Rangers are the worst class in PvP.

The leaderboards are not active.
Clarification: Professions have their own MMR tracked, but it is not currently used in matchmaking because players can switch professions after a match is made.
So a loophole is disabling a powerful tool to generate good matches?
I’d, uh, kinda close the loophole…
The problem with doing this is that players can no longer switch to a more effective profession once they see the enemy team’s roster which happens quite often.
Evan, PLEASE do not disable profession swapping.
Even PLEASE ignore this guy and disable it. AFTER you disable it, improve matchmaking and don’t allow teams to have ridiculous class stacking.
People who use that site make me sad.
No…
Cruuk plays a Thief. Thieves are very strong.

Agreed. They should disallow switching characters after matchmaking. Matchmaking should also ensure that teams are balanced in terms of class representation.
How is that a troll post? When since did truth become trolling?
So what if they keep attacking you? Just ignore them, keep checking your scoreboard, keep typing. It doesn’t matter if you die, the game is over…
Man, that video was HYPE!
so dragonbrand cant even write there own recuirtment messages, check out this post from nsp 4 months ago.

i think they copied and pasted most of it
lol…
I would enter myself but I think that wouldn’t be fair to everyone else.
If Wilson entered, it would be an auto win for him. He has the voice of an angel and the acoustical stylings of James kittening Taylor.
That was amazing.
I can just go invis, run away, heal, come back, invis, reposition, burst, invis, run away, heal, come back, invis… you get the idea. I’m sure you’ve played thief before.
And all the thieves in the game facepalm at this comment. lol
Since GW2 doesn’t hand out cash prizes for tournaments, its a non-issue.
I take it you don’t realise that the first and second place team receive cash prizes.
I didn’t know that. But what sense does it make that 10 non NA players can play across 5 teams but not allowed to play in 2 and still be allowed to win those cash prizes?
I am hard pressed to think that it is because of government restrictions. Most of these laws are based per the individual incurring the monetary prizes.
Anet’s response is to even things out by giving everyone
OPness which unbalances things even more.
By giving them “Oh” what now?
Me after winning a match: GG
Guy on other team: kitten off.
lol… this has happened to me more than once. I absolutely love it. I wish more people responded like that. It cracks me up. lol
My 2 cents.
If the reason for the restriction was due to government regulations then they couldn’t allow any players from those regions much less (2), where they currently permit a team of 3/5 NA players.
Restricting a player because they are from South America and then not having an option for a South American region bracket for whatever reason (even if it is due to a small population) is foolhardy for the organizers.
It is my understanding that there aren’t any monetary rewards in these tournaments. I believe its just gems and/or gold? There shouldn’t be an issue for the organizers to get rid of the restriction.
It is not as if some PC users don’t have issues too and the graphics on the Mac are gorgeous.
I currently run a PC. An Acer laptop. I have zero issues. Thanks for the info though.
A lot of Mac users prefer to use Bootcamp. That is because we lose a lot of performance because of it the program having to run through Cider.
I play on an IMac i7, and, while it is generally good just pottering about the world, I have to lower my graphics to Best Performance whenever there are a lot of people around such as at the event we have just done. If I don’t, my game is likely to crash.
I can also have crashes at random times too like when I go back to the character select screen or change maps.
I use a Razer Naga mouse but I haven’t bothered setting up the programmable buttons. I can’t comment on the eSports because I don’t know what they are
Ouch, that’s a little disheartening. Running bootcamp isn’t cool. Better to just play on a PC then. I was thinking about buying a Macbook Pro. But if I do, I don’t want Windows on it.
Hello?
Anyone?
I’m speaking generally? How well does it perform? I can go eSports on a MAC? Does it handle Razer peripherals well?
Best. Roommate. Ever.

Konichiwa kittenes! Are you looking for the most kick-kitten kittening roommate that ever lived?
If so, look no further. You kittening found him.
I’m a 25-year-old professional marketing agent with experience at bad-kitten companies in New York kittening City. That’s right! What you know about experience? I graduated from Auburn University in Alabama, and moved to NYC at the ripe, tender age of 22.
After deciding that New York was a stinky kitten-hole, I moved back to Alabama to cultivate more professional experience. Why? So I can make millions of dollars and not have to post kitten like this on Craigslist.
Anyway, so I landed this job with a marketing firm in San Francisco, and I have no kittening clue where to live. Honestly, I’m moving there in 3 weeks, so I don’t give a kitten if I have to sleep in your bathtub.
A bit about me:
I’m respectful, quiet, clean and I won’t bother any of your kitten. If you leave kitten out, I’m just like, “Oh kitten I better not mess with this kitten, because it’s not mine.”
I turn off lights. I clean toilets.
kitten it. I’ll even cook for you.
That’s right! My dad is a chef and taught me everything there is to know about cooking southern cajun cuisine. I’ll fry green tomatoes, cover them with marinated crab meat and smother that kitten in bearnaise. EVERY. GODkitten . NIGHT.
Don’t eat meat? That’s kittening FANTASTIC! I’ll make a zucchini and yellow squash carpaccio that will knock your kittening socks off.
I also read a lot. I kittening LOVE books. Vonnegut, Palahniuk, Hawthorne. All that kitten. I read Tuesdays with Morrie the other day. It’s a sad story, but I learned something about life, love, knowledge and the pursuit of something greater than myself.
kittening smart.
Do you like movies? I kittening love them. We can watch the kitten out of some movies together if you like, or go get drinks, or work out, hike, play video games or play a game of one-on-one basketball, or I don’t have to talk to you at all. It’s completely UP TO YOU!
Sometimes I play guitar. Are you going to love getting baked and listening to Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd? LIVE? WHENEVER THE kitten YOU WANT? Of course you are! I’ll take requests and learn any song you like, because I have the voice of an angel and the acoustical stylings of James kittening Taylor. AWWWWWW kitten YEA!
A lot of people ask me, “Hey, you’re from Alabama. Are you racist?” And, the answer to that question is, no. I’m not racist or judgmental at all. I love everyone. I’m a secular humanist. I kittenING LOVE PEOPLE. That’s the only requirement to being a secular humanist actually. You have to like other human beings and want to help them for no other reason than they are human regardless of race, religion or sexual preference. WTF?!!!? Pretty kittening cool right?
I own almost nothing! I’m driving my car from Alabama to California in which I’ll be transporting two duffelbags of clothes, one laptop computer, one guitar, one cell-phone with charger, 8 pairs of shoes, one picture frame, probably some condoms and a kittenload of beef jerky and Pringles for the trip. Though, you can expect the jerky to be gone upon my arrival. Unless you’d like me to pick up some on my way into the city. See?! I’m the most considerate person you’ve ever met. I’m offering to buy you kitten already!
Am I interested in your pad? You can bet my nomakittenitten I am! I only require 4 walls, a ceiling and a floor to shelter me from the elements. Other than that, anything else will be considered a convenient plus. I’m taking being a roommate to the next level. Email me! I’ll hook yo kitten up with Facebook links, background checks, credit reports, phone numbers, resumes, references, awards, sexual history, pictures of karate trophies and a list of the top 10 women I’d like to bang before I die. If you want a next-generation roommate who consistently blows your kittening mind with awesomeness, then hit me up. I’m ready to give you money.
- Cats are OK – purrr
- Dogs are OK – wooof

Genuine question.
They both have 1 extra stat point.
+1
Any counterplay is too much counterplay.
This made me laugh so hard I fell out of my chair and sprained my wang on the ground.
I have to agree. Guardian down skills are terrible. The only one just as bad is probably Mesmer.
i don’t press ready because i am too busy posting random crap on forums D8
What is a D8?
As a note, we’re aware of the odd interaction between elementalist downstate and Vampirism runes and are tracking a fix for an upcoming build.
What about the Overpowered interaction of stack 4 eles?
I believe 4 class stacking is against ESL rules.
Shouldn’t be. Ready my post above as to the why.
I agree with you VeeWee, 3v3 and market it hard to snatch away the WoW folks.
Due to the fact a net seem to take along time to balance classes, it would make sense if they implemented the class stacking maximum in TEAM games.
So a max of 2 types of the one class.
Yes or No?
I would quit the game if they did this.
New update to ESL: You can only use one class in each composition of 5 players. Choose wisely.
Lol, not quite, but there is a rule preventing the 4 ele team comp now
“3.11. League Specific Rules
Each team needs to consist of at least 3 different professions”
I don’t like this rule.
Reason: With leagues on the horizon, there are no restrictions with comps when ranking up in the Guild Team Leaderboards. Remember… they will also be using the leaderboards from each competitive season to help determine which teams will receive invitations to higher-tier tournament events.
If my friends and I play a 5 man Necro team and we have some success with it, we should be able to try out for ESL unhindered. There are no restrictions with the Guild Team Leaderboards.
If there are restrictions, bare in mind that there will be many top teams punished because 3 or more of the members (who are all friends) enjoy playing a particular class.
We should not punish player comps due to ArenaNet balance (or lack thereof).
As a matter of fact, I prefer when we have instances of 4-5 man Ele teams because it shines a harsher light on the balancing issues and will prompt the development team to act accordingly.
Obfuscating the glaring balance issue by creating flippant rules will only make matters worse. Because you will fix it in ESL, but the problem will still be running rampant in the ladder throughout the seasons.
Do not put a band-aid on a festering bullet wound.
(edited by Jasher.6580)
Just put the ready button right in the middle of the screen with flashing quaggans dancing around it so people don’t miss it.
I don’t think people are missing it. I think a lot of people don’t know that if everyone ready’s up it will start the match.
There’s not a single pvp’er I know in this world that actually cares about these points.
I also think that rewarding players for every fart is not a good habit.I don’t think it’s as much about the reward itself as it is about giving people personal gain incentive (the best incentive in mmos) to ready up with they’re ready.
I think if thats your goal, then it will possibly fail because there are tons of players like me who wouldn’t care about these points. And are most likely listening to music, doing other stuff while gw2 is minimized.
So I think a better suggestion would be to put the “Ready Up” button in a better spot. Or to make it larger. Or even have the guy screaming: “Your Lord is under attack!”, shout: “Are you ready bois?!”.
That would make me press that button
EDIT: use ROM’s voice
Great idea. Centuple the size and slap it in the middle of the screen. Make it so the screen is locked, so the person can’t do anything else in the game and yes… use Rom’s voice.
Make it a 10% reward track bonus that will stack with other modifiers when you click on the [change status] ready button before the time runs out. If you don’t click it, you lose out on the bonus.
Please make this happen.
Check out the dislike bar. I also disliked.

Fact:
1. Warrior has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP.
2. Elementalist has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
3. Guardian has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
4. Thief has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
5. Engineer has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
6. Elementalist has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
7. Mesmer has a meta build in both PvE and sPvP
8. Necromancer DOES NOT have a high tier build in PvE
9. Ranger DOES NOT have a high tier build in PvE or sPvP
I can always count on you Trevor Boyer.
What do you think Rangers and Necro’s would need to make them Meta Worthy in comps in both sPvP and PvE?
Also, why do you think it hasn’t happened for so long?
Also, I don’t believe in banning classes, builds, runes, sigils or any sort of restriction in a tournament setting to help create “balance”. The moment ArenaNet does that is the day I leave the game.
That is a slippery slope. If people don’t want to multi class and their only viable build in the meta is considered too strong they will be screwed.
So yeah… I don’t agree with you on that point.
Fact: IF vamp runes get nerfed, Thieves will be dead. There will be nothing to prevent them from immediately dying to organized burst.
I think you’re kinda missing the point. The point is that your rune set and sigils should enhance your build, not determine whether or not it’s viable. Too many people are falling back on runes of vamp as a crutch, which boils down to bad balance. The only thing I’m suggesting is that they get rid of the crutch atleast until A-net can eventually balance things out with classes, the mechanic of stealth in general, comp stacking etc.
Countless
Don’t get me wrong. I actually hate that it is a crutch. HOWEVER I am unconvinced that they would compensate the classes quickly enough after nerfing the runes.
So yes… I would love if they nerfed the runes if there was proper compensation… BUT I am sceptical that they will… which leaves me more on the side of “leave it alone”.
It’s kinda like how they stealth nerfed Fire/Air without compensating the classes that needed it.
I love conquest. I have a lot of fun watching the tournaments as well. So I disagree with the OP’s opinion.

Why are the Elemenatlists running vamp runes? I guess for the same reason they ran 4 Ele’s. They were trying to make a point during the tournies.
I don’t think vamp runes are optimal for Elementalists.
Personally, I am happy when I do not have a thief on my team.
Most Thieves do not play the class well. This may be a serious design flaw.
I’m sorry… I had to.
Cause Helseth have one arm broken, if not…
Right! Right! I totally forgot about that.
I was talking about TCG playing against oRNG, I dont get which sense this image has :p
I know… print it and tape it over your bed. Maybe you’ll get it after a while.
I’m sorry… I had to.
Cause Helseth have one arm broken, if not…
Right! Right! I totally forgot about that.
On a good team, thieves are extremely viable. A good thief, on a good team can “carry” that team. And by “carry” I mean the match will snowball in favour of the team with the Thief due to the mobility they possess. The ability to backcap is huge.
On a bad team, a good thief doesn’t contribute much.
Of all the classes, it’s less likely for a great player to carry a bad team with a Thief.
im also glad he worked on the warrior elite so that it wont be the same as ele and guardian lol, so everything robert gee worked on so far are well receive, mesmer, necro, warrior
Also Mesmer, Necro and Warrior got cool names in Chronomancer, Reaper and Berserker respectively as opposed to Dragonhunter for Guradian and soon to be “Dare Devil” for Thief sadface
I’m pretty sure every class’ current meta build puts up a very good fight against Thieve’s current meta build.
Am I wrong?
