I’m confused with all these people saying… “Oh, only 14g”… It’s HARD for me to get gold in this game. I already have 4 exotics and it felt like a serious grind for me to scrounge up the gold for them.
Think of the ugliest skin in the game. Ugly it up a bit more. Then beat it with the ugly stick. As long as it’s affordable, and can come with any stat combination found on any exotic, it would satisfy our request.
Exactly, this is what we’ve been saying all this time.
Now for level 80 “vanity” gear, thats part of the PvE end game. Remove that and there will be more complaints about lack of PvE end game in a PvP game.
There is no one in the thread asking to remove the “vanity” gear grind. We are asking for for a base set (doesn’t matter if it’s ugly) that will offer all the different exotic gear sets and put us on par. So we don’t have to GRIND to remain competitive.
We want a grind for looks, not a grind for stats.
I love how people in here are saying they like the grind when ArenaNet said this wouldn’t be a game about grind… also… some of you are saying ONLY 2 gold. 2 gold is really hard to come by for me. I’m not sure how you guys are making 10-20 gold per day like you say.
Also, the crafted gear I want is almost 4 gold a piece.
I hate repeating myself but here you go, just for you: This is not about getting the best everything in the game, this is about being on an even playing field at level 80. This is about playing the game the way Colin Johanson envisioned it. This is about playing the game without a gear treadmill and having fun/

And if you decide you want a condition build, you have to do all that all over again… or an alt… or a healing build… or whatever. The game was initially touted as a game that wasn’t supposed to be about grinding gear. But it is…

how about they just hand us all the good gear as soon as we hit level 80 so we don’t even have to play the game.
They already hand you all the good gear in sPvP… all you do from that point on is farm skins… people still play sPvP… what is your point exactly?
I completely agree with the OP. They should have gone the sPvP route where all the stat sets are available to you for free with ugly skins and then we get to farm skins thereafter. That way we wont be at a statistical disadvantage and we will be encouraged to farm cool looking armour.
The bump from greens/rares to exotic is very marginal..
Are you being serious, or are you trolling? The health increase alone is significant. That’s a level 75 dungeon. Let’s talk about a level 75 going in there with level 75 blues and greens and not level 80 exotic gear.
I can’t move past the fact that rewards are basically non existent when comparing it to the difficulty and the massive time/gold sink we have to face with these incredibly over-tuned dungeons.

I don’t mind that the dungeons are hard but they really need to increase the rewards a thousand fold. The cost of the armour sets are ridiculous. It’s just a massive grind fest.

Suggestions:
- INCREASE the token drops by 200% and DECREASE the cost of the armour sets.
- INCREASE the amount of gold bosses drop to offset repair cost by 500%… yes 500%.
- Let bosses drop good loot… even if it has crappy skins (loin cloths) to offset the fact that it will take you weeks to farm the token gear.
Also, I just wanted to add… the rewards are way too low. Okay… lets say you even buff the difficulty of these already mind numbingly hard dungeons… fine. I wouldn’t want that… but okay fine.
The rewards… they need to be increased by a thousand fold. There is not enough incentive to run dungeons right now… not by a long shot. The fact that the risk greatly outweighs the opportunity cost (and I mean greatly) is a problem. A huge glaringly obvious problem. It makes the game feel way too grindy. WAY too grindy.
Jon… the difficulty of CoF explorable before the buff is what we find fun. Everything else is just frustrating and annoying.
It was the only dungeon I enjoyed. Everything else is mind numbingly frustrating.

You can basically do that by using the reset mode.
1. (On your character you want to do dungeon) log out to you character selection.
2. Log in with another character (not the one you’re doing the dungeon with) wait for the screen to load and till you’re in game.
3. (on your toon) Log out to character selection again, and then back to your character you’re doing the dungeon with.
4. The dungeon should be reset by now…but hey… if you have noticed this.. dungeon tends to be contested as well. This is to point out fluffy’s comment about stuff being exploit… It won’t be if these contested stuff happens more frequently.
What if I don’t have an alt? (I don’t by the way)… this seems like a really gimmicky and dumb way to reset a dungeon? Why not simply a dungeon reset button?
So basically what some people are saying is that… if I actually knew what you were wearing, I wouldn’t want to play with you… yet, you want me to play with you anyway?
So you’d rather hide that information from me just so that the big bad mean elitist guy will be forced to play with you due to anonymity and ignorance? Interesting…
I agree Jasher. Being able to “inspect” another player would help out the community. Honestly, players who try to join a group while decked out in white gear, or simply low level gear that as not been replaced is disrepectful to those who are wanting to perform well.
Why force me to trust someone flying blind? I would prefer teaming up with other players that are like-minded and willing to do the best they can to prepare, and do not expect other players to make up for their lack of effort. Surprisingly, I enjoy meeting like-mind people.
It’s far from a “completely unnecessary” feature.
It is not an “elite-ism” that I feel, but that this selfish entitlement that people think those WITH the hard earned gear should have others who have not piggy back on them. If you’re going to go at it casually do it with other casual players. If those players end up building a trust anyway, of course they will team up no matter what the gear is or what they see when they “inspect.”

If your only reason for wanting an inspect option is just to boot people who aren’t up to your standards then please leave. Even the people who HATE my opinions on the elementalist forum aren’t this bad. Your reward for having great gear is that you A: look cool and B: are a better player for it.
I was ambivalent towards this until I read that post. I now believe that this feature will only add negative aspects to the game which is proven here on this very forum.

Limit chest rewards for the day/week like in WoW… POOF, problem solved. The fact that you can wait outside for 5 mins and just farm it anyway is a problem in itself.

I get asked all the time about my armor, and I’m glad to link it and tell them where I found it as well. I see no need for inspect when you can simply ask.
What if they are AFK… what if they don’t respond… what if you don’t feel like talking to them? What if they don’t feel like talking to you? I hardly respond to whispers myself.
A hard reset is when all party members leave the instance, and the instance leader right clicks over his own portrait and then clicks the “Reset Instance” button. This restarts the whole instance, and all mobs will be back.
Currently, you have to jump through flaming hoops while hopping on one leg whilst reciting the national anthem in sign language in order to do a hard reset. Please make this more user friendly.
Quite often I find myself wanting to see what kind of skins people are using on their character.
I know some people are going to be like “QQ, this will make people elitist and not carry me on runs because of bad gear QQ”… well… honestly, why would you want to run with those people in the first place? Obviously they are either A.) Jerks or B.) Hardcore gamers who don’t want to run with you anyway… so the entitlement issues are a little bizarre.
An inspect option is much needed in this game. Please make this happen.

They look like the Devout set from the Diessa Plateau karma merchants, if I had to guess.
Where exactly is the karma merchant?
I would love to know the answer to this as well.
If for some reason you end up on the opposing team due to balancing and you were in party with someone from before… they can somehow see you in stealth. Not cool.
