True..but did you notice all of the other stuff that he has? Most of the gift boxes contain a random chance for one of those things. Worst case, you open a bunch and have enough to purchase one outright.

The items found in the gifts are a bit random. Giant gifts are awarded to level 60-80 players and should contain somewhat level appropriate gifts.

Exchange your ugly wool socks/hats/sweaters for better gifts at the gift exchange merchant in LA.

Every dragon event on Crystal Desert has lag so bad that skills don’t even go off when used, this is affecting myself, everyone in my guild and many more on the server.

If you would have asked me before Gw2 came out if I would pay a sub for it (many forum posters did) I would have said absolutely, but with the immense grind that this game is for everything I find it hard to justify even using the gem shop.

I enjoy the play style of my guardian and how heavy armor looks.

Also WvW is not end game it is just another option, and one that I avoid when ever possible because it is terrible.

They created a system to artificially extend a grind in a game with “no grinding” (lol) worst idea ever.

If you are killing skelks or whatever for bloods, you will never hit that DR. People hit DR when they farm the waves and waves of mobs from events in cursed shore.

I’d like to go explore but i know that if i don’t do this now it will be much harder to find groups in the future and as i know Agony will be part of all future content it will be needed…

Now that they added infusions I am sure that they will come up with all sorts of stupid little conditions the we will need the gear for. I sure do miss the vanilla GW2 when all I had to do was get the gear that I thought looked cool , it was a good couple of months I guess.

But what makes you think they will add them everywhere aside from some limited spaces? So far, the only thing they;ve done is add it into a completely optional dungeon.

I fail to see where it’s a requirement, you aren’t missing out on a single thing…. and you can remain competitive in all modes where it matters (sPVP and WvW)

SPvP and WvW don’t matter to me.

The fractals are fun, they are so much better than all the other easy dungeons in the game but having to do level 10 and 20 everyday hoping we get lucky and get a specific drop (just like in every other mmo and something A-net said they hated themselves) we can not continue into higher levels of fractals and we can not continue enjoying the game.

So now, the problem isn’t the gear, but your willingness to only run a single aspect of a game that offers so many other options.

It is no longer an issue of anything else, but you choosing to run the same thing over and over again. You say you enjoy the fractals, but complain you are against doing the same thing everyday for a drop…. The fractals don’t change past 20 aside from how often you encounter the agony… so it’s still going to be the same thing over and over again…. Technically, you are imposing all the issues on yourself, the reason you see it as being as every other MMO is because you choose to experience the one piece of content that is specifically designed to be just that…. there are other parts of this game that are nothing like other MMO’s. Anet always stated this game would provide options for everyone.

Sounds like really, your only complaint is RNG… which is a valid complaint, but an entirely separate issue. Take a break for a bit, try something else in the game, and go back to fractals later, you’ll eventually get that ring you want, or enough fractal relics for the backpiece.

I have seen every aspect of the game. I have over 800hrs played, the game was fine before they added a stat grind all they had to do was add skins like they always stated would be the case, and with this I am done posting in this thread because you are just failing to see any other point of view but your own.

They said they will offer more ways of getting Ascended gear, well going off what it takes to craft just the back pieces it will take a whole lot of grinding ( something else A-net said they hate) just to get them or craft them. All they have done is added in a huge grind that no one wanted and made up a story about some gap between exos and legendary weapons.

Since they killed any form of money making here the only reason to go is to mine ore

lol i have looked closely. it’s hours and hours of a grind in content some of us hate. How difficult is that to understand. the rings don’t always drop. How can you say what is a grind for some of us? It’s not optional. stop saying that. the stats are at least 20% better than exotics. not optional.

What would you like in the game? Would you like the rings mailed to you? Would you like the mats you need to craft ascended gear for free?

And where did you get the 20% better? Did you read that somewhere, or did you calculate it on your own?

What you need to do is decide for yourself what feels like a grind and what doesn’t, and you’ll feel better about how you play the game. The people here are not a sample of the majority. Progression in all of its forms are as much a part of this game as it is a part of life. If you choose not to progress here, you go somewhere else and progress elsewhere. But make no mistake. Fundamental design requires character progression and reward. Anet has provided additional ways to progress, that’s all. It doesn’t violate the ToS, it doesn’t violate some vague promise they made 7 years ago. It’s the natural order of the development cycle, and it only helps to improve your enjoyment of gameplay. So, don’t listent to the masses, don’t jump on the bandwagon until you listen to yourself first. What do you feel you want to accomplish in this game? That’s more important than what anyone else tells you.

Under 3 hours for a fractal. You could run 6 fractals in that time depending on the fractal.

Reading comprehension not so good with you? We got to tier 5 in under 3hrs 4 manning it , and have 3 and 4 manned up to tier 11 with no problems.

Maybe your reading comprehension is not that good either. Had you not had that fractal you could do others in a shorter amount of time.

It is by far the one of longest fractals. It feels like a tremendous waste of time. It can be skipped.

Under 3 hours for a fractal. You could run 6 fractals in that time depending on the fractal.

To me, whether it is an exploit depends entirely on how lax the standards were for being able to open the chest (i.e. how much of the event did you have to do to get it). If you could jump in at the end and still get the reward? Exploit. If you had to participate in a large chunk of the event to get credit? Totally legitimate.

But this still does not count out the fact that dev said 1 time only.

1 time only as in they will never offer the event again in the future, seems like common sense to me.

I agree with the lottery sentiment. Hey, some people just get lucky. Luck is how you get the precursors anyway (mystic forge) or you could buy them. Everyone had their luck increased that day and those who didn’t get lucky still saw the prices drop immediately after the event. Me? I got a “bad” exotic chest piece and two “meh” rares.

What bothers me is that the event didn’t end (or start it seems) on all the servers at the same time; nor did the event lock people out who left mid event or came late. This led to people sneaking in at the end of the event and getting the chest for doing nothing. Others even went as far as logging in on a different character and finding an “incomplete” overflow and opening the chest more than once, again, after doing little to nothing.
If it’s supposed to be “one-time” it should be one. time.

My suggestion would’ve been run it twice 12 hrs apart (or four times 8 hrs apart) where you must start and finish the event in one go, and you can only do it once per account.

The problem with your idea is the game isn’t stable enough for everyone to get through an event
