I think you first determine what role you want to play before deciding how much armor you need. I have a Condi/Tank sw-sw/LB build with almost 3.8k armor 1800 condition damage 0-20-20-0-30 for roaming and soloing camps and stuff. Got a hammer/lb build with knights armor cavalier trinkets sitting at 3.5k armor 0-10-30-0-30 for when I we are on the defensive and protecting our towers. My offesive hammer build in full zerg mode is a mix of zerk and knigths armor with zerk/cavalier trinkets and sits at around 2.9k armor. All of my builds are about 20k HP, HP is overrated, with the amount of conditions flying around in wuvwuv and extra 5k will only prolong your life a few secs.

I got an I5 3770K and a OCZ Vertex (4) ssd on a 6g SATA and my loading screens never last more that 10s. Under 5s for most areas, between 5 and 10 for LA.
You must live way closer to game servers then. Also im sure an i5 3770k doesn’t exist
Sorry about that I meant I5 3570k. Also runing on a 50kbs internet connection, don’t know how close I am to the server but I’m not going to be complaining about load times any times soon.

Make sense, hadn’t thought of that.

I noticed over the past 2 days that the rpice of superior sharpening stones is ridiculously low. I can’t understand why? Is there somerthing I am not seeing here?
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
The real question is why would you even need splitters?
I like to experiment with builds. It gets expensive when you try a rune and find out it isn’t working out and destroy it when trying a different rune. With this I could remove the rune and keep it for another build.

I’ve been asking and waiting for this tool but as much as I would love to use it, 6000 gems for 25 is a way more than what I value that service to be worth. I was hoping for 1800 or maybe as high as 2400 for 25. At 6000 gems Anet can stick em where it’s dark and smelly.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I’ve been saving all of mine over the past 2 days. Got 2 stacks, all those blues and greens should help give the MF boost a kick start.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Sounds like someone is frustrated cause they worked hard to try and finish off Scarlet but failed with no loot cause everyone else was busy looting Aetherblades.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I just destroy mine cause I have no interest in doing a gauntlet since I killed Liadri and they drop so kittening often and take up the bag/bank space for nothing.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I bought it for convenience, I know I will be recycling thousands of blue and greens in the near future the raise my MF%. Not having to bother buying a bunch of kits all the time is worth it to me. It was the same for the harvesting tools.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
This ruins the event. Nobody wants to race to complete it and get organized, they want to stack the whole zerg on one pirate captain for 8 minutes. Then it’s turning the completionists against the farmers. It would be hilarious except the farmers always win, and when they don’t it’s because the completionists have been working overtime closing portals for far less rewards, and then the farmers get the benefit of the double loot.
That is worse than Magic Find leeching could ever be and it’s not fun.
I farm the champs with over 256% MF, can’t get any worse than that. My bags are full of greens and yellows with 30-40 boxes. Just thought I’d rub it in a little.

In addition to Colin’s response:
As Colin mentioned we have dedicated resources to addressing performance (server and client side). We formed a small team back in Spring to get the ball rolling. Recently we’ve been upping our resources and have made policies company-wide to ensure our releases don’t have negative effects on the performance of the game. You’ll start noticing, as early as the release in 2 weeks, that we’re improving performance of the game.
Optimizing is an extremely dangerous thing to do, especially to a Live game. We can’t just push out these optimizations as we go, as much as we’d like to. They go through a testing cycle of a minimum of 6 weeks to ensure they don’t have a negative impact on the game. We have a great group of people in QA that are staying on top of reports on the forums as well as doing dedicated performance testing across the game while putting together information for our Engineers to address issues as they pop up.
As I mentioned above, the first round of noticeable improvements should be rolling out in a couple weeks. From then on, I hope to have some sort of noticeable gain every 4 – 6 weeks. I hope to have more information on this in the near future.

TY for the info, can’t wait this for myself. It would be nice having GW2 run smoothly in large scale fights. Especially, when I know it is only using 50% of my PC’s potential but performs like kitten.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
If they gave no reward for failure and left the rest of the event as is, you would still have a hard time completing it cause the farmers would just go back to farmer champs in Frostgorge and Orr and you would be stuck trying to complete it with 1/2 the people..

Hey Brutaly, have run a guard and ONLY a guard since Alpha, I also run the guild Vanquish <salute>
I see A LOT of demanding and even some down right rude posts within this thread so I thought Id take a moment to simply say thank you for such an incredible write up not to mention you keep it up to date, that is a lot of work and know that it is appreciated.

There are some big changes on the horizon, a lot of people are speculating, of course the market will be shaken up but it is only temporary and it will stabilize gain

I have 1800hrs in game, 1500 of those are on my Warrior. There have been some rough times but I have to agree that we are kind of in the sweet spot right now and are finally one of the best balanced classes once again.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Warrior is fine.
He said it! You’re all witnesses!
ROFL 15char minimum
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Probably a variation of the Sw-Sw/LB. I started with a full Apothecary build and I am switching more towards and Rabid build cause I find that the healing signet still doesn’t scale all that well.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I never got the Hype about Divinity runes and always thought that the superior version was ridiculously over priced. The only thing good about it is the Crit Damage but I can get that on much cheaper runes.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
wow
how do u not see it…every 10 sec the enemy tagg goes to yellow, so he is no longer in combat so he regens hp.
plz dont post crap, when u have no idea how the game or skill works. trollol
Do you not see that this is a joke about all the QQing for a Healing Signet nerf.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
i made a topic few days ago claiming this and anet moved it … ¬¬
tons of players top 100 run a warrior, it just crashes rangers engineers necros guardians stun lock features must be revised.
also longbow is not really balanced
Agreed, LB is not really balance. It’s slow awkward and has easily dodgeable attacks. It should be buffed up a bit.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I am currently running knights gear with cavalier trinkets, 3760 armor with sword and shield, 36?? with the Hammer. Healing Signet is very effective, especially when combined with adrenal health. I use Healing Surge on another build for better adrenaline management. Mending I haven’t used since the first last September and find it rather useless since I have plenty of other sources for condition removal.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I get what the OP is saying. I mainly play 1 char. I have 5 different builds for it that I use in WvW depending on whether I am solo roaming, commanding, zerging and another 2 which are left overs from old updates which were rendered kind of useless cause of all the changes brought to the classes. That’s a lot of Armor and weapons to upgrade to ascended if I want each of those builds to run a max effectiveness. I haven’t even started putting the infusions on my trinkets yet. I got 2 other alts that I also like to play would like to eventually gear up also. What worries me the most is that right now I have to choose a build to gear up, what if Anet nerfs the kitten out of it shortly after I’m down gearing it up and that set gets stored in the locker indefinitely like my other sets
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Anet made Aetherblades more profitable than Minions, you get the achievements whether you win or lose. Minion aren’t any more fun to kill than Aetherblade and Molten Champs. The bonus chest is only once per day per map. Why wouldn’t I focus on the Aetherblades and get an extra 10-15 gear boxes? Why are people all OCD on completing every event at the cost of getting less reward? It’s not like Scarlet is a fun and interesting fight. Just stand there and press 1 and get some clockwork scraps for yet another ugly pair of shoulder pads.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I tried it doesn’t work cause it is no longer my home.
Hmm, where you the only one in guild? Cause I know this used to work as others posted about it in the past. Sorry to hear about your luck
Yes, I was the only member. I’m waiting for my friend to log on and accept my guild invite. Hopefully it will all be there for her.

Just a heads up to peeps with personal guild stashes that are thinking of transferring.
I had a personal guild with guild stash when I was on NSP. It’s where I kept stacks upon stacks of mats and Coffers. I recently moved to SoS just to realise that all your guild upgrades do not follow you to what ever server you are moving too. Luckily I have a friend who is still on NSP and she will kindly mail my stuff back to me. It would be nice if Anet had some sort of warning pop up before you confirm your transfer, I wonder how many other people got caught by this.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
I ran zerk chest legs and helm, with PTV shoulders, gloves, and boots with zerk/cavalier trinkets on my warrior for a long time in both PvE and WvW. Got a nice blend of attack power/survivability that was good enough for both. You could trade the PTV stuff for kinghts to get more toughness. Zerk is fine for just PvE but if you want to survive in WvW you need a tougher build. GS-Mace/shield is a pretty effective build and if you want a range weapon LB with cleansing Ire trait is the way to go.

I for one have hated the fact that I’ve been having to sacrifice stats that I really want to use for magic find stats since the game came out. I always felt that the magic find mechanic was completely flawed and broke this game although not to the point that I was going to stop playing. I was overjoyed when this was announced.
This is a welcome change, now I can play my alts more often since MF will be account bound. I just hope I get something worthwhile for my full set of MF gear (without losing the skins). It would be nice to get some info on what the got planned for it.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Staying still just means they’re bleeding more anyway. =)
Yes, torment is a kitten. It really puts you between a rock and a hard place but when you get it, cleanse it before running. I love to see just stack up on you as you are trying to make a break for it.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
a GOOD condition warrior will own a mesmer 11/10 times.
Actually, not quite true. There is a build in WvW that I played against which I could not keep the pressure on long enough to stack enough conditions to hurt him. It was a stalemate. We fought for about 4 mins then his friends showed up and 1 vs 3 good players still near impossible. I’ve never played the class so I can say what kind of build it was.
yes, if they can dish out so much dps, they need to be squishy. thats the trade off when you spec glass cannon, you die quick. signet warriors are putting out heavy burst yet are very tanky. to be fair im seeing this done with other combos.. tanky heal sig with hammer/mace etc. i seen this last night, a tanky sig warrior was absolutely walloping me with hard crits and cc but i couldnt get him down past 1/5 of his hp after full dps rotations. so its not the condis its the tankiness
i really dont understand how you can find it within you to justify 400-1k healing per second for any build for anyone. healing signet should be dropped to 250-300 per second, or make it 400 every time you land an attack (1 sec cd). being able to passively heal yourself for up to 5k per 5 seconds without giving up any offensive posturing whatsoever is just stupid
Condition builds take time to ramp up their DPS. They need to be tanky in order to do so. This not a Skullcrack-100b insta kill build. We have to stack bleeds and burns which get cleared easily so we have to do it over and over again until you run out on condition removal. Then we can watch you slowly die. If we are lucky we can give you a little torment which speeds up the process a little since most people have a hard time staying still.

I level my Alts through crafting, can be expensive but it only takes a few hours to go from 0-80 with crafting boosters.
I’m not talking about the best/fastest way. I’m wondering about the best few minutes a day way just to get a bar of XP or something across all alts.
I’ve played probably 95% of my game time on my main. Don’t really like using my alts except would be nice to get my thief and mesmer to 80 for WvW.
That’s what I mean, play on your main, then spend 10-15 mins crafting your Alt at the end of your session. That’s how I did my Guardian and Ele. I crafted them until lvl 60, then I just run through maps unlocking waypoints and complete Orr and Frost Gorge sound maps.

It’s free and not very useful, kind of like many real birthday presents I have gotten in the past. I think that Anet really hit the mark on this one in terms of realism. I’ll gladly take it anyway.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
If Anet really needs money, while they’re on a free to play model, they should put more effort into designing higher quality items for the gem store. In my view, the gem store lacks variety, and what does exist there is somewhat lacking in quality and therefore, appeal.
People want quality, and they’ll pay for it.
The gem store has been relying mainly on RNG items and limited time offers to bring in the money. It would be nice to have more variety of permanent stuff to buy other than cheesy town clothes.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
it is not the condi that is the problem, its the defense that is coupled with it.
you can run full condi with high toughness, naturally high hp, heavy armor, and a healing signet which is healing for a minimum of 2k hp every 5 seconds completely passive and uninterruptible (not including banner regen or dolyak runes)and yes they are weak to conditions but that only further exacerbates the horrible condition based meta we are experiencing.
i have played warrior plenty, i was one moaning for buffs, but the tankiness, more specifically the healing signet, is providing too much defense for such high offensive capabilities.
I play that build and I play it well but I still get killed 1v1 sometimes. Usually by someone equal or better than me and there are some builds which I can’t do a thing against. There is nothing OP about it, you just haven’t learned to counter it yet.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Roll a warrior, spec him to one of the various condition builds and try it out. Learn it’s strengths and weakness cause there are weaknesses to the build then go back to your other character and modify you build/playstyle. That’s what warriors have been doing all the other classes since last year when we became the fighting joke.

They said in the blog that T7 mats would be crafted from lower tier mats.

Hasn’t it been proven that F2P/Cashshop games generate more income that subs. More money for the Studio to put out more quality content. Whether they do it or not is entirely up to them. What P2P model does that F2P doesn’t is filter the community and discourage trolls from immigrating. Trolls won’t spend 15$ a month just to grief other players, they come to GW2 to do that. Personally, I’m don’t play sub games out of principle. I spent just as much money on the GW2 cash shop s I would have on anyway sub game but at least here is was voluntary not mandatory. I don’t like paying subscriptions but I will give money to support a game I like, just don’t want to be forced to do it.

If I were to Command as an Ele I would go with a tanky supportive staff build to keep my zerg alive and buffed.

I think sword is fine as a it is and definitely don`t want condition to be removed from it. That being said, the Axe could use a little love. It is only good for PvE where mobs just stand there and take the whole auto attack chain but against live players it isn’t very good anymore. Maybe if it had a chance to grant quickness for 3 secs on the second chop it would become a good Power weapon again.
