Not sure if you read it correctly. This says you would still have to pay full price to transfer to tier 1.

Everyone suggesting 3 leagues for NA needs to go back to elementary school.

who said all groups HAD TO BE equal sized?

12/12 is a trainwreck of epic proportions that noone, in either league, will be able to enjoy

6/12/6 would have 2 out of 3 leagues somewhat fair, somewhat balanced, and somewhat interesting
while at the same time preventing both extremes of the curve (top servers and bottom servers) from interfering in the middle one….which will still be greatly unbalanced yes, but not HILARIOUSLY unbalanced as 12/12 would be

6/12/6 is evidently a far superior alternative

Because what we need is for players to yell at militia/pugs to get off the map to decrease point gains of enemy teams, good idea.

actually yes, thats what we need. the time of pugs stacking one server and that actually being benefitial has to come to an end. the only way for that to happen is if pugs are griefed and chased away by organized guilds

why do you think this is a bad idea? the coat tailer pugs were the ones creating the problem, they sure deserve to be publicly disparaged and heckled into leaving.

no no no. you never kill a spy as a first option. you flip a spy, then send him back to his original side. you only kill him if you can’t convert him. granted, in gw2, neither of those are an option, but i have a thing about realistic accuracy.

in terms of realistic accuracy, killing the spy is the most sensible course of action
first, because such individual cannot be trusted under any basis, all in all he has defected twice
second, because the time, effort and money involved is far bigger than seeding your own, more reliable spies into enemy territory
third , because his freedom is limited, you cannot “send him back” with plausible reasons, most likely he must remain in your territory or risk blowing his cover. he is in an excellent position to spread disinformation, which is quite valuable on itself, but he cant get intel on the enemy. a regular spy can do both.

D/D provides more burst but its heavily reliant on cds. you utterly wreck someone every 60 seconds or so, and inbetween your a pretty mediocre dpser.

D/P has less burst, requires preparation, provides better survivality and takes more skill in general to play. but it isnt reliant on cds so you can be a threat at any time.

other than that, your friend is a total imbecile and knows nothing of thief

I havent spent a dime in GW2 since 2 months after release

and until the day I see them focusing more in WvW and less in PvE, I wont be spending any either

So I go and kill the Maw or Tequiti in the world events which take 60-120 seconds and get two rares, one from the daily chest and one from the boss chest.

I go and cap 5 keeps and take 10 supply camps (with a zerg) for an hour or two, and get a fine/masterwork and a siege weapon (worth less than a silver) from the rank chest.

I am not sure what else to say….

you expected to get the same rewards in WvW than in PvE? this is where you went wrong

lemme introduce you this nce PvE game, maybe you havent heard about it. its called GW2.

WvW is not the main focus. it isnt the secondary focus either. hell, at this point I even doubt they focus on it at all

ANet works on PvE. then on more PvE. then on MOAR PvE
and when they get tired of that, they relax by…working on more PvE

I have been a full time mesmer for almost 3k hours until I tried thief a few weeks back.

I dont know absolutly anyone that still plays hot join, everybody I have met in the game just laughs when mentioned.

I stopped playing hot join the day I realized I had forgot to put runes and sigils in my char and still was destroying everyone…such abyssmally low is the skill ceiling there.
btw, I was playing a mesmer, not a thief

maybe one of this days you’ll try it in high end pve, large scale wvw, or tPvP, and realize that its probably the worst prof in the game bar none in all those

Doing so would invalidate the time people spend acquiring that gear. I think the heart of your post is in the right place, but what we would rather do is make possible for people to get the gear by playing WvW with a sprinkling of PvE, rather than the other way around.

close, but no. many people dont want to do that “sprinkling of PvE”, none at all, period. and you are alienating them by forcing them to do PvE to enjoy WvW.

how about this?

get most gear thru WvW easily
then some of it that can be gained in PvE easier/faster, and in WvW slower/harder… but not just from PvE

btw, the inverse should also be true. many parts easy to come by in PvE, but some parts easier/faster in WvW.
I dont see why WvW players are forced to do PvE, while the other way around doesnt happen

No. That is not a possibility at this time. The point of the buff is to affect the WvW game mode as a whole disabling it on your character would lessen the value of the buff to a server and completely invalidate the whole point.

I see your point. Im a D/D secondary D/P thief tho, and I pick my targets carefully (WvW only, I dont do tPvP anymore). my fights usually dont last more than 5 seconds if I can avoid it , so the extra 10% damage for the opener is a godsent that I wouldnt trade for anything.

If you don’t drop your target in the first 5 seconds, do you have to run or can you continue the fight?

personally I prefer scholar, I fail to see the gain of freeing up one skill slot with that setup

sr and bp is all the defence you will ever need in a d/p build

also imho AS is worse than scholar’s bonuses, since you have to choose between the extra damage or the extra power, scholar gives a mix of both plus some more crit damage. and D/P builds usually dont synergize with signets anyway.

Wouldn’t say a great matchup, as there will be blobs of BB at UW home all day/night long. But nonetheless.. we will have great fights, when it is proper.

Yes. It is ridiculous that after getting wiped one or two times by us with roughly equal numbers they mobilize their entire Borderlands force for our ~20 men. I mean blobbing would be understandable if they were the attacking zerg, but it’s very clear that after a few defeats they pull together everything they have as a massive defense force blob.
All mass, no class (except for sIN and the others).

I dont understand what you mean. a group of 15 randoms in public ts downed 25 of your guys in a camp. and we took bay with quite a bit less your numbers, with you guys bunkered in the lord with ballistas and arrowcarts…if thats the type of quality you can bring to the field….

blobs happen because we occasionally have that many people online, and we cant tell pugs to stay home and play PvE, or stop following. wish we could.
but not because we need them. certainly not against Drakkar. UW otoh, I have seen real skill there…

anyway, Drakkar complaining about blobs? lol, in primetime you guys are double our numbers, you are the blob and still cant profit from it.

Honestly, if they just cut the amount of people allowed in a map before que kicks in by half, the problem would fix itself.

However, I think I like your idea better… rewards those willing to work for it and keeps the zerglings at bay. At bay, not at Bay.

How does that solve anything? Servers that are winning with night/morning capping will still do that. And everyone else just gets even more queue’s, even the lower pop servers.
Again, punishing players with excessively long queue’s, which are bad enough at times as it is.

if the queues become unbearable enough, organized guilds will flock from stacked servers and spread. coattailers will follow them but trying not to stack too much again, so they will be more spread aswell..
and that is true for night/morning cappers too in the top servers, they will spread thin

worst case scenario, the WvW will be the same as it is now, but instead of 2-3 allpowerful servers , you will have 5-8 more equivalent. thats an improvement.

the idea behind low pop queues is to force people to spread. and they would work kitten well at it.

also, since stacking servers is a player-created problem, I see nothing wrong with punishing them for it.

also, the leagues have 9 servers in europe and 12 in US. if you make two 2-sided matchups, you are left with 5 and 8 servers respectively, how do you match them the last week?

As for konrad curvez, really? The current zerker is a reaction? How long have you even been playing this game? Glasscannon’s have been running around since beta. And Thieves in particular never dropped the subject. Whereas conditions are a fairly new cup of tea people are kittening about, which didnt even start untill Necro’s got overbuffed.

I’ve been playing since release, and no, glasscannons werent as prevalent as they are now in WvW.
they were prevalent in thief builds, and perhaps 100b warriors, but thats about it, most people preferred balanced builds. there were plenty of bunkers too.

but then ANet buffed conditions to ludicrous levels, and nowadays everyone and their dog that doesnt go conditions go fullzerker, and bunkers are relegated to organized GvG….and that, just to support their condition spammers.

usually I go by this simple rule of thumb: if the absolute worst player on the game, given enough time, can achieve it…it means its nothing worth talking about to start with.

as I said, its purely a time based achievement

anyone can hop on a level 1 char, go to WvW, and if they dont avoid fights, have within 5 minutes their “kill 50 players in WvW” monthly done.
250k kills is simply throwing more minutes at it.
