perma AoE Fury, 5 AoE might and +7% crit for the group.

You can’t buff the support offensive power in rangers THAT much.

Compare to warrior that can give your party near permanent 25 might, permanent fury, indestructible dmg bonus banners that are roughly 8% dps increase for strength banner and well over 10% for discipline banner.

I might be wrong about this one… But being able to do that… Don’t they sacrifice almost all their damage? Isn’t might stacking through the Sword, which is condi based?
(I haven’t played much of a Warrior myself, but my friend have and he used to tell me about the builds)

Not really, its still power based and going for Phalanx Strength.

I think a lot of people on this forum (and other game-focused forums, for that matter) cannot really grasp this concept. Using a CPU for something other than games? Preposterous! Pinheaded! Poppyc- no, wait, can’t say that because of censoring. Poppykittens do sound interesting though.

Yeah, if you’re planning to do other stuff, particularly video encoding and the like (which I’ve worked with myself for a year), I’d strongly recommend sacrificing a bit of single-threaded power in favor of multi-threading. And like I said before, the 8350 works just fine with GW2. I reckon you’ll see a small dip in performance, but not enough to make you say “this game is unplayable now”.

There are a lot of reasons why I still wouldn’t run a 8350 AMD CPU, and most of them are not only gaming. The TDP and Wattage of that 8 core CPU vs the performance of the Intel offerings is one reason.

Another reason is the FX8370e :-) Yes, I would totally sell off a FX8350 and buy a FX8370e when those new cpus ship.

It amounts to like 5-6$ difference a year in your electric bill compared to an i5, a better part to save electricity on is the GPU.

That being said, benchmarks show 8370e is 3-4 FPS lower than the regular version and 1-2 FPS lower than the 8350 so you’re better off with the non e 8370 or 8350.

its not about the power savings, its about the lower TDP (better Binning) and the better performance gains from Overclocking that CPU.

Well there is a supposed performance optimization coming in next week’s patch so things can only get better.

That being said, 8350 isn’t bad at all, specially if you stream your gaming session.

Dungeon grouping - the real solution.

Izaya.2906

Problems:
1. Two buddies/guildies/jerks kick others “because”.
2. Dungeon owner rage quits, all goes to pot.
3. Party remainds more of an airport – ppl fly in and out before you know it.

Solution
1.Rather then paying out the dungeon reward at end, split it among dungeon chests that appear after you’ve beaten certain dungeon bosses.

Each such chest is subject to “daily clear” detrimental rewards system – full reward on first loot, much smaller for next, untill next day.

2. Majority vote on kicking.
3. Ownerless dungeons, which you’re already implementing. But only when first two fixes are present!

Result
You get rewarded as you progress, if you get booted at 60% of dungeon completion, you already have at least 40% of rewards in your pocket if not full 60% (getting to chest before they kick you). Kicking lfg members before end boss to sneak guildies in won’t ring anyone’s bell, with measely 20% reward from this scam.

Ragequit leaders won’t crush the dungeon, “airport” parties will not see their final members get full reward, while all the previous got near zilch.

You can thank me later :>

Not gonna happen, they “fixed” arah p3 so people couldn’t farm the first bosses by modifying the reward.

If all paths have the similar reward system people would just farm them and skip the time consuming parts (already happening with SE p1 right now, I’m really surprised Anet hasn’t “fixed” SE p1 yet lol).

Dungeon Instance Owner change FTW

As I mentioned in my thread on the topic, it would be great to have the number of needed kick votes increased to 3, to minimize griefing resulting from this change. Personally I always started my own dungeon parties to avoid kick-happy couples. Now there’s nothing to kep me safe. 2 votes have always been a bad idea, anyway. Not even a majority.

I actually agree with you. I would have liked to increase the vote count a majority with this change, but unfortunately not all the pieces of code around party votes are set up in a way to make this a quick and easy change.

We were aware of the possible issues with the instance ownership change, but felt that holding back an improvement to the base experience on account of trolls was unfair to users that are playing nice.

Stealing instances using the LFG tool, or booting people for no reason (or to give your buddy the rewards for no work) at the end of a run are bannable offenses and should be reported.

How about we settle for the middle ground?

Player A is the dungeon instance starter:

If Player A leaves the party the instance he started will still be alive.

If Player A disconnects and is automatically booted from the game by the server the instance he started will be alive.

If Player A gets kicked from the party the instance he started will be terminated or you can alternatively make Player A immune to kicks. Do whatever is easier to implement.

Why does it matter if it’s “better”? Sounds like they recoded the section in the renderer that handles displaying other players.

So you dont care what they did, just if its better?

Curious from a technical standpoint only. But since none of us have detailed knowledge of the internal structure of the game engine and how it handles non-static or game controlled objects like players, any info given would be mostly meaningless.

“We’ve changed the way many of the underlying systems work, making them more cost-effective, which will reduce how often players will be seeing issues caused by performance. This is most notable in large combat situations like WvW and at the PvE world boss events.”

This sounds like a restructuring of other player information management and rendering. I don’t think it has much to do with improving multithreading, 64-bit client or any upgrade from Dx9. And if it was something like capping particles or even a setting they would mention that, so to me it sounds like it’s a substantially under the hood change that would be meaningless to describe to the masses.

Well it would be nice if they released benchmarks post-patch, specially for AMD products which really suffer great FPS loss during those events.

Having a benchmark to simulate a 100+ player event would be nice so we can properly compare hardware when upgrading/building for the game.

Make All Dungeons Open World

I keep hearing about how dungeons are being dropped as a development focus for Open World (presumably Living Story – seeing as how new maps are off the table as well) content.

Well, why not integrate existing dungeons into the Open World then, as a way to make them more accessible, and remove the problem of them being forgotten content?

What is a dungeon, really? It’s just an instance

You could remove the instancing part, and the cut-scenes (alternatively, you could have something similar to a Vista at key points in the open world dungeon, that play a video that brings people up to date on what’s happened here before).

All of these of course would be post-storymode.

It’s an easy fix to incorporating something you’ve abandoned into the world as a whole.

If you’re going to focus on Open World, then make everything Open World – don’t just abandon it.

If I could make a poll, I would.

It’s an instance where you have relative control on most factors in your party where you get rewarded better according to how you perform. It maybe faceroll right now but it is 100x less faceroll than open world pve or the need to organize 100’s of players and have your success depend whether or not the zerg of players can follow simple instructions.

I’d rather have dungeons die a slow horrible death of no development than to dumb it down more to tagging to get credit or be forced to depend on alot of more people for success in clearing the content..

Question: If you’d rather “have dungeons die a slow horrible death” – then why do you actually care if they became open world or not?

What I meant was no one running it anymore and neglecting it, not deleting the instanced content and replacing it with mindless/organized zerg content.

What you’re suggesting is not a “dungeon” anymore, I kindly point you to staff 1 farming or jungle wurm for the content you’re suggesting. One is just pushing a button to get loot and the other one is organizing longer than what the actual content will take to beat with too many people that can ruin your run.

Cost of precursor on TP

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Izaya.2906

Izaya.2906

The number of threads are due to the unreasonable expectations of players that don’t play to earn what is necessary to own a legendary. Anet even has a solution for those people; Ascended weapons.

Or it’s due to the reasonable expectations of players that ANet is choosing not to meet. Really, when players demand a feature that would take thousands of manhours of work on ANet’s part, then it’s easy to chalk that up as something that is potentially unreasonable, but when it’s something that would be as easy to fix as changing a single number in a loot table, it’s hard to argue that the players’ expectations of fairness are unreasonable. EVERY player who has been playing since launch should have a Legendary by now, most should have two, almost none should have more than that, that is the reasonable expectation. That there are plenty who have none, few who have multiples, and a decent number who have several is not a symptom of a game in which players have an unreasonable expectation that they should have legendaries of their own. That ANet felt the need to hand out achievements to players that were lucky enough to have TWO legendaries while many have none is a sign of an economy off kilter.

And precursor crafting wouldn’t solve the “problem” for everyone.

It’ll only benefit individuals who are only missing a precursor to craft a legendary, others who acquired a precursor first or haven’t done much at all will face higher t6/lodestones prices balancing out with the cheaper/easier precursor acquisition.

Further side effect of that is that T6/lodestones are tied to exotic/ascended crafting and will increase the cost to craft those weapons/armors. Players who wanna craft exotic/ascended(obviously a majority compared to players who want to craft legendary) will have to deal with higher material prices for the items they want to craft.

s/x vs gs

Edit: Funny thing is I still use GS like I use sword – manually hitting 1. I usually don’t bother selecting a target or pick a target that’s not in range (a trick to get your pet to attack something other than what you’re attacking) and hit 1 to swing. Sometimes you can use this to time GS’ autoattack evade to match with an opponent’s big attack. Only when the combat is predictable do I select a nearby target and rely on the autoattack.

Lol, I picked up the same habit, even when playing other classes I end up pressing the auto attack button.

s/x vs gs

Each auto attack should get like 7% dmg increase i think. Or they need to make the sword skills a little more useful. Unless you have conditions build which is rare then the sword skills are just pointless.

You already stated that you feel sword skills are useless, if you put GS and Sword dps at par with each other, what role will the sword fill in PVE?

After the incoming patch, GS will still be your burst damage melee AoE weapon with some improvement on its AoE capabilities and a very small auto-attack buff.

Sword will still be highest single target DPS with the most uptime on the new +10% damage trait.

There is of course the consideration of needing to be in max melee range or not for encounters that can make GS a better choice at the expense of giving up some damage.
If they “fixed” the leaping portion of Sword auto-attack chain like what they mentioned last April, GS wouldn’t be necessary for this situation anymore.

Why doesn't Anet tell us their plans

Ok so I have seen lots of post on reddit and on these forums, of people saying that ANet needs to release some sort of road map or overview of their plans. These people are also asking why ANet is not doing this. Let me provide you with a reminder.

Have you forgotten the backlash from the community that ANet received when it was casually mentioned in a deployment blog during beta that dyes would be account bound and then at launch along with the dye unlocking system being completely changed, dyes were also character bound instead of account bound.

I can understand why ANet is fearful of releasing an official roadmap. If they received such negative abuse from the community over such a small detail that was never officially promised, imagine how they think the community would react if the final version did not match exactly how they laid it out in the road map or had to be delayed for some reason.

ANet was originally very open about their development, but the vocal negative minority of the community crushed that and forced ANet to be more selective with what they release to the public.

Dev Player communication is a two way street of respect, the community dropped the ball early on and now we have to deal with the consequences of that.

Content creation isn’t an easy task.

Most stuff aren’t even ready a day before the release(and sometimes after release).

If you promise x and then can’t deliver for some reason or another, then it would be worse than not promising x in the first place.

They already got burned with announcing precursor hunt/crafting and similar unfulfilled plans so I guess they simply learned their lesson.

It’s not the community, every game has people who will always nitpick and criticize (both positive and negative) every detail of a content release.

sword-torch build

Okay, this is strictly speaking for dungeons.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQRAsf8XnMqQrg2qCmsAXLGYPoWGABc3h4a5mBqQJSA-TxRBABPt/wVK/wT/QenEAAeCAUq+jZKBDAcA48zP/8zPvf/93f/93RBERA-e

If you are pugging, this is more recommended than the standard 4/5/0/5/0 build, as is any higher personal dps build vs trying to apply modifiers to pugs who may be bringing crappy base DPS in the first place.

Always pack a warhorn for prestacking might/skips and GS for max melee damage/skip. LB is optional depending on your personal skill level and content knowledge.

Use your torch for prestacking might if an external fire field isn’t provided in the party. Torch #5, blast with WH #5 and switch back to Torch if your team can provide Fury throughout the rest of the encounter. If the party needs your warhorn for Fury uptime then you should never swap it out for torch or axe offhand.

So your options are S/Axe + S/Torch, or S/Axe + S/Wh and of course the encounters where you need 2 handers.

Your typical damage rotation with Torch & Axe will be Torch #4 while running to get in melee range or luring, Torch #5, Swap, Axe #4, Jaguar F2, Sic ’EM +QZ, auto-attacks,Axe #4 on cooldown, swap then repeat with Torch #5. Same thing for axe and warhorn offhands, but you must also mind timing your WH #5 with external fields if there are any.

Don’t run it at stock settings, the goal for running it is to stress your GPU with a realistic “game like” application. It’d make no sense of you don’t test for maximum utilization.

When testing for overclocks or even verifying if a new gpu is okay I run Furmark for a few minutes and actually play games/run gaming benchmarks for a couple of hours on settings that can push the utilization to 100%.

Run it on Ultra HD settings and let it loop for a an hour or two.

Also, when you try underclocking, test for AMD stock settings, that means 1000MHz core clock and 1200MHz on the memory.

In theory, your GPU should throttle down if its overheating, maybe it’s the VRM overheating? Try monitoring with GPU-Z/msi afterburner or other similar programs.

You could also try a fresh install of the latest AMD WHQL drivers.

Edit: Just read your gpu died, well that just sucks

I really appreciate and enjoy how the game supports the “i play how i want” style.

Tho… I’d even more apreciate to be able to exclude those from my sight who try(and do) spoil the way i play the game.

I usually play 2-3 hours per day, spending 1.5h duoing TA aetherpath with my friend.
I do this because it’s one of the most challening content in the game, and i enoy challenges. Besides that i’d really like to get some Aetherized Nightmare skins.

And since it’s confirmed that selling legit dungeons is legit, we usually sell the last boss.

I don’t see what i am doing wrong, but i usually end up people joining my party, accusing us with exploiting, lying to others not to pay bacause we stole his money, or if he is not alone then they kick the host, reseting the whole dungeon… They joined, kicked the host, and left before my loading screen disappeared. Then i advertised the dungeon again, so they joined again, got their name, before i got kicked again. Is this the only was to get their names?

I know their names, but im not that kind of person seeking revange, i could invite them to a high level fractal and kick them on the last boss, but… well im not angry… just sad because they are free to bully me from playing the way i want.

So im just quitting this game until this issue gets solved.
Either block list should affect the LFG so they cant join my party, or they LFG should be changed so i can decide if i let them join or not, like when someone clicks on my name, hits join, and i can reject.

Also… can i report those people for LFG abuse, or anything?
There is a group who is playing WvW while kicking all people from their dungeon instances (there was no other dungeon seller on LFG, so i assume i wasn’t the only one whom they did this) I see they like hurting others on wvw, but the LFG is not a pvp game mode. They can do this while playing happily on wvw, it only takes them 5 seconds, but takes away my 1.5hour. And i don’t even get a chat log about what happened.

Yes, you can report for LFG abuse.

Now as to Anet actually banning them is another matter.
