Guesses are either November 1st or November 8th. Those are the next two Tuesdays after October and Tuesdays are when Anet usually pushes updates. IMO if you are trying to plan play time for the end date, I’d expect the 1st of November just to be safe.

Only if you still have it on a character and it is considered town clothes. This applied when they made the changes to town clothes and such as part of the wardrobe system.

Players can visit a Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith) in any major city to have their town clothes converted to items compatible with the new wardrobe.

The link above lists what are considered town clothes. If you deleted it or left it on a character you deleted it will not work.

Because maybe a break would do you some good.

Take a break then if you can’t handle it. Suspending accounts because someone bought a gem store item would cause even more anger and rage than waiting for the fix. WvW will still be there when it’s fixed.

Also I have not had a problem since I set my animations to medium.

Why would they suspend people for wearing an outfit they purchased from the gem store? Yeah that wouldn’t cause a flood of complaints…. That’s ridiculous. Just take a break until it’s fixed or also try to change the animation settings as mentioned above.

I don’t use Twitter either but they often post news there when things like this happen.

Anet stated on Twitter that they are aware of a problem and are working on it.

I read this in the bug forum and it seemed to fix it for me. Before you login to your character try changing animation from low to medium if you have it set to low. I didn’t test it much but so far it has worked for me.

Same error here on my Macbook Pro. It was working fine yesterday.

Then you need to submit a support ticket and ask if they will change it. However, by email address I think Anet means a full email address like XXXXXXX.gmail.com. Again though you will have to contact support if you think you meet the criteria for a display name change.

From the last link above that explains that display name changes can cause problems.

Long story short is that display names weren’t designed in a way that allows them to be changed without causing a potential (and significant) batch of problems on the account so we (support) only do them when we reeeeally need to.

The thing with things like boats and airships in my opinion is that the novelty will wear off. It might be cool to take the boat or whatever a few times, take some screen shots and enjoy the ride, but after that it gets old and is a slow method of travel. Once the novelty has worn off people will just take waypoints as usual because it is much faster.

So it seems to me like a lot of work to put something in game that after a short amount of time most people will not use.

It doesn’t show your lifetime gem store purchase history (or gem store purchase history at all), as in every item you have ever purchased from the gem store, which is what the OP was asking about.

I think some items that are no longer available just can’t be replaced for some kind of technical reason. I had a similar situation with a pair of glasses I purchased when I first started playing and must of left on a character I deleted. Some months ago I asked support if they could help me out and they said something like because it no longer in the gem store their tools will not allow them replace it.

You can always update your ticket and ask for further explanation if you want. Just reply to their last response to you to update it.

You can type /bug to open the bug report panel in game. Or as IC stated the gear icon in the upper left of the screen then select support.

No, you have to be in game to buy and sell on the TP. There are sites using the API that allow you to monitor your TP activity but it isn’t possible to sell or buy using them.

Considering the restrictions on free to play accounts I don’t think you will be able to. You can send items to them but you won’t be able to send them back from the free account. F2P accounts can’t send gold or items in mail or use guild banks.

Yep, a good example was when the in game mail scam was at its peak. The sticky about it in many cases was right above the normal threads and people still posted asking about it.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that thinks things could be cleaned up a bit. I know it isn’t a huge deal but forums with tons of sticky threads have always bugged me, especially when many of them are not that relevant anymore. Hopefully Anet forum staff will take a look and consider some of these ideas to clean things up a bit.

I’m just throwing this out there for ideas and feedback. Currently the GW2 Discussion forum has 11 sticky threads. This accounts for just over 1/3 of the threads on the page. I don’t know about others but I tend to just scroll past the sticky threads without much attention to them as they have been there for so long. Additionally this pushes a lot of more fresh topics to later pages on the forum.

Looking for feedback from others, are there threads that others think could be removed from sticky status? Personally I think some that could be removed as a sticky or maybe just linked under one sticky thread like in the account forum are, “Policy on LFG Tool”, “Alert: In-Game Mail Scams”, “Policy: 3rd-Party Programs; Multi-Boxing; Macros”, and “Searching the Forums”. Like I said maybe those I listed could be linked under one sticky with a title something like, “Anet Policy and Notices Sticky Threads”.

It just seems to me that sticky threads are rapidly taking up more and more space so I thought I would bring this up for feedback and ideas.

I’ll pitch in on this thread, as there seems to be some confusion about this situation.

The auto-cast feature was never intended to be used as an AFK farming mechanism, and usage of the auto-cast feature while AFK is fine as long as it is not used to facilitate unattended gameplay.

Mastery auto-loot also stopping players from being flagged afk seems like a bug instead of a feature, and I’ll be sure to bring it up today while we have a chat about this internally.

1) Using skill (1 or more) while AFK
2) AFKing in a place where it is beneficial for your character to be at
3) Unresponsive to interaction with GMs

If all 3 of these apply to what you are doing, you may get actioned for it.

It is a bug that has affected some people. Submit a support ticket, the link is at the top of the page, and support should help you correct it.

Many countries use a comma for a decimal mark instead of a dot, so yes I’m guessing that is what they mean.

Perhaps adding a text field to the report feature would be handy. Something like, “Reason for your report. This is optional.” That way when someone reports something that may not exactly match the limited report choices they can explain why.

I don’t think it is things like early access the OP is talking about. Let’s look at it like this.

Say there is a game, we’ll call it Not New World produced by Not Amazon Gaming. You start making videos about the game or streaming on Twitch talking about how awesome the game is. Because you provide a lot of online content you are invited to be a content partner and by doing so Not Amazon Gaming gives you a special link to use. Every time someone follows that link and buys Not New World you get $5.

Not New World releases an expansion and as a content creator with a lot of followers maybe you really don’t like it for the most part. What are you going to do? If you talk about how bad it is and why you don’t like it, you won’t generate sales from referrals. However, if you highlight the few good things you found in it, add a bit of hype, and maybe talk about how much potential it has you may generate sales.

So you are either going to hinder your potential revenue through referrals by being honest or your going to try to spin it in the best way possible to continue to earn referrals.

I think this is the main thing the OP is looking for. Content creators that may not be biased by potential revenue. I’m not saying that all the GW2 partners are biased based only on referral revenue but you have to look at it honestly. Most of the top gaming streamers/Youtubers/content creators are not doing it just for fun or to be nice. They are making money off their efforts which affords them the time to make all those videos, guides etc. That of course will come with a bit of bias. I can’t blame them for that because who doesn’t like making money off their efforts? It’s business after all. It’s just that a lot of their viewers don’t even notice it because they don’t know what a referral code looks like or what it means.

I guess it depends on how you consider being paid. Many on the list Jon provided (if not all, I didn’t check every one) if you look at their YouTube videos and Twitch channels have links to buy the game that include referral codes. It is something Healix pointed out early in this thread.

The way that works is they earn a small amount if someone follows the link with the code and buys the game. I think perhaps this is one thing the OP was considering as content providers earning a referral off of sales may have a bit of an agenda. Maybe not all the time but I can see where that would factor into their content if they are trying to generate sales.

So if you look at it like a lot of sales and marketing jobs they are being paid on commission by Anet. Just my 2 cents.

I use GW2 Efficiency. If you are logged in with your API key set up it will tell you what items you have for the legendary or any item you are crafting when you select the “Use Own Materials” option . It also tells you what you still need.

My guess is with the things Anet keeps adding for the home instance like nodes and cats that is going to be their version of housing. I could be wrong but that is what it seems like so far.

You can do some guild missions like Guild Bounty and some PvP ones to earn favor from the start. I wasn’t sure so I checked my personal bank guild and they are unlocked. Just go to the guild mission panel and select for example “Guild Bounty” and launch it. It shows the ones you have unlocked. As you earn more favor you can unlock more guild missions.

I belive that is possible for game to differenciate types of disconnect.

So this idea has camed to me after I saw gold farmers who were abusing AFK system by using pets. So I suggest that time of being AFK before disconnection should be shorten or punishment should be taken upon people who were disconnected for example no more than 3 disconnects from being AFK (not disconnect because of weak internet connection issues) and account suspension for next 24h.

You can report the people that are AFK farming if you think they are abusing it. Here is an Anet response on how they will handle that situation.

There is no need to start suspending people that are honestly AFKing.

Note the mastery points related to the core personal story, marked as “Hero” can only be done once per account (just like all mastery points). For example if you do one of the options for “A Friend Indeed” you can’t do it again on another character selecting a different option and get an additional mastery point. I mention that as it has confused a few people.

I just bought a new Macbook Pro Retina to replace my old one and updated it to Sierra. GW2 runs on it.

You don’t have to complete the core game personal story to start the HoT story line. Just open your story journal from your hero panel and select the Heart of Thorns story. You will start the story in the Silversastes and then continue on to the HoT maps.

Rising Flames is episode 2 of living world season 3. All you have to do is log in when an episode is active and before the next one and it unlocks for free.
