This build does have similar damage to the berzerker build, with the opening strikes being up constantly and the power gained from the 7% vital to power reaching 128.5 with only exo gear (armor weapons and trinkets). That number goes up with ascended gear, and during long fights this build has more time to shine with its extremely low cooldowns. I read a few pages back that the game is getting boring, new things need to be made and tried. Just trying to give back a viable (if not meta breaking) build to the community.

You spend 86% of your dps rotation with 14% base crit rate, maybe 49+/-% crit rate with buffs, the standard build(with Ranger runes) caps your crit rate at 100% all the time .
For Signet of the Beastmaster build you give up 25% damage modifier from activating SoTW, 10% from hunter’s tactics.

For sustain damage build you give up 10% from hunter’s tactics and 5% from bountiful hunter.

Rough estimates of DPS you lose for 5 stacks of 5s vuln every 3s(trash) or 2.5s vuln every 3s:
61% crit rate(assumed 1s to click on feather, activate it and attack, 1s for each attack while revealed debuff is on, 6 auto attacks because it takes 1.5s for 3 hits auto attack chain and also not factoring in QZ but I’ll be generous and give flanking strike 25% up time), so you lose 39% damage here….

SoTW activated + flanking = another 37.5% damage modifier, a total of 91.15% damage lost….

SoTW activated, not flanking = 25% damage modifier, a total of 73.75%

Sustain + flanking = 15.5% damage modifier, a total of 60.5% damage lost

Sustain, not flanking = 5% damage modifier, a total of 45.95% damage lost

45-91% personal damage lost is not “similar” in my vocabulary….

Valkyrie wont output “similar” damage to berserker.

6/5/0/3 or 4/5/0/5 are your only viable options to hit all those damage modifiers.

Activate SoTW for burst damage fights(torch 5, wh 5 pre fight then swap to offhand axe, start off with gs 2, gs 3, then swap, offhand axe 4 on cd, sword AA, then finish off with gs 2/3 for last hits).

Remorseless + GS on trash mobs.

4/5/0/5 for relatively long fights (a minute or so).

If you wanna spam opening strike then just run 6/5/0/3 but keep berserkers gear(Ranger runes are realistically better than Scholar runes if you cant keep at least 97% uptime on the Scholar runes).

Edit: I forgot to mention, there’s a 3s revealed debuff after you use Harpy Feathers, so 100% crit up time is 1/2s(slash), and 3s of no 100% crit which translates to 14% 100% crit uptime, not “almost 100% uptime” like you claimed for Valkyrie.

Upgrading CPU and GPU

I had a 6950(unlocked to 6970 shaders and core/clock) then moved to 280x on 2500k 4.2ghz, I didn’t notice a huge difference.

There really is no reason to upgrade for GW2 with what you’re running right now except for better power efficiency.

I’d personally wait for Intel Broadwell and AMD Tonga/Nvidia Maxwell to roll out q4 this year/early next year.

MF or CoE loot bugged?

DR is soulbound so just play around with different toons for every tour. It won’t trigger as long as you don’t farm(redo killing same mobs/event within a set time).

It used to be real buggy during the plinx days, I know farmers have like multiple staff 1 guards they switch around every hour to farm events back then lol.

Is a Ranger just a Warrior with a pet?

In a group setting warrior dps is nearly always better. A ranger is conditioned to solo play from the get-go because of his pet that absorbs damage. That’s why he usually has two bears, a longbow, no spotter, and no frost spirit. Rangers need to understand that group play is nothing like solo play. Everything is different: weapons, traits, utilities, pets.

This is so stupidly incorrect.

Warriors have one of the worst DPS in group settings actually, as all other classes are able to push ahead when they’re under the effects of perma-fury and banners + might.

The only place in which warriors excell over almost all other classes is solo settings because of their incredible self-buffing capabilities. Warrior is literally the only class capable of reaching 100% crit chance by themselves and one of the few classes capable of maintaining almost permanent fury as well, bar a few seconds of downtime in between cooldowns. As well as that, warrior is also one of the easiest classes to maintain 20-25 stacks of might in a solo setting as well.

If you want a good example/demonstration of this, name one class besides a warrior or a thief that’s capable of soloing Brie at the end of Arah P2 before the terminal is destroyed. Not even an ele can do it anymore, since FGS + LF was nerfed.

So you consider empower allies builds (group power buffing + vulnerability stacking) or phalanx strength builds (the latter having mediocre personal dps but gives the group 25 stacks of might without real effort) to provide inferior dps to the group as a whole than a ranger’s spotter + frost spirit? Really? Or did you understand me to refer to individual dps within the group only, which makes no sense because we’re talking about which class is better for the dps of the group as a whole? (Which also leaves me wondering, why are you talking about other classes pushing ahead under the effect of banners when we’re discussing the choice between a warrior and a ranger?)

It is pretty much assured that you will have 1 warrior running EA+2 banners in a premade composition.

After that you also assume 25 might stacks because of eles(PS warriors are never useful outside very disorganized groups).

Now with all that out of the way, yes, warrior running EA+ 2 banners will be more useful than a ranger. But it’s already established that 2 eles and 1 warrior will always be included in an organized group wanting to maximize their dps.

Given a choice between only a warrior and only a ranger, you should take a warrior. Given a choice between a second warrior or a ranger you should take the ranger.

With FGS, you should just replace the engi with a thief instead. So its 2 eles/1 warrior/1 engi or thief/last slot optional.

Ranger gives the highest dps for the optional slot, now if your party can make use of mob placement/reflects, taking mesmer over ranger will be a good idea, if its more useful to get aegis/reflects, taking a guard over ranger will be a good idea.

Why, then, would you want to bring more than one warrior, when you could instead bring 1 (covering both banners and EA) and fill the rest of your slots with higher dps professions?

So you can balance banners and ps/ea so you don’t have a useless 5th member that hits like a tissue paper. By all means, kick warriors and replace them with necros, you heard it here first.

If your team is halfway decent you will have might stacking covered, and PS would only lower dps. It’s also not hard to find someone to carry your second banner. Not even guang thinks necromancers are good in dungeons, but you may be interested in seeing DnT’s fully buffed necro vs war dps comparison.

I’ve found might stacking in groups to be difficult without PS because most people can’t kill the target in less than whatever the might blast duration is, and then you end up with 0 might. PS guarantees you’re always at 25 stacks for the whole party, and is especially useful against trash when you’re not going to bother to might stack anyway. Also the second banner problem is bigger than you might think. Most people just don’t notice banners and forget, even if they plan on taking the other banner.

Necros are just plain not recommended, there are many better classes you ckittene. I would take literally any other class gladly over a necro.

S/d ele with strength runes can open a fight with like 6 blast finishers, use LH until they run out of conjure charges then restack it again and take out their second LH. With persisting flames you would be giving fury as well and there would be no need to run a low DPS phalanx strength build, you could just have a regular dps warrior spamming FGJ off cooldown and dropping both banners in the fire field. Just because you play with bad groups doesn’t mean more than one warrior is suddenly good, it just makes a group a bit more idiot proof.

Idiot proof is fine. My usual groups don’t go for top times or anything, but we try to get through the content as quickly as possible while not making it a chore. If that means less work for an ele in exchange for killing a boss 1-2 seconds slower, I’m completely fine with that.

Nothing he mentioned that contributes to maintaining might stacks is a chore.

I agree, I joined a “LEVEL 80 ZERKER SPEEDRUN” CoF run last night which had myself (ele), my other half (guardian) and 3 random warriors. We both had powerful potions which we got for like 10c each and we were using food suitable to our builds. All 3 warriors had absolutely nothing on.

I didn’t mind too much because we still completed the run stupidly quick with me spamming Might and them spamming hundred blades but it still ticked me off a bit that there’s people out there who are too afraid to join “OMG ZERKZ” runs because they feel they’re too elitist when really most the people in those parties don’t even have the common sense to use a cheap potion. I’m guessing they probably weren’t even runed or sigil’d properly either.

You’ll be amazed when you start to ask to ping gear or tell trait spreads they are running.

So I returned to the game a couple months ago. I stopped after I became extremely frustrated trying to farm for legendary weapon mats (lodestones and T6 mats).

T6 Mats: ArenaNet has consistently removed all farming locations of T6 mats. The only way to efficiently gather these is by buying them from the Trading Post. Some of these mats are at around 60silver each. On average these T6 mats are around 40silver. So 40 × 250 * 8 (types for gift of might/magic) is 800 gold.

WvW: We are forced to do WvW for 100% Map Completion and 500 Badges of Honor. Not everyone is into PvP. Especially those on consistent losing servers.

Precursors: Are effectively the most ridiculous portion of any MMORPG game I have ever seen. When I left the game I was going for Meteorlogicus which requires the precursor of Storm. This was around 100g when I left the game for a break. When I returned it is now up to 600+ gold. The prices of all precursors is soaring out of control.

Gold: The only way to get a legendary is to have gold… and lots of it.
1) We used to be able to farm Orr for a while to get drops (but no… let’s slap the community with DR)
2) So I found some good farming spots for some T6 mats (nope! Let’s nerf that area because we want T6 mats to go up in price) …
3) Fine… I’ll do dungeon runs over and over for farming… (Don’t think so… let’s remove that aspect from the game as well… once a day only)

So now the ways left to receive a decent amount of gold…
1) Use real money to purchase gems and convert it to gold.
2) Play the trading post. Buy cheap and sale high. Which is extremely unappealing to me. I want to play a GAME not a market!

T6 Mats = 800 Gold
Precursor = Venom 110 Gold or Dusk 1100 Gold
Mystic Clovers = 50 – 100 Gold
Icy Runestones & Recipes = 120 Gold
Lodestones = 75 Silver – 2.5 Gold (100 = 75g – 250g)

Total Gold – 1,500 – 3,000 depending on luck

I have played an average of 2-3 hours a day for the last 2 months and earned about 150 gold. That is 20 months of playing for the cheapest version of a precursor (Kraitkin).

I cannot earn enough money per day to “buy” the stuff… and the price of everything keeps going up. Come on ArenaNet have mercy on the poor players in the community!!

150g should roughly only be a week or two’s worth of gold if you’re playing 2-3 hours a day.

You’re doing something wrong.

Even using 1 path worth’s of tokens will give you enough for roughly 1-2 months.

For TA, scarlet’s armies slaying potion work for nightmare court too so that’s like only 6c each that’s enough for the 2 old paths and possibly aether path if you do it.

What’s strange is people would stack toughness/vitality but refuse to use slaying potions which cost next to nothing for -10% damage taken bonus.

Its roughly free 250-300 toughness to builds using full berserkers and 650-700 toughness for “tank” builds.

If even not for the considerable 10% dps gain, its a bang for your buck wrench consumable for survivability.

Good specs low fps, why?

Your 750 is the main issue, but the rest is just in how GW2 works.

In a WvW battle with 30vs30vs30 my FPS drops down like that too and my specs are far above yours.

…I bought this gcard to upgrade from my 6 year old ATI Radeon 5770, it has made a tremendous difference but the WvW zerg issue is still there… :s This makes 0 sense…

The game isn’t optimized to full take advantage of processors.

Bigger zergs = more load on your processor but the engine doesn’t use it to fully so you get FPS drop.

For reference, I’m getting 50-70% cpu usage on a 2500k @ 4.2ghz and 50-80% GPU usage on a 280x on max all settings with SweetFx overlay.

100% usage on your GPU probably means there is room for an upgrade that could possibly increase your FPS.

30% on your processor is a little bit on the low side and might translate to your GPU bottlenecking it.

Need advice on GPU upgrade

I’m looking to upgrade the GPU on my other pc, it’s currently running on an old GTX 460.

Processor is a 3570k @ 4.2ghz. I’m considering a 750 ti, 760 or a r9 270×.

Is the 750 ti enough to max everything except shadows/reflections inside dungeons/lower population PvE? Can anyone with a fairly recent I5 + 750 ti share what FPS are you getting?

I don’t really care about WvW because I can’t appreciate max details anyway when there’s hundreds of spell effects cluttering the screen but I wonder if I can get away with a 750 ti in order to save on money/electricity bills.

When was the last time anyone had 1000 skill points? I hate the idea of “an appropriate amount of grind.” IMO, there is no such thing! It shouldn’t be about grind, although, one could argue that getting skill points would be just another grind, but at least it is NOT a grind that is the laborious task of doing the same thing over and over again.

If you really want to add prestige to earning a Legendary Weapon, then make based on being able to complete a certain series of very difficulty achievements – a combination of every aspect of gameplay: from combat to jumping puzzles.

STOP THE GRIND!

I have thousands of unused skill points, it’s simply too easy.

BTW it’s only a grind if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing. Stick with activities you enjoy and you will find it isn’t a problem at all.

No you don’t have enough gold.

When you have enough gold(or want to do it gradually):

1) Check if you have enough obsidian shards(450-500 usually).
2) If you dont, do map completion. If you already did map completion do gold boss blitz or EoTM karma farm.
3) Make 77 mystic clovers.
4) Gather/buy everything you need for Gift Of Fortune.
5) Gather/buy everything you need for Gift Of Mastery.
6) Gather/buy everything you need for Gift Of [Legendary]
7) Gamble for your precursor(Yes, more often that not, it will be cheaper to gamble for The Legend or Dusk than buying it off the TP).

Sunrise Crafting Too Hard

It’s bad enough you have to go through the trouble of the gift of fortune in which t6 mats are ridiculously hard to farm, and getting the orichalcum from salvaging takes a while. But when I look at charged lodestones, its a pain in the neck to know you have to farm 200g worth of charged cores and on top of that pay another 50 to craft them. I think that the best approach to this is to not farm for the lodestones, occasionally get an salvageable atherized scrap and salvage that, and flip until you get enough money for the rest. I’ve been farming COE for 2 weeks now and all I got is 16 lodestones. I don’t want to farm COE anymore, or just farm those dumb air elementals that don’t exist except in Malchors Leap. I’m okay with everything about the gift of fortune, but this; this is just excruciatingly dumb to farm for. I already got Dusk, I got the Mastery Gift, just need those other 2.

Sell your Dusk by listing on current price.

Put buy order for Dawn.

Buy charged lodestones with the leftovers, problem solved.

I have yet to join a Zerker party. Will it be a big deal that I run Runes of the Trooper (for the group condi cleanse)?

This is a ~15% DPS loss compared to Scholar or Strength (no joke). That’s quite a bit, and is definitely not worth it. Shake It Off on warrior or Purging Flames on guardian are sufficient for condition cleanse— you don’t need the trooper runes at all.

Is Scholar the absolute top DPS? At 4 gold a piece I’m not about ready to buy all 6, but if there’s a cheaper option I may go for that.

Not for all classes. It’s suboptimal for Warrior, for example, since they can reach nearly 100% crit chance without the need from precision on runes, and get more from power on runes. The same goes for Ele.

Drop your Precision signets for something else.

Thieves are definitely worse case for this though but in general pugging you can’t expect spotter or even discipline banner all the time.

If you’re running in a premade though, you can fork up the money for Scholar runes after 1 tour and should be fine with even ruby orbs before that to minimize cost on overriding the runes with Scholars after your tour.

So I just started looking at the stuff involved in getting these things…
As someone who never has or will buy absolutely anything from Trading Post, my options for getting such things is either to craft, or Mystic Forge roulette.

So, which road would make more sense for me, a casual player? Again, as far as materials go I play this game exclusively on drops/chests/etc.

If they don’t ask you to ping gear then you can get away with clerics/rabid or w/e the kitten you want to run lol(as long as the weapons don’t give you away like sword on warr, scepter on necro, staff on mes etc. while fighting).

Useless traits, utilities and signets for the content also can get you kicked rarely.

If you need to ping gear assassin’s is not really a major point to kick you, and so are ogre runes(I’m not sure but depending your positioning to proc side strike, discipline banner and spotter, you might be better off with Ranger runes + active mini and just go full exotic berserkers).

To be honest, I find it more important to have Force/Night sigils and the appropriate +10% slaying potion for the path than having Scholar runes/Berserker instead of Ogre runes/Assassin.

Golds from dungeon is killing the economy

Hahaha, when you say the “speed run problem” do you actually mean the “I don’t like people doing things better than me, I want to wear clerics and do stuff just as fast problem”?

I guess you missed his screenshots with nearly 1k gold & thousands of tokens, try reading the whole topic before you reply.

I guess you missed the sceenshot with Cavalier stats on his Eternity(I know it can be changed but he is most probably gonna run CM or just ran it standing on the gate) and Bloodlust+Accuracy Sigil which directly says he is in no way speed running any dungeons(even in daytime ones those aren’t optimal for speed running, but then again he doesn’t have another GS for nighttime dungeons too). Also downleveled for lvl 13 with 165 power, 38% crit rate and 82 ferocity just shows he isn’t geared/traited for any speed runs too.

1k gold + thousands of tokens doesn’t necessarily mean “speed running”, it just means he had time to acquire those whether it be 33 or 100 hours (non-speed running or speed running but gear/sigil choices and stats obviously says he’s not speed running lol).

Try learning what speed running dungeon involves before you reply.

There is already steady farm for it. Just do CoE daily, takes 40 minutes more or less for 3 paths(was better before dungeon chest nerf and addition of once a day dailies only but it still gives alot now).

I made Infinite Light, Sunrise(x2) and Bolt without buying a single Charged core/lodestone and still selling some off just from CoE.

Happened again today in our run, we get the Daily Bonus chest but not the normal clear Chest with 20 tokens and 25s when Colossus Rumblus is killed too fast. I haven’t encountered it yet with groups taking the time gathering at a safe spot and taking longer than a few secs(2-5 I guess?) killing him.

-Server: Blackgate
-Map/location: Ascalonian Catacombs Path 3 (Tzark)
-Character info(level, race, profession): anything that can run the dungeon
-How to reproduce issue: After the “Destroy the graveling burrows event”, go straight to “Search the catacombs for the patriarch event” and kill Colossus Rumblus immediately.

And getting kicked by four 2k AP warriors, which I know suck big time, but that’s better than no playing.

You are all recognizing the problem with PvP templates versus PvE templates:

PvP builds can be constructed regardless of what items you own. The templates can even save weapon type and give you a free level 1 item if you don’t have a weapon in your inventory already because PvP has normalized attributes.

PvE/WvW builds must include actual items. This mean sharing non-PvP builds becomes very complicated. Either you simply can’t do it, or templates save out exact items for reapplication AND save out item type/level/rarity/prefix/suffix/etc for sharing.

Another aspect you guys are hitting on is the need for template ‘chunks’. This means templates are not an all-or-nothing application, but can be pieced together from various parts. For instance, you could have an ‘appearance’ template that consists only of wardrobe skins, dyes, and a finisher that you can apply and save separately from a ‘functional’ template that may contain skills, traits, and amulet.

This is quite an intricate detail, but you may even want to leave individual skill/trait slot empty in a template you’re sharing like a wildcard.

The problem with PvE is items needs to be inside your bags if you wanna switch to them. It’s probably not feasible to include items in templates for PvE just because of this.

Either you check for those items when you’re switching to saved template or not include items at all in templates.

Traits & skill bar would be a good ‘chunk’ for PvE template purposes, outside of that will probably be too messy to deal with because of the nature of gear in PvE.

Fixing dung corner stacking + stats problem

Everyone knows that dungs right now are one big crap , stacking in the corner ,full dps to nuke the boss , skipping , stacking etc. I think that Anet can fix that easily . First when we have range enemies make them stay range just give them aoe which they can drop when they dont see enemy , stacking in the corner wont make any sense . Next bosses ,very often we stack in the corner to avoid some of their attacks because they use them when target is over (lets say)400 range , just get rid of it make range 0 and put only cd on that skill . Next thing I think dungs should be much more difficult but we should get loot from them only once per week (like in other mmo), lets say 4g for finishing cof p1 path and thats it , you can do that dung over and over but you wont see any loot . I think that might help game economy and reduce prices from thousands to hundreds .

Next thing stats ,right now whole pve is full berzerk or die . I think that with new mobs IQ berzerks wont be so powerfull and there would be some place for tanks or healers . Another topic is healing I thing that whole healing power should be change for restoration and all our heals should work on allies or our skills should be rebuild and some self-heals should be team heals .

If people wanted to play something like other mmo’s(once a week “raids”, trinity), people would play those mmo’s and not Guild Wars 2.

I think it’s better for you to move to those games instead of insisting on making Guild Wars 2 copy them.

If you are gonna turn auto-attack off, just make sure you’re pressing 1 fast enough so you aren’t losing any damage and slow enough that you can pause at the right time in the chain to use another weapon skill.

Just learn the rhythm. mmm mm mmmm mmm mm mmmm mmm mm mmmm mmm mm mmmm..

Every ranger needs to learn this, and it’s incredibly easy. You probably just learned it reading this.

I’ve read this thread, I have a ranger equiped with berserker gear, mainhand sword, researched builds to find a trait setup for dungeons … but I still can’t play him decently. Is there any resource around that explains how to use your utilities and weapon skills? Do I switch between guard and avoid combat for the pet depending on the kind of combat (boss vs. unavoidable trash/skips)? Do I cast the frost spirit whenever it’s off cooldown and the group is stacked, or save it for boss fights? How do I handle my weapon skills? Turn off auto attack and only use sword 1 manually?

It doesn’t help that I’ve only got a very sketchy idea of the current skips and when to dodge in a stack either … I’ve done a ton of dungeon runs, but probably 95% with my former guild of casual ranged players and support characters, so while I can’t say I’m new to dungeons, I certainly am new to “efficient” dungeon running and feel like I don’t learn anything in pugs but only make a fool out of myself by messing up all those things I don’t know sigh

Also you can practice on indestructible golems in the mists to know when you can use sword 2,3 & dagger 4 to evade inbetween your sword autto attacks.

I personally prefer auto-attack off so that I can ignore dodging altogether and instead use weapon evades(I find it easier to time weapon evades with auto-attack off) instead to keep Steady Focus(and still do damage while evading) as much as possible but that’s just my preference and it may differ from you.

For running/skipping you can also practice using sword 2. Assign a key or button for “About Face”. While running you can press this then press sword 2 then rotate your camera forward then press sword 2 again(there’s 2-3s after Hornet sting to do this so it won’t be hard). It’ll take some practice but its very useful in conjuction with GS 3 for running/skipping. There’s also WH 5 and RaO for Switfness/stability too.

Ranger – Sword auto animations can be interrupted to dodge. Pet can be permanently stowed even in combat. Fixed.

Engineer – About a year ago grenade kit got a 15% direct damage nerf. Go ahead and undo that. Fixed.

Necro – Locust swarm blinds instead of cripples. New trait that gives DS auto a 50% chance of being a blast finisher. All the “applies boon when entering or attacking in DS” are applied to your party instead of just you. Fixed.

I’d rather they “fix” ranger by not leaping us into point blank range to target all the time. Not being able to max melee range(and strafe to some extent) is the more annoying part of sword control, at least for me.

Using weapon evades/dodges(if you’re out of weapon evades) aren’t as problematic as positioning issues and the run of the mill jumping off cliffs accidentally moments lol.

Majority of ranger players pick the worse setups when it comes to contributing to a team.

“If I kick this ranger and replace with a <insert profession here> on the same skill level, the non ranger will probably contribute more” is the common idea.

This is the Dungeon Subforum. Which means there is exactly one way to play your class. If you do something else you are a noob.

Not really…though there are good ways and bad ways to play a class, especially when it comes to team play.

I wish we could have these discussions without all the rage and over-defensive passive-aggression.

I just wish someday the users in this forums realized is not a ranger’s fault if he wants to use a bow, and its not (entirely) the elitist’s fault if he wants his mates to play properly… it is the devs fault not to build a game where a ranger can play with a bow or a guardian as a defender or an elementalist using a staff or bla bla, you get the point. Game sucks (?)

Everyone can play what they want, its just no one can’t force what their playing to be accepted by other players in their party.

Everyone’s entitled to have an opinion on what they think is fun but they aren’t entitled to ruin other player’s fun by insisting their way is acceptable to people who don’t accept it and vice versa.

Well, most of the people I know were waiting this event to farm on the Pavillion, imagine their surprise when they didn’t see a real way to farm anything (you can’t be sure to complete all the times the Boss Blitz with a gold reward thanks to megaservers)…

The economy of this game is going to hell, and you can see it by looking at the prices of precursors (some at 1500g), fine T6 mats, runes and other random mats. Right now, a normal player (not a casual) could take more than a year to get the money to buy a precursor (assuming that they won’t raise on price anymore), is that normal for you?

I don’t think going on this way would be good for the state of the game, ‘cause if you expect that people are going to buy gold by converting gems (that’s your goal I guess, no?), many would quit the game to find something where you actually have a chance to farm to get what you want.

The game needs some farming, even not during the events to let the economy being more stable and players able to get money to get what they want. We’ve seen several farming for several months: Cursed Shore, Karka, Cof p1 and so on, but now people who want to “farm” some money, can actually only do dungeons every day (about 30g/day in almost 4 hrs) and that’s not a way to help “new players” to get their money to buy skins and so on.

Do you want people to buy gems with real money and converting them to gold? Just say it please, so we wouldn’t ask anymore for any way to farm gold in game, by playing.

TL;DR The game need a way to farm money to control the economy and help people get their money to buy skin/things.

Correct TL;DR Let’s print more money so stuff would cost less.

Currency can’t inflate if there’s a limited amount of it. Champ zerging is an unlimited faucet for gold(there are similar if not better champ farming methods still around, you just have to meet a higher skill cap/coordination than pressing 1 on your lootstick so its kinda limited now)

Currency will actually deflate if its amount stays fixed and amount of resources(lets say T6 fine mats or Lodestones) infinitely increase.

Of course demand would also factor into this if the resource becomes more attractive for buyers over time but printing more money won’t solve this situation.

Anet actually made sense removing trains in starting zones.

Those places are where people start out playing, having them think that spamming 1 is all there is to this game has promoted bad gameplay for new people and prevented them from learning their classes properly.

It’s a long overdue move in the right direction encouraging better gameplay from people if they want the best rewards and not spamming 1 forever on their loot stick.

Hey, you know what else helps show players how to play a game properly, using all skills and showing them how the game really works?

Tutorials.

You know what this game does?
Pretty much gets you to spam 1 until you can unlock the other skills on the bar, or until you can get out of the instanced zone – whichever one comes first. Then pick up a new weapon and watch it happen all over again.

How about improving the first thing people encounter in game? Make a better tutorial and you’ll have less ‘press-1-spammers’

Stating I don’t have to join those parties is akin to saying players don’t have to stay in the QD starting zone.
I can wholeheartedly agree with the former. Would you not agree with the latter?

If you are a newbie(or just wanna kill solo champs for the challenge) and want to kill a champ you will get yelled at and verbally abused by the zerg and you are stuck at the same zone with a zerg.

Assuming that those are the only champs that exist in QD – I’m quite sure there are more than that. And again, you’re never really “stuck” in a zone.

No amount of tutorial can help if you encourage 1 spamming by being the most lucrative gold:skill cap activity in the game. Harder content needs to clearly be superior when it comes to reward to face roll content.

Traits, weapons, utilties being locked is an issue when it comes to learning everything I will admit that, it’s the trade off for progression as you level up/acquire more skill points/gold/move around the map.

Statistically, human race is the most often picked race by players in the game. If you are a new player you won’t even have an idea how to move to other lower racial starting zones for a while. And FYI they removed champs from not just QD among all starting areas.

If people want to stay in QD, are you saying they should be forced to move to another zone if they don’t want to deal with the zerg? lol

I’ll repeat it again, champ farming hasn’t been removed. Go do SE P1, 60 champ bags per hour easy(if you know how to play your class)

FYI:
For those people looking for champ farm you don’t have to look far. Do SE P1 in less than 5 mins = 5 champ boxes x 12 runs an hour = 60 boxes an hour.

Of course you will need to know how to use your utilities properly on this one and spamming 1 on your loot stick will only lengthen runs and mean less loot but it’s more rewarding than champ train.

An Issue Regarding Legendary Gear

It’d be nice but I imagine it’s on the bottom of Anet’s to do list.

Freely interchanging runes/sigils is already supported in PvP mode but I have no idea how much effort it will take to move it over to PvE legendaries.

Now, to the next point whether it is a problem or not. Personally, I share sets of armors and weapons between all classes and I have no problem.

It will heavily depend on the content you play. If you dungeon alot it’s not a problem at all. All classes use the same sigils(force/night/bloodlust/perception/+10% slaying).
The number of viable runes are also the similar(scholar/strength/ranger).

If you like to WvW then I can see it being a nuisance when you are switching between zerging and roaming/small ops. But then again it’s a PITA to switch stats and runes vs just switching gear(example: zerging with soldier/knights+melandru switching to condi roaming/small ops rabid/dire+condi runes etc.).

They were being distributed at a time that Europe is asleep. Meaning their values have dropped in half already. Btw I just logged in and the 15+ gemstore dyes I was supposed have not arrived yet (I followed all the criteria of logging in on all char long ago, contacting support already on 16 April etc etc). So by the time I get back from work tonight my dyes will be worth a LOT less.

Wait for a couple of months and pray they don’t get re-introduced maybe instead of unloading them today?

It’s all a small gamble really, but I chose not to unload my duplicate dyes even I got them early today.

Sold most dyes I had still in bank last week and already bought them back today for a huge discount so today’s not really a good day to sell them anyway regardless of time of the day you get them.

No, not thread. The argument now if the ethicacy of those parties. For very specific runs that need a single individual fair enough, but when you’re doing it purely because you just wanna run the same speedrun over and over as defined by someone else, thats not ok, and the fact that half the parties out there at are all ‘lvl 80 Zerks only’(three dungeons later, same situation), there is a problem.

So who are you to say what’s unethical or not lol?

They wanna play with berserkers, so let them be.

You want to play with whatever you want and no one is stopping you or telling you to do otherwise.

It’s just a game and stop stressing over what people are doing as long as they aren’t being offensive to you or anyone.

We’re all just playing with our own time so its just best to mind your own business if no one is offending you personally.

It’s a sub 5 min run for 5 champ boxes, 60 boxes/hr is not bad considering what other people get doing champ trains.

everything paper may look good but the results is the issue.

I my self have spend plenty of gold trying to make a good healing build for pve dungeon to end up useless, the problem is that at end you heal about 20% of your groups HP about every 8 to 10 sec when a boss or a group of mobs can take down 60% of a person HP under 5 sec

Wait, so you want to keep everyone at 80-100% health all the time regardless of eating that 60% hit instead of them mitigating it themselves(or you mitigating it for them via aegis/blinds)?

Given your example, lets look at 18k HP and loses 10.8k hp and 5 seconds recovery time.

2,245 from selfless daring, 4,490 if you decide to double dodge.

286×5 from symbol heal for a total of 1,430 hp recovered.

405×5 from regen heal for a total of 2,025 hp recovered.

682 proc from sigil of water(ICD is 5 secs 30% on hit)

6382 or 8627 healed in those 5 secs is a fary cry from being 20%.

That will put them back up to 13.5k hp IF they decided to just stand there and take that 60% hit.

Sure it’s maybe 20% heal if they have 31, 910 hp but who the hell runs that outside fronlining/commanding in WvW?

This also doesn’t include you popping heal #6 & elite.

The thing is, the game is already too easy for people right now(whether it be horrible mechanics, or broken damage skills, or just a plain easy tank and spank), dumbing it down even more by allowing you act as a healbot to get people up to 80-100% constantly that they don’t even have to bother using active damage mitigation isn’t going to help.

ok to the ppl who keep posting with I am confuse about my issue with healing.

As I keep saying in gw2 you can go as any build on dungeon run and do good , which is pure dps or condition or a buffer but if you try to be a single healer build class on 5 man dungeon is completely useless.

As a single healer build in 5 man group your OUT GOING heals do almost nothing to the group and not just that but your dps is also gimpy making you dead weight to the group

As I explain before I DO NOT run 5 man zerk run, do not like it , I find it boring , love puging with random ppl and there a lot of ppl out who don’t know how to play there class or don’t know much about the dungeon it self b/c of this I like to build a class that helps other to perform better and this can be done.

I have made a build with my guardian that helps any random group with worst dps to become either decent dps or great dps . This is a might stacker support build.

Now I have try other route of game play where instead of helping player to increase there dps I wanted to help them to stay alive and this where the problem hits, It cant be done.

Why can’t it be done?

This is just something I put together now, I don’t mean this is the best healing build(and I have no experience outside when I used to roam with my guard in WvW in full clerics) ever but I’m just using it as example to show you how powerful outgoing heals to allies can be in PvE.

This is what you get:

1) 2245 aoe heal when you dodge, that’s 2245 burst AoE heal every 10 secs or 4490 AoE burst heal every 20 seconds and this assumes you get no vigor at all. (monk rune factored in)

2) Symbol of Faith ticks for 286 heal/second (monk rune factored in)

3) Symbol of Faith applies regeneration that ticks 405 heal/second (monk rune factored in)

4) Superior Sigil of Water will AoE heal for 682 when it procs, and it will proc alot when you’re dropping symbol on cooldown while autoattacking specially with multiple targets. Not sure how will this interact with Monk runes but just add 10% if it works with Monk runes.

5) Healing Breeze ticks for 1051 heal in a cone, 3 ticks. (monk rune factored in)

6) Tome of Courage Skill, Heal Area, AoE heals for 2366 spammable for 20 secs(so that’s 47,320 AoE heal over 20 seconds)

I may be off a little with the math, didn’t test monk runes applying correctly to all outgoing heals just remove 10% from outgoing heals if they are bugged(because we all know it’s normal for sigils/runes to be bugged in this game).

Anyway, can you truly claim that all those heals do almost nothing for the group?

Try parking an alt just below the temple safe zone. You could login as often as you can on the weekends just to check(specially on NA prime time).

You must also remember to not represent a guild and not be in a party while guesting for an open megaserver.

And if you goin to post STOP with the dedicating heal I am not talking about that either, I am talking about a dps/healer like the one we have on the game now but more efficient.

Then please Jzaku, enlighten me what we could have done. Please inform me how, in the veyr first dungeon, we could have resisted this guy pulling our entire party to oen spot and killing us in one whirl of his blade.
Thats not a lacking of strategy thats just handicapping stats. But if we missed some resistance to him(even the veteran said he wasn’t worth it,) please inform me of it. Let me make this clear, I’m not here just to rant, I’m here to try and find out if I could have done -anything-. And no, I do not include rebuilding traits and ‘improving equipment’ to be viable options in a beginner dungeon.

edit: Thank you for the hint to stopping that lieutenant. Keep in mind when I say veteran I do mean a guy who had been through the dungeon many times before. He was a terrible teammate or just angry that I wasn’t stacking. None the less I feel a bit less cheated, even if I still feel cheated given there is no hint to this in a starting dungeon.

The solution to your problem is the super secret op ele conjure weapon skill Fiery Rush.

All your “we cant kill him fast enough” problems will go away as soon as you wear full berserkers gear with scholar runes and force/night(for ac) sigils, stack in a corner, press 4 and watch the boss burn in 2 seconds.

As for the burrow you will have to turn to your ele party mate for the ultra op damage against structures skill Ice Storm.

Just as before(you dont have to stack this time!) just keep wearing your gear with scholar runes and press 4 and watch those yucky bug spewing burrows get destroyed by your Ice Storm alone.

But beware, this is all considered an exploit and might get you banned.
