one-time events
This is the only part of your thread that i disagree with. One time events are an incredibly bad idea, and it’s amazing that ANet are still considering doing more in the future.
A lot of gamers are unable to attend these 1 time events due to work and other commitments, meaning a lot of players miss out on something that is never going to happen again, much like the lost shore event, that was a disaster, even those that were able to attend, ended up being disconnected and missing out on a lot of the content.

A guild calendar similar to wows would be a nice addition to the game, it allows players to be more in the know of when group events are coming as well as what date & time to expect them, instead of having to rely on 3rd party sites.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
With the introduction of the Flying Broomstick, it’s occurred to me that ANet aren’t against the idea for mounts in the game, merely mounts that provide permanent speed bonuses.
With that said, my suggestion is this.
More mounts (Like the flying broomstick) in the Gem store, these mounts will provide no benefits, no speed boosts, no hidden stat bonuses, nothing. They’re purely cosmetic, they can function both in your Armor & Town clothes, and any speed boosts you gain from utility skills, weapon skills, passive traits, will still be in effect.

A lot of the time i find myself only salvaging gear once i’ve sold all the junk, and my bags are full, and as the layout of the bags are a bit clustered, with greens, blues, whites, non-salvageables and whatnot all over the place, sometimes salvaging can be a bit tedious, so i’ve got a suggestion.
A salvage X option. Now let me explain in steps.
1. You’re provided with tick boxes that allow you to select which tier of items are to be salvaged, for example “White” “Blue” “Green” “Yellow” “Orange”.
2. You’re shown what salvage kits are currently in your inventory and how many, from here, you’re able to tick which salvage kit to use, once you have ran out of said selected salvage kit, and there are still items to be salvaged, they will remain until you repeat the process (Either after buying more salvage kits, or choosing a different tier of kit)
3. You receive your crafting mats, also the possibility of having them automatically deposit into your collectibles tab would be a nice feature.
I hope i’ve explained this well enough to be fully understood, if there’s anything you’re uncertain of though, please don’t hesitate to ask!

dosent the sword #3 do less dmg than its auto attack?, im starting to wanan reroll warrior, mobile, high burst and still decent survivability… i find my guardian gets into fights but can never get away and i think i could make a warrior justa s tanky?
Yes but it also reflects projectiles.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
The problem with this build, is in a PvP environment, you won’t be able to take anyone out, and as soon as they find out they aren’t getting anywhere, they’ll just run, and as a guardian, you have no reliable means of catching them.

Currently leveling a ranger, and with the classes i’ve previously level’d (Thief, Warrior & Guardian) figuring out where i wanted to place my traits to suit my playstyle was fairly easy, however it seems no matter how much i sit down and stare at the traits and utility skills of the ranger, i can’t figure out where to put my traits, so i’m hoping to get a bit of assistance from someone more experienced.
Currently only level 12, and focusing on the Shortbow & Sword + Torch for now, it’s working quite well, so i haven’t got much reason for changing, also running with a Polar bear, which i’ll be swapping to a brown bear when i can grab one.
Basically hoping to stay melee based, if it’s a feasible way to play that is, i don’t want to purposely kitten myself.
I was going to place my first 5 traits into beastmastery, but from there on, i haven’t got a clue where to go!
Edit: Also noticed that the dogs have higher Toughness than bears, but lower Vitality, does this put them on equal footing in terms of taking damage? Or does one excel over the other?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I’m looking to create a ranger, as i like the idea of long range playstyle with a bow (Don’t recommend a warrior, i’ve got one and the ranged playstyle is boring and sluggish.) however the constant whining in this section of the forum is seriously pushing me away from doing so, are there any specs that are viable in high end fractals/dungeons, that aren’t reliant on the pet at all? As that seems to be the problem, which is understandable, Pets AI is kitten they should either be immune to AoE damage, or have some sort of resistance against it.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
The new daily listing group events, is slightly confusing, i’m slightly Autistic and i’m having a fair bit of difficulty in working my head around this one.
I assumed the events were just the normal events i had been casually doing for previous dailies, but the number was lowered, but this seems to not be the case.
Am i to assume now that “Group” events, are infact things like the dragon events, etc?

More weapons are probably something we’re definitely going to see in the future, Morning stars (not maces, these are 2 handed), spears (out of water) 2 handed Battle axes, crossbows, etc.

I agree, there shouldn’t be “Utility/defensive/offensive” Slots, there should just be “Infusion” Slots.. It’s just a pain in the kitten and makes buying the wrong item by mistake even more unforgiving.

Looking to get the full Human T3 Cultural set (Minus the helmet) as such this is going to require a hefty amount of cash, i’m just wondering if there’s anything particular that’s exceptionally good at making cash that i’ve missed? I’m not exactly the best when it comes to flipping items in games, so the trading post is out other than selling items.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Use this build and the Slave Driver will kill you with 2-3 hits.
You can run a Warrior full Berserker because they have Heavy Armor and 18k HP.
EDIT: I’m not saying that it’s not possible with a Thief, but it’s not easy. You won’t get hit 2-3 times. You’ll get hit maybe once.
You’re invincible 80% of the time versus slave driver.
Oh and each pistol whip will heal you for 2,700 health with your signet of malice. So if you do get hit you’ll heal up pretty much instantly.
Pretty sure that in CoF SoM only heals for about 100-110 Hp per hit.
With that said, pistol whip doesn’t hit 25 times.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Pretty much the only reason to go underwater as a thief is for map completion and if you want to get the dodge daily done asap, there’s really no other reason.
Under water combat as a thief is so boring and tedious, it’s absurd that we’re the only class without a decent AoE attack underwater, everything minus the Spear autoattack and block (which doesn’t work if you’re not being focused in the first place, which you shouldn’t be) are just bad.
The Harpoon poison trail lasts barely any time, meaning you can’t get any effect out of it. The 5 skill on spear NEEDS to hit more than 1 target, makes no sense that it doesn’t considering the animation has you going all over the place.
Everytime i’m underwater on my thief in fractals, i just switch to my harpoon and spam 1, there’s really no other ability on those weapons worth using..
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Or just have it so that if the person who entered the dungeon first leaves, it doesn’t kick everyone else.
It’s a stupid mechanic.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Because people assume that raids would be content that NEEDS to be done, but just like everything else in gw2, nothing is mandatory, it’ll give you a small edge sure, but it’s not mandatory.
For example, dungeons? Nah, just buy crafted exotic gear, same stat values.
Fractals? Nah, do dailies, get laurels.
Raids would be something pretty awesome and would work well with ANets upcoming Dungeon group Finder, obviously raids shouldn’t be stupidly large like 30+ players, but something small, say 15-20 players, and the raid dropped gear could have unique armor/weapon skins, crafting recipes, etc.
People will just associate everything similar to wow as a bad thing basically.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I can’t tell if this is a troll attempt or not, but seriously, no. Please do NOT nerf dungeons, instead, increase the difficulty, as it stands, they are way too easy and eventually start to feel more like a chore than an actual gameplay mechanic.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Alternatively, if you have an 80 warrior or Mesmer, farm CoF part 1 a couple of times and use the cash to craft some levels, i was level 68 on my thief before i even finished the starting area for my race.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
The OP’s idea is good, but what if it only duplicates the effect, not the damage? So vulnerability is stacked 10 at a time instead of 5, i’m thinking that this may still be too powerful though.

They can support you with shouts and have some nice banners (i play guardian mostly now so don’t know them really well.
But then again DPS with nice survivability is always good for meThe only supportish shout is “Shake It Off”, rest are dps (no one uses “Fear Me!”). The only decent banners are Banner of Discipline and War Banner, yet again mostly for dps.
Dude, what about the fact that my shouts heal (allies within range) for 5k every 14 seconds? AND give you all might and fury AND hit the dungeon boss with 10 stacks of vulnerability meaning 10% more damage… From everyone, so really the other shouts aren’t that uselss – Oh and coupled with my soldier runes i remove 4 conditions every 14 seconds too, thank me later squishy theif
And BEFORE you say i sacrifice DPS for this i have might stacking on crits and perma-fury meaning 68% crit chance, Can comfortably drop theives in both PvP and WvW – with 2 skills – Bolas -> 100 Blades = Dead squishy theif.
I could easily rip you apart and explain just how dumb you truly are, but it’s not worth risking the forum ban over.
What i will say though is every 14 seconds? 5k Heal? Lol no. If traited, FGJ and Shake it off are on a 20 second cd and on my Mark is on a 24 second cooldown, the 5k heal? No, each one will AoE heal for about 1k, it scales terribly with clerics, and you’d be a fool to use clerics gear to boost the healing capability of your shouts as it’d gimp your damage majorly.
Dungeon bosses (The final ones) have a buff that causes vulnerability to last less than normal, meaning your OOM is effectively 10% damage increase for i’d say.. oh 2 seconds on a 24 second cooldown.
4 Condition removal, yes, every 14 seconds. No, someones either oblivious to the actual cooldowns, coming up with facts out their kitten or can’t count.
and don’t even get me started on how you think Throw Bolas + 100 Blades actually works flawlessly, are you aware that other classes besides you have ways to remove conditions?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Solo dungeons? Sure.
Same rewards as group dungeons? No.
If you aren’t willing to put in the effort of finding a group, and completing the content with a group of players, which is the main aspect of a MULTIPLAYER game, then you should not reap the rewards.
Sorry, but i agree with a lot of the posts, you’re the type of player that just wants everything spoonfed to him with minimal effort, games are meant to have challenges to maintain re-playability. If you want everything spoonfed to you on a silver platter, i suggest you go into the gaming industry and make your own game, good luck in it selling though.

What is it that makes farming CoF so appealing? Don’t you only get 20 tokens per run after the first 60 a day?

No. Message Body length must at least be 15.

Would be nice to have more choice between Adrenaline Skills, perhaps have the bars fill up slower, but each time you use an Adrenaline skill, only one slot is consumed? That might be OP though and i can see things like Evis and Kill shot taking a damage hit, so i’m not sure.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
If anything, i’d say the older Evis was more balanced.. It gave the opposing player more time to evade it.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
With one trait, you have access to pretty much permanent vigor almost, and dodging damage is far better than soaking it, plus 1600 toughness isn’t that much.. The Warriors survivability comes mostly from Dodging and Mobility skills, or at least that’s how I’ve been playing, and I’m tough to take down.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
This is very similar to what i was running for quite a while, pretty much the exact same spec, just different chosen traits and skills, it’s quite effective, for a PvE/Dungeon build, i went for something along the lines of this
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAS3ejgOVvNPKPMRCAkCsAzUoIVh2SPCjt1A;TsAAyCoo8y0loLbQOvkBt+YIyWEA
The weapons i used were Mace/warhorn & Rifle or Longbow, i’d sometimes replace the warhorn with a shield if i knew that reflects would be a big help, but i never bothered to switch the reflect trait out, as nothing else available seemed appealing, although the 200 toughness trait is nice.
I’d swap out signet mastery for Heightened Focus during dungeons, as i’d be using Battle Standard there, so Signet mastery was pretty much going to waste, and as i wasn’t going to be using my burst, the extra crit is nice, as is the damage from Berserkers power.
I’d also trait banners to regen, and Warhorn skills to convert conditions into boons, basically trying to fulfill the support role as best as possible, while also trying not to gimp my damage far too much, and it actually works incredibly well, you won’t be pumping large numbers, but with the right gear (Knights with Emeralds) you can get a fairly high crit chance and see the red numbers quite often, i definitely felt i contributed to the group, and it’s certainly a useful spec, never tried switching out the traits for others though to give it a try in WvW.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
The only thing i always find myself taking is the Warhorn trait, i’ve come to love that trait so much, i just can’t seem to create a build without it now.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Perhaps removed the Knockback and replace it an AoE fear? This way it’s equal to the Guardians knockback.
I guess it could work via Shouting and scaring your enemies or something?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Can we expect to see more of these in the close future? Currently only having 1 for each armor type is quite depressing, as they all look amazing and i would love to have more choice. (Possibly some more sexy helmets for Charr as well)
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Why is it even there? It’s obviously not working as intended, because it only seems to punish people who are actively looking for a group, i’m trying to do the Arah story, and looking for a group for this thing is a pain in the kitten (Why does MY Story require a group in the first place? It shouldn’t.)
After sending out a message every 5 minutes for 10 minutes (2 total) i’m now being told i can’t send any more messages due to excessive messaging, ok, fair enough. Wait 15 minutes, try again, same message. Hm, yeah, good one.
Remove this filter, if people spam, so what? There’s an ignore feature for a reason isn’t there?

Sons of Svanir = Frost, located in wayfarer foothills.
Flame Legion – Fire, located in diessa plateau.
I’m under the impression they’re either siding with one another, or having some sort of war underground.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
By “piled on” you of course mean two enemies, right?
No, just one. If someone finishes and then finishes again after being knocked down, even if you time it perfectly, vengeance will not have recharged.
That being said I think it’s kind of okay as-is, other classes have to deal with something like that ele imobilize thing on their third skill which is pretty kitten in comparison
The Ele immobilize was originally the 2 skill, which it should’ve remained as or changed into a knockback or something, giving them vapor instantly available for use as soon as they’re downed was quite a dumb move, just a bandaid instead of actually tweaking the abilities.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Very nice, the gameplay was smooth, i disagree with you saying Engineers are more fun though. Do you plan on getting your warrior to 80 and doing more videos?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I agree Drawing, i feel quite bad for under-estimating the use of this weapon, i saw it and thought “eh, pretty bad, i’ll never need that” but now that i’ve been playing the game, understood the mechanics and traits, i see the Warhorn as a must now. especially when i saw the trait that you described. Vigor feels so important to me as well, that on top of being a tough kitten with a high hp pool, the ability to spam more dodges just = win.
I’ll definitely keep a Longbow on hand then, i never really thought about dropping the banner into the combo field and then quickly picking it up and blasting it for a combo finisher, feels like there’s just enough time to pull that off if executed well, most of the time i’m running with SoR, but in dungeons i’ll almost always swap out for the res banner.
15 Extra might stacks than i usually get sounds very nice as well actually, just need a viable build now that can make use of these abilities on the go, i think a mace as a MH with the Warhorn would probably be the best if i’m going for a supportive role, at least that way i’ve got a block.

Shouldn’t matter as their account will be looked into anyway, but go with botting, it’ll probably get a speedier view.

Alternatively you could just have Gw2 take up half the screen, and a film take up the other half and find a daily to constantly repeat.. I’m not sure if you run the risk of being banned for suspicion of botting, a lot of people are saying it’s happening, and eventually the diminishing returns on event rewards will kick in, but i’m just brainstorming.

If someone is to say “Nerf” it means for the content to take a difficulty hit, and get weaker, when a class gets nerfed, it either loses damage, or loses a function that gave it an advantage.
If a mob, boss, raid boss, any other form of content is nerfed, that too is also taking a difficulty hit and becoming easier. If it were being modified to become a harder encounter, it would then be receiving a buff, this is the way it works.
Generally nerf = Making content easier by weakening the monsters/quests requirements or reducing the effectiveness of a class by weakening damage or removing/changing utilities so they no longer provide a big advantage or become effectively useless.
