P.S. I deliberately am not getting my world complete so that I don’t have the ’I’m over here you dunderhead!" star on my nameplate. I feel like this star should be OPTIONAL for all stealth capable classes. There should be a check-box in the achievements window or something.
they fixed the star problem a few patches ago. you no longer see stars from enemy servers.
Yes but what about Hotjoin and sPvP. Can’t they see the star?
Confusion from Trident clones was a bug that was fixed last patch.
Well at least give the clones an actual trident… Right now they have no weapons.
Clones do not have the offhand weapon of the Mesmer. (very bad)
Clones don’t show the buffs or the signets of the Mesmer. (again very bad)
Underwater Trident clones don’t have any weapons whatsoever. (Since the last patch they don’t give confusion on attack) (extremely bad)
We should really get these issues addressed and not have the developers gloss over them as usual.
Hi there, a little about myself. I play a level 80 Human Mesmer on the Jade Quarry server.
My prior gaming experience was primarily World of Warcraft. I did however dabble in other mmorpg’s as well. I was a hardcore raider for about 5+ years. Nevertheless, I found the hardcore raiding environment psychologically toxic so I decided to take a step away from that domain.
I’m looking for a relaxed guild with stellar players who can not or do not want conform to the demeaning and loutish behavior of traditional “hardcore” guilds. I would love to be a part of a guild where the players demonstrate above-average intelligence, exemplary skill, a thorough understanding of game mechanics, maturity, a strong command of the English language, and a lack of kittening, kittengery, kittentery, and anything else that would make themselves unpleasant to be around. More than just good players, I’m looking to join a guild with people who I will enjoy killing pixels with.
I am still learning the overall mechanics of the game, I’m no expert… but if you are patient, I will learn… and I will get better. A friendly attitude goes a long way. I’m currently interested in doing dungeons, and I LOVE to dabble in a little tournament PvP.
I’m currently level 29 in the Fractals dungeons, and I’m level 24 in Mists PvP.
All in all, I’m looking for very active (I play a lot), friendly people who I can grow with and who will help me to become a better player. I use TS3.
I’ve been in some very good guilds. Really great people, but the guilds are all very WvW oriented. These guys are very good at WvW… very focused, very organized and very successful… but I don’t like WvW… it’s not my cup of tea.
So here I am, looking for a guild that would suit my needs. I’m willing to transfer to another server if needs be.
Sincerely.
These is one of the worths post of a carebear for sure, and i really wish i could have a magic potion a pk all the pve heroes also they dont deserve wvw buff.
How is this a carebear post? I’m just looking for an active guild which isn’t all about WvW.
My client freezes and wont go back into the game whenever I tab out to my desktop. Has anyone else been having the same problem and have you found a fix for it?
I agree with the OP 100%. This is actually one of my biggest gripes… I’m typing something in chat and BOOSH… cut scene. -_-
Even if they released 10man content it wouldn’t be farmed unless people got superior stats out of it.
Why do you think so? I strongly disagree with this sentiment. Unique skins would be enough.
looks youve got a few options, you should probably say what times you play on. Lot of guilds might be from different countries and play at different times
Where are these options? I’m genuinely curious.
i think its crazy that gw1 let you have crazy customization freedom mixing 2 professions and was still the most balanced PVPs i’ve ever played,
yet gw2 only has single classes to balance and is one of the most unbalanced PVPs i’ve played.did they replace the entire dev team?
GW1 was far from balanced. It was a terrible game in my honest opinion.
I really don’t like WvW… as a matter of fact, it’s the only aspect of the game I don’t like. All the healthy, active guilds I’ve seen are all WvW focused… it’s slightly annoying. Aren’t there any big, healthy, active PvX guilds out there?
I’ve been in some really good guilds, but they are so WvW focused and driven… not my cup of tea. They all tell me… if you WvW with us, you will like it! TRUST ME!!! … I never do. At this point, I’ve come to accept the fact that I’ll never like WvW… which is fine.
I love dungeons, I’m level 30 at fractals… and almost to the point of getting dungeon master. I love tournament PvP…. love it… so yeah… I love the game. I just hate WvW… but I feel like all the good guilds are WvW focused. It’s depressing.
Well, it’s all about preferences. I’m not much of a sPVP person.
Anyways, you know you can start a “PVP Guild”, right? Go to Lion’s Arch and every other major cities (to recruit some new players/players using their alts) and shout:
Step right up! Step right up! <Guild Name> is recruiting for players who like sPVP. We are a sPVP oriented guild that <insert guild goal here>
:)
I’m already in an sPvP guild. I’m just looking for a PvE/PvX guild right now which isn’t so focused and adamant on WvW participation from its members.
Good Elementalists are EXTREMELY powerful. Also, you obviously haven’t seen some good Necro’s in paids… Bomb Engineers are also beast.
These is one of the worths post of a carebear for sure, and i really wish i could have a magic potion a pk all the pve heroes also they dont deserve wvw buff.
I actually play a lot of Tournament PvP. I like PvP a lot. I don’t like WvW. Also… keep your buffs. I don’t care.
I play on Jade Quarry, but I’m not against transferring if I can find a big, active, friendly, organized PvX guild that wasn’t so hellbent on WvW.
Being on Jade Quarry definitely explains the situation.
JQ was one of the earliest destination servers for committed WvW’ers (I believe most of the ex-DAoC’ers went there). They are also probably one of the only original big WvW servers to maintain their position at the top. Other servers fall apart under the pressure, but JQ sticking around is probably down to the maturity and quality of their WvW guilds.
Definitely look at moving to a mid-tier server on the WvW rankings list before free transfer end. Maybe advertise in the guild recruiting forum here what you are looking for, and I’m sure a suitable PvE guild will snap you up and ease the move.
I’ve been on the guild recruitment forum. All the big, active guilds on there are WvW focused. The PvX guilds are really small and seem really fickle.
Warriors do so much more damage than every other class. It’s really stupid.
I hate magic find. It needs to go.

in WvWvW, you can use medieval or modern military tactics, which is fun.
I respect that you think it’s fun. I don’t like it though… which is okay. The game has so many other incredible features. I just wish I could find a big, active, organized, friendly guild which wasn’t focused on WvW.
I would actually like option 4. A Utility skill which grants swiftness with a long duration like Guardian’s retreat.

Please DO NOT let Maw target Mesmer clones. It is annoying and only makes the fight longer. Plus people get mad at me when I pop clones and I am a Phantasm specced Mesmer.
Please fix this.
How would you guys rate the Sceptre/Pistol, Staff condition build? I tried out the shatter build last night and I felt like I was a lot more effective with the condition build. Maybe I just need to get better with the shatter build?
What are your views?
Probably still Shatter build. Which means Sword/pistol as your main set and what ever as you secondory set ( GS or Staff are good options) You go like 20/20/0/0/30
What are the runes and sigils that you run? Also, how effective is the Phantasm build in sPvP?
I have been running a condition build I stole from the Team Paradigm website. Staff/Sceptre, Pistol. It has been pretty effective so far.
Nevertheless, I’ve been hearing a lot about a shatter build and a phantasm build which may be a little more effective?
What are the details behind these builds? Could someone link these builds for me with runes and sigils from wowhead? Also, how do they stack up against one another in terms of effectiveness?
Thanks in advance.
If an enemy uses a reflectable move inside a Feedback bubble, it doesn’t reflect after it hits the inner surface of the bubble: it is reflected immediately, i.e. the projectile hits them without traveling.
If that is the case then why is it that the knockback effect of the Harpy projectile doesn’t happen to the harpy inside the bubbly, and only the harpy behind him after hitting the outside shell?
(edited by Jasher.6580)
I tried it again today and paid close attention. Same results… it’s like only the outer part of the shell is reflective which seems counter intuitive.
It works properly yes, there are some attacks that are not affected even though it seems like they should be though and there are some mobs that are too tall or too high up (could be the case of harpies) so their attacks happen outside the bubble even though it sometimes looks like it is fired from within.
Here’s what I’ve noticed though… the Harpy which I put the bubble around… he shoots through the bubble… however the harpy right behind him… he shoots at the bubble from behind and it is reflected back at him.
(edited by Jasher.6580)
It seems to reflect things touching the outside of the bubble, but when the bubble encompasses my target, the target still seems to shoot through it. Like the harpies stupid knock-back move.
Jasher, he understands. Quickness does what he is saying – it speeds up attacks but not cool downs. If your phantasm has a one second attack and a 5 second cool down, giving it quickness speeds up the one second attack but not the 5 second cool down.
Hrm… okay. Well then the activation could decrease the cooldown and the abilities of the clones, speed up the attacks while increasing all incoming damage to the Mesmer and the clones by 50%.
(edited by Jasher.6580)
My guild is growing rapidly and we are having more fun than we’ve ever had since the game launched.
I agree with the OP, one possible suggestion is to have the active ability give the phantasms quickness but increase their damage taken by 50%.
I don’t think quickness reduces the cd between the phantasm attacks so it would be wasted most of the time imo.
You don’t understanding… activating it would give them quickness. So even if it doesn’t now… it would do it with the suggestion.
Customization is welcomed in this case. All the people saying that they need the colours to differentiate the profession from all the others are lying.
I agree with the OP, one possible suggestion is to have the active ability give the phantasms quickness but increase their damage taken by 50%.
Pink is the colour that used to be associated with baby boys (light red).
lol… yeah right. And if that’s the case. Being associated with baby boys is manly… nice.
If they allowed me to change the colour of my Mesmer animations from pink/purple to blue/red/green… something more manly.
Would you think a samurai is manly?
No I would not.
Cant be done we need to be able to recognize the skills (often by coller) to know what feelds and effects will be in use
So you’re telling me that if they give the option to change the Mesmer animation colours to blue, you wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s a Mesmer? Are you serious? The Mesmer animations are so obvious.
If they allowed me to change the colour of my Mesmer animations from pink/purple to blue/red/green… something more manly.
Without autofacing, you’ll have people ghosting and bunny hopping all over in PvP, which is not only annoying but it looks stupid. Also, most channelled abilities in WoW autoface, like Arcane Missiles.
@ Mesmer: We’ll be addressing the current Mesmer build that’s spiking for insane damage. Sorry that change got through – it is something we’ll be fixing.
@ Macros: Macros are against the user agreement. You can be banned for using them, so use them at your own risk. I would also advise against using them, because in live tournaments, you won’t be able to use macros. So it makes little sense to learn “bad habbits” you’ll just have to retrain later.
We adhere to the same “one keystroke = one action on one character/account”, which is used by a lot of MMO publishers when defining botting/macros.
Just wanted to clear that up – be careful w/ those macros, they can get you banned.
Translation:
Mesmers spike for “insane damage”… NERF!
Thieves and Warriors spike for even more damage than than the supposed “insane Mesmer damage”… Learn to play noob!
Balanced? I think not.
I disagree with almost everything in the article.
It fires off a little faster then it did before and damage was reduced per hit in exchange IIRC
With the way things are looking though, it seems like iZerker just does more damage than iWarlock. I may as well salvage my Staff. lol
So I tried staff iWarlock with my Phantasm build in Fractals tonight. The damage was horrendous even with a ton of conditions on the boss. Did they nerf iWarlock?
Even though they said they fixed the drop quality, I doubt they did. It still drops the same garbage.
I don’t play a Thief. But playing against P/P Thieves during this change, I think they still suck. They may even need another buff.
I disagree with the OP. I love this change.
Wow shatter strength so powerful now that running anything but a shatter build in pve is a completely stupid. 172 damage per bleed -.- hellllll yeah
Did they buff Mind Wrack damage or something?
I see people in here talking about nice improvements. Don’t be mistaken, Phatasms do the same damage they did before. They just fixed the tooltips. In other words, shatter builds are still king because our Phantasms don’t do that good damage.
iZerker is still crippled from that first nerf and they are still bugged on top of that.
Update – the beserker appears to be missing attacks in it’s second attack run now instead of the first.
Just tested against target dummies – beserker is wtfpwning the target dummies again without missing. Haven’t taken a close look at damage but at least he’s not whiffing anymore.
Good to hear. I’m also interested to see how the Warlock does. Maybe it was just me but the damage felt like it decreased some after the last patch.
So basically all the phantasm damage is the same (except for iDuelist) and iZerker is still bugged with a nerfed low damage. Fantastic.
To add insult to injury, Warriors and Thieves are still one shotting people and our clones are all naked and just standing there now doing nothing.

Hot fix this please.
