in the end, the issue always come up. but Same Gender Marriages will cause issues with people. Simple as that.

thats why most developers leave such a feature out, or leave it in private instances.

Why take so long to add new fun features?

What you will inevitably figure out at some point is that fun is entirely subjective to a certain point of view. MMO’s that target everyone end up pleasing no one. You have to know who your target market is and continue to deliver for that market.

It’s clear to me that GW2 is extremely casual. What I dislike about their current strategy however, is how they add long, boring, tedious grinds to the game and hope people buy gems to make it consume less time. This is a hallmark of F2P games especially in Asia where the population is very easily exploitable.

I’m afraid that the subscription model will be making a come back since Arenanet couldn’t find a way to stay profitable without incorporating grinds.

Fun is subjective, but thats why I asked for New Features.

Something new. Not just new additions to old features ( aka new living story. We already have LS. Why not a new feature? We already have JP, and Dungeons. I like something new to go to the list)

Honestly, at this point, I dont even care if the feature is buggy or not. I just want new features to play and enjoy.

I would like each profession to gain 6 more elite skills to pick.

3 can be more of the traditional long cooldown elite skills (just hopefully they more useful this time around across the board to warren a use)

and the last 3 can be short cooldown elites that are on the same level as utility skills to be more active in our combat role.

I really dont like this concept of no updates during WvW Seasons.

many people use to enjoy WvW a lot. But over time, holes in the design have come to surface.

New updates and new enjoyable features are whats makes the game’s lasting appeal greater.

not this restriction on content based on season balancing. Imagine if PvE was built like that. this game would have fail apart.

I come back to WvW, and this game, each time with the hope that something new is added to greatly improve the game.

But with this new concept, I no longer even have that to look forward to now. Servers sometimes are outmanned, and no good fights. thats was the only interesting part was the hope that the game will be improved by Anet. now we have to do more waiting between updates.

I just hope you come off your stance on this.

I really dislike that Sieges are never used for ground forces.

Nobody uses Trebs in WvW for supporting ground troops when fighting other ground troops.

its always built for attacking walls and gates.

Same with other sieges. They always built on a keep/tower/etc for defense/offense of structures, but never in any other way.

I wanted sieges to be something more in this game. We have only 1 mobile siege, and even that is pretty much used solely on gate destruction.

I like some sieges that can be built to help zergs hold the line like a bunker, or something with some offensive push, that isnt used for attacking structures.

WvW could have been so much more interesting that way. but these current sieges just arent interesting.

And ranged classes say “And way over there is where I’ll kill you from!”

Line of Warding just doesnt work. its not consistent. I would like it to be given a shorter cooldown, or add additional effects to it to make it worth its long cooldown…

Same for Circle of Warding. Give it a better effect or scrap them all together.

The reason they dont want this in the game is because the want you to be able to tell and distinct each class from one another (talking if they are a soldier, caster, adventurer)

No real point of that, since we all can fight naked if we wanted to. doesnt cause balance issues.

In Orr my Norm Male Warrior stops moving randomly. I cant use WASD or Arrows.

I am forced to use my Great Sword’s #5 skill to unlock my movement again.

When I stop moving, I can still use attacks and skills. just movement keys stop working until I use great sword’s charge skill to unroot me.

Also this isnt cripple. Because it doesnt show in the UI, and sometimes I am not in combat when it does this.

Frozen Maw fight improvements:

Add giant frost monster minions spawns to the boss part of the fight that target priority on ranged fighters who are standing a certain distance from the boss, and deal increased damage the further they are from the boss. Also with higher HP.

Add Idols to the fight as well that can spawn, and blow up if not destroyed in time, dealing massive damage to players, and healing the boss and his minions half the damage they deal.

During portal fight, what about all the portals beam out magical energy to a center point, spawning a large frozen bone dragon that the Shaman is riding on, and need to be killed for boss to jump off.

The Expansion does exist. Just because developers tell you there isnt, doesnt mean there really isn’t. thats how development business is handled.

Did you see all those missing zones? those are already made, and need to be developed further and polished.

No MMO developer stops at launch. Even WoW had expansions planned all the way to Cata before vanilla WoW was even launched, even tho they repeated that they didnt.

Lets clear the mist.

1. MF does not affect: chests, quest-loot, map-completion-loot, Mystic Toilet, or boss-loot.

2. Every player has a 1% chance to get rare items. If you have 100% MF increase, it means that you have 2% to get a rare item (1% base + 100% increase = 2%).

A person that has 300% MF increase has an effective 4% chance to get a rare item (instead of 2% for an average person that has only 100% MF).

That’s. It.

If the OP would have flipped the TP, instead of the whole tedious salvage cycle, he could have bought a truck load of ectoplasms by the thousands, which is what this is all for, in a fraction of the time. For reference, I can flip 25g for 20 minutes a day, do the math yourself how much ectoplasms can be straight bought (and I’m not the best at it by far).

Oh and about bragging; I’d like to tell you all that I think I’ll open a ticket that the purple color for legendary-name-tags is not good enough because ……. oh yeah I HAVE SUNRISE!!!!

Give us a trait that allow Spirit Weapons to stay up as permanent minions
while increasing their health by 100% and improving their effects in some way with an additional passive ability on them like the following:

*Spirit Sword – grants might and fury to random allies every few seconds.

*Spirit Hammer – attacks have a chance to cause Torment and Confusion.

*Spirit Shield – has chance to cast Symbol of Judgment at your location.

*Spirit Bow – has a chance to remove boons from enemy and apply them to a ally. also has a chance to move conditions from ally and place them on enemy.

I believe the general impression is that if Anet releases x-pacs too soon before more news from competition, than they risk the chance of losing consumers to the new MMO hypes out there on the way.

But this game is B2P. Who cares about that. Sell interesting x-pacs. Some people will leave regardless. and some will stay if the content is interesting enough.

Whats your thoughts on this?

Rather than closing them, mounts, raids, duels, race change and other recurring subjects should be stickied and support/objections be posted in those threads instead of starting new ones.

Problem is, people have different ideas on how to do those things.

Mounts for example. people have their own opinion and ideas for how mounts could work and perform.

merging all of them into a single thread leads to ideas being berried like it was in Guild Wars 2 Guru suggestion forum stickies. It was a bad idea to make that kind of modding practice.

Which would mean the strong server would only need to focus on 1 enemy……

And just merging servers like that would never work.
The servers have learned how to work within itself. Suddenly adding loads of new people that play in a completely different way would lead to rather major issues.

that would still give them better chance to fight and have fun than playing outmanned 24/7.

Capes been done since DAOC for crying out loud. Even WoW can do them. that no excuse, especially since Gw1 did it as well.

Modern day engines should have no problem doing them.

That would mean that you have no chance of getting relief from a third server when you are getting stomped.

No.
When population is low, it becomes a two faction fight, as in 2 of the lower population servers merge in WvW against the larger server.

Time and Fun in the game are both fading.

I had some fun in WvW, especially during the big fights. I kind of enjoyed the huge zerg fights when sieges were used beside just karts and trebs.

Also some events in the game were actually kind of fun to play. I really liked the events when we defending a city from invasions. lol. not all of them were fun, but some were.

Also meta events rock. Like the Meta in Frost, and some of the meta in orr. Yeah some meta are poorly done and fun on those faded sooner than others.

I never played SPvP at all since beta. Was never interested in 5v5 arena matches. So never tried it. Just not my thing in MMOs.

Crafting, wasnt anything special. feels very grindy with no special mini games to make it interesting in anyway.

There isnt many skills to collect that are actually interesting. I got most of my alts past level 30 to get their elites. nothing else really left to enjoy from the skills. Been using, and seeing most of the skills currently playable, in some form or another these past months. whats new?

Not much cool and fun things left to do.

Dungeons are not fun anymore. And Zerg Train was fun at first, but became dull now since its only done in 2 zones on my server. Would be kind of cool in the future if the bosses had some powerful anti zerg attacks that we would have to learn to avoid. keeps the combat interesting.

Some fun times. Enjoyed it. was worth the money invested.
Can be pretty cool to see what Anet’s next MMO project will be.

WvW just isnt fun when playing constantly on outmanned servers.

How about when situations like this happen, you turn WvW into a 2 faction mode instead of 3 factions. because these smaller worlds simply dont have the WvW numbers to have any decent fun anymore.

I remember back in June or so a-net released a developers article or something and they promised us new weapons or skills by the end of the year for all classes. Does anyone have any recent info on this because we’ve got less than two months before they break their promise…

It won’t be until after december 11 (ie when wvw season ends) at the earliest based on what dev’s have said. Although we did get that new healing skill for all professions…….

they said it would be class skills. the new heal isnt a class skill, since everybody got it no matter what class they are.

because it still slows characters down. and what if something is already chasing you from aggro bubble? Slowing down could cause you to get hit and be placed in combat.

Anybody else tired of Fall damage mechanic placing characters in combat?

Sometimes character travel the map, on foot, and use the out of combat speed boost for traveling large distances in shorter times.

But fall damage will put you in combat and force the slowed down combat speed.

Why not simply give us Travel mounts ,so the game can determine the difference between a player running the map and a player thats ready for combat?

Respectfully, Knighthonor, you’re playing the wrong game. In fact, you’re playing the wrong genre. You should go find some nice action adventure games to play.

again hate when people say this, because Levels wasnt always the Genre.

Playing with others in a world, was define this genre. not levels, since Character level trail didnt become popular until Everquest 1, and made standard from WoW which uses the same system as Everquest 1. those games were popular, but doesnt mean level locking mechanics is a good game design.

Okay, you are obviously trolling. Leveling was a huge part of RPGs well before computer games, and certainly before Everquest. Levels originated in tabletop gaming, and have been adopted by the vast majority of RPGs and MMORPGs have carried them along as a natural progression.

He’s not trolling, he’s just deluded. Note the points he keeps bringing up in his posts. FPS games. He wants MMO-RPGs to be FPS games with a fantasy skin.

What I don’t is people like him who play games they know they won’t like, and then complain about it. “I hate games with level progression. I’m going to play this game that has level progression. THIS LEVEL PROGRESSION IS STUPID AND THEY SHOULD REMOVE IT.”

The OP looks about as crazy as if I went to the Madden forums and demanded they introduce levels.

It would probably surprise you then that Anet originally conceived of GW2 as a game without level progression. I believe the point being made is simply that there is no inherent need for level progression in the MMO. The OP is not being crazy, just thinking the same thoughts as the Anet devs did before him.

Yes totally. Also Sony is thinking about that as well. I enjoy playing GW2, but I would enjoy it more, if I wasnt required to do stuff I didnt enjoy(Level grinding), just so I can unlock what I do enjoy (Build Making/Exploration).
