I hope it’s not on the gem store. We need new armor pieces that we don’t need to spend 30g on to unlock. We haven’t had a new in-game obtainable armor set since launch.

I love all the people resorting to calling me out for maining an ele. Stick to the topic or get out. Yes I like to see imbalanced things nerfed, regardless of class/race. I have a thief and a norn (how I even found out about this ridiculous elite), but it won’t stop me from targeting them.
And notice how many replies my topics get? Evidently the things I am requesting are only giving voice to popular opinion.
As to the above sentiment, I would also prefer a normal utility in place of my elite.

Wow. The only good escape ability and a player cries nerf. Unbelievable. I’m constantly amazed at what some players whine about while playing certain classes…these elites aren’t that good anyway. They are unusable in most situations because they deny access to all other skills. But seriously a player who plays a class with all kinds of escapes whining about something like this…..
You just admitted it is a good escape ability. That right there is grounds for nerf. Racial elites should not be good at anything.
I’m not complaining because I can’t get away on ele. Classes like necro and even mes (although they already have good elites snow leopard is still at least viable) have little mobility but if they are a norn they suddenly have access to this ridiculous mobility. However if you play a non-norn necro you are screwed for no reason. Give it to all players and I have no qualms.
So in my opinion it is fair that other classes can get the snow leo to escape once every 4 minutes.
Only If you are a norn. You don’t see a problem with this?

I use all my tokens on outfitting my alts with zerker gear and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I doubt ectos will rise.

Supposedly racial elites aren’t supposed to outshine class elites. So why is it that Norns get snow leopard form with a ridiculous 1600 range dash, coupled with a 5 second stealth (on 10s cooldown)? This gives way too much mobility/escapability to classes that don’t have innate mobility, but only if you are a norn. Sure it’s terrible for battling, but that’s not what you’ll be using it for.
Really though, all racial elites should be completely disabled in wvw.

Agreed though, it is absolutely horrendous for a class that is terrible with condition builds to begin with. Convert 50% and I would still only consider it.

Final shielding is quite good and I use it off and on. Given our already great survivability it makes us just that more resilient (and adds damage on explosion). It’s the easiest of the two to take since almost all eles run 30 in arcane anyways.
Earth’s embrace is kinda meh since stability is really something you like to time and most take 10 in earth max (with many competitive adept abilities to choose from, earth’s embrace is low priority).

I always sell them. I have a feeling their price is being propped up by ignorant people who think the drop rate is better than it is. If you are opening them to use it might be a good deal, just like loot bags.

I just wish spying in WvW actually took skill like in real life. In real life you don’t have the luxury of respawning after getting too close to an enemy army. Unfortunately I don’t see a way to fix this.

The unfortunate thing is it’s not really a skill thing. I fancy myself a good pvper but if there is a griefing group that has even one mesmer at the top of the arena it is impossible to complete the puzzle without bringing in your own well-sized brigade. Your best option is to just keep trying at different times of day really (late at night is usually a good time).
I will say It’s pretty sadistic of Anet to put the arena 3/4 through the puzzle though. It’s no lie to say being pked at the arena is by far the most infuriating experience in this game, because it’s some lowlife wasting your precious time for no good reason, other than maybe a freaking badge.

I have witnessed bot trading in the past but it was only once about half a year ago. It was on a yellow armor piece. Literally as soon as I put up a buy order 5 buy orders would be put up a copper above mine. This occurred probably 10 times instantaneously until I gave up.

It has a hat, gloves, and even shoes. It infuriatingly uses every slot except the leg slot.
Here’s hoping it eventually gets fixed… won’t hold my breath though.

Why in the holy mother of kitten are the pants and torso not separate in this outfit? I want to use the pants in another outfit but some genius decided to meld the chest and legs into one chestpiece. There’s a leg slot for a reason Anet!

The Problem:
Transmuting a skin to a stat piece couples them together so that they can only be decoupled by destroying either the skin or the stat combo. This will be even worse with ascended armor.
The Example:
-Transmute cultural tier 3 skins to ascended armor
-Want to be able to swap between aetherblade skin and cultural tier 3 skin
-Therefore must created a whole new set of ascended armor to hold the aetherblade skin (taking presumably months of work), or transmute over the tier 3/aetherblade every time you want to change (losing 100g or 800 gems in the process every time)
The Solution:
Change transmute stones into “unlock stones” which when used on an item with a skin permanently unlocks that skin in a PvE locker which can then be used an infinite number of times a la zenith weapons/armor.

All the achievement titles are incredibly lame. They are all “______ Achiever”, whoopdee doo. Isn’t this the closest thing we have to the meta-achievements in GW1? When am I going to be able to get something as good as “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” without having to play an 8 year old game?

Holy hell, did you really need to write that much? I don’t think anet would be cruel enough to disregard people who transmuted legendaries, especially since their new fix is addressing precisely that issue (only one stat combo for legendaries).
That said I won’t be transmuting mine just in case :P

It’s an experience scroll that will instantly put any character under level 20 to level 20.
So it won’t have an affect on a character over level 20?
It’s not supposed to. But don’t test it. Knowing anet it’s probably bugged and will de-level you to 20.

That would be AMAZING if we got GS as a pure damage full melee weapon (unlike dagger which is semi-melee with condition damage), but I doubt it. We’ll probably just get extra utility skills (which is also cool because our entire line of normal conjures and glyphs are pure trash outside of very situational uses).

I hope to god there are no skins associated with them. I don’t want to have to choose between prestige and a look I actually like. If they do give them new skins they better implement a kittening skin locker.

There are no diminishing effects on power/crit damage/crit chance. In fact it is the opposite: they stack multiplicatively and each point gets stronger the more you have of the others. It’s why I think ascended is a terrible idea in the first place.

Unfortunately now we are going to have organized groups with a rehearsed dungeon routine being the only ones making the best gold, leaving everyone else in the dust. Equipment requirement will be even more stringent, especially with ascended coming out, and anyone who isn’t a war with zerker ascended will get the shaft. A gold per path is too much imo.

Zerker will be more powerful than ever since we are getting ascended armor and power/crit chance/crit damage stack multiplicatively. If you ask me new ascended berserker gear should not add to any of those stats but add some vitality and toughness instead, since otherwise damage will be out of control (or add a cap to crit chance or damage).
At least cof farming will be dead with no more repeat rewards.

^this. I hate thieves always defending stealth saying its not invincibility. News flash: you are able to see us and thus go in whatever direction we are not going, so it might as well be. There is no one magic “pattern” that all of us are too dumb to recognize, as many a conceited thief seems to think. If you have a pattern that you always follow than you are probably an npc. Ironically actual invincibility (aka blocks, invulnerability and so on) are much less powerful than stealth since your opponent can still keep you pinned and you can’t setup a sneak attack (and after healing all your hp no less).
Come in sPvP with your Thief I’ll show you how Elementalist is strong.
Not talking about sPvP genius. Hence WvW forums. And in sPvP necro dominates both since last patch anyways.

You have given no evidence how D/D ele is easy mode other than whining from half a year ago that has since been silenced with nerfs to rtl, mist form, lightning flash, cleansing fire and so on. D/D ele has long since fallen out of favor after nerfs and meta changes and cannot compare to the level of cheese of this thief, especially in non-capture scenarios. Yes I can survive them if they don’t get a lucky backstab and potentially outrun them but if they are skilled they will never die. And I’m glad you think pressing 5 and 2 is less EZ-mode than ele. Anyways thanks for the strawman that you went to so much trouble to erect (looking at my post history), you’ve added so much value to this discussion (and as it is an irrelevant strawman, I will comment no more on it)

if you catch a thief on low initiative you should be able to kill them. if you can’t you should stop playing
That’s a good one. You realize these thieves gain 2 initiative from entering stealth, gain an extra 3 initiative every 10 seconds, gain 2 initiative for each signet (including heal), all on top of the normal initiative gain of 1 per 1.33 seconds (which continues while stealthed)? They will almost never have no initiative, and even if worst comes to worst and they run out they can just shadow refuge and gain all their initiative and health back. Tell me again how I should kill that?
When you see Black Powder go down, maybe you should try standing inside it so that they can’t HS without hitting you, which, amazingly enough, breaks their stealth and gives them Revealed.
This will only work if they actually use it by you. And it’s giving them free damage and initiative gain. Hardly a winning strategy, but at least it could be somewhat useful trying to kill one on his last 1000 hitpoints.

It is one thing to be strong in skirmishes. It is another to be completely unkillable in a pack of 5 enemies while potentially picking them off one at a time (if they are uncoordinated, which is most groups) with little to no effort. Anet obviously created thieves with the intention of initiative being harder to get, or they would never have put a no-cooldown self-stealthing combo in the game. However with regenerating initiative in stealths and with the variety of initiative regen traits, initiative might as well not even be there. The worst part is even relative noobs can be good with this combo because, really, how can you be bad when your enemy can never see you.. it is 0 risk, extremely high reward, which should never fly in any game. Unfortunately it is even worse in the hands of a skilled player.
And last time I checked, thieves had ranged aoe for attacking towers so don’t give me that.

For god sake, thieves should not be able to spam perma-stealth with this easy as pie black powder heart seeker combo. Not only can they stealth with it, but it is extremely hard to interrupt because the kitten field blinds you too (and they’ll probably just stun-break or shadowstep away even if you do). Even if you manage to get them on low initiative or health for half a second they can just use their heal or utility to stealth until both regen (which takes no time at all). Throw 2 thieves in the mix and you have an unkillable duo since they can further stealth eachother with shadow refuge and smoke fields even when one has it on cooldown/has low initiative respectively. Maybe if thief was properly designed to be ineffective with low initiative there would be no problem, but because their dagger autoattack is supremely effective (especially when stealthed) there is absolutely no disincentive to blow initiative on stealthing at every possible opportunity.
In sPvP it may be fine because you can’t take objectives while stealthed, but in WvW skirmishes this is beyond broken.

Honestly the conjures have some good skills like earth shield pull and frost bow freeze… however it would be more useful if those skills were just normal utility skills so you don’t have to waste precious time summoning the weapons.

I switch to staff for very large scale battles, especially in chokepoints like bridges. Also for attacking people on keeps. Other than that I find it far better to roam with d/d since it’s much more dangerous being caught in a 1v1 scenario with staff than a zerg vs zerg scenario with d/d (much easier to stay back and switch to staff from d/d while the zergs begin fighting). I will say staff is amazing for kills in the large battles though.

What’s not to get? D/D has always been easiest to level/farm with due to massive amounts of untargeted fast cleave and AoE. Staff is mainly a support weapon and scepter is mostly single target with little fast cleaving.

I’ve been having a similar issue. Sometimes my gems get blurred out and I can’t sell anything on the tp. Only exiting the client fixes this. Could be related to the massive lag I’ve been experiencing lately.

I think they were playing a little bit too much Mario Kart when they came up with this. Only thing is, in that game fake blocks were balanced because the races didn’t occur on inch-wide beams and unavoidable platforms.
Ironically they didn’t take the item from Mario Kart that would have helped balance most: blue shells.

There can’t be a monopoly on (non FF) dyes since they drop constantly from unid dyes. If this is their new market price (which I doubt) then it is what it is. Nobody can control this market for more than a day or two, if that.
