I get a rare every other day, and I spend most of my time screwing around in Caledon Forest. If you aren’t, you’re either not trying or doing something severely wrong. o_O
Before I stopped logging in I was play 6-8hrs a day doing events, dragons, dungeons and fractals and all I was getting was blues and greens. So please tell me how I wasn’t trying and how I was playing wrong.
Pay a sub just to do dailies? No I am not an idiot. Its free and I can’t find a reason to log in.
RNG is a problem when it’s expensive.
When the costs become too heavy, it starts feeling like gambling. Gambling is unhealthy.
I can’t think of one situation that occurs in-game that uses RNG that couldn’t be reworked to offer fixed rewards.
Mob Loot.
The game would become a complete grind if loot became… consistent.
The excitement of finding a rare on occasion is much more entertaining.

RNG is a game breaker, especially if the majority of the game play is based on the RNG. Then add the lack of items to play for…and the RNG really is annoying plus no fun. Then add the diminished returns on top of that.
Only a game breaker if you’re building a legendary.
You mean the endgame of Gw2. It finally makes sense now why I don’t want to log in anymore, its broken.

Time to play another game until they actually add something to do at 80 besides fighting the DR monster while trying to get a legendary.
There is still nothing to do at endgame. No point in running dungeons for ugly gear, no reason to go higher than fractal 20 since it drops infused rings and weapons. No reason to run events for worthless karma and drops and having dr kick in after 20mins. Spvp is garbage and WvW is nothing but a zergfest.

I ever since was a defender that gw2 is not that kind of game, since fractals were released I told ppl that it’s not since you don’t need any ar to get to lvl 80 (I’m there so don’t argue about that if it’s possible or not ) But after the update the game changed to what the dev stated now. I really think this is a bad direction the game takes and I’m as a former gw1 fan dissapointed and afraid that it goes in this direction.
I don’t need to care I have the cap for the next year + nothing left to do for me there. But I care in generally that this is the bad direction the game takes. So I hope I find supporters that are gonna make the dev rethink their new system.

How many times has Anet told you people that you will not get another tier of gear aside the ascended gear?
Actually all they said was that there would not be a new tier this year.
The fact is that the ONLY place in the world you need that gear for is the place you need to farm to get it. This is completely different from gating in other games.
Actually I can’t get the amulet by doing fractals I have to do the stupid dailies and monthly.
Well I wouldn’t notice a change, I have gotten maybe 3 drops better than greens since the wintersday patch
Other than adjustments to Orr rewards (as covered in the release notes) the only change made in this patch to over-all loot was allowing high level characters who are playing in lower level zones the opportunity to earn top level gear to provide greater rewards. (as also covered in the release notes)
There are no “stealth nerfs”, any changes will be covered directly in the release notes, of which there are none.
To back up this story i just made 3 times Shelter/Peni events and i got 3 rares in total so i got a rare every event and i have 0 MF and on top of that i got tons of moldy bags (like 15 for each event) which granted me a good chunk of mats.
As someone who is running with 0 MF since the start i can tell that there wasn’t any loot change at all that i notice.
If there is a problem with loot its probably related to MF not to general drop at all.
Well bugged or rng something is not right when I run 40 of them half with a character with full mf half with another with zero mf and nothing better than a green drops.
I can go full set if mf gear with food and gem booster and still only get trash and blues pretty much all the time. Of course with out it I get the same thing so I would like this obviously broken system scraped
We do plan on adding more stat combo to existing ascended item types as well as adding more stat combos to new types.

Rewards would be “achievements” only. No material gain. Money or drops.
Nope, I never even try for achievements in games, they are just lazy ways to keep people playing.

Well to be honest after doing the same events 100+ times (very easy to do) they do get very very boring.
There are over 3,000 events in the game. To do all the events 100 times you would have to have completed over 2,000 events per day since the game launched.
When you are lvl 80 there is no reason to ever go back to lower lvl zones so you have 3 zones worth going to for gathering and events.

I’m not sure why you keep using Clovers as examples. They’re easy enough to obtain already.
Also, just wanted to point out your method won’t encourage players to “play the way they want.” It would simply encourage speed runners. More 4 war + 1 mes stuff that a ton of people here like to complain about.
Also obviously you’re not gonna get all the Clovers you want in one run. People are going to figure out which is the fastest dungeon to speed run (CoF path 1, anyone?) and run it ad nauseam until they get what they need. Hey, more grinding.
As you said, Clovers are just an example. An example where you waste earned stuff in order to get something… or not.
I didn’t mention it but I thought of those Speed-Runs as a seperate mode to the dungeons. (do you know those kind of mode in GW1? or even WoW lately?). Then add the part where you can only get 1 piece of the stuff from 1 dungeon-path per month and people would have to master every dungeon in order to get the maximal amount of rewards.
With such a system there has to be a casual-system with similar rewards too, cause as we know: not everyone loves dungeons. So add Metaevents to the list (1 reward per Meta-Event per month) and set a limit to the max. rewards you can get a month… this way people wouldn’t feel forced to do ALL of the possible ways for a maximum amount of “Clovers”.

max. number of “Clovers” per Month: 10
choose:
-) 32 dungeonpaths – each path 1 per month
-) xx Metaevents – each Event 1 per month
-) 50 deeds (player kills, revives, combos, doors broken, towers taken, supply camps taken in WvW) – 1 cloverso people choose the content they wanna do, to EARN that stuff. It’s obviously not grinding (choice, variety, no repetition).
So much possibilities, why does it have to be grind? Why destructive gamling?
Clovers are easy to get its nothing but time. Not sure how doing a 10x in the MF and getting a crap ton of T6 mats or loadstones instead of clovers is destructive.
The problem with the current system is if you don’t like the armor or weapons there is no reason to run the dungeons, but if the last boss drops something cool that you can’t get anywhere else then you have incentive.
I just finish my dailies and log out because there is no reason for me to go do anything with out some type of reward.
If only there was some guaranteed reward when finishing an event or dungeon!

I am holding on to the few I have. I hope the devs are smart enough to add something to do with them other then sell them for 4s but with recent patch I also am not holding my breath
No. There is no flag for good and bad loot. It is just RNG.
Well this RNG has got it out for me and it really makes me not even want to log in most days and if I do I just finish my dailies and log out because there is no reason for me to go do anything with out some type of reward.
It will fade away but always remembered for the failure it was.
What I don’t like about it is that it is completely account-based. I have 3 level 80 characters and I want a laurel necklace for at least two of them. Maybe even several of them for at least one char when I’m switching my gear…
Other than that I’m fine with it. It is a long term goal you can work towards in easy and fast steps… though I’d really like being able to do that on each of my characters…

They should base it on character, or increase the rate.
The problem with making each character able to do them would be people making a character goto WvW or do them in pve. Then delete that character make a new one and repeat. They would have to create a way to stop that somehow. Maybe by making a new character unable to do a daily for like a day/24 hours after creation.
I’m all for getting gear quicker on multiple characters. I really miss that about gw1.
Just make the laurel and the items you can buy with them soulbound.
They want to add more ways to get ascended gear and then make it so the amulets are only available through laurels…. Not a whole lot of common sense it seems.
They need to just add them to the daily chance like the rings and weapons

Putrifiers are still there, and they still open with a pull. They just turned the entire map into empty space so you don’t have to think or look at your screen or even be awake to play in Orr.
Orr was always easy. Even when it was supposedly dead from being so ‘annoying’ (read: too hard) I always saw more people in Orr zones than midgame maps or frostgorge. Now it’s just as faceroll as any other zone.
Never had an issue with Orr myself. As usual if a mass amount of players complain it will turn in their favor
Not really there is a thread with almost 1000 post about the crappy drop rate since the karka patch and nothing has been done about that
The way updates work in GW2 is even if anyone on the team makes any change no matter how small it is considered a new build ( I saw a video where it might get updated in house 5- 10 time a day) hence a all new download
How many of these threads do we need before people use the search function. January monthly does not count for the new system.
The patch didn’t change anything, I will still just do my daily fractals selling the blues I get ( because that is usually the only thing I get) for a few silver.

I would like my drops fixed, I am sick of playing for 4 -5 hrs a day and only seeing porus bones, dark stained claws and stones while everyone else I am grouped with is getting rares, cores and loadstones.

Well they did say the same thing about the release of the game and look where we are now.
If the game follows this tier / Ascended / WoW clone direction its currently following i doubt i’ll stay here, its not fun and its another generic version of every other mmorpg made to date, i played Guildwars 1 because it wasn’t like WoW and all of its clones..ever made..
It has been confirmed that there won’t be any new tiers added. Contrary to what the purists like to believe, it was stated that ascended was supposed to be implemented on launch but was not ready. As such, it’s been released now. Considering that they’re going to start letting you earn ascended gear in many other ways, there is no gear grind.

I mean really what you are doing is restricting the game to a specific type of player when you in fact do not have to.This game has every potential to be both hardcore and casual at the same time. A proper ingame ladder and some more ‘worthless’ achievement regarding to pvp (maybe wearable pvp skin for bragging right) would’ve solved everything.
It’s almost like you don’t want the game to grow and succeed and instead want this game for casual players only. Please, the " there are many more hardcore pvp mmo out there go play them kthxbye" argument doesn’t help you, nor does it help the game. Lets start coming up with an adequate solutions for both hardcore and casual players so the game can prosper, shall we?

Not always no, but you would be surprised what some people find desirable.
Pearl weapons will someday be the new rare weapons.
I don’t think so the lvl 10 human weapons look 100x better than any pearl weapon.
