They are probably going to just run it like HoT numbers. It would be a waste of dev time trying to come up with fancy system.
Why would someone play a class that has been “lacking active defenses” for 5 years and then complain that it still lacks them. Maybe reroll?
Perhaps, just perhaps necromancer is still heavily used in WvW/PvP despite it’s “lack of active defenses” because what it brings to the table compensates for it in other ways.
So what even is the debate?
It seems everyone realizes necro isn’t made for 1v1,
Can’t rotate worth a kitten ,
Is often paired with an ele,
Is still utilized heavily in spvp.
By that measure it seems like necromancers are the backbone of a solid team
A heads up,already tried seraph and it definately isnt worth it on scourge.
At capped boon duration the might produced while at 25 stacks it is very short,and it doesnt justify the glass stats.
The survivability drop is too big compared to cleric which i switched later on.
For a healing support scourge you need at least one defencive stat on top of the healing.I played PvE with mix of Seraph weapons/armor and shaman trinkets and it was extremely satisfying.
Yeah seraph is a min/max type of stat not an all or nothing.
You were probably weakened but by the time you glanced down at debuff it was cleansed.
Note that some npcs do have a higher level than 80, not sure if level glancing actually has an effect in wvw though.

Substat Expertise

swap the concentration for vitality. You’ll want it for LF management. Besides what the heck do you want the concentration for?
Concentration is great for your Might stacking, the boons you get from F2, Regen you apply with Staff or Focus, any and all boons from Feed From Corruption, etc.
I run leadership runes/“chilled to the bone” with well of power (traited protection) atm in wvw. Necro/reaper got more boons than people realize.

In a team fight its much better to stay at the outer, you either force your opponents to commit to overextending, to try and get rid of you, or you let the scourge deal free damage via shades summoned on point.
The best thing about it all was that if you are kiting, you can fight the people you are kiting while still affecting the fight on point.

Condi Reaper has been strong, but I wouldn’t even rank it in the top 10 roaming builds right now and, as I mentioned before, it shares “top” with multiple other classes in WvW zerging which is literally where Necro is at its strongest due to unlimited life force during clashes.
So again, if Necro ever gets something good, it gets nerfed away quickly to the point where it does nothing better than anyone else, making it the least desirable class in the game.

It’s literally never happened. I can mention times for that on every class in the game except Necro.
That’s almost like asking “hey guys I’m new, what is the best class to play?”. Condi reaper has been pretty oppressive in wvw since january. Necro ratio of participation is probaby the highest now.

It’s like saying guardian can’t Frontline because they are a low hp class.
Dodge, stab, Death shroud damage mitigation, corrupt, los, weakness, blind.
Need to watch those boons pop and corrupt them. Try to mitigate hard damage, dodge stuff like rush, bulls charge and dh ward barrage. If you have to take a hard hit, do it in shroud.

I do genuinely want to see staff become more than a “rolf loot” stick. I mean all 4 of its cd skills deliver attacks the exact same way. Make it lifesteal and corrupt increasing number of boons +1 each time. When it ends it deals all previous damage caused as one big packet to all foes in 1200 radius that corrupts all boons. If it causes downed state, it spikes them.

Develope a build then choose which of the weapons you want to make legendary. It makes little sense to choose a necro looking legendary and then try to make a build around it.
If someone forced me to make a legendary for my necro it would probably be twilight. Then astralaria. And there is no legendary focus I want, minstrel looks terrible.
At the end of the video I thought he might get some pressure as he faced a reaper, but the reaper was incredibly incompetent.
I don’t pvp these days but farmed tons of ventary healbots in wvw who were on their way to the zerg on spite/cures/reaper – power reaper.
(But yes these dudes seem to be surprised very often and not used to getting wrecked in under 20 seconds by a single opponent – which means there aren’t that much 1v1 counters to the build.)
Ya a good reaper build wrecks face tankers. About a year ago I rolled a reaper because I got sick of the tempest plague in wvw.
Andreill plays bunker druid and so has no dmg to kill anything let alone another bunker lol.
I’m just thinking staff + minions would be good variety and far more skill based than chill shout reaper. Right now minions do nothing except graze on the lawn.

GS3 – instant (1/4 cast, absolutely unintertuptable)
GS4 – 1 second cast (almost instant) which is far more important to be used when the enemy can’t dodge or interupt it.
GS5 – 1/2 cast, uninteruptable basicallyMoa – far more important for the enemy not to dodge or evade it thus needs to get used strategically. How often were you interupted on a Moa cast? Oh yes, It’s also a 1 second cast, sooo hard to not get countered on
Mass Invis – when exactly are you using MI that any protection would be required? When you are engaging trying to get a jump on the enemy when they haven’t spoted you yet? Very useful.
What about when you are trying to get away? In that case you F4 and MI, done.

Idk scepter laser beam. Rallying an ally. Stomping a foe. Interacting with thingies where you channel and interupts are counter play mechanic. Laying traps in wvw. Not sure if you can Mirage during this stuff though.
I was looking at making a minion master condi build and it didn’t look very good so thought I would make this suggestion,
Rework/remake Death Nova,
Death Nova: Each of you minions now drop marks on the ground every 3 seconds while in combat. Ranged minions cast it at the feet of their target. When a minion dies it drops all 4 marks on the ground. marks benefit from your traits
Think this would be good change as it brings much needed skilled plays to necromancer.
Rev hammer 1 is now a bullet instead of an “arrow” projectile. It’s range is shorter now. CoR cannot hit strafing targets and has gaps in its cascade attack that can miss.
Nevermind the number of blocks dh can freecast from behind.
No doubt a condi staff reaper without soul reaping.

If all you care about are Dungeons/Low Level Fractals, Rev’s actually a really strong choice… This is the type of content where like the single most important things are boons, power res’ing, cleaving hard in a power spec, and destroying breakbars fast. All of which Rev’s actually really good at.
Ya I love playing hammer/staff glint/Shiro in this type of pve. It feels exciting to play.
With Wells improved I swapped out 2 shouts, trooper runes and curses for,
2 wells, leadership runes and blood magic. And the greatsword, always a work in progress it seems.
Virtue traitline decreases virtues cooldown.
Erm…axe/focus is pretty awesome. I suppose they could buff it but I don’t think they will any time soon. Who knows though.
Pretty sure people already run viper’s for dps. It will still likely be viper’s for scourge. Power oriented reaper will probably get shoved out of endgame pve raids and as such viper’s nor grieving will be used by them if deathly chill dies.
And I don’t know of any players who can rune a mainhand, offhand and a 2-handed weapon all at the same time. (4stat is 2*1173, 2*633).
They inflate the perception of the groups size and it looks really bad when the group gets rolled because half of its players flee from the crush.
If your barrier is decaying, you’re not taking much damage. If you’re taking a lot of damage you don’t need to worry about decay. The decay is fine.
Yes this is something people wanting lower decay don’t understand. It’s not meant for perma shielding. It’s preemptive healing to help counter spikes. And it is not meant to 100% negate spikes either. It’s meant to soften them. It is meant to be a balanced augmenting mechanic that is not redundant nor a replacement.

If I have to do garbage like map completion of tangled depths and adventures for hours and hours and hours then you can spend a few hours in wvw hiding from enemy players. At least in wvw you can smash buttons and still get progress.
