The plan isn’t to attack Lion’s Arch, it’s to attack what’s under Lion’s Arch.
So she’s a “super smart” girl. She uses a device that literally turns off blocks in her mind, thinking that’s a good idea. The result is that something malevolent gains access to her psyche. In an effort to fight back against this thing she has done everything up to this point.
She invested in the Thaumanova Reactor in order to find a method to track it. She paired the Dredge and Flame Legion in order to gain technology to take advantage of that method. She paired Inquest and Sky Pirates to gain access to easy transport. She stole the Watchknights for a tireless assault force. She paired the Krait and Nightmare Court for a way to kill it.
Now everything is just coming together.
What she’s doing is still not good, even if she manages to kill a Dragon. She chose the worse possible way to go about it, the most violent, narcissistic and crazy path. She could have worked with people and helped everyone, but she’s not trying to help anyone, just herself.
MF is working as expected. MF has nothing to do with your probability of getting a Precursor. All MF does is give you a chance of getting a rare where you would have instead gotten a fine or masterwork.
At around 170% (70% base + 100% from the birthday gift buff) I started noticing a significant increase in rare drops from chests, if not standard drops. When I do the Ulgoth chain in HH I almost always get a rare from the chest in addition to the one for the event.
And that is it. That is all MF is good for, getting the occasional Rare where you otherwise would not. It may also increase your chances of exotics and precursors, but not by a high enough margin for it to be relevant, no matter how much farming you do.
I’m just curious what people think of the build from the gear perspective. I’ve intentionally left the traits sparse and skills absent for room to adapt for different things.
The idea is a high damage build that can still have reasonable toughness and vitality, depending on traiting.
I’m confused. I thought Trolls Unguent would be considered the “survival” heal. Of course, unlike most classes our heals don’t fit well into our skill categories. Maybe Healing Spring could be part of traps. No Idea what Heal as One is supposed to be, a shout? Now we have a Spirit, which leaves Signet as the only skill left out of our repertoire.

The story is Living, meaning it continues to move forward even if activities remain behind to entertain us.
I am sure that if there was an achievement tied to the instance, they would not have removed it regardless of the flow of time, to avert the impending outpour of player rage. But since there was no achievement, they were kind of like, “meh”. But I heard it was some seriously quality exposition, and am sad to have missed it for once. At least someone’s put it on YouTube.
It was, I wish I’d done it with a Charr so I could find out if Rytlok has more to say if it’s someone he actually respects.
Destiny Edge 2.0 (and all LS-related team) starts to remind me annoyingly politically correct action movies. I have nothing against all that groups in particular but it is just statistically improbable that we will have it all at once. Just stahp, I want realistic characters.
Thats why I also hope that Taimi die horribly. Cartoony baby-genius is even worse than Scarlet for me.

Also, it’s not like the fact that Taimi is a cripple isn’t there to show that doesn’t stop her to do what she wants, and not succumb to disabilities.

I guess I should be glad I randomly bought two Gifts of Battle ages ago with all the BoH I got from achievements. I don’t have any real interest in any of the Legendaries, but I don’t have any interest in WvW either, so no use for BoH.
I actually regretted it at the time, but it looks like it worked out just fine.
Too bad, I didn’t managed to be in any Marionette defeat.
Maybe they put a video or summary somewhere else. But I hope this time there is no big event win requisite to access the summary.
You didn’t need to defeat Marionette, participation was enough. In fact I believe you could go there without even going near the bosses – it just wasn’t clear enough in the game that you could do so.

Is the Secret Lair also accessible somewhere if I participated but didn’t defetaed the Marionette? I was under strong assumption that you need to defeat that event to access both the story and the lair.
Participation was only necessary to put a marker for the lair on your map. The lair itself was always accessibly if you have enough power cores.

5. Canach – The bad boy character.
Totally forgot about Canach, he’s gotten so little play since South Sun. Destiny’s Edge needs a Sylvari to be properly set up, so I could see him getting a chance to make up for his “misdeeds” to help save the world. Especially when Scarlet attacks Lion’s Arc, where he’s being held.
There is an unmarked, unattended probe over in Bloodtide Coast – I don’t know if it was simply overlooked, or if it has anything to do with anything. Nobody around it but local mobs.
There, in fact, three. The probes that attract the three Wurm heads during the big event.
And that is why I’m glad I work on Patch day so I don’t get in until half the day is over and they’ve usually put some fixes in for things that aren’t working.
I think the point of Taimi is that she came out of no where and we don’t know anything about her. If they gave us a whole bit of exposition about her it would make the reveal later in the story meaningless.

To be fair, you don’t need them to complete the meta. As such they’re not meant to just be give aways, like the meta is. I don’t agree with it, but I can at least see the idea being that they’re for individuals in servers that can come together, not just for anyone who happens to show up and be able to get through it.
The problem is there are people who are completionist. These types of people can be very frustrated if they can’t get the stuff done because its unreasonable. These specific achievements are simply RNG. It really isn’t hard to dodge anything but to relay on a lot pugs is. To me that isn’t really even achievement, the /cheer isn’t anything special, maybe put in for fun yes and I won’t mind but stuff like the dodge is stupid. Now the pirate girl where you had to NEVER get hit during the whole time by cannons was a real achievement. Some of these like the last 2 you dodge once and then hide in the corner and kill the boss.
Achievements should either be fun or actually require you to do something. However the main issue is the 2 week period.
I actually found the cheer to be the hardest one to complete. I couldn’t type fast enough to cheer before the cut scene, and if I ended the cut scene prematurely it teleported me to the chest and I still couldn’t do it. I ended up having to make a macro on my Naga to do it with one button. That’s no fun.
The rest of them I got with perseverance and paying attention in Overflows. Though I finally got the last one on my home server.
Four week period. LS events are four weeks long every two weeks. Sometimes the events that show up two weeks in are only for the remaining two weeks, but generally it’s four weeks every two.
So wait this event has 2 more weeks to go for the achieves? I read the 4th but now I am told like the 18th? I made a thread asking but no one answered and I haven’t found any clear cut answer, just contridictions.

Chewable comes in and says, “Don’t use Brown Bear all the time.” Granted, he mostly says if you ever use Brown Bear you’re a bad player, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and stick with the subject. So it should be ok to use the Brown Bear sometimes, but swap it out with other things during combat.
Then everybody and their mother comes in and says, “How dare you, I sometimes use Brown Bear where appropriate but usually have it swapped out for something else.”
Basically, everyone that stopped by, presumably to flame this thread, agrees with the OP, that it’s ok to use the Brown Bear sparingly, but you should also use other pets where they’re appropriate.
You dont need regen nessesarily.. It took me a long time to get used to playing without it after playing on fauxs original RRR build for far too long, but if you can get yourself 2900+ armour and 20k+ HP honestly you’re good to go. TU is one of the very best heals in the game, it will keep you alive :P
The Steam Creatures are obviously Scarlet’s minions from the future, sent back in time to reinforce her earlier watchwork minions in the past (our present).

Marionette stays another two weeks and the wurm is permanent content.
With all LS content, new content comes every 2 weeks but it stays for 4 weeks, meaning you always have overlapping content.
No, both of those are done now. I went to each last night and there were about 30 people for Marionette (protip, you cannot clear Marionette with 30 people), and I’m not sure exactly how many people showed up for the Wurm event but it ended almost instantly after it started. They are just over with now, so there needs to be something else to do.

Simple answer. No one was “assigned” to a lane. They just happened to be there. They didn’t even specifically come together for this, again, they just happened to all be there.
That’s old news. Though the portals Steam Creatures use in order to gain access to our world seem to be very similar to the ones Scarlet uses to move her troops around. The door is a different thing, though, with a different key and a different event.
Besides, whatever she wants seems to be centered on Lion’s Arch. Not there. She’s only here for weapons testing.
There is no AoE circle. You have to use your eyeballs to see the wasps. They don’t place AE because they just go boom after a bit of time.
And what is the radius of that boom? Going boom after a bit of time in a radius that can potentially instant down you is precisely what red circles are for.
Guesting works for the marionette, but no one is doing triple trouble any more. Got all the achievements except the heads, but there’s never anyone on any server to guest, even at night. Guess those who got the heads will never return. Reminds me of tequatl.
There are most likely some guilds that are all about it, just have to find them. Since the Wurm is permanent content you have until the end of forever to work on it, just like Tequatl.
If the problem was switching to Rabid gear… perhaps use different gear? A combination of Rabid, Carrion and Dire, perhaps, to boost your toughness with your vitality.
I love the idea of actually having the marionette in the grand pavilion. Maybe slightly toned down. It could even be its own special instance in the arena for 25 man raiding.
One path that gets flooded with each of the different “inhabitants” of the arena in turn. Then between each wave everyone has to go fight the warden and marionette to break a chain. The mechanics of that fight being identical to what they are now.
People are still bringing bear/bows and mm necros and wondering why they are failing the events.
My main is a Ranger. I have only done this event with my main. My primary weapon is bow and my off pet is bear. My main pet, being a bird, melts to many of the Wardens leaving me bear and bow.
I have only failed once on my platform, the first time I did it on the first day. It happened to be Warden 2. But I was also in Path 5, so almost everyone failed.
As much as I take offense to the term Bear/Bow, I also know it doesn’t apply to me because I actually know how to play my class and succeed where others fail. Watching a polar bear backing Warden 1 up against the wall and the Ranger doing nothing to get it to move does lend credence to the claim.
Why wont people stack by the regulator in warden 5?
Because most players have never even seen Warden 5? I’ve only done it once and while I had a vague understanding of the “strat,” reading it and actually understanding how the thing works aren’t the same.
Yeah, there is a lot of lore happening for this update. It’s better to actually get all of the information before throwing around conspiracy theories.
In fact, if you talk to Kasmeer before and after the event you’ll get a little more insight into why she’s not gelling. Not even going into the revelation that happens in the LA instance.
Same, I get them all, but completely agree. I could even have accepted if it was contingent on the specific platform I was on succeeding. But not on the entire event that I have no control over what so ever.
Harpies were my first guess, but wouldn’t largos also be possible? I feel largos kodan would make more sense than harpy kodan.
Noob question maybe but, could someone tell me what is a largo? Another race or another name for one of those?
Largos are an aquatic race. I only know of a handful of them. One terrorizes some Sylvari in Brisban Wildlands. One is part of the personal story. I think there are about three in the waters east of Mount Maelstrom.
I’ve been wondering what would happen under those situations. That’s pretty shocking that in the time it took you guys to finish the path it had already filled half a charge, just from mobs.
Overflows work just fine. The fact that you get randomly disconnected isn’t ANet’s fault, nor a fault of Overflows. I’m on the fringe of my network provider and no where near the game servers yet I’ve never randomly disconnected. So I can’t help but assume the fault is on your own end somewhere.
I don’t know, I just see a lot of whining and crying about nothing. I’ve spent all but two runs in Overflows. So completely random groups and I have gotten through enough that the only thing I need now is to do Warden 5 and avoid the scream.
I’m sorry that your luck is really bad, but honestly, too bad. Get over it. You don’t need to beat the Marionette even one time to get the meta. Hell, you don’t even need to DO the Marionette to get the meta. You can show up once a day and fail the wurm to get it, too.
It’s not hard to explain the mechanics. I have rarely done one of these that has not included some brief explanation of what’s expected in each phase.
I don’t know if anyone has been a kitten to anyone else after a fail, cause I don’t watch map chat and don’t care. It has nothing to do with me. I just know they start off civil and cooperative.
