And he’s right. This was not one guy’s decision. Nobody should be fired. But I really wish Anet would take from this and realize there are a good number of people who value WvW in this game and would love for it to be given a little more attention and care..

1. Players are mad at developer over something.
2. Developer remains silent.
3. Players start to attack each other instead.

I’ll wager it gets patched on regular patch day tomorrow. Hopefully along with the golems, too.

It is likely that Anet cannot even do a patch or end the event early as it will likely destroy golem inventories in the field worth thousands of gold. Imagine the uproar if they send out a patch and destroy a thousand golems in the process during the reset.

Hate to break it to ya, but Tuesdays traditionally see a patch regardless of events or not.

Those golems will poof whether there’s an emergency patch or not.

Well I guess it kind of defeats their push to liquidate prior dupes on the market — no need to buy any when you can magically make them happen with existing golems.

If so, don’t bother running around sending off spells — just sit back and patiently wait for the mesmer’s stealth to time out. 47 seconds is max, then mesmer stuck with long stealth cooldowns on spells.

Whenever I’m struggling to counter a specific class in WVW, I create a toon in that class and then play the heck out of it, until I understand the mechanics.

I’ve come to realize that no class is infallible. All can be countered.

It won’t deplete the supply.

It may get rid of long-existing dupes tho from previous patch bugs.

That is a common political tool for controlling the outcome of a conversation – make the conversation so toxic that anyone disagreeing will simply stay away. Decoy is 32 seconds with Illusionist’s Celerity, so you can cast it twice per 72 second cycle, and a third time with Mimic.

Prestige isn’t a utility and doesn’t need to be (mimic is to double-cast Decoy, not Prestige)

But you just said above the key was a 20-second prestige

There’s no mesmer perma stealth. You just have to be patient … Mesmer is my main btw

2. Mimic http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mimic .. reduces 10secs off a 90 second elite skill and has a 90 second recharge itself — Mass Invisibility: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mass_Invisibility, lasts 10 seconds.

Decoy: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Decoy 40 second recharge, lasts 4 seconds.

3. Did you magically lose 26 seconds while being invis for a whopping 14?

5. Yep, and guess what? During that cooldown, you’re visible!

6. You need to recheck your math. Best you can do is 40-something seconds and anyone patient enough to sweep for mesmers only has to count to 50 and wait for the invis to run out.

What I do, if I’m struggling trying to counter a certain class, is to make and actively play that class until I understand it. That way I don’t make gross generalizations

This is actually key to beating the fov defensively. Think about where the attackers place the ac.

I would outline exactly how to counter, only it would give the guys abusing it info to find another way around.

But it is possible, you just have to change how you have been traditionally placing siege and let go of old placements.

I would recommend any trying to figure out where they’d like most to visit the gw2wvw.net threads and read. While it does tend to attract trolls, it’s a pretty good indication of what you’ll see in map and how the community itself is, from my experience.

For those in NA wondering about languages etc., go to the MOS. Blue flags are international servers (meaning mostly English is spoken), however most EU nations have taught themselves english, unlike our lazy butts in NA, lol.

You might be better off going to your server’s home site and asking there — they will have a better idea of what is needed and what specs, etc … you can probably get generalized ideas from here, but it’s a massive topic, and best approached by actually plunging in and doing trial and error for builds until you find one that fits you.

Well, here is the thing. Camera changes allow peering over a wall and that is all that is needed to fire an AC. Although it sounds like it’s not relevant, there are spots even before the camera changes that siege could shoot things on the ground at some towers, like the opening over a gate.

With the camera changes, how do you know for sure they aren’t doing it within the game without a 3rd party application?

Lol, and this is the Anets biggest probelm – CAUSALITY (inability to see a bigger picture = bad decision making = bad developer). They introduced something that practically make zoom hacking obsolete .. bravo Anet, bravo :-)

No, I dont think, Anets problem surrounds the casual player. It is the ones that scream casual, at everyone and think they are better then others, due to the amount of time they spend playing a video game.

If Anet wants to allow people to expand thier field of view, everyone has access to this and therefore is not an issue if used.
