seems like more of the same. Are players really going to use spirit bow? Seeing things change for elites might be good. Guess we have to wait and see. What classes are up this Friday?
Sounds like a fun start but I am overly concerned necro’s still won’t be overly viable in most dungeon comps.
I thought I would add that I did not love World 2. I felt like the levels were too long. However I still love SAB over all. I hope that we see SAB sometime in the near future even though that interview might indicate we won’t.
I have actually received constructive advice on his stream chat on at least two separate occasions, during neither of which I was abused too excessively. Meaning I only cried a little.
I think you are joking? Or I hope so…
I expected this when watching the ToL qualifiers. It was riddled with vote for Team Mist. I am not sure how entertaining it’s going to be watching a team who is overly comfortable with one another verse a team who isn’t.
I am not going to call foul play on voting, it is what it is. I hope that it is entertaining, but I have my doubts. I will say that if it is a stomp then it will probably do more harm than good for this community. I hope I am wrong.
I am currently leveling a thief from lv 1 on up and have made it to about lv 30 or so. It’s felt more difficult than some of the other classes I’ve leveled to date. I was wondering what players use to level with? Or perhaps some suggestions on how to best level without it feeling overly painful.
I voted for ranger and necro, as well as dps guard. Perhaps not popular choices but that is what I’d like to see.
It’s a shame that some “top players” wouldn’t want to go.
little confused why there is a whole team up there to vote for. Or why people would vote for the entire team. If that is what the community wants then just have team verse team.
I considered this but I own the cap already and don’t want or need a second one. Regardless of a good deal on keys having that cap a second time annoys me for some reason. lol
Also I already miss that bonus you were getting in chests the last few months.
Just curious how these players were chosen? On the topic of voting I made sure to mix some players up so it isn’t all of one team together.
I’ve given him over 5g…I couldn’t believe that he doesn’t actually do anything so I kept giving him money. lol I’ve come to the same conclusion as everyone else, he likes to drink. Would probably make for a really funny story as to how he even got out there in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks everyone. Does the decision change much if I have a mix of Berserker and Assassin ascended armor? This is what I wear. I made this before all the changes and have been too stubborn to make 3 more pieces of berserkers. I think the answer is to take a few more power infusions but in the end it probably doesn’t matter much.
I run with mixed groups, sometimes they are pugs and sometimes it’s structured.
At what point does precision become useless, or nearly useless? I am starting to infuse my gear.
Gems and their value will continue to rise. There will be some dips here and there but it’s simply something that will continue to increase. More players want to turn gold into gems, rather than gems into gold.
Someone else above said don’t have an open mic. THIS IS #1 and really the only important thing to know. Use push to talk. If the program bugs out or your computer does and it opens the mic then mute it right away or shut the program down. This does happen to me on occasion.
I don’t care how old someone is, how they sound, or what they are talking about (most of the time), but please use PUSH TO TALK.
Be yourself and have fun.
It’s been covered above but Necro’s aren’t worth the slot in a dungeon group. Lack of general utility. What do they bring to the table that someone else doesn’t also bring and better?
I have a necro and I love him. LOVE HIM! But I am forced to play my guard because he’s simply more useful. I’ve been waiting for a long time to make the switch back but every time we hear news on the necro front it doesn’t equate to much.
It’s been said. Ele’s are the new meta. 1-2 are nearly mandatory. 1-2 Warriors —but to be honest I’d rather have an Ele. 1 Guard or 1 Thief, 1 Ranger, 1 Mesmer. I don’t even see Engi’s to be honest but even they are in a better place than Necros.
DnT is hosting a PVE speed dungeon clear coming up soon. While these are speed clears it will still be indicative of what the meta is and what is useful. I will be very surprised if anyone uses a necro.
If Anet intended the game to only be played one way, we wouldnt have class diversity.
Except all classes are not created equal. You can and are free to play anyway you like. But some players are simply not going to enjoy your way of playing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Some good info for me to consider here.
Does anyone use these weapons? If you do, do you use them for pve or wvw or spvp? What stats?
I do mostly pve on my guard and I never use these weapons. In fact I don’t own them. As I am going through and ascending everything out I am missing these weapons and am going to make them. I realize that these might not be as popular or efficient but that could change, and I’d rather have them then not have them.
This might be answered above but I would appreciate if someone could clear this up for me if possible. Thanks.
I listened but to be honest a lot of this goes over my head. I simply have too many characters most of the time. I love my necro in wvw. I don’t love him in PVE dungeons, or rather most other players don’t love him.
Did they address why they aren’t loved in pve dungeons? Why would you want to take a necro over another class?
There was talk about checks and balances and how each class is supposed to fill certain roles because others lack these things. But how does the necro fit in there better than another class or at least equal to?
on a bad day i average ~7g a day. and i don’t even pve at all. what are you doing wrong?
Not playing the TP.
The only thing that you responded with that made sense was the first paragraph.
I am sorry you were unable to understand my English.
Yes the limit on the tourney is an issue, but that is ofc entirely ANET and blu’s fault with how they allow teams to entire. If there had been a league/good mmr system/better leaderboards……this issue could be avoided entirely.
Explain in more detail please, wouldn’t this still limit the field? Part of the issue is how limited the field is, the other part is what is being offered as a reward. Would the out cry be as loud if this was a limited finisher as they have used in the past? I am sure there would still be complaints on the subject but it would probably be less so.
As for the other bit, a pvp tournament to award pvp players with a mini as an award, is the biggest slap in the face.
I agree with you that a mini doesn’t make a lot of sense. A finisher would have been much better.
As for when I said as a winner of the tourney, I said that because I am trying to speak on behalf of the competetive community as to what will help ANET open their eyes for the pvp competitive scene in the long run in terms of what items they should develop and reward. As far as all the people QQing about not being able to obtain the mini, tell ANET to give us a better leaderboard/league/MMR system.
While that would help the pvp community that doesn’t change the reward. All of those things exclude parts of the player base. I am not saying that is a bad thing but it doesn’t solve what people feel the issues are.
There seems to be more than one perspective being looked at here.
1: From the competitive players view
2: From the collectors view
Both of those views and points of contention are valid, and both of them are concerned with different issues.
If you want to represent an entire community as a leader then you should be a little more professional in your responses here to the community and whatever is directed at AN. Proper attitude and constructive feedback is paramount in good communication.
And for what I about the tourney not being run to its full capability because of BLU, I know this is fact and its not subjective. I am not going to argue with you there because you simply know nothing when it comes to that.
This is where proper attitude and constructive feedback is paramount in good communication.
WvW players got exclusive skins(skins > mini imo), yet you don’t see pve players/pvp players bashing Anet for that.
The difference has been pointed out before. WvW is not capped on how many can participate in it. What if AN said only the top three servers in EU and NA were able to get these rewards, not top three brackets but only top three servers and no transfers are allowed. Even then this player pool is much larger than that allow in the TOL.
It is only open to a limited crowd. So even if you like sPVP you aren’t likely to simple qualify to get into TOL. This is how it should be but it makes the item in question, (a collectable item) very limited.
Just do the tournament if you want an exclusive mini so badly. I mean we are talking about a mini here………..
Don’t devalue the prize because it’s not important to you.
As winner of the last Tournament of legends,
Ah here we go… You and your team possess the skills necessary to compete at a high level. Not everyone has the same skill set, or is privy to such team mates. Please try to look at this from another perspective.
I personally think ANET is taking the cheap route(not allocating money into right areas). Mini is just a laughable reason not to spend money to develop exclusive skins/armor/backpieces. Even a legendary is laughable and a typical ANET move considering all they do is recycle skins and add new ones to the gem store.

doing map completion is only one aspect of the game, in order to make gold you need to do more than just that. That being said materials you get per zone completion can be very profitable. Are you farming as you go along? I’ve made plenty in this way.
Crafting legendaries to sell is very profitable, as much as that makes my skin crawl.
This may not be the last Tournament of Legends and may not be the last time for people to get this item. If they don’t get it this time around, they can try again next time, and if they never end up getting it, then they didn’t want it bad enough, and that’s too bad for them.
Only if it’s going to work this way. At this point we simply don’t know enough.
and if they never end up getting it, then they didn’t want it bad enough, and that’s too bad for them
This isn’t true either. You could put in thousands of hours or practice and searching for a team and still just come up short. There is a skill required to even qualify. It’s not that all teams qualify, there is a cut off and in order to make that cut off there is a certain amount of skill required. You can have all the desire in the world and still not have the skill.
Again the flip side is: Are you ok with losing revenue on mini sales because X number of collectors now feel excluded? I would suspect that Mr Sparkles wasn’t originally intended for the 50 dollars sale but he became that way eventually.
Also isn’t the deadline for registration tomorrow? 24 hours to find and put together a team? Seems kind of short notice.
I was referring to farming and playing the game in general giving you tons of gold. But you point is valid.
There is still an issue with too many things on the screen at once and you want 3 characters = 1?
Fun idea, honestly. But it doesn’t seem like something we’ll see.
I think he means they “feel” forced. AN can’t and aren’t forcing you, but they are doing their best to entice you. I know I feel enticed, even if I don’t have a shot at making the cut. That is the more depressing realization for myself.
And your point being?
Be less defensive. There isn’t always a point to be made but rather an observation.
you just have to put things people want in their hands and they’ll shovel gold at you.
And to be fair you don’t even have to do that…
While I personally would love Skritt, we will never seem them. Lore wise it just doesn’t make sense. They aren’t very smart when they aren’t with a bunch of other skritt.
Tengu were supposed to be in at launch, or at least considered at one point or another. There was reference to this in the art book I think. With that much work being done on them already it’s more than likely this is the race we’ll see first.
Armor issues and clipping in general is a problem for most other races. Tengu included. Either way we’ll be waiting a long time before we see more. I’d also love another class to play. Expansion usually bring this stuff and we aren’t close to seeing one of those, if ever either.
And certain items are rare because AN has made them so.
Also there are already locked finishers. Which also make more sense as a reward in pvp.
Even if you are a pvp player there is no guarantee you’ll be able to obtain this mini. So it isn’t just for pvp players but for those who are able to put a team together and do well enough to qualify. How many of those players would rather have something functional to show their prowess over a mini pet?
As for those who are saying mini collectors feel entitled. It’s not about being entitled to the pet. People are willing to work for it, pay for it in some cases. But with such a limited field it’s going to be tough to obtain. If it’s sellable then even with a limited supply it’s still obtainable no matter the cost. But there is a very real possibility that it won’t be.
You might say that you don’t need every mini pet in the game, or that it’s ok for your collection to have holes. Maybe that is true, but how many of these collectors are going to stop buying from the gem store when their collections are now forever incomplete. That is a simple fact. Perhaps this is a super small number of players but I would bet it still adds a fair bit of income to the gem store because those people spend on every mini pet, and often time double because of how they are often forged.
If there is a mini that is locked behind something like this and AN is ok with that notion then that is fine, but expect there to be a lot less collectors. And with it a lot of complaints.
If it’s not obtainable any other way then hopefully it’s tradable. If that is the case then I am ok with it. If it isn’t well then I’ll save a lot of money. Mini’s or collecting them isn’t cheap. I am sure someone can do the math out there on how many gems it would cost and how much gold the series are worth. It’s a lot.
I am with others here, could give us 1 ascended weapons for 9 weeks worth of tournament?
Are you going to discuss 2v1 win trading?
The idea that playing the TP is more fun then playing the game is purely a matter of opinion.
I didn’t say it was more fun I said it was more rewarding. The patches that are released are not rewarding. There is always more money and therefore more reward to playing the TP and speculating about the patch then actually doing to meta and playing the game. The richest players in this game did not become so by playing the content in the LS or seasonal patches.
The only major issue I see in this area is the amount of black lion weapons locked behind RNG tickets. That should be done away with, and the skins becoming pure gem shop purchases, or even allowing them to be purchased as sets ala the gem store armors.
The argument here is that they are gem store purchasable. Buy gems, convert to gold, buy from the TP. Everything revolves around it. Maybe less items should be able to be sold on the TP.
It’s not more rewarding to play the TP than the game when you consider everyone doing it at the same time.
It is still more rewarding, most players are simply bad at that part of the game. In WOW for example, raiding is the most rewarding part. (ie: best gear) But not everyone has the best gear because they are simply not good enough to obtain it.

Players have figured out how to do the CP effectively. While the drop rate is still fairly terrible you have a ton more people doing it and very quickly. More to sell and makes them worth a lot less.
The Bazar on the other hand has a much slower way to have the possibility to earn them with an equally terrible drop rate. Less people doing that content now because it’s just not effective to make any profit.
A lot of people seem to be on the train of thought that playing the TP should not be allowed. It’s crazy to think that. However, it is far more rewarding to sit and play the TP then it is to play the game itself. That is an issue.
I don’t agree on selling the paths thing. If people want to pay and buy it then that is on them. I don’t think dungeons should ever be soloable, but that is a different topic.
On point 1 I agree. The rewards aren’t very rewarding. And when they are or even get close to being so, they get nerfed to the point where you aren’t able to do them anymore.
Please, please remove seasons. Make weekly matchups more rewarding. Perhaps weekly achievements (if they can be implemented properly) and the servers get 50, 40, 30 tokens based on how they do?
I want good fights. I want an incentive to win. I don’t want the massive imbalances and burnout that seasons bring.
Sadly it would not work. The same thing would happen. Solid 2v1 and win trading. I do not care so much about the 2v1. It was tough as nails. But win trading? Garrison / Tower / keep Trading? Just isn’t ok. Even bloodlust doesn’t work, simply trade that and stomps… I sadly do not know the solution but the system doesn’t and hasn’t worked for a long time. This season was a good showcase for it. I hope that AN learns from this and improves it somehow.
Don’t worry this is the content for the next month or so. Enjoy.
Looks like a full outfit like a costume. 700 gems. Dragon Bash.
Not entirely true, at least for NA Gold. The server with the best overall coverage isn’t going to win (matter of fact, best case scenario only gives it a tie for third) – of course, it required a ton of coordination and alot of trust to pull it off, but it worked.
Except that NA Gold proved how to best manipulate the system. The system simply doesn’t work and hasn’t for a long time. For the record it wasn’t only NA Gold where this was happening.

I had the same experience last night. I did over 350 bags in one sitting. 1 Favor and the rest @ 1 token per bag.
400+ 1 favor is my reward so far.
look at the usefulness of shields as well…
I don’t see why people care about this so much. I got my Liadri Mini last time. This time I can spend that time doing other things, old players and new players who might be better or skilled enough as it is will now be able to get it.
Man I hope not onemantankwall… I do want to see dragonbash again but we are on a festival right now. would hate to see them back to back,.
From the forge Vol or actual drop. Nearly 5k hours and zero drops. I have gotten them from the forge before though. But that costs money.
