Mostly curious about the condition removal and wiki doesn’t have much on how it functions.

Does it pulse condition removal on 3 allies 10x or is it just once on activation?

I’m not a raid player but if more mobs had boons in general pve then the necromancer/reaper would be pretty amazing.

Maybe they should consider that going forward,

Reduced hp/toughness → protection
Less breakbar → stability/resistance
Reduced damage → might/quickness

That sort of thing in a balanced way.

I could make a vid demonstrating why their KDR is so high but does anyone want to see spawn camping and 2XvX ratio 1push fights with zero pushing of equal numbers and lots of chokepoint condi aoe spam? Or small scale where they will happily 2v1 but are just as likely to run from a 1v1 as yb? 6v6, after 2 wipes they hide in tower and stare at us cataing only to build a treb lols.

But ya this totally not going to be a matchup thread.

A case can be made for this kind of scenario with any server, considering i have played on like 90% of the servers /shrug.

I would accept that excuse for any server that doesn’t brag about how amazing they are and identifies themselves as “we just want fights”.

IF they do extensive tengu model work and IF they do a cantha expansion there may be room for a tengu playable race whose personal story starts off there. It always comes back to voice acting though.

Couldn’t they do it so the voice acting for multiple tengu outside of the ones in dominion to only have major voice acting needed for the what is it now used to be levels 1-15 then you were joining one of the orders. Why not cut it down to that then the gates open obviously most are stuck in their ways and will stay in Dominion so they wont have to do extensive voice acting beyond that mainly only for your character. I mean there are ways to cut corners rather than to bring the whole game around them and their people.

I’m thinking all the current living story, HoT, dungeons, raids and every other instance of voice acting already ingame that I cannot think of. Its a lot of back work. Just saying “read the text” for anything before tengu introduction is just sloppy and not anet.

My guild runs these missions with players using aoe super speed untill we can slot super speed yaks into camps. But we also play ocx. I’m not sure it’s practical to run some of these missions without 10 players on a super active map unless you have commanders willing to defend the camps.

So ya pretty much you need to stack super speed in your group and defend the camps, yes plural.

Every spawn has 3 exits, youre only getting marked when going the middle way.

Very not true. I know for a fact you will always get marked going to Danelon from Blue Spawn if Langor has a watchtower. I would assume there are more, I know Bravost “woods” area will mark you unless you cut up the first switchback near the drakes.

No youre not, just pass by Quentin Lake. Also this is about leaving spawn, not heading camps. EB is a different matter. OPs problem are prolly watchtowers on a servers home borderland. As invader you have 3 entrances on ABL.

First of all, the op was talking about EBG spawn towers.

Second of all I’m sure grimjack is talking about going to danelon from blue spawn through langor, in which case you would be marked going around that tower as you’re right below it you don’t have a choice there. Not to mention that guard if it’s the enemies would detect you as well. That side isn’t the best way to go to avoid detection anyways.

The problem is the watchtower area of detection is obviously too wide. Hell NET in alpines use to detect enemies down on the road to NEC. This is a problem that they probably can’t fix since towers have different sizes and heights, unless they figure out the largest one that needs covering and adjust the area for that. The area of detection really just needs to be just beyond the walls, not a kitten mile away from it.

I don’t mind the Alpine ones even before the NET watchtower was culled. So long as there is a legit way to get into camps unmarked I think they are ok atm.

On reflection,
The one spawn in ebg that is ever in danger of truely being 100% boxed in by spawn campers is green. Red and blue can be but it’s unlikely because of east exit on blue and west exit on red.

I haven’t seen this yet but blue spawn is kind of boxed in with Lang sentry. Thankfully it does have the east exit.

With watch towers you can effectively box in a small number of people with a small number of people if you have fast thieves and mesmers. But this is so unlikely to happen and is unnecessary.

Spawn Camping makes me LoL. Even after all these years people still forget there’s 3 ways out of spawn. Use the other 2 when the most obvious way out is being camped.

That’s a fair thing to say and yet,
Avoiding an easily accessible fight is looked down upon and results in spawn camping.

There is little to be gained from using another exit out of spawn unless a server likes avoiding fights to back cap stuff. If the server could take a fight in the first place they wouldn’t be shoved all the way back into spawn.

This is the result of players stacking a server/intentionally tanking. I’m no spvp expert but I cannot recall people intentionally tanking their rating to farm lower ranked players. Food for thought for servers claiming to just want fights to compete against.

Even if they do revert the change I wont go back to condi longbow.

They have no idea what they are doing with ranger bleeds as demonstrated by the 4th buff to sharpening stone in 6 months that still hasn’t addressed the base issue of it. The 50% nerf for sharpened edges happened in the same update as the introduction of that abomination bleed reaper.

In spvp there is talk of nerfing sigil of earth and geomancy aswell. There is too strong a threat that some of those changes will spill over into the pve/wvw side of the game.

Some downed skills are super annoying like the mist from the elementalist, that skill shouldn’t allow the players go thru doors or at least have longer activation time.

Other than that the only thing i see in the video is a lolhammer rev being carried by the class that is absolutely incapable of stomping downed players.

The skills and downed duration are fine. Some teaks maybe needed but if you are incapable of finishing a downed player you don’t deserve the win. As simple as that.

A bunker druid calling a glass hammer rev carried is just sad.

10 is a bit much. At best 5, but I feel that an aura that reduce toughness by 150 might be just what’s needed. It wouldn’t be to much and let’s face it nobody really care about vuln output since there is barely any profession that can’t maintain a decent amount of that. In a party, If you say : “I can sustain 25 vuln!” people with just laugh you off because they don’t need anyone to maintain the 25 vuln anyway.

But if reaper was the only one that could break the 25 cap they would have their special buff.

Armor to get for a new player's WvW build?

If you are asking where to get starting armor go to any wvw map spawn.

There are npcs that trade armor/trinkets/weapons for badges and gold. It will take a little time to get enough badges but you can also get karma gear there too I think?

You can get most core stats for weapons and armor but I think the trinkets only come as soldier (power/toughness/vita).

Also make sure you have a reward track selected. Triumphant Armor Reward track will give you guaranteed exotic armor box.

Trading Post stuff,

If you cannot afford strength rune set right away it’s fine,
Rune of the fire
Or
Rune of Hoelbrak (starting out food get loaf of saffron bread and stack with this rune set)
For starting out as they cheap and comparable.
Superior sigil of force is expensive so just start with the major version. It’s weak but it doesn’t matter starting out.

What many…nvm, what everyone fails to notice is that stories of necro being an easy class are royal bs. Necro may be easy to pick up, but he’s hard to build and he’s hard to master. While not filled with gimmics like clones, time manipulation or gazillion kits, necro’s skillset is closest to a swiss knife setup with each skill being a tool for certain situation, but none of them for all. When a necro makes a build he must make some tough calls and his general playstyle (save fear spammers) is about countering what your enemy is doing and planning your defenses well. As with any counter-class this requires keeping your cool and knowledge of enemy, therefore often resulting in “necro sucks” experience unless you’re willing to take the dive.

Because it is difficult to hit with marks while wearing dire/trailblazer with deathly chill slotted.

If you’re dying to that then that speaks a lot more about you then necros.

Thieves will dodge, eles cleanse it off in 0.2s from getting condies. Guards might get victimized, until they decide to pop one of their hundred heals and yet another stunbreak. Rest has enough hp to simply not die from something like that.

I think it would be cool if elementalist got an accumulating debuff while camping an attunement that improved their skills. For an elite spec anyhow.

Stacks clear on attunement swap,

Every second while attuned to fire you gain a stacking debuff that causes self burning but also causes burn to scale from power aswell as condition damage. All fire skills have burning now.

Every second while attuned to earth you gain a stacking debuff that slows your movement speed but also reduces damage taken by +x%.

Every second while attuned to air you gain a stacking debuff that increases all dmg you take but gives the damage you deal +x% splash damage.

Every second while attuned to water you gain a stacking debuff that reduces healing you receive but increases all out going healing by +x%.

Stealth gank thiefs should be happy, now all they need to do is keep ganking and in a couple of minutes they will win the fight as the enemy will run out of res signets whilst not being able to target the thiefs or down them.

Will scale up nicely- if you are defeating greater numbers then it might take you a little longer but your superior skills should win out.

In the meantime, remove all stealth finishing.

This thread is NOT about removing downed state.

You stated your preference for changes to downed state. I’ve stated mine, as I think yours isn’t practical and does nothing to improve gameplay.

In fact, changing the duration would only help gankers, stealth users and other low lifes, as it would promote 3-5 thief stealth teams instantly downing players from stealth without having any sort of counter, making the game even less enjoyable.

What are you even talking about? I didn’t say remove downed state. 3-5 stealth gankers can already cleave a single person to death in a couple seconds meerly because nobody sees them before it is too late.

More that downed players get super HP buff that coupled with 15% hp/sec rezing keeps them in the fight far longer than they should be. If the player does get rallied any cleave damage you put down is erased on that downed player as they are returned with a set amount of %hp. Downed state almost plays like a death shroud in effect.

Well when you put it like that, I’m all for removing the death shroud.

I guess either I’m not explaining it very well or you are playing devils advocate but it comes down to the ratio of Xv2X or greater where downed state is highly favorable to the mass but hit or miss to the outnumbered. Downed state is balanced atm when X = ~5. If X is higher or lower than that it moves into favor of the larger group. If the ratio itself is greater than that it becomes way out of whack. Why should players losing fights that they outnumber suddenly have access to an infinite duration 3x hp that can be healed for 15%/sec base? Toss a 7sec duration on downed state and suddenly it’s balanced for the outnumbered aswell as still maintaining the possibility to both rally an ally and not get 1 shot ganked.

WvW needs more support for outnumbered fighting (or more accurately less support for outnumbering) so we can break out of this stupid number matching contest.

Just having more players is full carry, period. Besides your point is funny, you cleave downed to damage the living. Whether that downed gets up or not is pretty irrelevant when you just turned their group into squishies that has no hp left. If it’s a scenario where spiking is impossible then someone is making it impossible. That’s tactics.

So I did the math and added up the total downed state duration (I included vengeance up until me getting spiked) for the 3 enemy players,

in 1min:30sec 3 players had 94sec of downed state,
more accurately 3 players with a total of 220sec (3min:40sec) combat time, from each individuals engagement start time to me being spiked, spent a total of 94sec in downed state.

In total the 3 players spent an accumulated 42.7% of their summed fight time in downed state winning a 3v1 fight.

If that doesn’t define carry I don’t know what does.

No more 4x downed state but only once ( in an 1min time frame ),go down the next time and you die.

Ya the 3x HP in downed state is kind of carry. Partially it’s to prevent people who got one shot from being one shot while downed and to encourage spiking. But it ends up being “impossible” to effectively cleave a downed person that is getting rezzed because they are healed at 15%/second. If it’s a scenario where spiking is just impossible then it is indeed full carry for the people who have more players.

Broken record here, but a 7sec rally or die timer would make cleaving in this scenario at least slow down the rez healing enough for the timer to finish the downed player.

Pbaoe Boon Corruption.

It removes the enemies’ facetanking boon shield and replaces it with heavy attrition. Obviously a support character is a great pair but really any support at all is good. That just takes allies who understand reapers benefit heavily from even small amounts of support (lolswiftness please). When on revenant I make a point of standing near my reapers to ensure at minimum they have perma swiftness. Still working on being mindful to glint wing super speed them as well as give them protection boon from herald f2. Reapers really do contribute heavily to a fight if supported properly and I don’t mean lolepidemic.

What if going into downed state instant stomps every already downed body in a 300 range radius? How would that play out? Would that be something desirable?

It’s not hard to survive 7 seconds in downed state. So if an enemy drops before you do there is a high chance you would rally off them anyhow.
