Given you can change your account name by contacting support for free. That seems like a total scam to get people to buy gems that don’t know any better.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-1-2017/
We have added a Gem Store item that will allow you to change your account name for the low, low price of 2,000 gems. There is no limit on the number of purchases.

You will need to submit a support ticket and ask if they will restore your character. The support link is at the top of the page.
They have been doing AMAs on Reddit after a new living story release or other significant release. However, after the last balance patch they had a thread here in general discussion. So look for an AMA on Reddit after the next story release I suppose.
HoT Deluxe has never been advertised as having those items. The image I attached above shows what has always been advertised with HoT Deluxe with the only difference being they also added the Max Level Boost when that was released later on. Perhaps you saw some reference to the core Deluxe upgrade available in the gem store and that is what has caused the confusion?
Did you buy the old core GW2 Deluxe from a 3rd party (Anet doesn’t sell it directly anymore aside from a gem store upgrade) or the HoT Deluxe version? The HoT version does not include those items but the core Deluxe version did.
The below image shows what HoT Deluxe includes:

You should certainly submit a support ticket and ask them what options you have if you want a refund. If you submit a chargeback through your credit card your account will most likely be permanently banned.

I think with the bug they disabled them both. I imagine it would cause more problems if people started putting things in the shared inventory slot when they did enable the 80 boost. The 80 boost goes in that slot and can’t be removed until used.
Temporarily disabled due to a bug.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Level-80-boost-item-temporarily-disabled/
World boss chests are once per boss a day.
Yes, with a legendary stats can be changed instantly and with no material cost while out of combat where ascended weapons and armor must be changed via the mystic forge and at the cost of materials. Please see my edited post above if you didn’t catch it, I explained bit more.
Legendary and ascended have the same stat levels. The difference is legendary stats can be changed on demand and have what many consider more prestigious skins and effects. Ascended weapons and armor can also have their stats changed but you have to do it through the mystic forge each time which costs materials, loss of upgrades (if not removed at a cost of expensive upgrade extractors), and can’t be changed on the fly like legendary can.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Anthology_of_Heroes
You can’t change stats on ascended back items though since that is what you mentioned you are interested in. Once purchased you will get a one time choice of the stats you want.
Legendary items are currently considered “top tier” not so much because of their stats which as mentioned are the same as ascended, but because of the skins and on demand stat swapping.

You can submit a support ticket using your current email and request they change it. You will have to provide the necessary information to prove you own the account but then support should be able to change your account email to the active one.
It’s supposed to be an annual April festival now. So look for it around then.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Did you either purchase the Episode, or log into the game while it was active a year and a half ago?
No to both. Haven`t found any means to purchase the episode. Would like to :/
You purchase living story episodes you missed/didn’t log in for via the gem store in game.
Here is what Michael Henninger stated on Reddit just for some clarification on what IC was talking about:
Now, since we’re all here, this is a great time to talk about our naming policy and the recent changes in how support enforces it.
In the past; our team was very strict about what we’d allow. As an example we’d censored Girthquake Clamhammer. I love that name; personally. Funny as hell.
Poopy Cat Butt? Censored – too filthy. I Eat Farts? Eww, no.Now? We’ll allow those. Did I mention funny as hell?
As my boss put it once -
“If dude wants to be known as cat poop that’s his problem; not mine”.
And that’s our philosophy now. This change has been evolving over the past few months as we get feedback on what the community does/doesn’t want to see in game. Essentially; if your name doesn’t express hate and doesn’t violate our game-rating we’re probably gonna let it live on. This includes deity names. Going forward you’re probably going to see Jesus Christ, God, and Allah running around Tyria.
Also; any bets on how fast someone claims the name “Cat Poop”?
*Edit – Diety to Deity; cause that’s a different discussion.
Anyway, I’m guessing the OP managed to submit a support ticket and has discussed or is discussing it with support to let them sort out and make a decision.

There are many sources of EF’s and they are not hard to get at all.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Empyreal_Fragment#Acquisition
thanks guys.
i am currently maining a ranger and I really love his playstyle (pet tank..while i dps)
i am just worried whether gw2 will remove this boost if i dont use it for a long time.
that is the only reason for which i want to use it asap
The boost is not time limited. Take your time and use it when ready.
That isn’t possible. To unlock a skin you have to equip the item (or salvage, destroy it or mystic forge it), and by doing so it would then be bound to your account. You would not be able to return it to the owner.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Personally I think you should level at least 1 character to 80 normally so you can learn key parts of game play. That said, you can test any profession you want with the 80 boost without committing to it.
Here is Anet’s tutorial on how to use the boost you may want to review before testing/using it:
Buy gems then something from gem shop.
Ecto gambling only if you want that portable vendor to sell trash.
Wait, portable vendor? xD
How do i get it?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tarrktun_Personal_Delivery_Portal
probably worth throwing four bits into the mystic forge, to get a different random, but salvagable, exotic armor from it. might hold the last two until you get a couple of other exotics, or some karma ones or whatevs….
The gear from the L80 boost can’t be mystic forged.
There is some web page bug for some people where they get an error page trying to access the support page from the forum but it works from other pages. If that is what is happening in your case here is the direct link to submit a ticket if that helps:

No problem at all. I play on different computers all the time. You’ll probably be asked to authenticate again on a different computer and that’s about it.
Anet wants you to buy the more upgraded ones.
Actually, it’s much more likely that ANet doesn’t want to do any work on already existing areas. For example, one or more Terrace NPCs consistently goes AFK during festivals that take place in DR. Not adding any of the NPCs available in the newer premium areas is consistent.
Well they added the Aesthetician NPC to the Royal Terrace, which helps sell makeover kits, so explain that if they don’t want to work on already existing areas. To me it seems they did work on an exiting area because they added that NPC long after the Terrace was created.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Anet wants you to buy the more upgraded ones. I only have the Royal Terrace pass and have not been pleased to see some of the ones added since include more things. For example the Airship pass has the activity NPC and the Royal Terrace pass does not. I refuse to buy the other ones based on that. It’s like the Watchwork mining pick just not talked about as much because it is only NPCs that can be accessed elsewhere.
“Hey thanks for buying this pass and supporting the game. Just to let you know we have a new one you can buy with more access to other things not available in your current pass and will make the one you bought less useful. So please buy it.” Thanks but no because who knows what extra things the next pass will include that the one I bought doesn’t have.
In my opinion the passes should all work like the infinite tools in that they are a “cosmetic” choice and all should offer the same services.

That does seem rather odd. I hope it was a mistake. Otherwise it seems weird to sell an item for 250 gems that unlocks one dye that can be purchased for around 2 gold max. If not it seems like a gem store item that was made to take advantage of players that don’t know they can buy a dye from that set off the TP for just a few gold or less. Maybe the idea was that it has some value as a gift gem store item to allow the gift recipient to select a dye from ones they don’t already have, but even then it is still way over priced in my opinion.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
For PvP you can use the elite spec without having to earn hero points. You just select it in the third trait line while in PvP. However, in PvE or WvW you won’t have access to it unless you unlock it with hero points. If you like WvW as well you can earn proofs of heroics that can be used to earn random hero points in either core maps or HoT maps.

I’ll be very honest, I have no idea what any of the story or lore is really. I just play for action and fun. Here is what I know of the story. I started playing, skipped through all the story cut scenes I could during the personal story, killed a bunch of mobs, moved on killed more mobs until I guess I killed some dragon. Moving on LS2 I completely forget what I did aside from finishing it. To HoT same thing but killed another dragon I think, and LS3 I think I saved a baby dragon or something like that at one point. I just skip past what I can and ignore the dialog I can’t skip while I check my email or read the forums until I can move on to more action. That’s just me though. Maybe I’ve not done my self a favor by not following any of it.
That said, there are a lot of people that seem to love the story and lore so I’m glad it is there for them.

Once you have decided on a clear direction for your guild there are a few ways to find new members. You can ask players that you interact positively with in game if they are interested especially if they seem like they would fit in well with your guild objectives. Those are the players that are more likely to want to join and become good guild members. So in other words be social in game and try to find like minded players.
You can also post in the Looking For Forum with a good description of your guild and its mission. You can find that forum here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
Although you may be tempted based on the the behavior of others, I would not suggest map spamming guild invites. I say this because in my opinion it is rather impersonal and I think a lot of people don’t care for it. Maybe once every now and then but don’t do it regularly. I tend to think of guilds that map spam as those just looking for numbers without really caring who joins and I just ignore them or block them if they do it too often. Just my 2 cents.
Additionally if you are certain you are dedicated to starting a guild you may want to set up a guild web page that will allow you to do things like post a guild calendar of events, message board and so forth. There are several resources that will allow you to do this at no cost or very little cost. With that you will probably want to look into having a guild voice server so your guild members can talk live while participating. These are all pluses a lot of people look for when joining a guild.

The link above doesn’t include a comment from a developer.
I understand the concept; I don’t see where ANet suggested that they are actually working on it. Accordingly, there’s nothing to update.
It was transcribed from a livestream from the best I can tell. You have to view the OP which was from Dulfy:
They are working on a way for people to unlock a recipe to craft a naked legendary that allow you to select stats.
I have not watched the actual video to verify but since Dulfy posted it I’m guessing a dev said it in the video.

You can always submit a support ticket and ask as only support can decide if you qualify for a display name change or not.
However, here is a collection of posts from Anet about display names and why it is not likely to be changed unless it meets strict criteria.
Anet usually only offers display name changes in the event the display name compromises your privacy, (example using real name or email address), or if the name violates the GW2 naming policy. The links below go to posts from Anet staff regarding this issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Name-Questions-Please-read-merged/first#post2087181

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Name-Questions-Please-read-merged/page/4#post5498462
From the last link above that explains that display name changes can cause problems.
Long story short is that display names weren’t designed in a way that allows them to be changed without causing a potential (and significant) batch of problems on the account so we (support) only do them when we reeeeally need to.
The gear that comes with the L80 boost does not include being able to select stats. You just get what they give you and that’s the way it works.

Most classes receive a set of Soldier’s gear. Necromancers receive Rabid and Thieves get Valkyrie.

Yes free play can join friends in core content. There are some level requirements to access some parts of the game though. Here are the differences in account types including free to play restrictions.

Update from today’s AMA:
Native Mac Update:
It generally runs and patches
It hitches a bunch, which we are tracking down
We still have more internal build system plumbing to do before we release a version for people to play with.
This thread may be of interest. There are posts by Tidgepot who is a dev but not marked as one explaining why it would be difficult and not likely to be able to dye back items.
You have to submit a support ticket to change the email for your account. The support link is located at the top of the page.
Yes, as stated above all account data is kept the same. You can switch between them with no problem at all. I play on both Mac and PC version via Bootcamp so I can confirm this will not be a problem and honestly playing via Bootcamp is a huge performance upgrade so I suggest it. You will not lose any progress on your account.

Anet has stated that those, including myself, that have multiple copper feds got their use from them prior to shared inventory slots. That said, I’d be happy if they came up with a way to make them into a mini or a guild hall decoration.
It is known that Anet is working on another expansion. Living story 3 has been produced and is in progress that will fill in until the expansion.

Log in and start playing. Maybe start with doing any story stuff you have unlocked and not completed.
When they introduced precursor crafting it was stated you can only craft one.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/
This crafting system is an account-based activity, which means you’ll only be able to craft each precursor this way once. However, all of the currently existing precursor acquisition methods will remain intact in addition to this new acquisition method. That means that if you want a particular precursor more than once, you’ll have to fall back to the original methods of acquisition.
Race doesn’t really matter that much. Pick what you want. The only thing that really is affected by race aside from appearance, some of the personal story and starting area is some elite racial skills that really are not very useful in my opinion.
I think I should get a daily reward for not logging in. And interest on my bank savings. That would save me loads of time in the long run.
I agree I should be able to earn say 2 percent interest on the gold in my account compounded daily just for having an account. I’d agree in exchange to sign up for a gem store news letter that I will be certain to mark as spam and never read.
