I don’t buy this last line… Even more when some of these groups start running away as soon as they hit a defended objective.
Sorry that the truth hurts, EOTM == karma train/zerg, they spend most of their time PvD, which is a form of PvE, it surely aint PvP (or WvW)…
Most servers do a good deal PvDoor (for the almighty “peepeetee”) in regular WvW… How is this different from EotM?
Because on alot of servers, WvW doesn’t need PvE players. It needs Queues to be free from PvE players who are there to farm achievements and lose points for their server rather than play WvW.

Bronze league always been the one that never was decided on week 1. Since everyone leave Bronze servers, the population shifts are big.
Season 1 only got decided on week 4 when the Hordes of Denravi faced CoSA Sorrow’s Furnace for the tie breaker… Darkhaven was even able to beat Sorrow’s Furnace for 2nd on the last week.
Season 2 we saw Ehmry Bay overcome Anvil Rock on the final weeks of the tournament for winning matchups that they had lost prior (Against Kaineng and Eredon Terrace). And Darkhaven who was expected to be 2nd, finished as 5th.
I’m still expecting to see how the population shifts will afect T6 and T7, since there is no lockout on this tournament… I even expecting that some shiny hunters come down to those tiers and break the balance.
But one thing is sure: Eredon Terrace will be 9th for the 3rd time.
We even, every now and then, queue a single map.
I haven’t seen a queue on Eredon Terrace since season 2.
A small roaming group should have zero problem killing or send a thief fleeing inside such a small circle…. I take it we are talking about thief, right?
More like about a warrior… They usually are able to stand on the circle for more time than the other classes.
The reveal abilites do have a cooldown…
If you can’t kill a single player in the circle, you don’t deserve that capture… It would be worse if we still had warriors with banner ress the lord (thank you Anet for removing that broken feature) which would buy much more time than simply trying to survive inside the circle.
Like not putting this matchup straight were going to change the winner of the league, right? Blackgate just didn’t won last season due the 2v1 that happened for the whole tournament.
I dared to bet that Jade Quarry would win this one, but I really understimated how stacked Blackgate really is…
Golems, like flame rams need to be in melee, making them very vulnerable to siege disablers, and even 20 secs might be a bit too much.
Ever heard of Omega Golems and their 1500 attack range?

Siege disablers can’t disable Devourers from Badlands workshop…
If your server has absolutely no chance at winning the season, that goal is kinda iffy..

iam wvw player and… guys, what is achievment? rly dont get me wrong but wvw players rly dont care about some achievments. When we have a season, we rly dont want any achiev-hunters here to interupt our matchup and make us lose. Do pvers like when , for example, wvw players come to pve and finnish all group events they see so they interupt thier “organized” train on map.. its same.. so for me.. thx anet for no pvers in wvw this season.. its getting better

You know that the only people actually defending the 5 achievments here are the people that play on the top stacked server so they don’t have to face queues to get in their WvW… Well, these queues wouldn’t exist if these people (youself included, mr. SFR) didn’t stacked in a few servers.
I’m pretty sure all server under T4 (and maybe even T3), have room for PvE’rs to take part of wvw without anyone complaining (havent seen a single complaint about queues that didn’t came from T1-T2). And making that PvE’rs only need to log in wvw for 5 minutes then leave, is hurting these servers that actually need more people to compete.
Why do so many of the complainers about this not realize than the siege disabler means they don’t get to your lord in the first place?!
Now any class can stop a siege for arguably longer than the lord lasts while standing in the middle of a zerg – stop looking at the lord’s room and start playing with the more flexible tool you’ve been given.
And on the opposite side of that fence the offender can get in that much quicker because they disable your defensive siege. I know personally first-hand because this has happened to me!
And why you didn’t disabled their siege when you had your disabled? Stalemate…
I think it’s great. Pve-people get in, get to try WvW, and they don’t bother us people playing WvW.
Of course, it would be great to get some more achievement points out of the WvW tournament. But, that need to be implemented in a way that the PvE-crowd don’t “have” to do them.
Why? Did the PvE’rs touched you in a bad spot?
Many servers would be happy to embrace the “filthy PvE scrubs” you top stacked servers hate so much… Giving them incentive to at least participate on the match is already a good start. But making it only 5 events totally broke this…
You already are competing, just in a lower tier. What’s so bad about that?
Coverage. If it wasn’t for the timezone gap, we wouldn’t be in tier 8.

This is inspired mostly by Pat Cavit on a hopelessly outmatched server, but I hope some or a lot of these devs will write a post or two about their experiences.
We on T8 still waiting to see if we will receive a visit… So far the one that went lowest was Paul Ella who will be on Darkhaven on T6 (Say Hi to Arius for me).
I signed up with Starfleet Dental [SFD] on Maguuma, I hear they’re very professional.
I hope they still do firework zergs like they did on my stay on Maguuma. I LMAO when I was part of this one.
After all, other revive skills from other professions/classes could never revive lords and all that, what makes warriors so overpoweringly special?
Actually any skill that could rise a downed player would work on NPCs with the except of mesmer’s Illusion of Life. Let’s no be unfair on that saying that only warriors could do it…
Banners were more common simply because warriors can become immune to everything and drop the banner. Unlike the other classes…

I see a bunch of people saying that the Seasons will bring queues to their servers… I haven’t seen a queue since I left Blackage in January 2013.

What will we have now:
Imune warrior goes in circle and contest it for ~10 ses and then dies. Next warrior goes in and contest structure for next ~10 sec and so on and so on… Ally’s blob arrive and we have epic fight.Can you contest while invulnerable?
I belive Endure Pain does not prevent contesting, since it’s not total invulnerability… But you can pop all 3 stances and be immune to everything without the penality of a guardian with renewed focus, for exemple, would have.
Either way, I think we can safely crown the likely winners in 7 days.
My money on Jade Quarry, Yak’s Bend and Gate of Madness…
Hopefully never again – totally screwed up season 2.

On topic: Mesmers, Engineers, Rangers all have access to stealth… The last two not as much, but Mesmers are comparable to Thief in that regard.
About thief being able to be invisible all the time…
If it’s one of those D/D thieves that count to 4 and press 5, you can pretty much prevent him of doing so by following the same pattern (Count to 4, dodge roll), preventing the CnD from hitting (and stealthing) and giving you an opening to attack.
If it’s the D/P “521521521”, you can knock him out of the blinding powder before he goes invisible.
If you have a strong AoE, you can nuke a thief that try to stealth away on shadow refuge. If you have an AoE knockback (like mesmer GS 5) you can even push him out of the refuge, making his cd go wasted.
You can even put a godkitten stealth trap on ground and make the poor sod revealed for 30s.
There are so many way to counter a thief that it’s nothing more than a nuissance these days dealing with them… If you’re seeing a thief defeating 4-5 “experienced players”, I supose these players aren’t as experienced as you claim. Yes, a thief can easily destroy 4-5 scrubs, but not experienced players.

Not really… You’re always more likely to stay in the tier you are unless your rating dropped to a different tier.
Ok, here is a suggestion to try help the people crying about the removal of banner ress:
Many NPCs on PvE, starting from the Nightmare Tower Living Story, had the downed status (or fight to survive) like the players do. You had to either dps down the downed npc or finishing him, just like we do with players. Why don’t Anet add this downed status to all Lords on WvW (Guild Claimers only, not guards)? It’s a mechanic that is already in the game, so I’m not suggesting you to create anything new.
Then, since the Banner (and all other ress skills) are meant to get up allied units on downed state, you can save the lord if he still downed. Once he is finished/dps’ed to death, it’s over, pretty much like it happen to players.

I ran the tests… The golem is hitting really hard both in and out of WvW… Its also dealing FULL DAMAGE to gates.
However, I don’t think it has somenthing to do with golem mastery, since it’s affecting PvE too…
Just to add up on the scepter auto attack thing: Necros too use to 11111111 people to death with scepter. The difference is that bleed doesn’t hurt as much as torment.
just to confirm, theres no internal cooldown on the outgoing vulnerability right?
The tooltip says nothing else on the vulnerability line… I belive there is a 1s icd too as I saw a enemy npc get 3 vulnerability stacks before the aura faded.
this cant be true or is buggy – cause yesterday i saw this grafikeffect around me from light aura while “running” with a zerg or jsut stand around

I get light aura from using leap finishers over light fields (Mostly from using Guardian GS 4 and then 3). It looks like the screenshot below.
The Tooltip of the buff doesn’t apear on screenshots but it says:
When struck, you gain 2 seconds of retaliation. (Cooldown: 1s)
When struck, you apply 8 seconds of vulnerability.
The Light Aura itself seens to last 5 seconds.
With that in mind, we [Nob] are still very short on warriors.
It’s ironic that we need the class that most guilds are already turning down because they have too many. Come join us, and bring your hammers…
Light Auras grant 2s of retaliation when you are struck, with a 1s icd… Prior that, you would get 5s retaliation from the same finish anyway, so I don’t see how this change affected the damage you’re taking back.

We have some new blood flowing… Everyone is hoping high for the season.
The auto attack is 2 seconds of torment on first, and 3s on 2nd attack. Even with 100% extra torment duration that’s not a total destroyer, and even trying to land that many auto attacks successively to stack high torment would leave you completely open to bursts… I’d laugh if any mes tried to auto attack me to death.
Weak buff is weak, any mes that auto attacks enough to stack significant torment is bad to start with, otherwise it’s just 1-3 stacks here and there.
You fail to take into account that most will equip a superior sigil of torment and the other skills on mesmer scepter and what they do. The potential is torment stack is more than 1-3. I can stack 8.
And you’re also forgetting that mesmer clones also applies conditions, and these conditions deal full damage (unlike their power attacks which are negligible). But toment isn’t the only condi we’ll have to deal with, as scepter can apply confusion, torch applies burn and their other set of weapons will most likely be staff which also applies burn and bleed.
ACs don’t require the same line of sight as most sieges do… You can hit through gates and walls as long you can click to shoot.
The changes to rangers has brought the trolls out in droves. First it was the ability to still hit a cloaked target, 4 sec reveal now is 6 secs and the speed increase on LB. Really? If you don’t want ppl to use cloak, take it out of the game. Don’t make it a survivability tool. As for me, this is a game breaker. Time to move on.
You are complaining that the worst class in the game got a little edge against thieves?
Actually this always happened… The exp is based on how long the person been alive. If you just keep killing the same person over and over, you won’t get anything.
Loot drops ALWAYS been kittenty regardless…
