My wife and I spent about 300$ altogether since launch.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
And if you are going to go AFK. Don’t do it near the kittenING TURRETS!!! YOu scake up the event, you die cause you are AFK while you are dying people are trying to rez you cause they dont know you were AFK, your dead body keeps scaling up the event. If you are going to go AFK, the are plenty of safe waypoints and vistas all over the maps. I climb up on the roof of that structure north of Teq when I do. Like that if I am late to the party, I haven’t been making harder for the people there while I was gone.

Yeah, I just started filling up their mailboxes with suggestions on where to go AFK.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I like the new Teq but either him/her or the timer needs to be adjusted. It’s fine for large super organized guilds but when you are in a sparkfly fen populated by a bunch of randoms you might as well just go do something else. Trying to organized 100+ people you don’t know and don’t listen is next to impossible. I was on SBI yesterday when Devs decide to show them how to do it. Man, the Devs were there, every was listening and doing their jobs, and we failed!!

I don’t mind the XP booster (I use it on Alts) but that kittening bag of coins needs to go.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Tequatl should have a 5 minute pre-event consisting of nothing more than 3 announcements, 2.5 minutes apart, and perhaps some eye candy and NPC dialogue.
First call: Tequatl sighted!
To let people know things are about to get interesting. Also issue an active play warning.Second call: Tequatl is about to attack!
Have a tidal wave wash over the entire event area. At this point, kick everyone who hasn’t moved/acted since the first call.Third call: Tequatl is here!
Kick off the boss fight. The 2.5 idle minutes between the second call and the third call allow for people to get on the server and replace all the kicked AFK-ers.
+1 to this, why let people aren’t even present ruin the event for everyone else. They go AFK by the turrets, scale up the event, die, and keep staying there for sometimes 5 or 6 minutes into the event. Turrets get over run, the dps zerg dies, Teq wins. I think people should just fill up the AFKers mailboxes with anti-AFK propaganda.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Maybe they are deaf. I can shout offensive things to a someone but if that can’t hear me it won’t hurt them.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Same for me, I want to do this event with people who actually want to beat him. Please invite.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
This is my build for teq. I couldn’t find the potion of undead slaying in the cosumables but that is what I use. I stack on zerg and when there is an opening I go 100B the foot. Regen banners help when turrets aren’t doing there jobs.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
As a warrior, if I am defending turrets I go full zerk, zerk still kicks kitten doing that. If I intended to zerg Teq I go PVT with 30 in strength and tactics.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Doesn’t SoS have a “Very High” population? How can you guys NOT get this done? O.o
Because we have a very high population of stubborn individuals with kittenty builds that they don’t want to learn and change or even just try. Every fight I’ve tried on SoS had about 15-20 AFK by the turrets, another 10-15 dead unwilling to WP and run back and a couple of idiots on turrets spamming buffs and heals on themselves.

Hangs head in shame 80% that time.
It’s going to take something special now to beat this with our morale
I know what I will be doing saturday, I’m waking up extra earlier and I’m going to camp Blackgate’s Sparkly Fen until they beat it again. Then I will be giving Teq the finger and never do that event again.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
FYI you are supposed to waypoint to broonolu point, swim to that battery, and use the pad to return. If you sit there you screw the event over for everyone else!
Yes!! Use the jump pad by the battery to get back as to not agro all the krait and pull them into the turrets.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
But if they shut down guesting, how is that Blackgate super guild going to come over and carry us through Tequatl so that I can get the achievement.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Also.. to add.. max people we’ve gotten into TS was like 40.. last night.
Did it on an overflow with no TS and we got farther that SoS ever did.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
SoS could use a lot less trolls and AFKers.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Timer is fine proven to be enough, several servers have a couple minutes to spare.
AFkers are the real issue , watching 10-20 at way point during event is annoying, I say simply change the fact if inactive or dead for more than 2 min at any time during the event then no reward should the dragon be downed, the reward is why most are standng there they are the “loot kitten” group… it may stop parking a toon there.
I totally with cannon kick it is a critical part of the mechanics I would add a CD so they cant just jump back on and troll.Quality thats silly, the mechanics are actually very simple, at this point every event has a large percentage of first timers and a month from now this will be a routine event as it was in the past. Those 4 servers that completed it camped with basically the same group on voice chat, did 6 or so attempts in a row as well as having several very large guilds present which makes it easier to control and explain.
I have only been at 5 attempts on our server, the 2 overflows I have done did better than the main, individuals organized them and explained in general chat, the last attempt in overflow we got alot into our voice chat and we actually had the best attempt as of 9pm last night for our server though still only 60% but you could see the change in execution and that folks were understanding it. When you talk “control quality” it starts sounding like WoW, lets not go there.
I think 2mins is still too much, it should be 1 min during the event. I you are not doing anything for 1 min you get booted.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I can see this going the way of the Karka Queen pretty soon. I thikn most people guesting know this, so they are guesting to good organized servers so that that can have a chance before it gets abandoned.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
The AFKers are the worst. Ante should reduce the AFK timer to 60sec during that event. That will get rid of quite a few useless dead bodies scaling up the event.
I agree that trying to organize a bunch of random people is an uphill battle. I used to be part of a large guild, it would take us 45min to an hour just to get people to form up for a stupid guild photo.

Most of the time the commanders are the ones placing the siege down. If they do they can kick whoever they want off of it (expect golems, the most expensive piece of siege yet any troll can just steal it. ????)
As for the Teq turrets, I’ve seen some pretty noob Tags firing at the fingers while the zerg died.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Turn down (or off) your post processing.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I love the mechanics of the fight, Teq has grown quite the pair of “censored” and the fight is a hell of a lot of fun. The 15 min timer however sucks “censored” and it should be nerfed. Even though I love the event, I will not be doing it again cause on my server it is a 100% fail rate and probable will still be a 100% fail rate in a month from now.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I wish I could make the UI translucent.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
The timer should determine the level of success until the 30 min mark and then you fail. Beat him under 15 mins you get a lot of shinies. Beat him under 20 and 25 and you get less and less loot until you inevitably fail at 30min. This would give a chance to those stuck on overflow and those on low pop servers to actually get past the first stage of the fight. Personally I would prefer the encounter to be harder and not have a timer but that’s just me.
I’m slightly worried this would cause people to quit after 15 minutes, if they see they’re not going to get their ascended loot/big shinies bag anyway, thus often by proxy failing the event for others way ahead of its actual ending.
Well, at the moment they are quitting after 10 mins when they see that his health hasn’t dropped below 90%.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”

I say make him harder but get rid of the time entirely. I like to fail stuff cause I wasn’t good enough to beat a dragon not because I simply don’t have enough DPS to beat a timer.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I read a suggestion earlier saying that the timer should determine the amount of reward you get. <15min you this and this and that. <20 min you get this and that. <30min you just get that. If you can’t beat him in 30 you fail.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
i can see the failure of this event in the low population server
It must really suck for those playing im different time zones as well. I remember when I played on a Euro server 80% of the people were sleeping while I was on.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
We barely make it to the first laser on SoS and I’ve been at it all night. It’s a great fight but the the timer just sucks all the fun out of it. I’m done with Teq until it either gets nerfed (the timer) or until our server gets organized enough to beat him. I for one am not willing to put that much effort into beating him cause at the moment I have ascended gear to grind out and all this is giving me is a repair bill.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I think it is dependent on gear, build, and skill. We could force everyone into glass builds, but if they don’t know how to survive with that, it would just leave more corpses and less damage done overall.
Glass cannon zerkers is by far the most useless gear to use on him unless you killing fingers and adds or guarding turret users.
I run full glass warrior and that is basically what I do, defend the turrets. I tried DPSing Teq but at the moment I don’t know his attacks can’t time my evades properly.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I think 15 mins is doing with practice and with competent turret operators. I just wishes that the dead lazy kitteners would just WP and run back instead of waiting for a rez. If you are down and can be rezzed quickly we will but if you are dead it takes too long and the time we spend reviving your lazy kitten is time not spent contributing to the fight.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I play a build which is 90% the same as this. I opted for sword & board (warhorn while I running around the map) as a second set and traited Destruction of Empowered instead of signet mastery. For slot skills I got Doylak signet and Berserker stance and Stomp or Bulls.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Trait is already being nerfed.
can we have a link to that statement?
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Too OP, by doing this you would hurt hammer builds more than the stun lock build which is basically what you are QQing about. Unsuspecting doesn’t need a nerf. Stun duration sigil (which is getting it’s just nerf) and Skull crack animation (too fast and looks like an auto attack) is what needs to be fixed.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I believe it isn’t a question of nerfing the warrior, it’s about buffing up some of the other classes so that they can have viable counter builds to it. The nerf to the the sigils will help. I main a warrior, I’ve tried the stun lock (still prefer my Hammer or Condi build), it is very strong 1v1 (borderline OP) but it is a 1 trick pony and is very predictable and can easily be beaten if you are built to counter it but not all classes have access to the required counter skills. I think the main problem is that the skull crack isn’t very well telegraphed and looks a lot like an auto attack (especially if that warrior is a tiny little Asura.) If they changed the animation a little to make it easier to identify along with the changes to the sigil it would be a very well balanced build.

While I don’t miss the trinity, I wish that CC would play a bigger role in PvE. The only best way to clear any content is with pure raw DPS which make most encounters pretty lame. How about bosses that aren’t immune to CC? or Fighting something other than a bunch of super inflated trash mobs?
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I’m still trying to figure out how a balance feedback thread turned into an anti-thief rally. Yes they are annoying and fight like cowards and stealth is the gimmicky skill that they have to rely on. I feel sorry for them cause out of all the classes, thief is the only one that nobody ever feels guilty about corpse dancing on. I hate them cause most builds I run across are a hard counter to my warrior hammer build and I have to resort to running away or dying most of the time. That being said Thief is a pretty weak class that relies on a single strong gimmick which must really suck. There are only 2 or maybe 3 viable builds which makes them very predictable. I wouldn’t mind seeing some changes to them so that I can we can fight something other than a d/d, s/d or p/d.
Since I main a warrior I am more curious about the changes to shouts and want to know if there will be any changes to the 5,15,25 minor jokes in the tactics line.

What I understood from this topic: monkeys can count to 64, and dead three legged dogs run very slowly.
I thought it was, if monkeys were given the choice between 32 bananas or 64 bananas they would prefer to have 64 cause monkeys know that more is better.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
The key farming was the main reason for the drop rates of the chests to get nerfed.
I haven’t gotten a Box o Fun out of a chest yet, but its possible. There’s alot of useless junk in them though. (I’m looking at you Bag of Coins)There’s still good stuff in them, but its a gamble. Always be aware of that.
lol, I got a heavy bag of coins with 8c in it once. I guess BLTC has a different definition of heavy than I do.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
A GS/Sw-WH warrior is a trolling build and nothing else, all it can really do is run away. When I see one run, I take that as a win. Sure he will probably come back and annoy the kitten out of me but that is all it is, an annoyance, just like a perma stealth thief.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Having an extra + 5 of 1 stat (+4 if you buy the laurel version) at lvl 80 = to about 0.1% increase combat efficiency. You’d be an idiot for not taking a utility infusoin unless you need the extra AR for high level fractals.

I play 3 builds in WvW and. have 1400hrs logged on my warrior (almost exclusively in WvW) 2 of them are the dual sword condition and the mace/gs stun lock. I have lost some fights to pretty much every other profession (these guys knew how to play their builds to counter mine). People complaining that the healing signet is OP need to spend less time crying on the forums and more time l2p. When I encounter a profession/build that totally owns me, I go looking for it on the net, I start a new character and practice playing that build in the myst until I know how it works.
Once you know that build’s strong points and weak points you can then modify you own build/playstyle to counter it. I know that is what a lot of warriors did back when we were weak, maybe that is why we seem so OP to you, cause we know how your build works and how to crush it, now it is time for you to do the same.

I don’t know if very many people will bother crafting ascended jewelery since you can already get ascended trinkets with laurels, commendations, fractal relics. Price of orbs might not increase as much as you might think unless the add craftable back pieces. Has legendary trinkets been confirmed?

I got 2 exotic inscriptions from salvaging some exos I dropped from champ chests. I used them to craft some quick weapons to boost my crafting level. Here is the catch, even though the inscription is already made, I still had to combine 5 ectos with it to make those weapons. Seems like a rip off to me.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I think the problem is people not knowing how to make proper builds. You would not believe how many people run without stun breaks and with very limited condi removal in WvW.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
No way, we need fewer power traders flipping, making it a pain for people who actually want the item. If anything, reduce the limit.
1. Reducing the limit will not affect power traders in the slightest. They can just spam buy orders.
2. There is nothing wrong with flippers, I like selling my cheap stuff instantly. If they can turn it around and make a profit that’s good for me, they will have money to buy my next cheap item.
3. Nobody is stopping you from buying any item you want and I don’t see why it would be a pain to place a buy order and wait if you want it cheaper.
I would love to be able to place a 1000+ buy order. When I go on a crafting spree I need lots of mats and 250 at a time just doesn’t cut it.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I think all that shouts really need are better minor traits to replace the 5-15-25 jokes that we have in the tactics line
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I wish it the content would slow down a bit. Getting tired of the bi-weekly achievement grind. So tired that I have decided to totally ignore the SAB stuff amd going to chill in WvW for a couple weeks.

For condi build you either go Rabid for applying more hurt or Apothecary if you want to run the healing banner varient.
