Indeed there are not enough in core maps. You will have to get the rest in the HoT maps. Also as mentioned above you can earn proof of heroics in WvW and use those to buy hero points.

Yes you can gift a game key if purchased from Anet or authorized retailers.

Once purchased all you have to do is send the unused/unregistered game key to your gift recipient. They can then use it to register their account.

The new client is native and will hopefully include much better performance for Mac users.

I noticed this as well and forgot to mention it. The sound seems much more robust.

Tried it so far on iMac and MacBook Pro. Only two different resolution choices each aside from windowed mode as apposed to more options with the old client. Also full screen gamma adjustments don’t change anything while in full screen. Loading screens are much, much slower than the 32bit client. A lot of jerkiness when moving the camera around. I didn’t notice much performance improvement when switching between mostly medium graphic settings and lowest as opposed to the 32bit client. I didn’t play long enough to see if things crashed.

Keep up the good work. I’ll look forward to trying it again as you include updates.

Yes it is cross server for the same region NA or EU.

Elementalists do not have weapon swap as an option. This is because they can swap between attunements instead.

Question in the title. Just curious what your thoughts are on this.

I’m not sure if it still applies but an old fix, years ago, when stuck with one file remaining involved switching language on the log in to, for example French, finish the download and switch back once done. As I said, that was an old fix but maybe it works now?

My guess with the recent leaks, if true, is that the expansion will sell with a pre-purchase bonus of a special mount skin. After HoT seemed to have let a lot of people down on original release they will have to do something like this to encourage people to pre-purchase. With the likelihood no new race or profession, a free character slot won’t do it. I’m guessing the cost of expansion 2 will also be a bit lower for people that already have core+HoT as well.

With apparently no plans to make more legendary armor, perhaps Anet could devise a way for people that don’t raid to earn/upgrade ascended armor already in game to legendary functionality without the cosmetics. So with a recipe of sorts people that want the functions of legendary armor, stat swapping and rune swapping, can earn it outside of raids. With this, no need to make new legendary armor for people that don’t raid and the people that do raid still have their fancy cosmetic armor to stand out from those that do not.

Just an idea and the upgrade to legendary functionality should still require a significant effort/cost. Of course it would take some work for Anet to figure out things like impact on the economy, like they stated was an issue with allowing legendary weapon sigil swapping, but it might be something they could look into. It seems like an interesting compromise to me.

Variety is good and many seem to like it so I don’t have a problem with it. I just won’t spend much time there myself. Thanks for map currency deposit feature.

We had originally intended that you should be able to change the sigils in the same way as runes for armor (so we had thought of it for everyone out there who thought we forgot ). However, when we started our economic impact analysis it became clear that we needed to do a deeper investigation to kitten potential risks we had not previously foreseen. ^ Just a note but it seems the Tickets for Review sticky has vanished. At least it no longer shows up for me.

If you create an account on GW2E with your API code it will show you the value of your material storage and such. Once set up follow the account link and you can see wallet, bank material storage etc and their current value.

Edit: GW2E is my favorite GW2 related site by far. It’s great for crafting complex items, finding things on your account if you forgot where you placed them via the search feature, and a lot of other helpful things. The people that put this site together have done a great job. Also don’t forget to enter their lottery, they give away a lot of stuff mostly once a month but this month is a daily Easter lottery.
