Physicals and Tricks skill types seem too similar in function to add an additional play style to either Thieves or Warriors.

Post Necro- Elite Spec Speculation
Lets theorycraft here. The forum is kind of crowded, so kind of hard to find good theories.

Assuming that more than one class get the same secondary profession for elite specs:

These classes would be off the list in theory along with their skill types
*Necro
*Ranger
*Warrior

What that leaves remaining are:

Thief : ( Deception, Signet, Trick, Venom)
Guardian : ( Consecrations, Meditations, Signet, Spirit Weapon, Tomes)
Mesmer : ( Clone, Glamour, Manipulation, Mantra, Phantasm, Signet)
Engineer : ( Kits, Turrets, Gadgets, Elixir)
Elementalist Arcanes, Cantrips, Conjures, Glyphs, Signet)
Revenant : (Unknown)
——————————————————————————————————————————————————

Class remaining to get a Elite Spec reveal are:

*Rangers- (already has signets)
*Engineers-
*Warriors-(already has Signets)
*Thieves- (Already have Signets)
*Elementalist- (already has Signets)
*Revenants- (unknown)

additional theorycrafting:

*What if the Reaper isnt really Necro/Warrior, but is really Necro/Guardian or Necro/Ranger?

*What if Dragon Hunters isnt really Guardian/Ranger, but Guardian/Thief instead?

what that means is that Warrior and Ranger skills types could still be left on the table .

Here are Warrior and Ranger skill types:

*Warrior : (Signet, Physicals, Banners, Stances, Transform, Stances)
*Ranger : ( Signet, Spirits, Survival )

so please add more theories to go along with this on Elite Specs…

depends, but likely longbow or horn.

Warrior Elite Specialization - Kits

in Warrior

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

War needs some interesting play. Kits do not seem like that to me.

Think about what War needs and does not need. Group healing and stealth come to mind.

Now, what might War give up a little of? Mobility or dps are options.

currently Engineers have a Healing kit. its not great, but as we seen currently from other elite specs, the Elite Spec version of the skill type seem to be better than the classes that already have those skill types.

Dragon Hunter’s Traps > Ranger Traps
Chono’s Wells > Necro Wells
Necro Shouts > Warrior Shouts

so Warrior Heal Kit likely will be > Engineer Heal Hit…

So that could mean we get tons of support skills for support role..

Hey everybody keep in mind we don’t have to use longbow with Dragon Hunter.
I plan to use DH with Melee weapons and using traps for Melee combat. In PvP I plan to use Traps for defending cap points with Melee weapons and defensive builds..

You’re kinda gimping yourself given how you’re losing the bonus damage of “Pure of Sight” by going melee.

Thats a sacrifice worth making for melee oriented utility skills (traps) and better defense of team.

what about ’’tricks’’ . I guess it might seem similar to physical skills but theres still room for some more creative utility

thats the problem with many of the Thief skill types is that they arent unique enough in effect mechanics as what many classes already have.

Tricks = Physicals by a different name. dont want…

I want something new.

Wells are new to Mesmers.
Traps are new to Guardians.
Shouts are new to Necromancers.
Tricks/Phsicals are not unique to Warriors… dont want…

I believe Kits can work, just need a bit more added restrictions such as some kits only have 2-3 skills rather than 5 like Engi kits.

When somebody leaves battle

in PvP

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

If you’re talking about during the minute and a half of waiting before a battle begins, then that’s just someone who is already on your team who decided to exit the game to character select, then log in on a different character. This is usually done because they decide that other character would bring more to their matched team.

If this is happening during an actual match, after the “waiting for players” has ended and the match has begun…..then I have no idea, as it shouldn’t happen.

talking about the later.

Death Shroud Vs Shroud Knight

in Necromancer

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

I think shroud knight is gonna overshadow (pun not intended) Death Shroud, due to the stipulation that life blasts gets better if you are under 600 range of the target, life blast also fires very sloooooowly compared to the new shroud knight auto attack, making all the old procs super awesome now, and mediocre with life blast. So I’m going to make a simple suggestion; remove the range restriction from life blast to compensate for its shortcomings to make it a meaningful choice, do I want to blast safely from range with all of its well known drawbacks, or do I go face to face and reap (ok this one was intended) the benefits of attacking faster.

Thoughts?

DS’s skill 4 and 5 still superior tho.

About Cooldown on Elite Shout. 180s. Am I the only one that remembers trait -7% recharge time per target hit up to -35% CD? Which (if you hit 5 targets) reduces CD from 180s to 117s.

I like reaper tbh and his skills. They don’t have to be better than other skills. That would actually hurt the class and limit options if they were. You may still want to use non-spec skills even in repear like spectral grasp, wall and so on. Specwall will still Chill opponents when you fear them in Reaper spec and thus can do more dmg with dmg on chill and chill novas procs too.

There are many mixups with existing skills in Reaper.

Problem is we have no reason to use this new elite or heal over the old skills at all. So thats really 4 new skills we got instead of 6.

I’d reduce elite CD to maybe around 90 seconds or so. 120 seems to be too much for what’s basically a 10 second immunity to conditions (assuming best case scenario) or less.

right now, I likely wont ever use this new elite honestly. The baseline elites are better.

what you think the likeliness of Engineer getting the Breakbar is?

would be nice if it healed allies instead on pulse and blind at end.

"DragonHunter" name feedback [merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

Paragon likely coming when they add Spears to the main game. No point added paragon when the weapon is long bow.

And Dragon Hunters fit, since they are similar to Demon Hunters in theme from Diablo 3…. Except we hunt Dragons in this universe.

Demon Hunters were normal humans whose families were killed by demons, and now use their hatred and training to hunt them down. Guardians are already fully trained and powered humans, who are now suddenly big game dragon hunters? Yeah, no.

Still in Diablo universe Demons are Synonymous with Evil.
in GW2 universe Dragons are synonymous with Evil.
So across universes Demon and Dragon are one in the same.

Those who call themselves demon hunters are not a people or a nation. They owe allegiance to no king. They are but a remnant – an echo – of those who’ve lost their lives to hellspawn. When their homes are burnt and their families butchered by demons, most newly scarred refugees give up on living – but a few bury their dead, band together, and swear vengeance.

Though they are small in number, hunters track and corner demons in the hopes that, if they can save even one life, their world will be better for it. At the end of a day’s hunt, most still close their eyes and have nightmares in which they see the horrors that brought them together: gore-caked claws, and men and women drowning in their own blood.

Awake, demon hunters see much the same. But, now, in the present, they finally have the power to retaliate.

They dare not dream of victory, or, even less likely, peace. And yet, they hunt. They can do nothing else.

again replace everywhere you see Demon with Dragon, and you have GW2’s Dragon Hunter. they are the same theme across universes, just as Guardians in GW2 are the same theme as Paladins in World of Warcraft just in different universes and different names,,,

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/class/demon-hunter/ here is the Diablo 3 Demon Hunter. Same concept. people could say all classes hunt demons right? right??

Idea: Druid gets Kits-Animal Kits

Idea of mine.

Druid gets Kits, but called Totems.

Each Totem is based on a animal creature. And it shapeshifts the Druid into that creature, replacing 1-5 weapon skills.

This way we can get some transformations in the mix, along with a range of different skill types for different roles.

New Speculation on Elite Specs = Dual Class

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Knighthonor.4061

Knighthonor.4061

This explains the reveal order and the subclasses:

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/

The reveal order is the order of the classes, and the subclass is one of the classes in the row below the reveal order.

As you can see, mesmer got necro, guard got ranger, necro got warrior.

That means ranger gets ele, and if I had to guess i’d say that:

ele gets thief, warrior gets engineer, thief gets mesmer and engineer gets guardian.

Of course it could just be really weird luck and mean nothing, but 3 for 3 is at least worth noting.

If they are indeed following this pattern that means that necro crossed over to the warrior instead of going straight down to the ele. Therefore the ranger will likely cross over to the ele. Then assuming this pattern of straight down then cross over repeats itself, ele gets thief, warrior gets engineer, thief gets guardian and engi gets mesmer.

The more I think about that, and based on my previous post, the more I like the idea of a Thief/Guardian spec

what you believe Thief would get from Guardians?
