you end up using krait runes and agony sigil, you lose not only bonuses from berserker runes but also 30% burning/torment/poison duration. i haven’t tried it but by intuition i predict it wouldn’t be worth it, especially when you have to wear different armor and weapons just for night time fractals
Ya I should have specified that it’s only real use is wvw where extending conditions beyond 5 seconds is pointless. I wouldn’t run this food in pve even in night time only instances.

I dunno, we do poop all damage. There are about zero builds I can kill as a full glass ascended berserker druid in WvW if they are running something like soldiers. Most people can just out-regen the damage we do. Thief is the only class I know for sure I can kill and now they’ve got ghost thieves running around
In my experience that has been more about hard defenses rather than damage reduction. More power won’t help against projectile hate or improve the poorly power scaling 10k staff laserbeam. But it would dump more raw stat on the pet.

Even though the cost for them are still pretty high, with the exception of one spvp season which they fixed.
People are not in a “frenzy” over it, wvw is the only game mode left that doesn’t have it and one thread in here about it isn’t a frenzy, frenzied talk right now is ghost thieves. I’m not one who begged for them either, I don’t think they should have it, but I don’t think it’s too much asking for equal consideration for wvw now.
Your personal opinion of how easy it is to get, is no reason why wvw shouldn’t get ascended vendors, sorry it isn’t, especially when one other game mode that has absolutely no use for it, gets it, and is being used as a prize to draw pve players in there, which btw wvw could also use.
You may think it’s wrong to have those vendors, but it doesn’t matter, Anet has put them in, they think it’s fine and went in that direction for access. They have the power to change the cost and time needed to get them, which they’ve already shown to do. Thinking that the cost is going to be a problem because “badges” is not a legitimate concern unless it does actually happen, but we see how they operate, how much they love to add another currency to earn something, crafting will now also been included I’m sure.
People put in the time to play their favorite game mode from fractal, raids, spvp, they get the chance to earn the top gear in the game, one mode has a higher drop rate, one other has no use for them but gets a vendor, so why should wvw not get one?
I’m asking for all game modes to be treated fairly, wvw is always last in consideration for everything. You’re going to into elitist territory in wanting to hold it back from wvw now.
And yet you still cannot give a reason on how it will improve access to ascended gear when both the existing method and a vendor will require ~the same amounts of crafting.
Most of the “problems” are in the players’ heads. Just like the stigma with desert borderland, it doesn’t matter how much anet improves it, it will always be called trash and shunned.
The most legit reason I can think of to call underwater combat bad is how the camera clips with the water surface.

Wvw has exotic vendors like dungeons.
We are not talking about trinkets, that’s available to everyone from the laurel vendors and guild vendors, and the rings are the most common drops of ascended.
Just because you don’t think it would be an amazing addition to wvw does not mean it should not exist, yet that same argument can be applied to spvp but they now have drops and a vendor.
Obviously badges should not be used as pricing, I don’t think anet is that stupid, they would come up with a new currency for it I’m sure. They just overhauled the pricing for fractals and spvp to add crafting, so they have an idea where they want the pricing for those items. Did you complain about the low prices of ascended gear from spvp last season? because they sure as hell were even more unreasonable low compared to even wanting to charge just badges.
Pretty sure there’s a chance to get ascended drops from anywhere in the game, at a low percentage, with fractals seemingly having a higher drop rate than everywhere else, which is fine considering you do you need the infusion slots for later levels of fractals. I have like 20 garbage rings sitting on my alt that I got as drops from fractals and wvw, most of it from wvw as that is where I spend most of my time.
Ascended doesn’t rain from rank up boxes as only you seem to think, and even then a good percentage of those drops are rings, someone would have to shove those rings up their hoohoo to get lucky enough for a full set of gear in a decent amount of time.
I have about 5500 hrs of playtime, 1870 ranks on my main, near 500 more on other accounts, and never gotten enough ascended to make a full set, even mix match pieces because there’s also 3 types of armor levels. I have also gotten more weapon drops than gear pieces, including teq’s cache. The one gear set I do have I had to craft it, because after 4 years of wvw I sure as hell wasn’t going to be able to collect all 6 light pieces from drops.

Rings can get 3 infusion slots alone, it’s not hard to start up fractals. You can now buy ascended gear in three areas, fractals, raids, spvp (the area you don’t even need it). So why shouldn’t wvw get a vendor too? Have yet to hear a good reason why.

Wvw is under pve gearing, doesn’t have a vendor and has the worse drop rate. You’re the only I’ve seen claiming wvw has the best drop rates when for years, YEARS, players have been saying fractals drop rate is much higher.

WvW does have gear vendors. It even has ascended trinket vendors aswell.

I think many people are of the mind it will be just dump badges/heroic proofs/a few gold and you pickup shiny new ascended armor and weapons, easy. There is no way they are going to implement it like that.

I’m not an expert on spvp rank-up loot but does it have an rng chance to give ascended gear? That is kind of what I was basing my wvw /= pve comment as wvw rank-up can give ascended weapons and armor.

Even I’ve been having success in 1vX encounters with axe/focus, greatsword aganst the average wvw player. And my build is not even for roaming, it’s for 5-20 team play.

People want wvw ascended vendors for some reason beyond me. It already has the best/cheapest ascended armor/weapon acquire method atm. If it does come it will just be the same as the spvp version which will still require 500 crafting.
How exacly does wvw have the best/cheapest way of acquiring ascended? Because boxes can drop?
I play wvw several hours each day and have over 300% base MF, and I got just 5 ascended boxes in the whole of last year. Not even one complete set in a year. Gee, really efficient. I have to craft it? With food and siege expenses I make maybe 5-10g in an evening. It would take me months to fully gear a character in wvw.
Meanwhile ascended drops like candy in fractals and is handed out for free in pvp. How exactly is it easy to get ascended in wvw? Teach me, senpai!

Fractals do not drop ascended gear like candy… And hello…Ascended is required there. And no it is not free in spvp anymore. Ascended gear boxes may be RNG in wvw but it’s free and so long as you play the mode they will drop. It might not feel like it at times but they do come.
I don’t get what is so hard about getting ascended gear in wvw…Just play wvw, boom done easy.
Easy fix: gotta do 5%+ damage to a gate or wall. Its fast enough so a legitimate group trying to actually take something won’t be punished by people using the WP, yet it will stop the trolls from just killing a guard to contest the keep.

Staff isn’t really a primary weapon, mostly it’s used as swap.
With any power rev it’s going to be devastation, invocation and herald.
There really isn’t a place from citadel that no fall dmg would stream line.

If you are not willing to learn how to small scale fight to some degree there probably is not a reason to be in wvw when there is no tag.
Even just taking sentries and killing yaks will often lead to you getting into a fight with other players as those items are on well traveled locations for the most part. Or even competing with the 3rd faction roamers.
The best players ingame. You won’t find better gameplay in guild wars 2. Watch if you want to learn how to survive this current meta. Rainbows, sunshine and fields of flowers.

100% agree ~ Nec got ALOT of sustain with blighters boon. You can easily outsustain engis or druids which is pretty ridiculous
If you guys are talking about PvP then I agree. Blighters boon works pretty well there where there can be 1 or multiple targets in a small circle that allows you to shroud 1 easily.
If you guys are referring to WvW where its pretty much open space with no need to hold a point, meaning enemies kite you to death, then I really wonder if we are playing the same game.
Perhaps we are facing different WvW servers and the level of opponents we are facing are different.
I’m going to be real with you. There is just not a reason to solo roam on reaper. It brings nothing to that type of play. I mean I could go solo roam on a reaper and win 1v1 against average players and maybe 1v2 against sub-average players but what is the point when I can do that better on various other classes? Pick the class for the role not pick a class and shoehorn it into a role it is unfitting for.
I use hammer/staff in all play as full zerker glint/shiro.
But my staff is magi with sigil of renewal and cleansing. So when I need to I swap to staff and hit 4 to heal and purge.
Your problem is that hammer is garbage without shiro in my opinion. You would almost be better off with staff swap.

It’s wired that once again there is the removal of necessary precision from condition builds with the sigil of earth change, just like it was removed from sharpened edges. What’s even worse is this also directly nerfs druid staff trait Primal Echoes because the on swap sigils don’t produce a strike. More pigeonhole into Druidic Clarity.

I (still) really wish they wouldn’t add any more recipes for converting stats and just eliminate the breather as a piece of armor. We still don’t need it to breathe underwater.
For now, I just stick with an exotic with non-matching stats. That works perfectly fine everywhere I play (including fractals and WvW) and I can recover the rune, too. It’s still a waste, just a 100g cheaper one.

There is no point in wanting them removed now and I think most people would vote to keep them meerly because many have them already.
The reason people mix in Valk gear instead of going full zerker is because of crit chance overflow as much as they do for survivability.

Black, that a excellent suggestion about the builds. I also like the staff i can see why every necro has one ^^
Only use enough celestial to meet your toughness/vitality needs. I wouldn’t go over 300/300 which ~half your gearing. Just 3power stats and vita/toughness is like 50 points short of tri-stat. Since reaper can use condi too it goes over that mark.
It might be more practical to add a box that when opened allows you to choose an exotic inscription or insignia. The other items are easy to get (5 ecto and anthology of heros) from within wvw. They would probably want to price it steep to prevent pve material prices from crashing though. Probably 200 heroic things, 200 badges and 2g. Could probably also add infusion extractors into provisioner.
If they really want to keep the extra step for armor and weapons I can live with that.
The 5 ecto/anthology doesn’t do anything for accessories though, and I swear it feels like the same 4 rings drop over and over again with zero chance of getting anything else. It would be nice to be able to turn a few of those red rings of death into something like marauder or commander rings.Well for trinkets just get new ones with reward tracks.
The reward tracks on their own don’t really cut it. They don’t provide enough unbound magic. To get enough for just a back piece you need to complete the reward track something like 15 times. Your talking months for a full set, and then if a balance patch comes along that nerfs your build you are just sol.
This change would bring back the freedom to experiment with different builds. Remember how nice it was when they finally allowed us to swap stats on weapons and armor? You could finally convert all that random magi kitten to something useful.
How nice would it be to go thorough your storage and change all those duplicate rings and amulets to something else so you could experiment with new builds on a whim?You can get more magic by consuming any excess map materials.
So it’s slightly faster, maybe something like 10 tracks for a back piece. That still comes out to months for a full set unless you have no job/no life, and still doesn’t change the fact that at the very next balance patch all that work can be made useless.
