PvP would be better, and ridiculous metas such as this one wouldn’t go through. Bring us back to the previous meta, d/d ele meta was nothing compared this cancer.
I made it to Diamond Tier 5 solo qing but as of late I have been duo queueing just to get it over with and get legendary.
There are 4 builds I switch between depending on the enemy team. I was planning on make a forum post explaining it once I hit legendary but I guess I can tell you what I ran.
If two eles are on the other team, I have a power build to counter them.
If two dh are on the other team I use curses condi.
If two mesmers are on the other team I have soldier rez bot build if I dont have any bunks on my team, or I run curses condi again.
If there isn’t double of any of those classes I run the regular carrion frostfire build or a celestial build. To find those builds go to twitch.tv/noscoc
But yes, WoC is lackluster because corrupt boon is instant and does more for the condi necro than WoC does. Why you would ever slot WoC for competitive play? I do not know.
I use WoC in addition to Corrupt Boon. Also, I use Blood Magic, so in this case WoC primarily serves a defensive purpose rather than just corrupting boons. More specifically, not only does WoC have the potential to corrupt more boons than CB (even on single targets), but it also gives aoe protection and it generates up to 30% life force and ~5k hp. Bottom line: Blood Magic makes WoC one of the best skills to have in competitive play.
Competitive play? I’m sorry I haven’t seen well of corruption used in competitive play since the day nos was forced to use power necro.
Well of corruption is good for power builds. Sadly why play a power reaper when you can do so much more on a power revenant. Slotting corrupt boon on a build that uses blood magic is just so so so terrible.
I also think spiteful spirit is useless compared to signets.

Whats your point then? He should take close to death instead of spiteful spirit since he’s using a power build. The cooldown on spiteful spirit needs to line up directly with reaper shroud for it to even be considered in a power build imo, and needs to deal more damage.
When in doubt get your signets out.
Placing both wells down in your rotation is stupid unless it is a downed body. No competent player will sit in your wells for the full duration, its better to stagger them. I also think spiteful spirit is useless compared to signets.
1) chrono bunker – remove the build, mesmers should never be bunkers, they should be a DPS roaming class like thief as they have been for 3 years, they have way too much survive through invuln and boons namely stab and continuum rift the rez potential is too much there is just no place for them as bunkers IN MY OPINION
2) I would have elementalists be the ultimate duelist like last meta than have a trait that makes them invincible
3) reduce the damage unrelenting assualt, or sword auto attacks, or surge of mist, or take away some evade skills from Revenant, condi rev is fine and be beaten, power rev is a lot more sustainable

I’ve been crafting different power builds lately for spvp to try and find a good one and I thought that maybe I could combo healing with well of blood to receive decent healing and cleanse conditions but when you soul spiral in well of blood, it triggers cleansing bolts but does not remove conditions from you.
This would make well of blood really good in my opinion, because you could effectively cleanse 12 condis with soul spiral + wob.
When using well of blood with soul spiral on reaper, the cleansing bolts do not cleanse conditions. I tried this by applying a 7 second poison to myself through my corruption skills and when I whirled in the light field cleansing bolts did not cleanse conditions.

You wouldn’t have two chronobunks on each point with a portal ensuring everyones survival. It’s just ridiculous, if you can’t see this problem then you’re part of the problem.

Bunkering shouldn’t be available through invulnerability, that includes evades.
There is no counterplay to invulnerability, especially with such abundant alacrity application.
A diamond skin ele, or a bunker gaurd (rip) are what bunker should be. There is counterplay.

Anet needs serious help. Is it the employees? Do they need to fire someone? Do they even have the right vision for PvP? They should have weekly PvP meetings and should release the notes of that meeting every week because this is just getting kittenING ABSURD FIX YOUR kittenING GAME.

Minstrel amulet was bad for the game, that has no relevance to abjured trying a bunker comp. It’s not even the amulet people are complaining about, its the chrono bunker which is based around evades which is stupid because evades are invulnerbailities. A bunker based around blocks and other mechanics that are NOT invuln is a great idea, such as bunker gaurd or ele.
You’re just being super salty about minstrel amulet being gone because chaith had something to do with it. Seriously don’t post these threads, they are going to take up the time of devs who can be reading something that’s actually progressive.

But there needs to be a way to avoid the attack. The suggestions saying to double dodge, hug a wall or interrupt the 3/4s cast time is so unrealistic. Anyways if you’re a revenant you’re using UA from ranged so interrupting it is unlikely.
Zojoel, king of garbage necros, enlightening the community with his wisdom. And then there is booms on his crusade to nerf revenant based on changing his team comp. Maybe condi reaper and DH need buffs. They’re clearly under-performing compared to revenant.

There were a few reasons for keeping players in HotM when queued:
- It forces new players to recognize they have completely different builds in PvP maps.
- You won’t miss the match accept because of load screens and get dishonor.
- We can make a better user experience (match accept and map voting) without having to worry about interrupting whatever a player might be doing elsewhere.
In order to allow queuing from outside HotM, we would need to change these things.
- We would need tech to remove players temporarily from queue during load screens.
- Create better tutorials or gating for new players so they don’t hop into PvP unprepared.
- Revisit the way the match flow UI works.
Make the accept timer a minute long.
Why can’t we accept the match in PvE so we cut entering hotm entirely?

You don’t need to CC the Rev? Reaper is also easy and effective, all you have to do is land the HYDROMANCY PROC (specially during glint where the Rev can’t cleanse the Chill) AFTER you bait out evades (which is already easy) and maybe land Plague Signet while they’re blocking assuming that you have any idea how to bait out cool downs. And if a Revenant burns energy on shiro dodge to cleanse the chills (which they have to because Reaper perma-chill is braindead op) then congrats you made them waste energy and they will have to go glint to refill that energy (Glint gets destroyed by condis).
You CANNOT be complaining about Rev when you are a Reaper, END OF STORY. If you are complaining about Revenant on Reaper then you either have no clue how to rotate OR you literally cannot land hydromancy (hell you even have passive chills, and the mark isn’t hard to land either) or plague signet to save your life.
Also, you don’t need to be 1v1ning Revenants in a team setting, you can get a Druid or Tempest to hold point vs. a Rev and then you GANK/plus that Rev.
Like I know Rev is braindead and effective as a class but so are other classes that isn’t a Thief and a Warrior you know?

Yeah Revenant is OP and takes no skill, but so does Signet Reaper? And Condis > Rev since most revs won’t really use Lyssa or range with hammer anyways.
You’re just bad at landing hydromancy procs and signet tbh on Necro considering you’re one of the most “downstate” oriented Necros in the game. Like killing people on Reaper isn’t even hard, you just land your hydromancy procs and eventually the Plague Signet which is easy to land because people are inclined to dodge marks anyways so baiting dodges before you Plague Signet isn’t hard (Doesn’t help that they can’t tell which the chill mark is and which the bleed mark is).
Like Necro has one of the easiest dodge baits in the game AND they have kittened unblockables too, ofc you counter-pressure to survive but more-so positioning.

Surge from the mist will hit you like a truck, knocks you back repeatedly, and is an evade. Do you guys just give out evades now without putting any thought into it? Balance this kittening class so its not broken anymore God kitten it.

The difference is that Chill only stacks to 5 or 6 seconds so you need to keep re-applying it. So technically spamming chill is actually not a great idea, unless you cover it with a bunch of other condis.
Range is fine, the auto attack needs a rework so we can actually apply decent damage with it
The amount of damage this skill does for being an evade is ridiculous and the damage needs to be nerfed if it is still going to be an evade.
Vault on Daredevil is way too similar to Bounding Dodger. Can we make these two animations look more different than each other so that I don’t end up wasting my dodges on the Daredevils dodges?

I most certainly will not take blighters boon over deathly chill EVER. KEEP TELLING YOURSELF YOU MADE THEM EQUAL, NOPE, ONE IS STILL BETTER THAN THE OTHER. kitten.
To provide some context on this change:
We felt that Blighter’s Boon was providing too much survivability, especially with the amount of boon output that Heralds and Tempests can provide. (This is especially true in WvW and large PvE Zergs). I did like the interaction this trait had with your allies, but boon application from allies is too broad of a category for us to reasonably balance in all modes of the game.
We considered a lot of other possibilities for this skill including adding an ICD, limiting the procs to specific boons, limiting the number of procs from allies, but the majority of these types of fixes ended up taking agency and control away from the reaper which we felt wasn’t optimal.
Ultimately we felt this change helped to make the trait more specific to some builds rather than the best trait in all situations.
EDIT: It seems like there is some confusion about the reasons behind the change. Even though I use PvE and WvW as an example, we think it’s providing too much in all areas of the game, PvP included.

The hidden OP class? That sounds like a really good way to fool stupid people into thinking necro is OP. Well played.
However, did you play necro pre June 23rd patch? Yeah there was too much cleansing going on, plus damage that kicked condi necro to the curb and power necro that was far from meta was the only option.
Fast forward to the cele signet necro, now necros have a viable build that can be beaten if played smartly, and is certainly not a super easy but medium tier’d difficulty build. Cele signet also has not ports, stealth, blocks, blinds etc so locking down a necro is a lot easier than say an ele, a guardian, a warrior….basically any class. The necromancer is a good 1v1 class, okay that is what it excels at if played correctly.
Fast forward to reaper. Reaper has more life force generation and is generally tanky than base necro because it has now become a melee orientated class. It seems as if a warrior merged with a necro. Why do you think warriors build for invulnerability? Because they can’t face tank everything if they are a squishy melee class. The same reason as to way guardians have access to lots of blocks and blinds and even one invuln. It’s the way the class was designed.
As for chill damage well, Reapers need to sacrifice one of their best sustain traits to take chill deals damage, so it becomes generally less tanky. In the last beta weekend chill damage was actually very weak, so they may have buffed it, but if all you’re going to say is “nerf PLZ nerf” without any numbers or feedback then you best not mention it in the first place because it won’t get you anywhere.
You must have been absent for the past 3 years if you think necro never receives any nerfs.
TLDR; necro/reaper is fine, l2p issue
