For world stuff like events, levelling, pve I like Scrapper a lot but sometimes miss that OOMPH! which I get out of Holosmith

So I’ve played Scrap Rifle Field Test and kinda wondered why our #1 isn’t like in that scrap rifle. Tbh I had more fun playing with that than our normal rifle and dmg was actually what I would expect from it as well.
Wouldn’t mind some changes to our rifle – a mix between scrap rifle’s and our skills
Tbh I did the fight on 1st try but I have to admit that during it I was thinking to myself how annoying it is and that for many people/char builds it may be a little too hard.
Cramped up space doesn’t add any meaningful gameplay experience at all, regardless if it’s easy or not.
I’d start by making engie rifle an actual shotgun :P
With #1 hitting rather hard and 3 targets in front, range ~800-900 and ~45 degree cone.
It just needs more OOMPH on #1 and maybe even bit stronger blunderbuss (maybe added vuln stack to it?).
I honestly hate how engie doesn’t use his #1 attacks almost at all. Would also buff hammer #1 dmg, and decrease windup on #1 chain 3 attack.

I have recently returned after ~2,5 years break.
I used to do a lot of pvp in the old system and do living story seasons up until certain point 100%, less % completion later on.
Right now I look for a guild that does some dungeons/fractals/raids and open world content. Overall, a guild that is active, not neccessarily big.
I have lvl 80 Engineer (main)/Revenant(main alt)/Mesmer/Necro and 7x thief.
I recently got full ascended gear on my engineer, but kinda having second thoughts about it
I’m in EU timezone and play mostly during evenings.
What will save this game in next expansion:
- New weapon types
- New races
- New continent (at least 12 maps)
- Events similar to SW (no HoT events)
- Better rewards (not just blue items)
- Mounts as cosmeticsdo not waste effort.
- Capes (no more wings)
- at least 36 new armor skins (12 for each class) only 2 armors/class?
- better wvw well if they wait till next expansion it will be a waste of effort as well, this needs to be here yesterday at the latest
- 2v2, 5v5 10v10 arena system Guild hall? Or maybe an event type like the Luxon/Kurzick clashes in gw1
- pvp armors and rewards pls do not make seperate armors place them in new dungeon tracks and also oblige the rewards for your next suggestion:
- 6 new dungeons with 3 path each
- 2 new raids only with Normal / Expert settings, don’t care for the present dungeons as I have ~1-2 hours of playing time an evening and ppl take 1 hour to group, so in the end I do 0-60 minutes of raiding (if lucky) and it’s no fun
- new and better crafting (fishing, treasure hunting, archeology or something…) Well what would you drag out of the water, dig up or something?
- rare monsters with rare drops Yes pls
- new fractals Yes pls….
- new elite specs yes pls
- no gating and no “we will nerf this so you must play that attitude” wrong, reinstate dungeons first
… and that my friends is worth 60$ and ppl who were mad enough to buy HoT in Ore should get 20,- reduction, repay me for my trust, which A-Net’s staff broke by lying: “No grind?, no gating, no more levels, easy accesible content, you choose what to play BUT NO DUNGEONS. Everybody should be playing everywhere BUT WE MAKE RAIDS ELITE CONTENT”added a bit and gave small comments in bold
Also use older content but do not dare mentioning it as part of the expansion:
- Marionette
- Perma SAB (still hate it but it’s a shame to see it wasted)
- Dungeons v1.1 (buff bosses a bit to compenssate for ~20% added dps from ascneded gear) and return the rewards.
- Toxic Tower
- Bazaar of the four winds, The survivers should have build something new by now?
- Return to the molten dungeon path (add it to SE)
- Queen’s Gift a permanent rentree of the Queen’s Jubilee- UP ALL REWARDS 1 LEVEL (junk is only for the completely numbed out farmer, instead give us 1 level higher then what we receive now. )

Dungeon bosses should not be balanced around people in ascended gear. That’s what you have raids for. If you buff bosses for ascended geared ppl than exotic geared people (the more casual players) will have it even worse.
I can tell what is unique:
-Energy managment
-Acces to perma; regen,fury,swiftness,might
-You cant really choose your utility skills, you change them by changing your legend, unlike other classes who can actually combine all of their utility/heal/elite skills
-Each legend, serves for a unique purpose for the reason stated above
-Of all classes, its probably the one that forces you(or at least it inspired me) to look more into Guild wars lore, hell i didtn even know who kralkatorrik was until i looked up for glint, and i have been playing for a VERY long time.
-Visual effects are unique
-Mistward armor looks kitten
-This may be not unique, but…the class itself feels like a combination between guardian and thief (at least when using shiro/glint)Can’t really tell you about damage stategy or mitigation, because im not so experienced in those.
-energy management is an illusion. More cooldowns added, less actual management since ou are still limited by CD energy or not
-Some other professions also have it. Nothing special
-all profs have unique visual effects;p
-mistward armor once unlocked can be used on every heavy
It actually does get aggro sometimes. Like from chak. But that it doesn’t 99% of the time is its redeeming quality.
I am playing also with Medic and Bulwark But they are so-so at most. For medic it’s all about toolbelt skill.
As a pve player that has no more Evon Gnashblade flairs from the Cutthroat Politics, I’m excited to have function gyro above my shoulder. It has the same function – hovers over it and looks neat. And is useless. Yeah…
I love the hammer though, combined with the traits, I have so much survivability with my zerker, it’s just awesome.
And gyros? Who cares about gyros in pve, when you have much better non gimmicky skills at your disposal.

I play my Scrapper in full Zerk and I don’t die that much in PvE.
I switched to Cele. Much preferred.
Sneak Gyro is decent in pve for stealth rezzing, getting past stuff and so on. But it and other gyros suffer from not being able to keep up with the player.
We have very noticeable wings and sounds when we cast it. What else do you want? Take control over your character so you wont attack?

24 Might stacks, zerker gear, 25 vuln stacks. Even if you critter 21k every 2s (which you won’t like ever) it would only amount to 10,5k DPS which is ~6k-7k below what engineer can do.

Tooltip is not affected. Heal is.
It also scales EXREMELY well with Healing Power. My tooltip says 470 but it heals me for 552. This alone makes Super Speed TB skill worth over 2,5k hp on use. Combine it with Water Field + Rocket Charge and you have a pretty good heal sustain. Need to try Full Cele today with condi/power wombo-combo

Player minions don’t carry over their player’s critical chance; phantasms are a special case.
It’s not even a question of carrying player’s crit chance. They don’t have crit chance at all. None. Null. Zero.
Maybe turrets wouldn’t be so bad if they could crit/carry crit over.
They got repeatedly nerfed so they are more easily destroyed but they never got compensated in another area to balance it out. Like being affected by crits and conditions but also able to inflict crits.
Change Blast Gyro to Duration 15s doing Blast finisher every 3 sec and doing DMG in aoe. Or make it shoot targets like Predator’s Plasma Cannon :P

Skills should not require 2-3 other skills to make it work to begin with. Blasting stuff just to make gyros follow? Nope. They should work by themselves.
You don’t make skills that are useless without other skills because that’s counterintuitive. You don’t need 2-3 other skills for Elixir B to work or Healing Turret to work.
Function Gyro is simply boring and lazy. It does not change the gameplay of the class, is annoying to use and weak more often than not. How does that measure up against other classes’ elite mechanics?
Also noticed them turning off sometimes for no reason even though I have been at 0 or +1 pip.

What you are describing is “to shatter” not “impact”.
Hammer is imo nr 1 Rev weap (Especially if they fix bugs). Sword is 2nd. Mace 3rd.
It’s perfect tbh and only needs to have bugs associated with terrain fixed.
3s intervals are… 3s intervals.

You get buff for 4s but it doesnt stack so you always have only 1sec advantage over interval so with 15s duration the most you can get is 19s watchful eye IF 15th secon applies watchful eye.
I always pick Balthazar :P Unless Nec then Grenth.
I find tanking/staying power in melee in shiro stance the easiest. Dodge Dodge RS Dodge RS Dodge Dodge :P Sword 3 evade, Sword 4 block, Hammer 3 evade XD
Just for rev? No. Not for the price it’s up for.
Actually it’s good because it means other skills can have other roles and not just be a part of the dps rotation thus becoming spammed on CD.
Unless they double DMG of #1 I don’t see them nerfing H2 because There are no other sources of dmg.
IT also ONLY hits for such dmg under very specific conditions. Vulnerability, low armor, zerk gear.
If zerk player hits other zerk player for a lot with it that’s fine. It does 50% less dmg at minimum range. They cannot nerf this without providing other sources of dmg that will also balance cast time:dmg ratio. Skill is also very easy to dodge or run away from due to how impacts work. Again remember that dmg is only at long range. Rangers barrage will do pretty much the same dmg at point blank and max range.
Remember Hammer and specifically Hammer 2 has an extreme amount of counterplays!. You can jump on any sort of Box, wall or w/e and it will not even hit you which is the epitome of silly. It’s completely useless against targets that aren’t on flat ground on the same level as rev. Other ranged weapons don’t suffer from this.
Skills shouldn’t be balanced around the worst players but against those who know how to play.

Overall I’d say it’s just above Beserker for least usable elite spec.

I’ve actually been enjoying druid. The pet damage changes have been amazing and thier trait lines are so much better then ours. One dedicated to long bow, one to healing, and one to pet damage. I’ve found staff a great weapon to pair with long bow as I used to use greatsword just for mobility. This is all open world pve opinion.
Seen a druid who killed with pet and focused on healing it while doing some dmg as well.
I like the hammer.
That’s about it.
Very Versatile but
Jalis is quite good. Shiro after PT nerf is… decent but not good. Herald is good, Ventari is good, Mallyx is mediocre. Hammer is fantastic. Swords are decent. Mace/axe is okish. Shield is pretty good. Staff is decent (#2 with 3/4 cast is too long)
Yes it can. What’s wrong with that ? You need max range for that a lot of might, high ferocity, berserk gear, and 25 vuln stacks on the enemy and also be sure the skill doesn’t bug out on you because of the terrain.
Where else otherwise is Rev supposed to take his dmg from ? Hammer 1? 3? 5? Vengeful hammers? Inspiring Reinforcement? Forced Engagement? Rite of the Great Dwarf?
As you see it does this sort of dmg because otherwise Rev will not do dmg. Rev cannot stack bazillion burns or anything of the sort. That’s why some of his attacks need to make up for it. If you simply used Hammer 1 then everyone would laugh at you :P
We don’t have 100 Blades + burst, Shatters, or backstabs. AN wanted to make hammer slow and hard hitting and #2 is just that. Single powerful attack instead of 10 weaker ones (like 100B)

I don’t mind microing tablet at all. It should be faster though.
I am also against US being the tablet. Right now I can stand at 1000 range with hammer and switch to staff to heal allies around me or buff them with herald and/or have tablet @melee range and also heal melee.
So that lets me heal both groups without having to move myself.
I don’t mind either. It’s still 300 Toughness stacked and -20% condition dmg perma. That’s huge.

Personally I think staff, bastion etc (except PT) is fine een with the nerf. Playing Ventari Herald atm with sword/shield and staff. Liking it a lot especially with more people around to heal.kitten heals from staff, shield, ventari and 550-690 regens (no food buffs etc) are pretty cool
My own biggest gripe is with CD on PT because that directly treads on our core class mechanic-energy management- while other nerfs don’t.

Jumps, as in “space”, are supposed to be affected by it. It referred to movement skills.
Jump Shot and Rocket Charge ARE movement skills.
Heartseeker, rocket boots, Warrior sword leap, Warrior GS charge, bullrush, etc. etc. aren’t supposed to be affected by conditions or movement speed buffs.

Battle for Kylo Clock Tower point. Have team mate Call Target to someone on point and you can use Flashing Blade (10s) teleport from below the point to teleport up to that person without running around. Same with Judge’s Intervention. They also have a good Leap on GS.
They have their own unique toys.

Guardians can explode all of their weapon, heal, utility and elite skills. Rev is limited by energy even for a healing skill. So apples to oranges. 5s PT on a guardian or any other class would be OP.

It feels (animation wise) like quick hit – pause – quick hit – pause -quick hit – pause rather than fluid one-two-three-short pause
That’s a given. It may seem small but bugs like this can swing balance ladder quite a bit when not fixed/fixed because of their impact on actual gameplay.

No. I don’t want it to chase thieves better. I actually rarely use this skill atm because I stick to new maps and haven’t pvped after release yet. So this assumption is unfound.
What’s the problem then ? Mobility? Why is mobility on our only mobile Legend such a problem?
Cost increase is actually better than CD. It leaves decision making in players’ hands while lowering the amount of times you can PT to enemy.
Remember Rev with the exception of Necromancer has the least amount of gap closers/mobility skills. So if they nerf this it has a huge impact on the entire class.
Distance would also help alleviate problem without making the skill useless because we wouldn;t be able to chase enemies from 1200 range. Reduction to 900 or 800 would be a huge difference in allowing our enemies to get away if they also dedicated to it. It would still allow us to close the distance in a fight without being impossible to shake down. Also why should running away be superior to chasing? That would invalidate chasing skills to begin with.
I’m 100% in agreement with the nerf. It just needs something to prevent casting when there’s no path to target
Definitely this. Right now we lose energy, get skill on CD and don’t actually get any closer to our target.
Honestly, I can’t believe how quickly so many people have become so selfish. Half the posts you can tell what spec people are using because they think x and y are fine, but how could you even think about doing z.
This was a fairly friendly, mostly productive little corner of the forum for a long time. I’d hoped it might stay that way a little longer. Hard to imagine that the way people are behaving.
Behaving like what? We are having discussions across different threads. People don’t throw insults left and right or anything of the sort. Sometimes people are more agreeable and sometimes not. We are having cultural discussion tbh.
I actually main engineer and Rev is secondary. I am also not using only Shiro (got full setup for mallyx and ventari and herald as well

Except there are at least 5 ways you could nerf PT.
Reduce/Remove dmg
Increase cost by 5-10
Remove/reduce “unblockables”
Reduce the distance travelled
Disable “teleport” function so you have to be in range of the skill for it to work (atm you can be outside and it moves you still)
We already had weapons balanced around the idea of CD + Energy but that wasn’t really for utilities. Then if they are adding CDs they should remove costs on weapons since we won’t be able to spam them regardless of energy.
Also it’s a bad habit and lazy design to keep adding more and more cooldowns to a class that was supposed to not be chained by them to this degree. There are other ways of balancing this besides CD.
Because of CD I am pretty much pigeonholed into actually switching Legends not because I want/need to but because I got stuff on CD and won’t be able to use it anyway even if I am at 100 energy.
What’s next? RShadows CD? IO CD? VHammers CD?
