Noticed this too. ESpecially visible with sword aa. Even Impossible odds doesn’t seem to help with it. Maybe it’s animations but sword AA feels really off.
Dmg and all is good but that feeling…

Fifteen chars
I like, for a change, an easier dps rotation seeing as my main is engineer so I appreciate that rev is easier but that’s good. Finally a good autoattack that’s not a waste to use.
You haven’t looked good enough
It does.
hammer+sw/sw shiro/jalis.
Running Zerker but thanks to jalis I manage to keep myself alive
Just don’t complain OP if you die because you had 0 energy and could’t use Riposting Shadows.
You are wrong Dante. It was 2 stacks total. One on an outgoing projectile and one on projectile return. It was never 4 total. Also dmg total remains the same. It simply was combined from two smaller hits into a bigger one.
There’s nothing to argue here really. That’s my personal experience, Roy himself and a lot of other players.
Anyone knows where to get it ?
Aegis, reflection/barriers, and allied burst healing, off the top of my head. I haven’t actually played a raid yet though, so I can’t comment with surety.
Aegis: I already went over it. Instead of getting hit once every 2-3 sec like vs archdiviner it would be kittens every 1. Boss also was hitting like a wet noodle, so any class would face tank him. The problem was preventing AoE 1 shots by standing in select areas and by avoiding the orbs which could hit for like 1-2k
Reflect/barrier: Not needed. Besides, Rev is better at blocking projectiles as its built into hammer, 6 sec duration, 12 sec cooldown.
Allied burst healing: Druid surpassed the guardian in heal by about 10x, i am not even kidding. A single druid would keep the whole raid up. There is a reason they are changing druid healing coefficients a little bit.
Before playing the raid, i was thinking we would have to stack guardians/eles. But after playing it i can tell you will need
Chronos: Acclarity is HUUGE
Engie/scrapper: Good DPS and Condi which is a MUST for raids.
Druids: No explanation needed. A druid with 0 healing power would heal better than a full cleric guard and also provide SUPERIOR DPS to any cleric classes
Herald: Pulsing might, fury, prot, regen, reflects. superior single target DPS due to shiry swiftness and 50% INCREASED BOON DURATION AURA
Reaper: Good melee DPS and tankability in 1. Can soak hits nicely. Once boss hits 50%, gravedigger pushes DPS above any class.
+/- Tempest: Does more of what the ele already offers. Not a must but a good addition.
Herald doesn’t have reflects. More, Revenant as a whole doesn’t have a single reflect.
Found it to be pretty much useless.
No Grinding! Only farming for 3000 hours, whipping out your wallet, throwing money into the RNG toilet, and giving up your first born for one weapon skin or shoulder item! It’s fun right! Not having fun to look cool is so fun.
Are you forced to get that weapon skin ? No. It’s a choice. If you do it it’s because you want it. It’s just an item skin. You can live without having it.
I for one am really happy that new maps are so…platformish
no regrets
Why do people feeld they MUST get what they want HERE AND NOW?
Fix this ASAP! Took day free to play and already stuck on prologue.
This should be nr1 prio atm to allow people to even play.

How is 6 challenges a metric ton to “just unlock”. Unlocking elite (not fully, just unlock) is 60 HP which = 6 Jungle challenges.
Right into the gutter along with fuel mechanics for gyros and our secial mechanic (because stupid F mechanic would tke like 5 seconds to figure out as a band aid solution for gutted mechanic).
We got half-elite spec with half of our stuff out.
@ColinJohanson.2394 if you read this, why did you get so excited talking about fuel mechanic when it’s just boring cooldown ? Is this the case where you spoke about something NOT in the game? I thought you guys didn’t speak about thins that are not yet in the game to not get called out on it later? Guess what Colin
I am calling you out on it right now. Fuel = boring normal cooldowns so where is our cool “fuel” mechanic ?
(edited by Killyox.3950)
213 or 214 ;p
probably max you can have
Not a weapon really but… Jalis hammers? XD
Hammer is OK but bit slowish, Mace/Axe s nice for tagging due to 2,3,5 skills
Rage > Strength for rev. Strength is somewhat good wth herald but nothing superb.
Bought 120 Rage runes to have 6 for myself and later to sell the rest.
Bought for 11s 34c and now they are over 77s. Will probably increase even more because they are really good for revenant and will help keep close to 100% fury uptime with right traits even without herald/glint. So easy +5% dmg and constant +40% crit chance (with trait) allowing you to pick some other stats in place of precision.
Also with other people Fury and Might can be stacked as easily and rage are cheaper atm. Rage runes also allow for more variated builds than strength runes which depend totally on might generation so it pretty much locks you in herald while rage runes are perfectly fine with every legend.

yeah lets make it easy for rangers to exploit their 2000+ range longbow shots, as an engineer the only worthwhile good thing it offers is being able to hold number key and auto toss nades wich should be implemented to the core mechanic as a whole
Even better, just holding left mouse button. RMB is for target lock/clear, alt by default for Action Camera toggle on/off and there’s also possible toggle for aoes snap to target’s legs.
It’s aso a lot easier to kite while looking at your enemy since S will now make you run back instead of backpedalling.
I will definitely try the hell out of it and options it offers.
So I have just finished watching Action Camera in… action here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kbTbs3YC_g&t=1h05m20s.
I must say that this is now my Nr 1 feature for HOT above all else right now. Maining engineer and will also make Rev Day 1 and I really appreciate Action Camera, how it works and how it has been thoroughly thought through and through.
Anyone else liking it as much as I do ?
Thanks Joel
Master of Corruption or self-debuff/condi send-out will never be a play style. Mallyx rev was a perfect example of what will happen. Devs will complain it interferes with the cleansing condi meta and will remove it. I like the play style. It’s unique but will sadly never get its day.
Mallyx got a buff to Pulsating Pestilence which is pretty much about copying conditions on yourself to others.
Pulsating Pestilence 15s ICD
25% chance when struck to copy all conditions currently on you to nearby foes for a few seconds (3). Radius 240.
So for 3s it copies all stuff on you to nearby dudes every 1 sec.
It’s still a lil bit underpowered I think but oh well, it’s there.
What NapTooN said pretty much :P Same for everyone.
Kalla and Pyre not epic enough XD
They didn’t change entire sea to jade XD
Dagger is best, GS is most fun & rewarding and no amount of range can save the Axe (and btw 12k crit on GC is not true.. its a channeled ability that a guy with no legs can Dodge)
Dodge is not this magical infinite thing you can spam 24/7. There are a lot of other things players will want to dodge. Replying to every single skill “they will dodge it” is a bit overreacting because players won’t have dodge for every skill someone has. Lets be realistic here. Often it’s also not 1v1 but x vs x where nr of dodges is static but nr of things you want to dodge out of increases.
I don’t see the problem.
Dagger is better at 50%+ against two targets and allow you to us focus or warhorn for their respective dps skill.
GS is better against 3 targets at all time and it’s better against whatever numbers of enemies at less than 50%.
Seem that both have strength and weakness and the best way to play the reaper will be to use both weapons correctly. Sound better than just using GS or just Dagger.
Oh and Gravedigger is still powerful at 50%. I’m not sure but I think that GS will still be part of the optimal rotation at 50%. But I might be wrong there.
You only need 1 enemy sub 50% for GD to strike EVERY enemy hit for increased dmg. So 1 enemy at 100% hp and other sub 50% and GD already beats Dagger.
GS is more versatile. If anything just use both guys :P
There is one problem, just slight one. No range!
That’s not a problem. It’s using right tools for the job. Screw is worse than hammer at putting in the nails :P
If you want range use other weapons. If you want dagger + gs strengths use both, if you prefer to have ranged option then ditch either gs or dagger for it.
It’s making choices:P
Not a big deal. I’ll treat it like levelling in other mmos.
also
“Again, hero challenges are worth 10 points each in the jungle. So no you don’t need to go do 200-400 jungle challenges.”
That may be the case, but many of the jungle heropoint challenges will most likely require gliding and/or mushroom jump masteries. So it will still take you at least hours before you could even get near the amount of heropoints needed to unlock the Herald completely.
That’s still nothing.
I would be fine even if it took 20-30h to unlock it completely. Just treat is as leveling up to new level cap in other games such as WoW.
The only thing I would change I guess would be to make it account wide so if someone has 8 revs or any other class he doesn’t have to unlock it again but gets it as a lvl 80 reward.
(edited by Killyox.3950)
Why do you say “Glint or Herald” when glint=herald :P It’s like saying butter or butter :P
Anyways we are fine without Herald. It’s not be-all-end-all and with recent changes Jalis is shaping up to be a nice legend.
WvW is gonna be gross, PVE skipping will be a huge joke… wow wtf were they thinking with this.
How do you skip anything with Gyro being visible at all times and pulling aggro…
I don’t see the problem.
Dagger is better at 50%+ against two targets and allow you to us focus or warhorn for their respective dps skill.

I’m not saying you should only use Greatsword ever in very situation, but the other weapons should not eclipse Greatsword. Do you want a speed increase? Switch to Warhorn. Do you need to remove a boon? Switch to Focus. Do you need an Immobalize and some hp back? Switch to Dagger. Those are few examples, but Greatsword should be the main weapon for Reaper, not Dagger.
I have to agree with this.
Unfortunately I had the same impression playing in the BWEs, the situation where the GS was good is only to spam gravedigger under 50% HP, a DPS buff would be great.
I played this way: pullt mobs by GS5, then GS3 for LF, might and invul, GS4, RS5, RS4, AA
After using LF the most mobs will be under 50%, otherwise repeatIt doesn’t really mean anything, especially with raids coming, where you have to dps a single target for 6/7 minutes straight if not more.
You can use RS in raids too… especially with overflooting boons from everywhere LF will be incredible fast full
Sure, but nobody didn’t say you shouldn’t use RS and this has anything to do with the discussion Dagger vs Greatsword debate.
nobody didn’t say you shouldn’t = everybody did say you shouldn’t
this has anything to do = it has something to do with
Was this the intended message ?

Im just stating that for the common player out there, mesmers need the nerf hammer
Game isn’t balanced around common players but top players. It’s about top level play and what classes are capable of. If you balanced around common players then in top players’ hands things could be ridiculously op compared to other things.
The sky is falling threads already ? Don’t you have other things to be worried about ?:P
@pepsis, GS isn’t weaker than Dagger unless all you compare is AA and even then GS has greater range/angle and hits 3 targets and not 2. It’s not worse at all.
You can always pick Herald line for 60 HP pick, for example, Shiro and Jalis as your legends and still have very useful Facet of Nature.
60 pts gives you shield from herald and facet of nature and you can still use other legend’s skills. You’re not worse for it than necros.
(edited by Killyox.3950)
kitten ICD trait is sooo OP… so much in fact I won’t ever take it :P
Well, recent changes they gave us in a patch were just tiny part of balance changes so I have some hopes for future :P
Allow weapon swap if an engineer has no kits equipped
GG
You can’t unlock Glint, unless you have unlocked ALL of the core specs/traits/skills.
EDIT
Unlocking your elite spec is a training line in your training panel that costs hero points. You do need to have trained all the existing training lines before you’re allowed to put hero points into your elite spec.
That is so extremely lame. I personally do not like revenant very much but loved herald. So I’m basically stuck doing an insane grind with a class I don’t like, being forced to do content on a character I don’t like, then unlock I character I do like but can’t redo hero points with a class I want to do it on
How is it insane grind? How is it anymore different than levelling to new cap in other games? 40 Challenges is no biggie. No freebies here.
You have no idea what insane grind is. Ever played older Korean MMOs ? :P
You also only need 60 Hero Points to unlock Herald Line and 400 for full unlock
That limitation is by design.
well Palawa Joko can’t happen because he’s still alive and well and I think you have to channel legends from the mists
my bet is on Rurik for next legend and will give Revenant GS
They don’t have to be dead imo. I would repeat myself but I will just quote the source
“Revenants are heroes who’ve learned to commune with the Mists, a magical protoreality that makes up the fabric of space and time within the Guild Wars 2 universe. The Mists remember what came before, and echoes of those who left an especially powerful imprint on the world of Tyria can still be found there. A revenant calls upon these legendary historical figures, bringing them back into action to enhance the revenant’s own abilities and power.”
They don’t need to be dead. They have to be figures who left a powerful imprint in the mists and you can do that while alive :P.
It’s not that you siphon directly power from said beings but rather you take power from the Mists which containt imprint (blueprint/copy) of said beings power.
So source of the power = the Mists. Type of power = depends on which imprint you “load”. That’s the way I see it. If it makes up the fabric of space and time then space and time as a concept does not exist in them. So it doesn’t matter whether or not X is alive or dead because in the msits he is both and none at the same time.
Imagine yourself being the mists for the sake of example and bruce lee being the imprint. You got your own martial prowess and use Bruce’s fighting style (imprint). I hope I don’t have to explain that this is loose comaprison and I am not saying revs get power from themselves :P
I remember ANet saying how you could channel Legends from the future theoretically but that wouldn’t make too much sense in GW2 to channel legends that are not yet known to us, thus past legends.*
That’s why they put focus on channeling heroes from the past. To underline the fact that they are not from the future. Theoretically it could be argued that past =/= present and that would be a valid argument I guess.
(edited by Killyox.3950)
Not a big deal. I’ll treat it like levelling in other mmos.
also
“Again, hero challenges are worth 10 points each in the jungle. So no you don’t need to go do 200-400 jungle challenges.”
Yes rly. Rev’s power source is The Mists which are past, present and future combined. There is no such thing as “dead” there:P.
Also afaik Mallyx is still alive and well.
Palawa Joko
Turai Ossa
King Doric/Adelburn/(prince) Rurik
Undead Lich(Vizier Khilbron)
Master TogoThese are the ones I think they will choose from. Not necessarily all of them.
1) cool
2) meh
3) boring/not epic enough
4) cool but gets into necro’s field :P
5) boring/not epic enough
Palawa is still alive. I can also see Archemorus, Saint Viktor, Vizu or Kanaxai happening.
What does it matter?
ANet already said they don’t have to be dead to channel their power.
So Sneak Gyro has become even worse than it was. I can’t see myself ever using it. It’s pretty much useless everywhere except wvwvw i guess.
Other changes seem good but CD increase on gyros was a bit premature. If they still die fast then we are looking at an actual increase in CD. If they live it’s okish but not spectacular.
Not a word about Hammer #2 which has huge delay.
Sneak is by FAR BETTER than before, what are you talking about? Before it was:
- 44s Max Stealth with 30s CD (16s Downtime without Stealth)
Now it is:
- 44s Max Stealth with 45 CD (ONE FREAKING SECOND Downtime without Stealth)
Explanation: After The Duration of 30s, the Gyro would have stacked 14s of Stealth on you. At that Point, the previous 30s CD triggered, leaving you with 16s without Stealth. After the Changes, the CD of 45 will start as soon as you summon, so after the Duration of 30s you have 14s of Stealth left and 15s of CD left, leaving you at 1s without Stealth.
Whoever thinks that is a nerf, needs to clean their glasses, that it totally a buff, especially in Stronghold where permanently removing Allied Archers/Doorbreakers/Heroes from the Minimap can be pretty devastating to the Enemy.
No, it is worse because if it dies before full duration then it’s actually a lot worse :P. Also this doesn’t matter anymore anyways since they have changed it again.
The biggest value I see in stealth from sneak gyro is for enemy to keep losing target for skills and not seeing what skill we are using.
It still sucks and I don’t like it. If I wanted more stealth I would’ve played thief :P
(edited by Killyox.3950)
it’s written Bifrost, not Bitfrost :P. Sup with people and bits?

@Roy
How about changing Brutal Blade to 360 attack? Keep maximum nr of targets as it is as well as dmg and vuln but make it 360. Small flavourful change keeping all stats the same just sometimes striking on sides/behind with preference for front.
copies use your stats, transfers use original stats
