Everyone but a few delusional servers knows that seasons is bad for the WvW population. I’ve noticed that the WvW population drops every time we have one, not to mention the bandwagoning that goes on right before each season, which destroys servers in the process.

Funny… My server population grew during this season…

The only utility of snow leopard is to give classes that have no escape mechanic a “out of the jail card” at the cost of their elite skill.

I never been able to see if reveal actually do affect this skill or not, but I can tell you its just a nuissance at best even if it doesn’t.

It’s not related to the season. It’s related to the fact that their populations are Full and Very High.

Yeah, but I belive they did changed that for the seasons… All servers usually are listed as Very High (with the exception of the full ones), and cost 1800 gems oposed to the 2400 price that its up atm.

Balancing pop def a downside to gw2 wvw.

Server pride (or the lack of it), is pretty much what killed balance long ago.
As long Server Pride exists (or doesn’t), population balance can never occur.

For a long time, people here been saying that that the bottom of T8 was a dead spot and that help was needed… That spot been ocupied by Eredon Terrace for basically forever. We did called for help, and we did pointed out that if our server actually died (if everybody just got fed of our situation and quit) that this would affect the other…

You know what the community said? They said it was our problem… That it wasn’t their fault that ET couldn’t field people. No matter how much we pointed that the others would risk facing this situation, we been ignored…

Well, now ET can field people, and if you ask me what i think of that, i’m going to tell the same thing everyone else said when we were the ones on that situation: “Not our problem that AR can’t field people”.

So, sit tight, put a helmet, and try to enjoy the ride… It gonna be a rough one.

Someone always have to be on the bottom… Now it’s AR turn.

I don’t know if there’s any ET here, but they are generally worse, and I say that based in the fact that I myself suck and still get to spike some of them. We’ve won lots of battles against them being low on numbers even outnumbered by far. This ain’t a simple matter of “you’ll win next round”. We’ve been losing for 2 consecutive rounds because they simply have players in every map and take everything while there’s no one defending. People in AR don’t play WvW, and when they do, they see how pointless it is to do it alone and leave.

Not only that, but for 4 consecutive weeks we’ve been playing with a matchup where at least one server stomp the others, the only week this didn’t happen is this current week where kain and ET are competing against each other while we’re being their food.

Dude… Stay on that situation for months like ET have, and then you come talk to me… Other than that, you’re just crying with your belly full.

The devs aren’t going to play on the lowest ranked server or any of the server’s currently getting stomped and the reason is they don’t even play WvW. At least I hope they don’t because if they do and this is how things have been for the last two years I am disappointed.

Errr, ET had a dev on Nob from the Adopt a Dev… I don’t know if he stayed after Nob disbanded however.

And yes, we were the ones at the short end of the stick at the time. We kinda still are, we are only getting out of rank 24 this week after 10 weeks straight on that position.

You don’t really need to WvW for the chests since you only need to do 5 events which take 10 mins at best…

From skimming over the last pages I got the impression that a lot of them spent their time with strong servers (with a lot more of them on NA servers than EU) that don’t suffer from the coverage issues like many lower level tiers. How will they get “the whole picture” of the state of WvW? Wasn’t that the initial goal?

Problably because of the time they play… Since most devs play on PST, they moved to servers where there are people during that time…

I’m impressed however that ET received one, as the server pretty much dies after midnight EST.

The question is, email with rewards is always the best choice, lots of ppl participate but didn’t notice they should go claim that reward.

But they did received plenty of warnings… From the annoucement of the season to a mail in-game. People can’t blame Anet for not paying attention.

The only players i do have some sympathy are the ones that for some reason couldn’t participate for an entire week and have no chance of receiving the title reward.

Other than that, it’s just pure QQ.

Well, the 24/7 action underdog is problably TC, but it’s listed as full…

Your best bet problably is a T3 server that will go up to T2 (YB/CD/DB)

Or some high ranked EU server… I don’t know much about EU.

It is swiss style, that is correct. Certainly worlds might get matched up against one another more than once, but the nature of the matchmaking is going to minimize that, especially in conjunction with the 4 week timeframe.

Define what you call an active server… Medium pop servers are medium pop exactly because they have big coverage gaps, and in these gaps the action is usually pretty low.

On Eredon Terrace for exemple, we have groups running during NA EST primetime and some folks running during the day (late OCX/SEA/early EU), but after midnight EST, the activity drops significantly.

Looks like there is a influx of new blood on the daytime crew… But we still could use PST players.

This is the last week of tournament prices. Don’t miss that out.

Because there are far more warriors overall than rangers… With more people, it’s easier to find more baddies.

My understanding of swiss style is that winner goes up, loser goes down and second stays. That didn’t happen last week in “Tier 1 matchup”. BG was first and JQ was second, but JQ got relegated to the “Tier 2 matchup”. Unless I am wrong, it wasn’t swiss style at all.

Since they changed the points last gain (they are getting 2 this tournament oposed to 1 from last one) SoS getting 1st on week 1 and 3rd on week 2 gave them 7pts, upsetting the 6pts JQ made by comming 2nd twice. Also TC was 3rd on week 1 and 1st on week 2 which result in upsetting JQ with 7pts aswell.

Week 3 for gold was: BG(10)/TC(7)/SoS(7) and JQ(6)/FA(6)/Mag(4)

In the end, SoS will upset TC last week and tie with JQ on 2nd.

BG(20)/JQ(14)/SoS(14)/TC(12)/FA(12)/Mag(8)

Or even worse if TC is able to beat JQ for 2nd, SoS get 2nd alone and JQ/TC tie on 3rd with 13pts each.

I’m not sure what the going price on Soldier’s gear is because, like I said, I don’t use PVT but other quality PVT gear (i.e. Sentinel) is pretty pricey (at least the last time I checked which was about probably a month ago) especially compared to other gear. Now if you’re a rich and wealthy player it’s all trivial but as far as gear goes, yes PVT can be pricey.

Sentinel (VTP) is horrendously expensive because the only way to aquire them is buying with guild commendations… Soldiers is cheaper because you can just buy soldiers gear with alternative currencies like Karma or Badges+Gold.

42k karma per piece, thats 504k karma to fill out all 6 slots, accessories, rings, amulet and backpiece. Also Karma is used for Shards, which are used for making Ascended gear and thus isn’t useless “for anything else”. Lets keep the facts straight.

The rating you gain karma is much higher than the rating you spend it… I still have millions of karma along with 8 fully equipped (By that I mean at least exotic) toons being 2 of them with ascended gear… Unless all you do on WvW is run around looking for players to gank, karma won’t be a problem.

Let’s face reality… This thread is over a year old. Anet didn’t removed these buffs back then, so I’m assuming they don’t think they are a problem. Why would they remove them now if WvW is basically the same as a year ago?

I have almost 5k hours of gameplay and I’m in the same boat as Azyume on that. I’ve seen so few people playing with these boosters that I often forget that I have about 60 of these…

The armor booster, strength booster, speed booster, regeneration booster AND swim speed booster all work in WvW currently. Some of them have even been included into the “WvW support pack” on the gem store(Huge Ripoff btw). The description of these boosters say that they do not work in PvP, however some of you have the misconception that WvW is PvP. PvP =/= (that is a “Does Not Equal”sign, for those that do not habla) WvW although WvW can be considered to be open map PvP of a sort.
Yes. boosters need to be disabled in WvW. We already have food/sharpening stones/tuning crystals/maintenance oils/applied fortitude/applied strength. Do we really need boosters too?

With so much imbalance does it really make a difference?

PVT tends to be somewhat pricey for the obvious reasons that it’s the “go-to” WvW gear but yes if you have the moneys, get some solid PVT gear.

P.S. I don’t run PVT… I run P/T/HP or T/HP/CD

You can buy PVT gear for 42k Karma from the temples in Orr… And since Karma isn’t useful for anything else, it’s a good trade.

Also, if people were leveling on EotM or WvW, they are likely to have a bunch of badges, which they can use to buy PVT gear cheaper…

The only issue is that you cannot remove runes from both of these, so you shouldn’t put expensive runes on it.

1) Roaming isn’t bad except when we’re up against servers like SF or SoR who really have nothing to offer roaming-wise.

2) I don’t think anyone here cares anymore about how ET is ranked… Many people would welcome not being red every-single-time but working overtime just to go up on ranks isn’t going to happen. If we move up ranks it will happen naturaly (or not happen at all).

3) ET pretty much dies after midnight EST, so you will find yourself at the time when everything start to fall apart because there is no one to watch over it. At 2-3am you might be the only ET player at a map that isn’t ET BL.
