I need some advices. I just made a new guardian, asura female. She’s using the T3 cultural armor with Abyss and Frost dyes, but I wanna use a makeover to change the hairstyle and a few other things. Lilith I need your help!

Yeah we don’t recruit main warrior anymore, because almost everyone in the guild can play warrior quite decently (and to be honest it’s so easy to play, you have so much room for mistakes compared to other classes). Your best choice would be Guardian or Thief, since Mesmer is not that great anymore in speedruns (except for portal).

A Mesmer is good for every places where you can use portal to save time so basically for CM: p2/3 and story, but for daily run, only for p3.

Due to the high (not) interest in “How To Mesmer Properly” we have released a new very special edition describing how to use timewarp properly. Below, you will find a few steps that will turn you into a better mesmer than Jerem is, I swear, he should read this post so he can improve his gameplay and take it to a brand new level.

Step 1: Find an epic enemy that either you crush, or it crushes you;

Step 2: Go to Options -> Controls and set new skill keys for your utilities and elite skill;

Step 3: Let the enemy believe that it crushes you and execute (probably quite unintentionally) the following two things:

- Press a random newly assigned button;
– Press another newly assigned button;

Step 4: Enjoy your extremely epic and well placed timewarp and if any of the people on your party dare to say something, then just call them scrubs because they can’t acknowledge how high-level is your gameplay as a mesmer.

Well you didn’t have luck I guess, anyway the best thing you can do to avoid that is start the dungeon yourself and make your own LFG (this fills quite fast normally). Also you should report them. You can also join to kick when they’re selling but I would personally avoid doing that.

Yeah we actually don’t recruit warriors anymore since we have plenty of them already. For EU your best bet for servers would be Seafarer’s Rest or Desolation. But we don’t have any server requirement (the majority of us are from SFR though)

I’d say take a torch as well for the portal harpy skip. And take PU (1s more stealth per stealth skill is nice). I’d take decoy / portal / feedback / mass invis for that

Mesmer have access to block with Sword offhand and with Blade Training, you’re able to block every single shadowstep attack from Mai (but the best is to reflect it with Temporal Curtain / Feedback / Warden, assuming you have Warden’s Feedback, Inspiration VIII)

Well you should try some Arah anyone welcome, I like to do that sometimes with a friend with unwanted classes (ranger / necro). It’s so fun to see pugs fails at every single skip I wonder what they’re thinking when they see ranger and necro carrying them

But yeah kicking people at the end of a dungeon is just lame…..

I’ve seen your solo, which is fabulous, but you were saying you handle all projectiles in melee in the reply above, and so I’m curious how that works out in practice, as it’s very different from how I’ve always played against her. If there’s a better way, I always want to do it that way, ofc

Well you can reflect pretty much every shadowstep attack (if the warden don’t bug out and there’s no AoE where Mai Trin is (and if your party is quick enough, you don’t need to use the wardens). Guardian can save an aegis for the group in case you don’t have reflects up.

You can basically reflect 3 shadowstep in a row without Wardens with Curtain → Feedback → Curtain. With Warden, you should have perma reflect, but since it’s not that reliable, you should probably count on another team member after the 3rd reflect for an Aegis / Wall / Swirling Winds or even Magnetic Aura if you have an Aura share Ele (but I seriously hope you don’t).

Also as a mesmer you can portal everyone to a safe spot for the cannon phase (I usually go for the portal after one of the shadowstep attack when Mai have less than 4 stacks and is close to the canon phase.

As I said, Iris, there was no mesmer in CoF story, I was only here for CoF P3, but sadly I didn’t record it.

Abe might have it on his past broadcasts, but it wasn’t that great to be fair, I failed hard at lupicus xD (guess it was 12min or so). I was the guardian for that arah p2.

Joined a pug yesterday on my ranger for arah specifying “p2 experienced zerker only, no noobs”. They asked me to come mesmer, I ping Whirling Defense and try to tell them that ranger’s reflect is almost as good as mesmer’s reflect —> got kicked

5min later, I joined a “p2 lupi melee” run, and it was just flawless. We even finished the path before that pug group that kicked me

They had a chance to be carried by a ranger but didn’t take it, too bad for them

For soloing with elementalist, I’d go with this setup

If you take an energy sigil, you could go 6/6/2/0/0 I suppose. Then I think Sigil of Battle should be a good sigil for soloing content (Strength + Battle??).

Also for the spider paralyzes you, you could use Obsidian Flesh
