Sooooo. Rocket Charge. It is a leap finisher on every jump, so 3 leap finishers and leap finisher effects (negative ones) affect enemies that are hit. Rocket Charge strikes 5 targets.

So question is if I do RC in Lightning field and happen to hit 5 guys will each one of them get 1s daze? Same with poison, will that leap finisher +strike on 5 targets apply weakness to every enemy actually hit ?

If so then this skill is looking better and better.

I have no means of actually trying this out with other leap skills that strike multiple foes atm but does anyone know it ?

Not as a healer. A- a full cleric water ele puts out more utility HEALING

He does not. Unless you mean to tell me you pump out 6k+ heals every 2 sec or so along with 800-900 regeneration ? IT’s also all on demand.

As for the tablet itself, yeah it could use a 100% movement increase or move by the means of teleporting and healing those around the place it teleported to.

@Ezrael, they are giving it to engie because different classes have different builds, strength and weaknesses. Guardian has a lot of things to make him tougher.

Elite Specs must be coherent and working by themselves without requiring other skills because what would be the point?

So in order to make him fulfil certain role they envision they need to make certain traits a lot stronget than otherwise. Traits that for other classes would be hilariously OP. Can you imagine this trait on a Necro ? XD

Vigour uptime is only if you combine 2 lines and traits swiftness + vigour on it. It’s similar to thieves who mostly have active defenses. Engineers are a mix whereas Guardians have a lot of passive defense.

You need to compare entirety of a class to another class as a whole. Not just parts of it because otherwise things may seem OP. Right now if anything Hammer is good altough too little dmg but gyros are absolutely terrible in current interation.

1s stab per pulse has its uses. Drop it on someone you need to stomp and you get stab every sec when stomping so even if they clear your stab you get another one so it’s a lot harder to prevent stomp in this scenario.

I do agree that skill is too weak atm though.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. I think fixes to scrapper will have to carry into release due to not enough feedback from just one BWE and them being a little too cautious about making skills strong.

Remember the livestream? The idea of stealth gyro is to stack up bout 20 secs of stealth and then detonate for superspeed. it requires Final Salvo but hey its a combo better then SR and Veil. as for depending on them verses kits, yeah i dont get it, i main engi and i use only 1-2 kits depending on build, and i can see myself using a Gyro (I mean literally all of them fit one way or another.) Take a Bombkit/Shredder Gyro. Smoke field plus Gyro will send blinding bolts out that burn down break bars. perfect for raids. Gyros should be targetable, and the Scrapper needs to be aware of this. But hey we are still pre BWE3 so things could change.

How do you stack 20s of stealth on something that gives 4s of stealth every 3s :P

Also Shredder with Reflect. Yes, I said it :P

I got to say that gyros are extremely bad. No way in hell will they stand a chance vs kits.

First and foremost… CD should start at the moment of usage, not at the moment of destruction. Also they should be strong enough to compete with kits. I kinda dislike that we are the only class with so many AI based skills (turrets + gyros).

Medic gyro… 30-44s CD depending on how long it lives. Has absolutely nothing on HT. Make it do that 820 heal per sec and increase radius to 360 and then we can talk whether that is enough. It simple needs more stuff going on for it and/or more throughput.

Bulwar Gyro – it’s bad because it gives that protection to enarby allies so everyone who gets hit will share 50% of the dmg and kinda make it instantly die or soon enough. This would’ve been 10x better if it simple gave protection. Toolbelt on it is pretty good though but the main skill is bad.

Blast Gyro – lol this is literally the worst imo. Long CD, AI based, CCable, killable knockback. It needs to be a launch and apply some nasties. Why would i want to use it? Ram is single target but does launch, has 25s CD, also does hefty damage, can’t be killed, has good toolbelt with a daze and great dmg. IT should have superspeed the moment it is spawned. Why should I use toolbelt skill just to make base skill work ?:P Also it should apply something more like burning (2stacks 5s), bleed (6stacks 10s) or anything really. IT’s just bad. Toolbelt skill… make it 1/4 cast instead of 3/4 and reduce CD to 20s or 25s tops.

Shredder Gyro – cool idea actually and I like it. Problem with it is how many fields will alst long enough? Between fields it does pretty much nothing great. There’s also the fact that fields are something others often do and it can get random to the point of not getting effects we even want. Direct Dmg is also pretty terrible. Make it Cripple/Weaken with each hit at least. Toolbelt skill is good.

Purge Gyro – Interval 3s → 2s. It’s not aoe like many skills so why not make it stronger? Toolbelt is okish, well if you take blasting evasive keg to go along with rocket charge.

Sneak Gyro – this is simply terrible. Just delete this skill. Tollbelt skill is cool but base skill ? It’s bad. PvP? You can see it and yes, you know how many are there because in every single organized spvp you will have people calling it over voicecom how many there are, where and then you pretty much know what’s hidden there. Also PvE usability is pretty much zero, stealth that has flying crap around yourself that will pull everything on top of your head. Can we ever have a good elite that does not suck ? Right now I would take mortar + Shredder Gyro and pop 1 field after another to have it proc it rather than ever use Sneak Gyro.

Overall I am very disappointed with the Scrapper (with the exception of hammer which does too little dmg imo). There are some good traits there too but our 6-0 skills are mostly undertuned by a lot.

Prepare for some laughs…

I have prepared a couple of exotic armors and weapons along with some jewelery (other jewelery parts were ascended). I have been seldom playing the game in recent time so I forgot some things. I thought I will ready stuff all the way along with putting in sigils and runes in the armor. Boy, oh boy was I surprised to find out that I bound 80% of the stuff to my engineer who couldn’t even use it!

Stuff I bound by mistake/carelessness to my engineer that was meant to be for my Revenant:

- Berserker’s Draconic; helm, chest, shoulders, gloves, boots, legs (all with Superior Rune of Rage)
- Berserker’s Pearl Sabre (Superior Sigil of Accuracy), Berserker’s Pearl Sabre (Superior Sigil of Force), Berserker’s Pearl Crusher (Superior Sigils of Force & Accuracy)
- Cleric’s Draconic: helm, chest, shoulders, gloves, boots, legs (all with Superior Rune of Altruism)
- Cleric’s Pearl Quarterstaff (Superior Sigils of Water & Benevolence), Cleric’s Pearl Shell (Superior Sigil of Benevolence)
- Dire Draconic; helm, chest, shoulders, gloves, boots, legs (all with Superior Rune of Tormenting)

The worst part is that I didn;t have too much gold so Most of it went into it and gems. ArenaNet does not help with this. Already tried. So in the end I had to salvage everything from the list above (mostly the armor with Runes of Tormenting since they are 10g/piece.

Since then I sold some mats and farmed a bit through events so I am up to ~80g now and already recovered 95% of these items:P

So much for prepping XD

How hard would it be to grant allies something akin to thief venoms but that does burn?

I think Herald could give perma protection on there own as is.

At a great cost. Combined with Ele HS and Mesmer’s signet this could be done without any penalties for Rev, allowing him to spend energy on different things.

Since corruption and mallyx is all about being the master of torment and being pushed more that route, I’m playing around with an idea I wanted to run by all of you. Torment is less valued in stationary fights due to the way torment functions. Since torment is the main damaging condition for Revenant, I’ve been thinking about adding functionality to a trait or maybe changing the minor 2 in corruption to increase the base damage torment does while not moving while not increasing the while moving damage to help it become more of a viable option in all areas of the game. What do you all think?

This comes down to the nature of torment itself and ain’t different for a revenant or for example a mesmer scepter. If you really feel torment in itself is in a poor place, don’t just change a trait on rev to boost it, change the condition itself to make it more worth it.

It’s not that tbh. Condition is good as supplementary condition often but other classes rely on other conditions as well like bleed, burn, confusion while Mallyx besides #2 fire is almost exclusively Torment based that’s why it is supposed to get boost. Why? Because if they simply make us stack even more then it’s ok when not moving and totally deadly when moving. So they want to raise bottom dmg up without raising total dmg when moving.

Need last Ascended Berserk Accessory. Then need to get remaining Rabid ones.

Got Cleric, Berserk and some parts of Dire exotic armors and some weapons. Still waiting till people sell the rest.

Also bought Halloween Pail 20 slot bags *10 (some for my engineer since he had some 15 slots XD) these were ~5g per piece so the best alternative to standard 20 slots.

I think pain absorption needs a rework now that Mallyx rev won’t be gaining power from stacking condis on itself. Perhaps something like ‘convert 1 condition to resistance for nearby allies’ with a resistance duration of 2 seconds.

No need. Pain Absorption gives Resistance for every pulled Condi thus making you immune and your heal heals you for more if you have condi on you.

So they don’t work and make you heal for more. That and Pulsating Prestilence with a buff since it copies as I get it every second for 3 seconds conditions present on you.

PS

While we are at it can we have Pain Absorption apply Blind, Weakness and Cripple to ourselves? Would synergize with Pulsating Pestilence nicely.

Corruption
In the corruption specialization, there were a few traits which needed some tweaks in power to be competitive options. As an example revenant did not have many options to apply poison, but had the trait Venom Enhancement which increased poison duration so I thought it made sense to also apply poison itself.
Pulsating Pestilence: Increased the trigger chance from 15% to 25%.
Replenishing Despair: Increased the base heal by 300% and added a 1 second internal cool-down.
Venom Enhancement: This trait will now apply poison for 5 seconds with a 20 second recharge when you apply torment as well as increasing poison duration.

Few propositions of mine

Pulsating PestilenceTrigger Chance 100%. When struck copy all conditions present on you if at or above threshold. (ICD 15s)
Threshold: 3
Radius 360
Duration 3s

Or

Pulsating PestilenceTrigger chance 33%. When struck you have a chance to copy all conditions present on you and gain resistance with every pulse (1s). ICD 15s-20s. Radius 240-360. Duration 3s

Duration describes duration of pulsing so 3s = 3 pulses. Now this is GM worthy imo.

Replenishing Despair – this is way way too weak because resistance from this row is far far better. 1s of resistance in right conditions can prevent 3k burn dmg for example. If it’s supposed to have an ICD then it needs to heal more. 300% from ~50 up to 150 with 1s ICD is nothing.

Replenishing DespairIncoming Conditions heal you. 1000 heal. 5s ICD.

Equals around 250hps if procced every single time so it’s not game breaking and is more useful. This way it is more meaningful and a bit more valuable while not being OP. 150 heal every 1s is bad because how often you get conditions every second on yourself? Not too often. Rather make ICD higher and the effect more impactful.

Venom Enhancement – how about a little twist on it? It can be understood in many ways since you enhance poison. It would also make 3rd attack in chain a bit more useful ever time ICD was recharged.

Venom EnhancementApply poison (5s). When you apply poison you also blind in area around your target (240 radius) for 5s. Poison you apply lasts 50% longer. ICD 25-30s

It makes all of these competitive imo and valuable enough to actually compete vs resistance one. Also GM PP one is a better. Option 1 allows to to estimate when it will take place and to guarentee a certain level of impact. Option 2 does not ave a threshold thus decrease it’s power a bit but it makes up for it with resistance. I thought about 1s per every condition copied but decided middle ground with 3s. It could end up being 1s or 10s otherwise.

I don’t think Mallyx will suffer much in sPvP.

With point on Torment through UA + EtD he can ramp it up a lot and since in pvp everyone moves all the time Torment should be doing its top dmg most of the time.

I do miss being able to blind someone with EtD blind copy in aoe.

M/Shield and M/Sword should be also pretty decent at surviving with 2s block on 12s and 3s block with healing on 20s while applying pressure through #2 #3 UA and EtD.

The purpose of Mallyx over Shiro is Resistance. You don’t get much of it without Corruption.

Even with Corruption you pretty much have to trait Adept for additional resistance eitherway. But yeah, valid points and hopefully will be adressed.

I’m not sure if this change will be in BWE3 (been making changes in a lot of different places) but I’m intending for all shouts to be usable underwater.

Additionally, can you comment on Deathly Chill? This skill currently doesn’t work on 90% of PvE enemies. Any update on this?

I think the new icon will help with this. The damage is probably getting lost with the other attacks.

Can you also rename shouts underwater to:

I agree these would be fun, but extremely overpowered. A perma pulsing of frost or chaos armor is just way too op. Wouldn’t matter how you changed the numbers its just too much. I think many of the elites are in a decent spot right now. Although it could be fun to tweak with some traits to make some skills give an aura effect when used.

I would suggest in every elite, the upkeep cost would be high enough that it CAN’T be permanent.

Also, I don’t see how frost is any more powerful than the current iteration of the dwarf elite damage reduction.

Make Function Gyro capable of opening chests from range and it will make me a happy camper.

On paper all looks okish.

Traits – depends on numbers and whether or not they have ICD and if so, how long etc.

Gyros – I dunno, it sounds as if they can be destroyed, CCed, and are also on a timer. They didn’t give them active skills so I have a feeling it’s somewhat a lazy way to make a toolbelt skill. They sound very niche and very limited. I dunno how it’s supposed to be better than some of the other options like Gear Shield, Healing Turret etc.

Hammer – depends on numbers and cooldowns. Some of these skill sound very uninspired/without additional effects. Thunderclap sounds like Ele’s Glyph of Storms in Air attunement at best. If it’s a simple weapon then I will be disappointed given how we have no weapon swap.

Bottomline, if hammer is good and gyros suck it will be back to kits since we have no weapon swap.

I hope hammer can stand on its own since they designed this ES with gyros in mind so it shouldn’t rely on kits to be useful.

With the change to Shared Empowerment it’s very easy to reach permanent 25 stacks o might with no rune of strength. 18 to the group, 25 on self.

The only problem with Mallyx is that it still requires Corruption. It can’t be swapped in without it’s corresponding trait line, like Ventari or Jalis. This means that Mallyx is the only legend that can’t be used with Herald/Invocation/Devastation

Why not ? Mostly you just cut on Torment duration but with runes/food it’s still pretty close to or max.

Already ran in BWE2 mallyx without corr line to test it.

I am NOT making any ascended armor. I don’t play often enough to warrant it and actually prefer to make more exotic armors to have different options than just ascended + different professions and so on (armor wise). I do have ascended jewelery though.

That said I have sigils and runes ready for 3 different builds I have in mind for revenant. Need to get some bags and maybe buy 1 set of gear and rest with karma.
I also got Balthazar’s outfit specifically for the revenant and balthazars axe/mace/sword/hammer skins.

Got Superior Sigils of Force, Accuracy, Water, Renewal, Superior Runes of Rage (x120 because of their price increase soon probably), Superior Runes of Tormenting, Superior Runes of Altruism.

Got 113+ Tomes of Knowledge, ~5-6 1-20 scrolls. Will still do 100% map with him.

Now I need to get a couple of weapons. 1 hammer, 1 staff, 1-2 shields, 2-4 swords, 1 axe.

“Embrace the Darkness now applies a lot of torment in an area, twice as much as before. I’m looking at adjusting the cast time or upkeep cost for it to make it a bit more in line with the new functionality.”

So is it like 2 stacks of torment every 1 second? That’s what I get from it seeing as it was 1 every 1 sec before with self applied torment.

If that is the case then I like the power increase and focus on torment as our go-to condition.

Also having thought a bit more about new UA i think it’s fine. Chill + Torment per pulse is actually quite nice. In previous BWE I was sometimes annoyed if I lined AoE and I or someone else would displace everything out of stacked aoe dmg :P

I also think we do need ability to stack a lot of stacks of torment (which we will have now I guess) relatively fast due to removals removing whole stack. On my Engineer I got a lot of covers due to aplying many different conditions. Rev doesn’t have this so it’s ok if he can stack a lot of it quite fast because it is also easily removed.

Sorry, but how did the changes to Mallyx have anything to do with it? you always were able to cap Torment Duration with 45% from Runes, the 33% from the Trait and Food/whatever.

Tbh I have no idea what I was thinking about when I wrote that part of my post.

I think I meant that the effectiveness (end power result) of it will be more or less better due to increases in torment duration (base ones) across the board for mallyx.

That or I simply worded that part of post poorly.

I am not interested in wasting (yes, wasting) money on random RNG stuff that is garbage and never get what I want to get.

If they all had an epic battle at the end of their feeding cycle there wouldn’t be as many dragons still around as they’d have killed one another.

This possibility does present one interesting question though:

What if originally there were more dragons?

Glint’s history as well as the lore of Cantha, Bone Dragons, Rotscale, and the appearance of both Zhaitan’s dragon-shaped champions and the Claws of Jormag indicate that there was once a race of dragons – or rather, many races of dragons.

It’s been a theory of mine for a while that the Elder Dragons might have been ‘greedier’ dragons that consumed more magic than others, lived longer, and grew more powerful than the others and slowly killed said others off – or twisting them into their slaves like Glint.

It would seem in the Elder Dragons’ best interest – given that their minions state things like eternal rule of their dragon and various other indications which point to the Elder Dragons not wanting to go back to sleep – to kill the other Elder Dragons.

But it makes sense for them not to make a move at first, because they’re weakened. If Zhaitan, for example, made a move against the sleeping Mordremoth of Kralkatorrik what would prevent Primordus or Jormag (or the DSD) from making a move on Zhaitan after he’s expelled a bunch of energy killing (and perhaps wakening unintentionally) Mordremoth and Kralkatorrik.

They probably see it far riskier to attack other Elder Dragons than to attack civilizations, so fighting the other ED is an ‘end-game’ for them. In this scenario.

Granted maybe that is why Glint was the only Dragon Champion still active. After the dragons went to sleep she was the one that killed the other Champions to secure an advantage for Kraalkatorrik.

We don’t really know when Glint was freed, but it seems likely to be before Kralkatorrik fell asleep given that it was Glint that hid the four races (Mursaat fled the world so of the five they weren’t hidden).

And as Aaron said, we have knowledge of other Elder Dragons having powerful minions about before their awakening – the risen Giganticus Lupicus was corrupted during the last dragonrise; Drakkar who woke up Jormag; the Great Destroyer who was meant to wake Primordus.

Interestingly, Kralkatorrik is the only dragon to not have been woken by a minion or had a minion around while it was asleep (not considering the fully unknown DSD). Mordremoth didn’t have a living dragon champion that was allied to him, going off of both Malyck and the Pale Tree’s sylvari being not Mordrem Guard thus indicating that the cave was purified somehow and not a case of the Pale Tree being the sole freed tree; but despite this Mordy made one in his slumber by pure chance of Scarlet entering the machine.

This could easily explain the small gap between Kralkatorrik and Mordremoth’s rise. Primordus was also pushed late by the Great Destroyer’s death. If Primordus was “meant” to rise in GW1’s time, and Mordremoth was “meant” to rise when it did, then Primordus and the DSD likely awoke at the same time (give or take a decade) and Kralkatorrik was likely meant to have awakened ~50 years prior to the game, rather than 5.

Kralkatorrik’s minion was Glint. She simply betrayed him in the end

Minions probably disappear or are devoured maybe except the strongest ones (like shadow of dragon, tequatl, shatterer, glint etc)

Then dragons go to sleep for around 25000 years again until next cycle.

Scouting force send in to measure enemy’s strength and tactics.

Also what purpose is there to attack a city like DR? It’s harder to reach, better defended and harder to get to.

By attacking outskirts it effectively cuts their food supply by killing farmers, animals and destroying fields. It also cuts trade routes.

All of it may also be a simple distraction to have enemy focus on this “big event” when there is another thing going undercover.

You know, right hand doesn’t know what left hand s doing.

It also plays long game. So Mord is not in rush. He can allow himself to do it slowly step by step. Remember DEAD bodies can become mordrem just as live being can. You kill mordrem ? He regrows it. Mordrem kills you? You can become mordrem.

Also Mordremoth does not consider us threat probably or even a challenge. To him we simple “are” and nothing else. It’s a being that’s well over 25000 years seeing as this cycle took place in the past.

We as players (in-game) are simply incapable of understanding him and how vast his plans stretch. It’s a being beyond out understanding.

Also Elder Dragons are not a race. All of the are different. More anything they are forces of nature made manifest.

Yes I do like it and a lot more than Forge (which wa stupid imo).

Both definitions of scrapper fit Elite Spec theme perfectly.

Actually prefer it to every other name because it’s not so lol-high-fantasy-like like reaper for example.
