No.
An Error Prevented Saving:

Yeah, numbers aren’t final.
(6): +20% chill duration; when you’re struck below 20% health remove all conditions and become a block of ice for 5 seconds. (Cooldown: 90s)
All it needs
From the beta feedback it seems like celestial revs have very little damage, even compared to other classes in celestial gear. Though it could be due to the lack of a power trait line.
Plus we haven’t got access to everything yet, there are some legends we still yet to see, as well as the remaining weapons and specialization, and the numbers aren’t final either.
There is, it’s called harassment.
Got a set of Zerker, Celestial & gear with selectable stats ready for day 1.
Yeah it’s not really a problem, I’ve already made 6 of the weapons so far, and each time i went to Dry top to farm the remaining 100 or so i needed, just dawned on as being a bit odd is all.
Why is it that this doesn’t give enough geodes in one completion to buy the recipe for the ambrite fossil you’ve purchased? It requires going to Dry top and farming for a bit or re-enabling the track to re-complete a few tiers again.
It’s lag, it’s because the player became desynced with the server, happens all the time in PvE places.
Have to agree, i love that i can return to Guild wars 2 after an incredibly long break and be not as far behind as i would be in any other MMO, all there is to catch up on is new content, builds & strategies in any new content/dungeons.
No one said thieves were weak though.. they’re very strong at taking out certain classes.
Plus this doesn’t show much, for all we know the other team could’ve just been pure dog kittene.
They don’t want you to be able to buy these features without giving the company money.
This is such a flawed argument i see time and again for getting things in gemstore, if you have gems you are giving ANet money, just not necessarily your own money(okay there is the 400gems for every 10k AP you get, but AFAIK that is the ONLY way the game generate free gems, so that is a minuscule amount in the big scheme for things), but the gem exchange works as a player trade post for gems only, if noone sells gems, then there would eventually be no gems to buy there either. That said i still do doubt you will able to buy the specs separately, if you lucky MAYBE there will be a pack with all elite specs but no other HoT content, but most likely the best you can hope for is the whole expansion for gems, and likely not from day 1 if anything like it goes this way
Player A buys gems and sells them to Player B
Player B bought the gems from Player A with gold
Player B uses the gems to buy a specializationPlayer B provided Anet with no income.
Player A provided Anet with income. You realize this doesn’t discount what he was saying, right?
Player A bought gems, sold them to B, who use the gems to get a specialization. One purchase of gems, one specialization unlocked. Player A provided Anet with income, but didn’t get anything from them. He got something from Player B instead.
It would be the same if A bought gems, used them to buy a specialization, and then could somehow sell the specialization to B for gold. One purchase of gems, one sale of a specialization.
This is not me advocating for any part of HoT to be sold for gems. I couldn’t care less about that. But trading gold to get gems doesn’t mean you are buying things for Anet and they aren’t getting paid. Those gems had to get paid for somewhere.
You picked at a specific part of what i wrote and didn’t read the rest which coincides with my example.

This is overcome by having the specializations only available if you purchase the expansion as the expansion will not be available for gems, only hard cash.
If the specializations do pop up in the gem store as a “purchase if you want but don’t want HoT feature” they will not be sold for gems, i can guarantee you that, they’ll be sold for cash as they’re a huge feature that alters gameplay, no other gem store item does.
WvW is still required in order to make a legendary.
No, EotM is
But you won’t get my point anyway.
No i get your point, I just don’t understand the reasoning for it.
Why can’t you utilize an hour a week doing dungeons to get the gold required to purchase the food you desire?
We just got rid of wvw map completion because PvE players couldn’t be bothered to play wvw, so sorry but I see your argument as invalid. Need more reasoning?
What does that have to do with anything? You’re now comparing map completion to food.
you have no excuse, the way the game is designed is to encourage you to play other aspects of the game, just want to WvW but still want food but refuse to do anything else? Then buy gems and convert it to gold.
Try to remember what you wrote so you won’t get all confused when I use your arguments =)
Yes, and?
WvW is still required in order to make a legendary.
An hour a day to get enough gold to buy the food you need for a week isn’t hard, you have no excuse, the way the game is designed is to encourage you to play other aspects of the game, just want to WvW but still want food but refuse to do anything else? Then buy gems and convert it to gold.
I’d love to hear your reasoning behind why my suggestion of doing dungeons for a bit of gold every now and then would devalue the food you use.

It’d kill the value of food and the chef tradeskill.
Just go run a few dungeon paths each day.. You can get a guaranteed 10 gold from CoF p1 & 2 and AC 1 to 3, these paths aren’t hard or long to do, then just use the tokens to either buy the skins you haven’t got if you’re interested in that, or buy focuses and salvage them for a chance at even more gold.
Yeah, that makes sense for people who want to play wvw “just play PvE” perfect solution!
Edit: That would kill the value of food as well, btw. As the ones using food are wvw players.

Horrible editing, why have you got 2 music tracks playing at the same time? Also just boring for me. I don’t enjoy watching duel videos, they’re not fun to watch, the games not balanced for it, it never boils down to skill vs skill, it’s always class/build vs class/build, which one is superior over the other, were the fights actually on an equal footing (You not starting with 100% life force at the start of a fight) you wouldn’t have won most of those fights.
Also, bit more variation instead of Attack on titan soundtrack next time maybe, alsooo.. Mute your bloody Guild wars 2 audio.
Duel is not a game mode , duel has no rules , people make them . There is nothing official . In tpvp when you will meet that necro with full life force earned from previous kill you will not ask him to drain it .
You said it yourself, “from previous kill” what about the other person? Where are his bonuses from the previous fight? I thought the dueling community wanted fights to be as fair as possible, hence why they ‘frown upon’ certain elites being used?
You shouldn’t really be comparing TPvP to duels in WvW, TPvP is designed around teamplay and coordination with your teammates, not running around dueling everyone.
The game is not balanced around dueling, it never will be, and this is why. The game is designed around teamwork.
(edited by JoshuaRAWR.4653)
If i’m to fight something, i want the person I’m playing against to have to think about what they’re doing.
The way the games designed, this is actually discouraged, you’re rewarded more for just hitting whatevers off cooldown and letting procs and sigils do the rest.
And er.. if we’re not to blame Anet, who do you expect us to blame? They are the ones who made the game the way it is..

You guys need to chill out. Yup, I went there.
Actually, I think that will be my point. Chill keeps Ele’s in check. Like someone else mentioned, it’s a counter play that can also be countered. I hate to say it but: Working as intended. I’m not sure why you’re crying. You can swap attunements and have access to tons of skills, but guess what? It can also be your downfall.
I’m the one who pointed out it’s a counter-play that can be countered.
Thank you very much
No one said it wasn’t a counter, we’re merely stating that it’s too strong of one.
Thief and Guardian have the same health point as Ele.
You’re welcomed.Oh, I hope you don’t bring armor difference into this, becaue Ele are bunkier than both of these classes in PVP.
Oh dear, here we go again..
Right:
Thief can decide what fights he engages in with his plethora of escape mechanics and stealths, thief can also flat out avoid damage entirely with the amount of evades and blinds it has, ele takes the hits and mitigates it with Water attunement and
Cantrips.
Guardians also flat out negate the damage with the amount of blinds and blocks they have access too.
Both classes you mentioned can avoid the damage entirely. An elementalist has to take it, meaning that poison thrown into the mix is also more effective against them than the other 2 classes because they have to heal back what they take, they don’t avoid the damage entirely.
You’re also comparing 3 classes against each other that are all played completely differently.
What does chill do to a thief? Nothing, slow him down a bit, doesn’t affect his abilities nearly as much as any other class.
What does chill do to a guardian? Not much, standard stuff, as it should.
What does chill to do an Elementalist? Locks him out of his attunements for an extended period of time which is the classes main mechanic. As i’ve already stated, an Elementalist that is stuck in the same attunement for too long, is a dead elementalist, if they can’t or won’t swap attunements, they are severely hindered and at a huge disadvantage. This is why chill is stronger on the Elementalist than it is any other class.
I’m not going to be posting in this thread anymore, I’ll read through any new posts, but I’m done now, trying to debate with you is just foolish, you can’t bring any evidence to the table and you just resort to insults and petty remarks.
I do however still stand by what i originally said and i have a quick question before i drop out of this thread entirely.
First, i still believe that Elementalist is barely in the meta anymore, Shoutbow outperforms it in the teamplay environment and bunkering on a point that the D/D cele ele once claimed.
Second, I am curious as to what your main class and build is in SPvP toxsa, i assume ranger based on previous comments, if this is the case, i have a question.
You state you’re completely prevented from doing anything as soon as anyone drops reflects into the mix, to which i have to ask.. why don’t you just swap weapons?
(edited by JoshuaRAWR.4653)
I’m not fussed with the stats being removed from traits, I don’t even think they should compensate us and apply those lost stats to amulets, just leave them out.
There’ll be less of a power creep, less power precision and ferocity going around, meaning less damage over-all, I’m fine with that.
Honestly more worried about the new burning and poison that direct damage.
Eh, we’ll have to see how it plays out, I’m hoping that the damage overall will be the same. It could go either way though and be either really bad or too strong, can’t imagine it being just right the first time round, as these sorts of scenarios rarely happen.
You guys need to chill out. Yup, I went there.

Well played on the pun, not sure if I should be rewarding you for it though.
I agree, it’s a counterplay, especially when you get a chill out on an ele after he leaves water attunement, but it’s too strong for a condition and needs toning down just based on how much it effects ele’s alone, they’re already the lowest base health class in the game and the damage they dish out is balanced around having those 20 weapon skills.
Chill is in fact too strong/op condition.
Cripple gives you less 50% speed.
Chill gives you less 66% speed (more powrfull than cripple) AND 66% cooldown increase.
This could be balanced if Chill didn´t affect speed or didn´t afect cooldowns. The 2 are too much. Maybe if the numbers were adjusted it would be balanced, like 20% less speed and 66% cooldown increase or 66% less speed and 20% cooldown increase. That’s why the method of applying chills are limited, and the duration is usually quite short. Only Necro has more access to chill, but even then, it doesn’t help Necro makes into Meta, and it’s still the bottom class of the PVP.
Here comes the age old argument “it’s not in the meta, so it’s fine.”
And the usual “Meta classes trying to trash the bottom classes even more”, despite they already absolutely dominating the bottom classes right now. They’re so obsess with themselves that they want only 5 profession exist, and 3 inferior classes should just disappear, that’s why they post endless threads of nerfing ranger, mesmer and necro.
Ele’s are barely in the meta dude.
I’m going to quote this because this statement is too priceless.
“Ele barely in Meta”… LOL Funniest statement I’ve ever read.Ele is the absolute top class in all game modes, in PVE, WVW, SPVP alike, with the most players playing it right now.
No, they’re really not.
Ele isn’t a top class in SPvP, why? Because Shoutbow outperforms it’s role.
PvE? This isn’t the PvE sub forum.
WvW, Again, not the WvW subforum, completely different ballgame going on their with a lot more variables going on.Ignorant is bliss. You really can’t deny Ele is a must have in all game mode. Best dps/supporter in dgn, best dps and supporter of WvW, best sustain, dueler, and group fighter in PVP. This is FACT proven by statistic and numerous posts.
Seriously you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Right, let’s break this down.
First, it’s ignoraNCE is bliss.
Ele isn’t a must have in all game modes.
Best DPS/Supporter? Barely, Guardian’s the best support class in-game, and even that’s stretching it, best DPS? Yeah sure, if you go the selfish staff zerker build in PvE, but then you lose a lot of your support. You can’t have them both.
Best DPS and Supporter of WvW? No, guardians and warriors are the best support there mate thanks to Shouts and soldier runes. Necro’s are the best DPS there too due to Staffs and wells.
We’re talking about SPvP, not duels, if you’re dueling in SPvP, then anything you have to say is null, because this is a team game, not a 1 on 1 boxing match.
Best group fighter? Nah, Shoutbow takes that role with shouts healing 2k+ per shout while also having mass condi removal from soldier runes and warhorn as well as warbanner.
It’s a fact huh? because i can provide an actual statistic that claims ele’s are infact the #3rd most played class.
http://guildwars2viz.com/
Can you provide actual evidence or just text that anyone can write?I have no idea what I’m talking about? Considering i just countered everything you had to say, I’m going to hazard a guess in that i do.
You also only just started posting on the forums as of 2 months ago, either that means you’ve only just started utilizing the forums (Your first post was a troll too, might i add) or you’ve only been playing the game for a total of 2 months.
And you never considered I have an alt account and use alt account to post so trolls like you won’t hold grudge against people personally?
Let’s just wait until other veterans log on and point out how funny you stated Ele is not the top Meta class. Already quote your statement so you can’t change it.
Oh so I’m a troll now because i can provide arguments and facts against your baseless claims?
You claimed ele’s are the most played class, I provided evidence that says they’re not, you couldn’t provide evidence you just said “posts say so!”
But i’m the troll, okay.
Oh you edited your post providing a link that proves elementalists are the most played class?
Should’ve read this bit mate. “227 responses” Those 227 people out of the tens of thousands that play this game are an incredibly good benchmark to go on.. /sarcasm.
Please stop posting already.

Ele is viable in SPvP sure, but Shoutbow outperforms it’s role.

Ele’s are barely in the meta dude.
And people don’t post “endless threads of nerfing ranger mesmer and necro” they want the braindead builds gone, which they should be. No class should be rewarded as much as the Necromancer and rangers current cancer builds roaming SPvP. Yes, these classes have problems, but these builds aren’t a solution, they’re a short term band aid that encourages sloppy play that rewards the player far more than it should.
I could literally go and grab my girlfriend who’s never played this game before, stick her on a necro and go “get this bar to full and push this button, then keep hitting 1” and she’d be effective at it, same for a ranger “Go target someone and push 2, if you take too much damage, hit this ability to become immune for 8 seconds”

Talking about chill affecting Ele too much, how about I argue that why retaliation, confusion, and reflection affecting ranger so much? All our main dps are 8~12 hits, and confusion and retaliation ticks every hit, and reflection 100% negates our damage for a very long duration. As for retaliation and reflection, we rangers have ZERO counter-play to this, as oppose to ele can simply just cleanse the chill. We simply have to just stop attacking and stand there waiting it out.
Same can be said to engineer, who suffers from confusion so much each time they swap a kit, and retaliation punishes grenade a great deal. Same can be said to Warrior, which their sustain greatly hindered by poison.
Do I have to argue a nerf to all of these? If everything is countered each other so hard, do I have to argue a nerf in everything so everyone will fight with just a stick at last?
How often do you see anyone running around in Spvp with Wall of Reflection or Mesmers foci traited.
(edited by JoshuaRAWR.4653)
The Necromancers and Rangers are a result of how braindead two of their strongest builds are, both require minimal effort and barely any input, thus can be played by even a beginner to the game, so long as they have a basic understanding of the game.
The mesmer? Eh, dunno on this one, seeing it a lot too, the good mesmers stand out far above the bads though, I’m seeing a lot of mesmers just unloading everything and being insanely predictable.
I’m not fussed with the stats being removed from traits, I don’t even think they should compensate us and apply those lost stats to amulets, just leave them out.

No one has actually played reaper. Stop saying what you will have to do against something that hasn’t been released please. The fact is you don’t know how strong reaper will be.
We’ve seen all the traits and skills. I would say we have a pretty good idea of how strong the Reaper will be, but honestly chill has been OP on ele for a while, and I wouldn’t even mind if they nerfed cleansing water honestly, as long as they removed chill on class mechanic on top of the normal chill on skills.
Really, so you know how much realistic uptime of chill reapers are going to be able to get on eles when they are still making changes to reapers?
You know how much damage they are going to be able to effectively land?
Are they going to be better for commanding than guards?
The fact of the matter is, you no very little about how the reaper will actually perform in game because all you’ve seen is the skills they aren’t even done balancing. Your trying to make them seem strong to justify buffs to your class, when in all actuality you know very little.
This thread isn’t even about reapers. It’s about Chill and about how much it hinders the elementalist over every other class.
Reapers theme is chilling, thus they’re going to have a large amount of chill regardless of what you say, the theme of the class is chilling so that is what they’re going to be doing. Damage is irrelevant, throw a reaper into a +1 and that Elementalist is as good as done. Chill affects Elementalists more than any other class where-as on the opposite end of the spectrum, thieves are near immune to the bloody condition.
Chill just flat out needs a rework, it’s useless against some classes and insanely overpowered against others.
I don’t even play Elementalist in PvP, but all i need to do is wait for an Ele to leave water attunement, chill him, and he’s pretty much done.
Or don’t start the game and find a replacement before the game starts. If someone leaves during the game, tough kitten, deal with it.
While Im certainly no pro but a huge fan of new people coming to PvP, I want to try you to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUQ6QYvAxQI
Hopefully it will help you.. If any specific questions, don’t hesitate to PM ingame to my accountname: Terrorsquad.2349
(send ingame mail if Im offline and I’ll answer it asap)Cheers
Why are you begging for donations towards your legendary in the annotation for that video?
I do think it is a little too strong against elementalists. Maybe if it just reduced attunement CD by 33% instead it would be more manageable.
I totally agree, chill should not affect attunement swapping. With the Reaper we will be forced to trait cleansing water + geomancers freedom and diamond skin, and even that may not be enough.
No one has actually played reaper. Stop saying what you will have to do against something that hasn’t been released please. The fact is you don’t know how strong reaper will be.
Doesn’t matter if we’ve played Reaper or not, the entire theme to the spec is chilling, so, yeah.
Boy are you going to have fun against reapers.
First of all people the Revenant is not meant to be a major damage dealer. It’s a tank and therefore does low damage like a tank does. That’s why they are full celestial. Get your heads out of the stupid meta crap and think.
Everyone was full celestial in the beta. Everyone.
This is a thread about the Revenant not other classes.
Yeah, but you’re saying they’re Full Celestial because they’re tank. But that’s justnonsense because EVERYONE was full celestial. The issues here have less to do with meta-anything and more to do with the skill options you had on hand. You’ve got a Legend whose skills deal in transferring conditions and applying Resistance in a map where you aren’t really taking any much conditions on. Deals Torment and Confustion but a good amount of your enemies don’t even move and attack slowly. Almost everyone stayed in Jalis Stance since it was more useful. Lightning Field, Area Swiftness, Stability, Weakness, SPINNING HAMMERS etc.
There’s a trait that said gain 50% Crit Chance while in Fury. I wanted to try out, but there was no way to actually gain Fury with the skills I had.
Read a bit more, the trait doesn’t give you 50% crit chance, fury is 50% more beneficial (meaning you gain an extra 10% crit chance from fury, totalling at 30% from fury, instead of the base 20%).
“Warrior in FFXIV, the best MMO in the world”
That mandatory atma grind and fate grinding for any other jobs beside the main one is just “best mmo”
Stupidest kittening mechanic in-game.
Was just fighting a mesmer, he gets downed, hits #2 in the downed state, teleports, reappears rallied and i get completely caught off guard all because someone he tagged a week ago died on the other side of the map.
It’s kittened, why should someone rally off someone they tagged that is now nowhere near them?
really needs to be a range mechanic for being rallied off kills.
now all we need is there to be a 24 hour window before you can unblock someone you have recently blocked to prevent people from just blocking/unblocking&abusing/reblocking.
who’s we? I am against this idea simply because it is to easy to accidentaly block a frind while trying to invite him to party, so you want me to block him for next 24h because of what?
The no-whisper when blocking is good feature though.
All it needs is a confirmation window when you block someone.
An “Are you sure you wish to block x player”.
Forgot to add you can take one out of Discipline and one out of Defense and go for 2 in Tactics for Leg Specialist, really just boils down to preference.
Very aggressive Josh
Cheers, definitely an offensive build, the more you lean on the defensive side, the more chance you have in losing the fight I feel, it hasn’t got the sustainability of a shoutbow or medi guardian to outlast most builds, but it can put out an insane amount of pressure fast if the opponent isn’t careful of the confusion stacks, and against classes with little to no stability, it’s a beast, especially so if you have a hammer/mace equipped.

Can swap Longbow for Hammer & Sword for Mace if you want. I prefer to just stick with the sword/shield combo most of the time though because final thrust still hits hard, it’s less sustain than shoutbow, but still effective.
Definitely not a ‘meta’ build, but it’s very fun to play, or at least i think so, requires a few braincells to do well on as you need to land the interrupts for some pressure.

Whisper someone you have blocked.
Following my thread i posted a while ago, I’ve just noticed that you cannot whisper someone that you have blocked in-game.
Thanks for this update A-Net, now all we need is there to be a 24 hour window before you can unblock someone you have recently blocked to prevent people from just blocking/unblocking&abusing/reblocking.
No class has a rotation in PVP, it’s all based on a priority system, you use an ability to counter what the opponent is doing at the current time.
If you’re using “rotations” in pvp, you’re a predictable target and one I’ll always go for first, because you’re going to be an easy kill.
I love the arguments some people bring in.
“It’s not in the meta the class is fine”.
No. Not how it works.
Can’t deny that it’s too much, either the damage needs to be toned down, or the range needs to be reduced to 1200. 1500 via the trait is more than most classes can deal with.
Even engineers are having their range reduced on grenades, albeit they were kittene at that range anyway.
^ Perfect example of why it’s so easy to argue against people calling for a nerf to rangers. His argument boils down to “it’s too much because I say so”
Looking forward to seeing y’all post examples of longbow ranger’s dominating higher tier PvP, and how they are the reason certain teams are pulling out wins.
ok, I’ll reiterate.
It is too much because it kittens out 3k+ damage, with potential sigil procs from a range of 1500 every second.
Something doesn’t need to be dominating “higher tier pvp” for it to be stupidly strong.
Rampage elite is godmode for 20 seconds and a free kill, that’s OP, not used in “high tier pvp” because warbanner is preferred.
Power rangers are simply in PvP because it’s a build any complete moron can play, it’s a crutch build for new players because of how simplistic it is to play, equip a longbow, go berserker, push 1. Yes, rangers as a whole aren’t in a good spot, but that should be fixed, not like this.
If you want your damage, work for it, any build that is able to push out damage like a longbow ranger with absolutely no effort while doing it from a range most classes can’t deal with, it should NOT be in pvp or in the game at all.
I already know for a fact that you would be angry at me if i were to repeatedly kill you from a range of 1500 while spamming you with 3.5k hits as soon as you leave spawn.

The game is definitely fun, just bear in mind that most of the people complaining (like me) are just a bit salty that we have had next to no new content in quite a while simply because the team is focused on getting HoT ready (and that’s understandable, the team isn’t as big as a particular other MMO).
That and we’ve been doing pretty much the same thing for the past 3 years now.
Converting 10m karma into linen would not take weeks, you could do it in a day lol.
I heard of another game that spat in the faces of casuals… that went hardcore… that the content was challenging and hard.. that was made for the folks that like “trying”… what was its name… can’t remember… oh yes… Wildstar.
That went well. Let’s all be careful what we wish for here, cause we might just get it. Keep the game casual friendly anet. I love full zones and populated cities.
Wildstar catered ONLY to the hardcore.
We’re not asking for ONLY hardcore content, we just want something that will actually challenge us for a change.
I enjoy playing guild wars 2, but i can only tolerate everything being able to be done on auto pilot mode for so long.
Look at games in the NES days, they were challenging, they were hard, albeit this was in a way to pad out the games, but they were adored and loved, still are to this day.
Games that cater to the casual only alienate a lot of people that are actually gamers.
You can still have content for the casuals while introducing things for those who like a bit of a challenge, things like Liadri. Can’t do it? Get better or don’t do it. It’s a game, I like to be challenged sometimes, If i wanted a casual experience, I’d go play a facebook game.
I’ll put it like this.
WoW stated for WoD, it was going back to the “Glory days of hardcore content.” And yes, it did, but everything was also insanely simplifed in the process, every class, and i mean EVERY class now has a simple 4 button rotation/priority system.
At the start of WoD, wows subs were peaking at just under 12m.
Now? They lost a third of their subs in the first quarter of the year alone because of how casual the game has become.
By making a game too easy, you risk alienating your playerbase and losing customers, you need to introduce content that caters to both sides of the pool.
You can have your casual content, but i want my hard content, if you can’t do my hard content, then either get good or accept the fact that it’s simply something you won’t be able to achieve unless you do.
