Why may I ask? I guarantee far less than 1% of player population own legendaries, and each legendary is worth hundreds of dollars in real cash. Just because you see a bunch in LA doesn’t mean they are common… it just means people who own legendaries are more likely to hang around in LA and play the game for hours on end.
Of course the population of this subforum is also biased as it is more likely to have tp moguls with thousands or tens of thousands of gold.

Buying a new character for only twice as much (1.5 times as much during the sale) also gives you 5 times the amount of slots. It’s by far the most efficient method of storage.
Endless Petrification Tonic
As much as Anet wants us eles to move away from cantrips, it is this kitten that makes it mandatory for us. If you aren’t carrying armor of earth and arcane shield or mistform, you are 100% screwed against any stun warrior. And really with those skills you’ll never put a dent in a cavalier healing signet war anyways… so might as well run away. Oops, forgot rtl is 10x worse than war gs for mobility… better hope fgs is off cooldown or it’s gg.
Endless Petrification Tonic
You only say that because you don’t care about the items. I care nothing for the rarity of these items. I already have one and you won’t see me going around bragging about it. I just want to collect the other ones because I genuinely want them for their effect. How is it fair that I get shafted because I just happen to want the ONLY items in game which cannot be gotten except through sheer luck (and I guarantee the vast majority of people who own these just got lucky after opening a few chests while not trying for them, so they are hardly prestige like legendaries).
Endless Petrification Tonic
Can you please implement this so that I can finally buy one of these obscenely rare ACCOUNT-BOUND tonics without the requirement of going through thousands of chests for a chance at one? The current drop rate may be as bad as .1% based on different accounts, and there are three varieties that you may get duplicates of. Every single other item that has ever been in black lion chests you can now buy directly in some fashion, whether it be tickets, gold, or gems. Endless mystery tonics seem to be forgotten in all the updates however.
Endless Petrification Tonic
I was thinking the opposite, since nobody will be running it after a while since it will be too hard. Might be a downward spike at the beginning just for novelty.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Daggers have been mage weapons since the dawn of dnd. It was usually their weak physical option but it’s still classic… just like our pathetic health pool.
Endless Petrification Tonic
This is nearly the same build I’ve been running in wvw, except I go 0/0/20/20/30 for extra heal on water. Good for 1v1s and small groups but half of that is just because nobody knows how to deal with focus since hardly any eles use it. It’s not great for zergs imo since the conditions often don’t do enough to get you kill credit. I take armor of earth and arcane shield over mist form (worst of the three imo since you can’t ether renew during it) and earth shield, although I can see swapping arcane shield for earth shield for more offensive capability and confusion stacking in zergs. I also usually reserve LH for escaping and mobility, but if I feel safe enough I’ll use it for the daze and launch. I’ll have to wait to see what they do to perplexity before committing any ascended gear to the build, since that’s where at least a quarter of the damage comes from.
Oh and as a human I use reaper of grenth for free poison + chill. Could also use fgs for more mobility, but I find it less reliable than LH in that regard since it is not always off cooldown.
But yeah perplexity will probably get royally nerfed… so this build will be good at attrition but nowhere near as damaging.

Agreed, D/D and D/F are terrible burst (besides the unreliable fire grab for D/D). Lightning whip is decent sustained damage for power and drake’s breath + impale are decent sustained damage for condition. If you want burst scepter is pretty much mandatory… mainhand dagger is still a bunkering weapon.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Footprints need to be made bigger like the patch notes said they should have been. There was no change.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Limited minis never seem like a good investment to me because they never become soul bound. People get bored of them and sell them to get some quick cash, especially when things like 500 level crafting are introduced that bleed your wallet dry.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Wow, these “buffs” to conjures aren’t even worth mentioning. If anything frost bow might be even worse now that the projectiles will be spread over more area. And who gives a flying kitten about the auto-attack of frost bow? Why would they do such a meaningless buff to such a horrible skill that is beyond redemption? Deep freeze channel is the only thing ok.
And lava axe is still an absolute joke in all game modes, since pve you will have max might anyways and pvp you’ll never want to waste a slot on such a horrible inutile weapon that is worse than our fire attunement on its own.
Conjures needed a complete overhaul in functionality, not this laughable excuse for a buff that will make them ignore conjures for the next year because “hey we already buffed them”.
And it comes at a cost of evasive arcana, elemental attunement, and burning nerfs. So hilarious that their attempt to nerf the condition meta only affects classes like ele that stack lots of duration for burning but have no cover. Yeah that necro that procs 3 secs of burning along with 50 other conditions is really going to suffer from this one /s. Just ridiculous.

D/F toughness/healing/condition with runes of perplexity and 0/0/20/20/30 can counter just about anything if you play well. Those are the kind of builds I like… pure power gets hard countered too often I find, and with ele you can’t really get away when that happens. Only thing is mobility ain’t so hot with focus, so you can slot either lightning hammer or fgs (or both) to help with that. I take some celestial too so I have some direct damage to get kills in zergs and deal with people with massive condition cleansing (pretty rare honestly).

Get rid of chore achieves in the future

I am talking of course of the various “collect all baubles” achievements. I love SAB, and even tribulation mode is great fun. But these kitten “collect everything and kill everything” achievements are like pulling teeth. World 2 zone 2 is proving particularly ridiculous with the requirement of killing all assassins and backtracking to the shortcut eagle just to collect 5 baubles (while making sure not to get hit off by bees). I want to play the game, not pore over a guide on the side of my screen while stressing over whether or not I accidentally missed a single bauble out of hundreds that will force me to do the entire mundane thing over again. At least require less for the meta achievement if you are going to include these.

Where is my school uniform that’s been in game data for months and months? They better release it next week or I’ll be seriously ticked.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Underwater combat simply CAN’T be balanced properly with only one or two weapons per profession. They would have to add whole new weapons just to attempt to balance it, because current weapons are usually only good in one build (eg elementalist is only good underwater with power build… and even then are far outclassed by mes and engineer). It should remain a pure pve feature, and looks like Anet is finally realizing it.

Sclerite dropped from southsun boxes which could be farmed. That is why they are only 3 tickets. Zodiac will become 5 tickets like Aetherized since they both were both recent limited runs with (nearly) all being from the gem store (and thus lower supply).
Endless Petrification Tonic
Wow you actually managed to get that many tickets? If you don’t mind me asking, how many chests did you open?
Endless Petrification Tonic
Giver’s is op compared to other weapons, so there you go. These holiday/event gimmicks are never balanced properly (look at perplexity).

Thanks everyone for your contribution. However, the prices are telling a very different story. If Silver Doubloons were as easy to obtain by forging, opening loot bags etc. at 460,000 players logged in playing concurrently at Guild Wars 2’s peak, we shouldn’t even be seeing these type of supply numbers (Total supply on the auction house is currently 503 pieces).
In fact, if they were even fairly easy to obtain, the prices won’t be where they are now. For example, are silk scraps easy to obtain? Yes they are. And how do we know that? Looking at the trading post, they are virtually selling at vendor value.
How do we know then that Silver Doubloons are not easy to obtain? They are not only not selling at vendor value, but they are selling wayyyy above vendor value.
Yesterday, prices were as follows -
As at 12.46pm, 8th September 2013,
Total supply on the trading post = 212
Buy Price = 1g 1s
Sell Price = 1g 32sToday, 9th September 2013, as at 12:19pm,
Total supply on the trading post = 503
Buy Price = 1g 21s 1c (+20s)
Sell Price = 1g 24s 99cOne of the forummers commented that he managed to forge 6 Silver Doubloons easily, and earned 6g for himself.
Question – If it were so easy, why stop there? Might as well carry on forging and you can get yourself more than 1,000g based on the buying orders, which can easily absorb 1,000 pieces.
This guy gets it. Everyone else… learn something about how markets work. People aren’t paying 1g+ for doubloons for sheeps and giggles… they are paying it because it is barely less cost efficient than forging them and MUCH more time efficient. If there was an efficient way to get doubloons, then within hours some folks would figure it out and flood the market in order to make massive gold.
And I keep hearing this… getting some free doubloons from the pebbles and nuggets you’ve accumulated after 1000 hours of play does not mean doubloons are easy to get… you’ll have to play another 1000 hours to get your stock back up to try again. And you could have sold those pebbles directly for a similar profit, meaning “free” is not actually free.

Champ farming makes open world enjoyable for once, and makes zones more than a barren wasteland. Nerfing them will make they game appear dead again, with everyone going to instances (read dungeons) to farm.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Focus is good besides fire. Offhand dagger is what sucks these days.
Endless Petrification Tonic
It’s often a nightmare trying to discern if a warrior or guardian with 100 boons on has stability somewhere in there. It would be a lot easier to scan for boons on enemies if we at least had the option to color them… personally I would color stability neon green since it is that important to know if an enemy has it or not.
Endless Petrification Tonic
It’s faster to farm gold than click yourself to death making silver doubloons. That is why their current price is a fair market price. The only ones screwing us over are Anet for being stupid enough to make a mid-tier unfarmable item (read virtually unobtainable at level 80) necessary in massive quantities for a high-tier end game item, likely for pure rp reasons (“It’s vial of quickSILVER get it?”). Even nuggets and marks are drying up at this point with so few low level players, making it more costly to mf dobuloons if you even wanted to torture yourself by trying.
Endless Petrification Tonic
^Agreed. Focus allows a lot more counterplay, and using skills at the right time actually feels rewarding. Like reflecting/blocking projectiles, going invul for stomps/rezing/tanking, and interrupting heals from a distance with gale or comet (which are way easier to land than the melee and predictable earthquake/updraft). But let’s not derail this thread further.

Endless Petrification Tonic
I think you guys are overreacting a bit. It is probably a true statement that most eles only use 1 or 2 attunements. Keep in mind that most players have likely only played less than 100 hours, so it’s not surprising most of them are nooby. He’s not saying that’s how we should play, but that they don’t want to make us any more complicated since new players won’t be able to use any of the advanced skills. What IS unfortunate about this is it makes it less likely they will ever fix conjures in a meaningful way since being able to use conjures like kits might be seen as making us “too complicated”.
I wish they would have addressed builds besides s/x (which I abhor the style of… d mainhand is what made me fall in love with the class), or our low hp.
Also I don’t know why they don’t bring their pvp changes on necro and so on to wvw… why is ok for them to be op there? Not to mention all the new PvE only runes and sigils (perplexity, malice, scavenging) pushing condi builds way over the top in WvW non-zerg play.
Endless Petrification Tonic
I’ll leave conjure builds to people who really care strongly about shaving off seconds off runs. d/f has enough damage for a casual speedrun.
More fans of d/f!
Wow, I thought I was the only one. I adore d/f lately… offhand dagger kinda sucks for anything but mobility I’ve realized, and with rtl in its current state even that isn’t great. Obsidian flesh, magnetic wave, comet, and gale alone are enough to make up for almost all offhand dagger skills.
Endless Petrification Tonic

Conjures need to be instant cast at the very least, so we can immediately use the skills. There are some real gems in there like earth shield invulnerability and pull, but since it takes so long to summon you can never use them to react to your current situation. I’d rather if we just had a few of those skills by themselves as utilities over what we have now. Kind of sad they went to all the trouble of designing all those skills, only to make them useless by making conjures so slow to summon.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Bolt and incinerator are both the exact same… unless by larger they meant like 1%.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Incinerator is definitely the exact same. One of the worst textured footfalls in the game, but at least it lasts long. I still don’t understand why its icy counterpart frostfang got a much cooler footfall and we are left with this bland one.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Yep it’s horrible. Add it to the long list of horrible dagger skins (incinerator, arah, winter’s needle, and fused are literally the only good skins in the game).
Endless Petrification Tonic
It’s definitely possible to use only spouts, and probably easier once you get used to it since the timing is always the same. The only rocks I used were the ones on the left before the last 4 spouts.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Probably intended.
Endless Petrification Tonic
You need to jump when they all spurt at the same time and go as fast as you can to the third one. Then wait on the third one for a second until the next one appears and jump to it. Note that the spouts after this are even harder. Once you reach the next rock you again start jumping when they all spurt at the same time, and again wait on the third one for a second and jump to the fourth one right before it appears and then jump into the waterfall (there is a ledge behind it). Be careful to avoid the thin vertical streams of water as they will knock you down into the river.

I just wish the new skins looked as nice as the old. I would feel like it’s a waste if I used the tokens on anything besides the greatsword, shield, staff, sword or scepter (mostly gs).
Endless Petrification Tonic
Unfortunately this price hike is making items like mystery tonics prohibitively expensive to craft too.
Endless Petrification Tonic
I agree, Grouch if anything seemed the most disdainful of any of them when it comes to ele. They really need a representative balance dev for each class. The bias is frankly out of control.

It’s definitely IWBTG fake difficulty. And Super Meat Boy is for the most part NOT fake difficulty. You can see most hazards in that game.
But the most important thing about all these games? Infinite lives! Which you can only get here by paying 10 bucks or 35g. Totally unfair.

One thing is for certain… the new levels are TOO LONG! Now I actually had fun with some of the obstacles in world 2 zone 1, but I was incredulous at how it kept going on and on and on and on… all for the same reward as world 1. Honestly I thought the preview that you put in last time was difficult and long enough to be its own level, and that is what I was expecting this time around. Boy was I wrong. That was probably less than a 5th of the whole thing. Additionally there are about 1/10 as many baubles as in world 1, which makes buying anything but lives and hearts impossible.
I can understand going to these lengths for the last world, but for world 2? Gimme a break.
Also hard mode is unfair fake difficulty like I Wanna Be the Guy with all the invisible crap that kills you. Fun for a laugh but requiring it for unique rewards is too much. I guarantee you everyone is just going to wait for a video walkthrough since there is no challenge other than memorization of cheeze. Having looked at world 1 tribulation mode, I can’t even fathom how impossible world 2 must be… I highly doubt anyone will be able to beat it without the infinite coin (which kinda kills the whole “tension” thing you seem to want so much… for those willing to pay for the scam).
Endless Petrification Tonic

Yep, set 2 is VERY lackluster compared to set 1. They really phoned it in on the less popular weapons, as always. Anet particularly hates daggers and refuses to give most good particle effects for whatever reason.
Endless Petrification Tonic
I’ve been waiting for the “back to school” outfit since the beginning of summer when it was found in data files, but here we are with an event entitled “back to school” yet no outfit. What gives? First the swimwear and now this? Is even a schoolgirl outfit too scandalous for Anet now? Or do they just hate money?
Endless Petrification Tonic
I can’t tell any difference whatsoever with incinerator either. Was really hoping for them to completely update the footfall, as the current one has a pretty bad texture, especially compared to the likes of twilight and now even bifrost (which already had an aura AND footfall). Stupid 2-handers getting all the love even though (some) 1-handers cost just as much.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Oh no, poh wittle wanger has to play something besides the petting zoo now.
Endless Petrification Tonic
What a joke. They could have made a free solution to the problem of too hard to get items (ascended armor/weapons) and expensive skins (t3 etc) becoming inseparable through transmutation, but instead they are bleeding us dry for a basic service. The sad thing is I have over 250 transmutation crystals from bl chests, which are practically useless without this counterpart.
At least there IS a solution now though, even if its price is a complete scam.
Endless Petrification Tonic
Cores are just plain worthless now. Which is too bad since they actually started dropping at a reasonable pace lately.
