Phantasmal Warlock: Damage now matches the tooltip.

Phantasmal Duelist: Damage now matches the tooltip. Increased damage to match the lost damage from a previous bug fix.

Phantasmal Berserker: Damage now matches the tooltip.

Phantasmal Mage: Damage now matches the tooltip.

Has anyone tested this? My interpretation is that the tooltips were wrong before and everything is the same, with the exception of Duelist which they increased the damage slightly.

How does this affect the nerf to iZerker which they said they would look into?

That’s can’t be high level spvp, because your warriors were killing people with Hundred Blades, and only bad players get hit with that.

What do you hope for with the Dec. 14 patch?

Ele is earthquake>lightningflash>fire attune> ring of fire> arcanewave>Cleansing fire>firegrab>maybe roll back and burning speed. So that’s actually 7-8 skills (fire attune is in there because its a damage skill from traits), so that’s fairly fair from one shot. And once again, one shot means a single hit. Hence the numerical value one (1).

Okay, maybe you prefer the term “global”… it’s a popular mmo term being “globalled”…

I’m still considering some of the offers I’ve seen in this thread. One of which seemed perfect in every way except for the guild name. I’m a little OCD about names. I’m particularly apprehensive about names that has anything to do with Demons, Evil, Murder, Fallen Angels, Devils, Darkness or anything Sinister within the guild title. I know it’s weird, but I blame it on my unshakable OCD.

It’s such a shame too because the guild had pretty much all the standards I was looking for.

I’ve also been glossing over some of the offers I received in my inbox as well. I appreciate the interest. I don’t want to make any hasty decisions since I plan on sticking with the guild of my choosing for the long haul.

To be fair, I’m asking for a lot. But I’m patient. I want to play with amazing players. People who take the time to research their professions and put the time and effort into perfecting their game-play. Yet, I want to be in an atmosphere which is rather well-collected and not the abrasive, swinish type that is unfortunately common in many high end guilds.

I’m expecting to play with people who generally portray themselves as if they were responsible, mannerly adults in public. In light of that, I don’t want to be with a guild which encourages extreme dedicated hours or mandatory in game practices. I also don’t want to play with people who “rage” whenever they experience frustration.

Thank you for the consideration, and if you know of any guilds like this… please reply to this thread or send me an in game message.

Sincerely,

(edited by Jasher.6580)

There’s no one-shots in the game, with the exception of Kill Shot and Backstab against really absolutely nakedly squishy targets.

100-blades hits X times. It’s not like it’s something that just falls from the sky and is unavoidable. It has a long cast time. Here’s a solution: Walk away. Dodge. You know it’s coming. You have NO excuses to not do anything about this one-trick pony build.

If you decide to eat the whole thing, then sure as hell you deserve to die.

The “LOL NOOB JUST DON’T GET HIT” argument is getting old. The point is, giving one ability the capability of taking your life from full to zero isn’t balanced. This “one trick pony” apparently doesn’t work on good players… only bad players right? So why have it in the game? To frustrate bad players and discourage them from playing pvp?
Obviously because it doesn’t work on good players am I right?

fact is: you can be caugh by 100b once, twice…20times…there will be a day you will avoid every 100b every warrior will try to use against you.
ofc i am talking about tournaments, and it is called “learn to play issue”. if you , like everyone these days, are whining about being killed by 100b in spvp, well. there is no need to post in forum really.

Then as I stated above… if this is only a noob killer why is it in the game then? If good players never get hit by it, it’s basically a worthless ability for a pro to use against other pro’s… and all it does is frustrate noobs and discourage them from pvping. Why are one shot moves in the game if all they do is frustrate us “bad” players?

No one in their right mind is saying you’re not going to get caught by 100 blades. 100 blades can be identified and avoided provided you have the adequate awareness of the situation going on, and through the options provided dodge/build/utility/teamplay. Sometimes, given that this is a multiplayer game, these things will not be available to you, and you will die.

Its not a learn to play issue, its just a matter of acceptance. Sometimes you’ll get caught in embarrassing situations and get taunted, others you will laugh at the warrior as you pick apart his feeble attempts to do damage.

Let it go.

So you’re saying that having a move that one shots people is okay to have in a video game?

So I watched the “State of the Game Discussion” interview with Jonathan Sharp. I never expected anything less considering that both he and Izzy plays Warriors… I digress… the current balance is not good.

Hundred blades being able to kill someone in an instant no matter how situational it is, is stupid. Say you are in a big party fight and you used up all your dodges and you’re in a corner… it’s okay to get one shot? … say you’re helping to rez someone and they sneak up behind you with quickness… it’s okay to get one shot? … say you’re channelling your finishing move and someone just comes up behind you and pops quickness and hundred blades… it’s okay again to get one shot? … Say you just used up your stun breaks and he just bulls charge, rushes in with quickness… it’s okay to get one shot?

I don’t care if they spread out the damage throughout the class, or give them more utilities to combat conditions and make them a more viable class in competitive gameplay… I don’t care if they get BUFFED as a pvp class. Yes I’m advocating BUFFING Warriors and Thieves. BUT the ability to just “global” someone is stupid.

This whole… argument of “noobs learning to play” is asinine. If this move was so easy to dodge and only kills noobs… why is it even in the game then? It doesn’t hit good players and it one shots bad players…

So what do you get… a lot of “noobs” being demolished and turned off from PvP and all you “pros” running a pointless spec when playing with “good” players who can always avoid this “easy” move.

I was rezzing someone just now and in a second… BOOM, I’m dead… before I could even break the channel from rezzing… I was dead. In an instant. Then the guy has the gall to whisper me saying I was bad and I should learn to avoid it.

Right. One shot.

Hi there, a little about myself. I play a level 80 Human Mesmer on the Jade Quarry server.

My prior gaming experience was primarily World of Warcraft. I did however dabble in other mmorpg’s as well. I was a hardcore raider for about 5+ years. Nevertheless, I found the hardcore raiding environment psychologically toxic so I decided to take a step away from that domain.

I’m looking for a relaxed guild with stellar players who can not or do not want conform to the demeaning and loutish behaviour of traditional “hardcore” guilds. I would love to be a part of a guild where the players demonstrate above-average intelligence, exemplary skill, a thorough understanding of game mechanics, maturity, a strong command of the English language, and a lack of kittening, kittengery, kittentery, and anything else that would make themselves unpleasant to be around. More than just good players, I’m looking to join a guild with people who I will enjoy killing pixels with.

I am still learning the overall mechanics of the game, I’m no expert… but if you are patient, I will learn… and I will get better. A friendly attitude goes a long way. I’m currently interested in doing dungeons, and I would love to dabble in a little spvp (I actually suck at pvp… but I want to get better and be more involved in it).

I’m currently level 15 in the Fractals dungeons, and I’m level 20 in Mists PvP.

All in all, I’m looking for very active (I play a lot), friendly people who I can grow with and who will help me to become a better player. I use vent mostly, but I also have mumble and C3 downloaded.

Sincerely.

You ll have to logout completely each time you go AFK. Its a bug, it needs to be fixed. But, yes, it probably doesn’t have the highest priority.

I wonder if they even have it on the radar though. I remember having huge and popular threads in the beta reporting bugs, and it went ignored until some random poster on a reddit AMA metioned it and they were like… “OH WOW! Thanks for that, I’ll report it asap”…

All I could think was… there was a HUGE thread in your beta forums on that very issue…

I don’t know about you guys, but I am eagerly looking forward to slay Trahearne on the fields of battle when his Elder Dragon shows up.

Trahearne is obviously the big ploy from the Sylvari dragon. He is not only combined Tyria’s military, science and intelligence leaders all into one centralized (vulnerable) organization, but he is the one that sits at the top and calls the shots. He’s even been a key part to destroying one of his Elder Dragon master’s rivals, as Elder Dragons are all enemies of one another.

Sadly we won’t be able to drive all the Sylvari back to whence they came, as they are a playable race so there needs to be “good guy” Sylvari. But I am sure that there will be plenty of weeds to whack, and seeing how good they are at infiltrating and amalgamating Tyria’s defences, it is going to be a long hard battle filled with a lot of intrigue.

Ok maybe that is more so just wishful thinking that we will get to fight/kill Trahearne, if anything Trahearne will probably just make some dumb line about “blah-blah-destiny, blah-blah-I-can’t-do-it”. And maybe that is more wishful thinking that the Sylvari’s Elder Dragon is going to be all about the subterfuge and giving us a real reason why there was so much haphazard amalgamations of military bodies and surrendering of sovereignty to this New-World-Order

.

Spoiler alert: The sylvari are not dragon minions. There’s no sylvari dragon.

We don’t see any risen, branded, icebrood or destroyer moa birds either — does that mean that moa birds are super secret dragon minions too? By all evidence they are immune to dragon corruption as well, the only thing preventing it from being canonical is there’s apparently no one in the lore that’s made such claims yet.

^^ This kind of “evidence” is what the “sylvari are dragon minions!” theory is based in. ^^

Moving on.

Are you sure? I read somewhere with some pretty convincing evidence that the Pale Tree was an Elder Dragon.

I play a support/heals mesmer. I’ve always veered towards tanking or heals. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, there are two types of mmo’ers.

The selfish, rock star dps, who demands the spotlight, and the tanks/heals who really keep the ship afloat. If dps is the lead guitar, then tanks are the drummers, who set the pace, and heals are the bass, who hold down the line and keep it going.

Point being that I highly suspect that all the Traherne haters are rock star dps types, and they so hate sharing the spotlight. They so hate that anyone but them could save the world, and that in fact it takes actual cooperation and unity in order to dominate.

Eat rocks dps, cry me a river. Be ressing you soon.

I was a tank in WoW from Vanilla, through to sunwell, all the way to Heroic Deathwing when I quit WoW. Tanks have always been the superstars, all the attention is on us, we are the focal point of the entire run. We set the pace. I have no idea where you get this nonsense about DPS being rockstars. Nobody remembers the DPS… everyone remembers the tank. And that’s the way I liked it.

Not saying you are botting, but this does sound like an anti-botting measure.

You realize botters could just automate relogging in, or just make a macro to keep themselves from getting kicked to character select, right?

This only inconveniences legit players.

People don’t realize that inconveniencing botters is nigh impossible. Furthermore, most botters never go inactive. Ever. So it would be a non issue for botters.

It was nerfed 1 day after it was added. Nothing has changed since then as far as I can tell.

The first day FotM was added each chest dropped 1 rare 90% of the time and 2 rares 50% of the time with the occasional exotic. I did 20 fractals that day and walked away with 30 rares. Since that day I have done an additional 40 fractals and have walked away with 3 rares total.

Fractals haven’t dropped rares since that first day, I don’t know why after today’s patch people are finally noticing that.

I think the most attracted part in GW2 is everyone can play in his own way. We don’t label some stupid “role” to players and no need to force them to do the “right thing”. Unless the dungeon is totally impossible for 5 MF-gear players, I think wearing MF gear to a dungeon should be OK.

I’m not sure if you are understanding the point. Playing our own way is all well and dandy. Nevertheless, if you are negatively impacting the experience of others then you aren’t allowing other people to play the way they want, which is efficiently.

I dream of a Tyria where people recognize that about 20% of their stats come from gear. Where people just relax their pretty kittens about gear and put that energy toward trying not to suck at playing instead.

Jasher.6580

I’ll never get why people will rail on groupmates for bringing some MF, but not when they overspec survivability. You never hear “Why aren’t you running full berserker gear? You’ve never got close to being downed.”

Maybe because the spec is completely the playstyle of the player, while wearing MF is simply the greediness of the player.

I’ve ran about 40+ fractal runs, about 15 of them were with full MF + food…the difference is ridiculous LOW considering the majority of groups skip mobs. Fractals are not a place where you gain an huge profit anyways unless you farm the low difficulties…i don’t see a reason of why anyone would agree with using MF on higher difficulties since time = profit.

If you can do 10 runs with MF gear and 13-15 in the same time you will probably get more profit from no MF runs since chests are what gives the most profit anyways, so the argument “to get more” is actually wrong since time = gold.

On topic, vials seems to not be affected by MF imo, it’s completely random.

Sleepy hit the nail on the head. MF is the epitome of player selfishness and greed. I have absolutely no idea how it made it into this game.

If you start playing a casual game with that attitude, you will most likely not enjoy it.

This is easily the most ridiculous rebuttal on the topic I’ve ever heard. So basically you’re saying it’s a casual game focused on casual performance. So balance and gaming etiquette has no place in this game?

That’s good, so you wouldn’t mind running with a part who decides not to wear any gear whatsoever… bar a white level 1 weapon so they can activate their skills? Also, no traits… traits are stupid. Pulling up that pain breaks their immersion.

You don’t need gear to clear a dungeon. It can be done (it actually can). It may take an hour or 2 long… but who cares? You can’t tell people how to play. They like wearing white weapons… white symbolizes purity. It’s how they enjoy playing.

Damage over time is always more situational and strangely tuned in comparison to direct damage. It’s more something that’s added because people like the play style.

In the case of the stack limits it probably has to do with spells like these:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Epidemic
Without stack limits the amount of damage that could be done in a PvP situation (or a PvE one that depended heavily on adds) would be absolutely out of control with 2-3 Necros timing it in synch.

Then simply put a limitation on that particular spell. No need to butcher condition damage for everyone else.

I have a two part question.

First of all… the people who used transmutation stones on their legendaries with the stats from an exotic weapon… when they decide to implement Ascended weapons and legendaries get bumped up… wont those people be at a huge disadvantage since they transmuted the stats from an exotic weapon?

Also… for all the work put into acquiring precursors… will precursors be left at exotic level or will they also be bumped up to Ascended level? I’m also curious about other rare/hard to get exotic skins which require a lot of mats such as Valcanus, Vision of the Mists, etc… will these also be bumped up to Ascended level as well since they are so expensive/grindy to make?

I am very concerned.
