Just name one class that can SAFELY kill a bunker guard on point without losing it. Talking about same skill level. Because, you know, pretty much evey spec in the game has an hardcounter that is supposed to win a 1v1 on point while on the same skill level.

Thief.

But to answer the question of the OP. Mesmer can kill a bunker Guard on point safely without losing the point.I can’t say I’ve ever died to a mesmer on point as bunker guard, unless I started with 0 cooldowns and 50% hp.
If they bait your dodges, watch for your aegis and Moa/Burst you, then it’s GG for a bunker Guard.

What is the average time that it takes before the rewards are distributed? Please be honest.

The hardest class to play properly is Thief.
Most people who play Thieves play it poorly. It is very difficult to find a good Thief for a team.
No need to buff it. You also had the opportunity to kill their Lord, just as they had the opportunity to kill yours.
The Abjured are the champions of the underdogs. For too long EU has been turning their noses up at NA in competitive online games.
It’s time for NA to silence those elitist jerks! Break the cycle of the European/Korean dominance. Bring the trophy home to North America boys!
p.s. I still think Leeto is awesome.
And what does this have to do with pvp?

Curious why he didn’t give a shoutout to Guild Wars 2. #sadface
top players are not gonna stage a duel…and it’s the only way to prove your point, this or looking at a celestial nec jumping against a dd ele in esl destroying him (And trust me…it’s not gonna happen)
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/v/9456915
2:31:00 – watch the mid point.
And before you say that Nos had high DS, he hardly used it and could have started it with 5% with the same outcome.
He is going to ask for 5 more examples because that situation was an outlier. Trust me. He has made up his mind.
harcounter, for those who apparently can’t read or understand means “Forcing someone to disengage 1v1 or die on point with basically no chances for the other guy to win considering same skill level”
got it now? i can also make a simple drawing if needed…sorry if i didn’t explain some basic term, i forgot i was writing on forums….my bad
That’s great and all, Lad, but the rest of us were talking about a hard counter. Feel free to go back to your simple drawings now.
Just for you man…hope it helps
I’m glad you understand now, Lad. All’s that’s left is for you to understand that Celestial Signet Necromancer is a hard counter to Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist.
as i already said about it…upload a best of 5 1v1s on point with celestial nec winning 3 times(At least…should be 5 if nec doesn’t mess up but 3 is kinda enough) without getting decapped
give me link and my quest would be over
That’s not going to do anything because all you’re going to say is the the Ele was bad, it was or rigged and/or say he was having an off day. You already have your mind made up. Psychology 101.
Even if celestial sig may beat ele, it would take way too long to be considered worthwhile in a real game where players can just rotate one dps into the fight. IMO, I would much rather have an ele than a necro on a team based solely on mobility and team support.
Define way too long and worthwhile. The scenario he is painting is this.
At the start of the match a random class takes home point and caps it. An Ele shows up right after to force a decap on the random class.
The OP is insinuating that every class will always lose to a good Elementalist in that specific scenario guaranteeing side caps at the start of the match at the very least.
Nevertheless, I realized soon-after that this was simply a thinly veiled nerf Elementalist thread, so I told him to carry on.
I don’t even have an Elementalist on my account. I was messing around with a level 1 Ele for a couple weeks recently but I deleted after I felt like I got a decent handle on how the class worked.
You people keep saying “oh cele necro destroys d/d ele in 1v1s”
But this is what you people are forgetting, Cele necro can’t escape a gank without Plague form and D/D ele has easy mode mobility.
Cele necro is easy to gank, it can definitely take around 10 seconds max in a top tier game if the Cele necro doesn’t have plague form up. D/D ele doesn’t need fiery greatsword to escape a gank and they have easy mode evade spams on top of their escapes and they can handle a 1v2 better.
TL;DR D/D ele still deserves to get nerfed, specificially their damage with all that easy mode tankiness and sustain that they already have.
Okay, Elementalists need to get nerfed regardless. Cool. Now let’s get back to the OP’s original question… and the answer to the question is that Celestial Signet Neco can SAFELY 1v1 a Cele d/d Ele on point without losing it.
That’s all everyone has been trying to say to the OP. But he’s not hearing it.
Celestial Signet Necromancer hard-counters Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist.
He doesn’t want to hear that.
prove it: get a good cele necro and go 1v1 with a good d/d cele ele on your point…kill him while point is still yours, do it at least 3 times out of 5 (To prove it’s a real hardcounter…even if a real hardcounter would be 5 out of 5) upload it on youtube and post link here.
Pretty easy and you would definately prove your point
Otherwise it’s just worthless forum spam
This obviously goes for everyone saying i’m just whining with no point…i’m just waiting for your links now
And remember i’m talking about esl level (As i already said) so that should be a top nec vs a top cele d/d, cause atm (In EU) i didn’t see anyone not even trying to 1v1 a cele d/d on his point on purpose (Except for helseth goin yolomode)…i don’t care about unranked, ranked or whatever…it’s a real question to find something that can hardcounter a high tier d/d crossing to close at start without having to 2v1 him
Rym who plays Necro just told you that Celestial Signet has major advantage. What more do you want?
Celestial Signet Necromancer hard-counters Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist.
Hard counter? That’s going way too far imo. They aren’t in a small closed space. The ele has great mobility and can disengage and reengage endlessly unless something goes really wrong. The necro can’t do that.
Hard counter to me means the necro would totally shut down the ele which isn’t accurate. But yes I’d say it’s a soft counter for boon-reliant specs in general. In a vacuum I think the necro would win most/all duels but conquest is so much more than dueling.
The OP asked for a spec that can… and I quote, “1 spec that can SAFELY 1v1 a cele d/d ele on point without losing it”
The answer to the OP’s question is Celestial Signet Necro…
but again… he doesn’t want to hear that.
The purpose of this thread is to highlight Elementalists as overpowered. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Celestial Signet Necromancer hard-counters Celestial Dagger/Dagger Elementalist.
He doesn’t want to hear that.
Why do people complain about Ele if there are also a lot of people in this thread saying a bunch of build can win over Ele?
I feel like there are two classes of players: the ones who walk in and out of Ring of Fire multiple times, and the ones who don’t.
well…actually there is still no viable hardcounter to 1v1 eles on points, something MAY work but there’s nothing that is even close to be a good 1v1
but i just guess you play ele so i understand your need to prove that it actually takes skill to win…fair enough, at least you tried
I see now… you’re on a mission. No matter what anyone says to you, you’re not really here for actual feedback. This is just another Ele is OP thread.
My bad. Carry on.

Experience with thief: Thief was my first level 80 in 2012. I switched my focus to Guardian/Ranger/Mesmer after the 15% Pistol Whip nerf October 2012. I recently started playing Elementalist and then decided to play a bit of Thief because it was the only class I haven’t mastered in PvP.
Upon playing Thief for a while, I fell in love with the class again and officially switched my main back to Thief.
If you don’t think Cele Necro countes D/D Ele, you aren’t playing Cele Necro properly.
Or maybe the one who’s not playing properly is the ele…
No. Necro counters Ele.
If you don’t think Cele Necro countes D/D Ele, you aren’t playing Cele Necro properly.
Swinsk! Where have you been? I play Thief now. Also, I agree with you. This idea is terrible..
1:00 a.m. Pacific Time?
this lol, have work sunday too :|
Well the match is ultra early Saturday morning so you can sleep all day Saturday after the match. It wont affect work on Sunday.
It’s still super early though… But I gotta see my boy Toker wreck EU.
I agree with you Vee Wee. If that was really their explanation for hiding MMR I’m actually infuriated.
I do not think this is a good idea at all.
1:00 a.m. Pacific Time?
You can do it, Jasher!
I’ll try but that’s 3:00 AM where I live.
I’d love to see necros own eles
Signet Necro’s counter Ele’s.
I RP constantly.
I’m a dancer. I enjoy doing dances and singing songs in the PvP lobby.
It’s a little bit difficult for us to take hearsay as a consideration.
Are you able to provide us with still images or film? We cannot envision a scenario we have never been faced with in the past.
it’s a nerf to power-based builds/professions that never needed to happen. people are quick to applaud this as they see it as a nerf to mesmer but it affects guardian, thief, ranger, and engineer in ways that are completely unnecessary.
if you can honestly say there is any justification in nerfing any of those profession’s damage output you have no idea what you’re talking about.
The justification is that it was unavoidable damage with no counter-play. If the damage of a profession is too weak with these changes, then buff that profession in a way that there’s still counter-play.
The thing is that, all the classes which used it in PvP were not OP with it. Now some of their burst is lacking.
“Hey that has no counterplay nerf it!” nobody who used it was op though…
“Nerf it anyway!”
Sigil of Air and Sigil of Fire are bugged. A test with 30 samples gave coefficients of 0.635 (fire) and 0.823 (air). Previous coefficients were 0.85 and 1.1, so these are very close to a 25% damage reduction. I suspect the true values are probably 0.6375 and 0.825 for the exact 25% reduction.
You should look to some more established 5v5 events.
^ This.
A balanced team with decent players would utterly destroy a team full of Rampage Warriors or any other gimmick you could possibly fathom from your current banned list.
Dude, you can’t ban items that are allowed in 5v5 tournament play.
^ This.
I hope I didn’t come off as rude earlier. In retrospect I should have worded what I said differently.
What you’re doing is great and I hope you get all the support in the world.
Nevertheless, unless a trait is bugged… I don’t think you should ban any skills, builds or comps. Some people may think something is “gimmicky”, but if it is intended behaviour by the development team you should let it be.
We should not foster the “scrub” mentality. Check this link for further explanation: http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub

Elite Skill Rampage has been BANNED from all League of PvP Matches

lol… I don’t play Warrior, but this is stupid.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Hehk the one who originally theorycrafted the SB/SB troll Thief build back in the day?
If people are in a bad mood because of balance which is maintained by anet, then why do you say “keep up a good work anet” to them?
It’s like telling them they should do it again and again and again.
I’ve been playing since launch, and in my personal opinion PvP balance is finally going in the direction it should be going. Balance is a dynamic endeavour, you don’t just fix and forget.
They are doing a very good job. Where they are taking PvP is where it should be going. Things are not perfect but they are getting better. The pace and the feel of the classes are better than they have ever been.
So I was doing a match last night and someone told me I should drink bleach and die because I didn’t res him.
People, there is no need to be mean and angry. Listen to some Bob Marley and relax!
I’m sure people will still use some mantras,
That’s the thing. No they wont.
I agree with Countless.
Countless… er… I mean, Jasher.
whats a boogie woogie ?
I have noticed that a lot of people in sPvP have been in a really bad mood lately. Personally I think balance (though not perfect) is going in the right direction. I want to encourage everyone (the developers included) that this is still a really fun game.
Let your hair down, relax, play the game, have fun and be a ticklishly wonderful and huggable boogie woogie.
I love you all!
Keep up the good work AreaNet.
Love always,
Jasher
I would not be interested in any sport or esport if it didn’t have trash talk and drama.
Ele is so easy to play at higher levels, it will make you lazy.
At high levels of play how to do you consistently beat Necro’s, Thieves and DPS Guardians? Especially Necros?
I’m still having a really rough time facing Necro’s and DPS Guardians.
A class that excels in most situations.
Take mesmer for example, it’s strong in everything between 1v1 up to 5v5 and on top of this also has the addition of the portal which is the single strongest skill when it comes to outrotating your opponent. You can see that in EU cups when TCG can win a match vs oRNG despite losing every team fight.
Please explain, how can the team with the Mesmer be good in 1v1 and 5v5 but still lose every team fight?
I have encountered this in a few matches as well. It seems like a growing trend… and yes, it is very annoying.
Update, still trying to get in the groove of Ele. Is it normal to be hard countered by Necromancers?
I have a hard time against Thieves, DPS Guardians and Mesmers BUT I always lose 1 v 1 against Necromancers.
I think only a mesmer counters an ele in this meta.
How do you 1v1 a Necro successfully as Ele?
