Skim reading this thread it still seems like small guilds are going to have to join forces to complete the Guild missions??
Depends what you call a small guild.
We are 15 at most and consider ourselves a small guild but we can still run guild missions tiers 1 and 2 very easily, even when we get only 10 players. Tier 1 is also easily doable with 5 people, all this without scouting of course.
I can’t activate the Contract Asuran Outsourcing upgrade from the consummable tab of the guild upgrade panel, I click “Activate” but nothing happens.
It’s not the first time I use one but this time it just doesn’t work.
Help me please, I’d like to start a 10 days upgrade as soon as possible.
Really happy about this addition, this will help us a lot since our guild is made of people from different servers.
When you say we can stockpile these missions, can we research several at once like guild banners? And is there a cap to how much of these training missions you can run in a week/day?
Unlimited Dungeoneering [UD] is a small dungeon guild based on Seafarer’s Rest with members from every servers, we’re mostly active in the evening to run dungeons like there’s no tomorrow.
We also run guild mission tiers 1 and 2 on week-ends.
We’re also open to WvW, PvE events and other activities but our cross server status make these a tad difficult.
We do things fast and clean but aren’t elitists looking for “MLG full zerker war and mes”, play what you want but play well and be nice, and don’t forget to have fun!
Currently looking for more active members to have several dungeon groups running everyday. New players willing to learn and returning players are also welcome.
Pm me or send a letter if you’re interested. Hope to see you in our ranks soon!

I had a guy in my group doing nothing but taking the crystals and hiding them for himself in a hole in the wall.
I eventually found out where they were and moved them back where everyone was.
When the guy got targeted, he ran to his hideout, found no crystal and pitifully wiped the floor.
I jokingly told him he needed a crystal to avoid this and he said something like “not my fault if someone stole mines”.
If we’re talking how high can 20 AR save me from dying on Jade Maw, then 29 is the max, no problem going higher though but people might have to res you on Jade Maw.
Now that guild missions are becoming a pretty big part of the game, why isn’t there a real guild forum that’s not used solely for recruting?
Our first guild mission was very stressful for me, I really wanted to ask a lot of things but it’s pretty hard with a single topic.
Is there any reason to go for 28/32 dailes?
28 because it’s the highest fractal of the 20+ tier so more chances for a fractal weapon/ring than 26 for example.
And 32 because I’m only level 33 at the moment but 38 will be the way to go once I’m higher.
So, from what I’m hearing, defensive stats in Fractals are not worth it? That’s a somewhat odd way to construct PvE encounters. I’ve never done any Fractals, but would like to start as I’m running out of PvE content to do otherwise.
I usually run Cleric’s gear with ruby orbs and accessories. Weapons are traded between zerker and cleric’s depending on if more healing or more damage is needed.
It is worth it at lower levels but once you reach 30+, most of the mobs will two hit and the amount of offensive stats needed to sustain a third hit is too much so people tend to go full damage and use dodge/reflect/invul/blind etc more wisely.

I run fractal 30+ in almost full zerk with a 0/20/0/20/30 build.
Bring all the weapons, I use all of them.
Cliffside:
D/D – Trash mobs
D/D – Bottom boss
Staff – Arm Seal
S/D – End boss

S/D – Fire camp and Elemental boss
D/D – End boss

No problem on my side so far, I’m only fractal level 33 though, but I do 28 and 32 daily.

Well we just did an alt run with my guildies, the highest one was 47 and I was 33 at the beginning of the run, apart from a few deaths on the spider on the first path, we breezed through the dungeon.
We usually run in full beserker gear with our mains so downscaled to 30, we loose most of our damage stats and it doesn’t make much difference with the alts.
Just dodge when you need to dodge and everything goes down eventually.
It was just longer, not terribly harder.
Funny thing is that we didn’t know about the fire thing or Grast’s bubble on the last bosses of paths 1 and 3 before coming with the alts, had to use them this time.
Nice, my ele often crits for 10k+ on Fire grab and around 14k with Churning Earth.
Mostly zerker gear and 0/20/0/20/30.
I’m leader a small dungeon guild of awesome players, we’re rarely more than 10 at peak times but we’re really active.
Still need 11 more days to start guild missions but now I wonder, do guildmates guesting get rewarded like the others? since I recruited most of them in dungeons, we’re all scattered between different servers and have one main server where the upgrades are.
I really hope they do or else what are guesting and cross server guilds for?

There’s high latency and terrible framerate during these events.
My gpu tends to run at full speed in graphic heavy areas but it doesn’t during these events.
I’d say this has nothing to do with your computer.
Don’t come and kitten this up OP.
It’s a kittening blast reaching warrior level of damage for a mere 20 seconds.
I’d go like this:
Gold if you run a lot of classic dungeons
Magic Find if you run mainly Fractals
Karma for WvW
Nice. I’ve been hearing a lot about hammer recently; I’ll have to give it a shot tomorrow night when I do some CoF speed clears. I mostly rock greatsword an max out at ~ 9k, but it sounds like hammer is even better.
I’d say greatsword is better if the boss is cornered or against the wall and you use the charge and spin at point blank. I killed myself in one charge against the butcher in hotw and his retaliation.
But now I really want to try the hammer and see for myself.
Anyway, conjured weapons are underrated.
The complains about small guilds not being able to get influence fast is bs.
do CoF p1 every day.. it takes 10 minutes and you get 100 influence
spvp together with 1 guildmate for 1 hour gets you around 300 influence.
Yes it’s still gonna take a few days but so is everything else
You can’t get 30 laurels in 1 day either..
If you want max everything right the first day you play go play a private server of runescape or something
And then it takes 15 days and 16 hours to upgrade from zero to level 5.
But what does that mean “The first one is Guild Bounties”?
Does that mean there’s an order to unlock the missions or that we won’t see the other guild mission modes in the coming patch?
Or are the other guild missions tied to the other upgrade trees?
(edited by Krag.6210)
How will it work?
I am the leader of a small dungeon guild and only half of the players are on the same server. Does that mean the other half will never be able to enjoy guild missions on the worldmap?
Or if they can through guesting, can they even get their hands on the rewards?
Also, are there plans to have influence and upgrades shared between servers?
I’m looking for something like this myself but have a few questions:
What traits are you running with?
What combos are you using for might stacking?
My build right now is http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQBYAgo4ETEKewiyjZyxGA
And for might stacking:
Ring of Fire -> Dodge/swap Earth (for evasive arcana blast) -> Arcane Wave -> Earthquake -> Churning Earth
If playing S/D:
Razor.6392:
1. Dragon’s tooth
2. Move to where it’s about to fall really quick (or you could already be in melee range)
3. Ring of fire under the dragon’s tooth right before it falls
4. faceroll arcane wave -> phoenix -> switch earth -> dodge roll -> earthquake
Here’s a video of a CoE run I recorded, still pretty new to the class but I love it already.
http://youtu.be/rzjXfsrWtWc
Stacking is better even for ranged and squishier classes because:
- Alpha doesn’t move
- You get all the boons/heal and benefits from being close to your teamates which makes you a lot tougher than if you stood behind
- If anyone falls, you don’t have to run around to help him (this is usually how you fail alpha)
- You get instantly freed from the crystals (which is buggy btw, if it breaks too fast, you are stuck in it for the full duration)
I use the fiery sword for 3 major tactics
—> to clear camps,
—>when faced with another DnD ele
—>and on keep doors. It may be a bit OP if we followed the autoattack suggestion. Although it would be nice to have a bar indicating its ‘use left’ factor.
It’s the most powerful weapon against structures in the whole game.
Non-targeted FGreatsword 4 absolutely annihilates any structure that’s large enough to take multiple hits at once.
I recorded this yesterday: http://youtu.be/eQv2iWwbvvc
In the end, I went with D/D, build is 0-20-0-20-30 and the gear is berserker for the most part except helm, daggers and backpiece.
The damage is a lot higher than I expected and the experience from my glass melee mesmer helps me stay alive at close range, it’s even easier thanks to self-heals, protection and all the escape mechanisms.
All this while kittenting boons to no end, I’m really satisfied.
Below is a random screenshot I took while running a dungeon earlier, and that’s nothing exceptional.
(edited by Krag.6210)
I’m playing a 0-20-0-20-30 build right now, trying both S/D and D/D but I can’t tell which one deals more damage. Can swap between the two no problem but I like to have a “main” and “secondary” set still.
Is Zephyr’s Boon even worth it when playing S/D?
Alright, will try some new builds tomorrow.
Seen some 9k Churning Earth in dungeon which I’m pretty happy with, 10-15 perma might for my group and 15-20 for me and some other cool stuff.
Thank you all for your help, this has been a pretty interesting topic, hopefully it will turn people into more dps-y builds.
I could go for something more dps-y but loosing the aurashare trait seems like a huge loss of dps for the whole group.
What are some traits I should aim for in the fire/air trees to make up for this loss?
Alright, I just did Arah p3 as my first dungeon and it went pretty well on my side with the standard aurashare build, the damage is alright even though I’m not fully geared yet.
Playing d/d most of the time and I struggle a bit with the scepter, can’t land might combos properly, what’s the optimal order?
Got full zerk armor and ring/earring, soldier weapons and amulet, I’m not gonna buy 6 more Divinity runes so I guess I’ll go with Ruby orbs or Boon duration runes (or mix).
Any tips or thoughts on what I said are welcome.
What rune setup do you use Razor?
Thank you for all your answers.
Thanks, that was more or less what I tried in the mists with boon duration runes since I was amazed at how many boons you can grant to yourself and your allies so I guess I’ll try that while gearing for damage.
Oh my. I see what you mean. O_O
I honestly don’t think that an Ele could match that without dying constantly, but I have no idea because I haven’t played a glass cannon Ele…
Oh, alright, thanks for your input though.
I hope someone can help, I see everyone talking about PVT gear but I don’t see this helping us clear dungeons faster, sure I can bring more boons for my group than with the mesmer but even with a few might stacks and fury, it’s still not enough I think.
I rarely see people talking about full glass pve builds here.
Could you tell us more about your Mesmer? Just the really important stats, at least? Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage, Critical Damage?
So I just hit 80 with my elem using D/D and all the attunements, I think I nailed the thing even though I never went into dungeons with this guy.
Now I’m looking for a build to run dungeons with, I usually play with my guild and we destroy 3/4 of the dungeons every night, they’re used to my mesmer with her huge damage and time warp.
We’re all for the speed, running more or less full berserker most of the time.
I want them to accept my elem as they do with the mesmer, how should I build?
I fear that the elem can’t match the dps and utility my mesmer provides, hope you can prove me wrong.
This is serious, I hate this SO much.
Warp to LA, start typing something, suddenly “you are in an overflow” pop-up appears then my character jumps, pops his timewarp, does a 180 and checks his inventory and opens his map.
In fractals, you just beat the last boss of your most hated fractal and you found an exotic, as you started typing about your find, the “next fractal” pop-up appears and you waste a timewarp while executing a backward flip AGAIN!
Please, Anet, make it so pop-ups don’t interrupt your typing.
(edited by Krag.6210)
I agree with the OP, I’m a mesmer who’s 80% of the time in melee because my damage output is a crazy lot higher than kittening with my greatsword but I’m always amazed at how the other mesmers, along with warriors, guardians etc tend to stick to ranged attacks on bosses that are a tiny bit deadlier in melee.
The problem is that there’s no drawback to staying ranged except lower damage, most of the deadly attacks are in melee and ranged attacks are only “don’t stand in the fire” kind of attacks.
Let’s take the Grawl Shaman that makes people cry, the only thing you have to fear in range are the arrows while in melee, you have two aoe attack along with the arrow which is a lot harder to dodge due to the almost instant travel time.
Lupicus, go melee in phase 1 and you have to deal with all the other attacks (grubs, swarm) along with an instant kick between every attack, P2 you have to deal with instant bolts and P3, there’s the bubble and bolt spam.
The Son of svanir in the snow fractal, the final bosses of CoF 1 or 3, of CM, AC, TA and others, all these bosses are zero threat to a ranged player.
Add boss mechanics to draw ranged players to mid/melee range, add a deadzone in melee range on some attacks, melees have to deal with (sometimes) unpredictable attacks (looking at you, CM centaur) so give the ranged players some work too.
Dungeons don’t “favor” ranged, bad players favor ranged to be safer so they don’t die.
Dungeons favor whatever the group is capable of, which is ranged to go slow, or melee to go fast at the expense of safety. That’s the whole tradeoff.
No, no, that’s not how a tradeoff should work. Right now it’s “be melee, be fast, and die” and “stay ranged, be slower, stay alive forever”.
It should be balanced around risk/damage, and ranged risk at the moment is very low or non-existant.

Speaking about utilities and swapping them on the fly.
I’d really like to be able to swap my utilities that are on cooldown, without removing the cooldown of course but just so I can be ready with the rights utilities for the next fight.
Example: CoE, laser part, mesmer. I jump my way to the other side then drop a portal for my teammates, meaning I’m stuck with the portal for the next bossfight event though I’d like my Feedback, Blink, Mirror Images to be ready at some point in the fight.
In full berserker gear, a melee mesmer will deal a kittenload more damage than with a greatsword. Go Sword/Focus, pop your warden when you can since all the bosses won’t move much anyway.
CoE is THE dungeon where you can go full damage without asking questions.
The only defense you need is your dodge key, some way to cleanse conditions can also help in paths 1 and 2.
Don’t read the forums too much, try the dungeon yourself before that.
Get your GS or staff for phase one.
“you cannot use illusions until phase 2” is completely wrong. Watch lupi, he raises his hand, summoning a green smoke on one of you, this means that when he’ll scream, the grub will spawn on this person so spawn your illusions right after this arm raising animation and shatter them before the next.
Blame Anet for making warrior the only class you’ll ever need to destroy any dungeon.
As much as I like a full warrior party with me (as a Mesmer), I still think it’s so cheap I don’t even feel proud of the runs or the speed at which we clear the dungeons.
Don’t call these players elitists, if you want to farm, take a full war/mes party and experienced players, if you want to have fun, take anything and anyone.
Fun bosses and mechanics even though Destroyer needs some tweaking, laser part is a breath of fresh air.
My only gripe is that the first 10-15 mins are exactly the same no matter the path.
Favorite dungeons after Arah.
Troll on Kholer- is much faster cause blah blah
90% of the groups will just pull them and stand there watching their life bar deplete when it takes half the time to kill them separatly, that’s what I meant.
I don’t have anything against glitches and exploits but this is kittening stupid, it just takes longer, same level of stupidity as “troll on Kholer”. I’m all for the speed.
I do it like this (pic below) and I can’t remember the last time I failed.
Doing it diagonally allows you to jump without having to control your forward movement too much.
I’m ok with Anet removing the spykits from dungeons but they have to understand that IT’S IMPOSSIBLE to stand alone against 5+ melee and ranged dredges with skills and boons without moving from the button.
Give them annoying skills, give them bumps, give them whatever you want so they push you off the buttons but not damaging skills.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single group being succesful doing this the normal way after frac 25 or something.
I wish it was true, then I’d have more rings than I have fingers.
But it’s wrong, I had to buy my two rings with 20 Pristine relics meaning I ran through frac 28 and 30 twenty times as leader without getting a ring.
Bacon is nice but you know what this game needs?
Snails and frogs.
The problem with throwing a shield is the action is copyrighted by Marvel. Seeing as Disney owns Marvel now and has been known to be a bit too… “zealous” in protecting their copyrights, going anywhere near this is just begging for a lawsuit. That’s why City of Heroes’ shield powerset didn’t have a shield throw.
They’d better remove the engineer class asap then.
