Its is what I wanted. No stupid stat grind every couple months , no sitting in town trying to find a healer or tank , being able to do everything in the game with just my irl friends.
Its not worth the time when there is a very high chance that nothing unique will come from them. If the chest or even the mob dropped something that looked cool or was even different stats than other things that drop in the zone it would be worth it.
I don’t understand how people bought the game and didn’t know that it has no stat based progression ( I love it) when it was one of the main selling points.
Nope I just crafted myself a set of exotic gear a couple of days after hitting 80 and got some dungeon sets. I have like 30 fine stones in my bank that I will probably never use.
I got 411 hours in the game, 2 80s with exotics and I’ve yet to grind or get 100% map.
Hell, I have yet to repeat the same thing twice in a day.
There are objectively plenty of things to do and plenty of variety unless one locks himself into repeating things; but that is completely player’s fault, Anet cannot force you to not act like a zombie.
Okay lol you should learn what progression means at endgame. There is no progression once your 80 in PvE. All there is, grind same dungeons over and over or farm.
There is progression just not stat based. It’s only a grind if you don’t enjoy it and if you are not enjoying the game why are you playing?
Area loot for pve please, and in WvW just put the drops in my bag. Also a separate button for interacting and looting would be great, I can’t tell you how maddening it is to be looting and pick up a banner or talk to an npc
There are a list of things that need to be fixed and adjusted. I am not a disappointed player, but even if I was there is not a single other game that is worth playing right now.
Yes. But when you go back to those lower level zones you are at a SUBSTANTIAL advantage compared to when you were first there.
1. you have access to your full range of skills and skill slots INCLUDING your elite skill.
2. you gear (hopeuflly) is well upgraded including a full set of accessories.
3. you should probably have a substantial number or rare or exotic gear.
4. you have more ( if not all) of your talent point.
These all contribute to allowing you to put out more damage as well as mitigate/defend against incoming damage.
So your right, the cost of travel and repair are still higher BUT you can kill faster for more loot to offset travel costs. With more damage output and survivability you should have close to 0 repair costs.
So I can kill 10 -20 things to equal the loot from 1-2 mobs at 80…. not worth it at all
I would be happy with just a way to switch between my normal gear and magic find a little faster. Heck charge me gems for a special slots in my bank that I can store armor and weapons that I can switch to on the fly anywhere in the world.
Guild Wars 2 is great with the soft trinity it has, people need to stop trying to play it as a straight tank/healer/dps. This game isn’t about knowing just your class like other mmos, you need to know how your class can interact with the other classes abilities as well. If that is too hard for you than there are many mmos that offer the hard trinity that you seek.
In practice though, it’s a miserable experience at times. Too many bosses/mobs get fixated on a single person for seemingly the ENTIRE encounter rendering them useless because all they can do is run away and try to live.
Look at it this way: the tank’s job is to take the focus of all enemies so the rest of the group can concentrate on offense. If all the enemies are focused on you then that’s your job except instead of standing there and getting hit in the face the way a tank would you kite the enemies around. Be prepared for this to happen at any time and have a strategy. Instead of hysterically running in random directions, try kiting enemies through other players aoe.
This might not be nice to say but I am so glad Anet isn’t letting the forum whiners drive game development like WoW does. It’s made GW2 a truly challenging game worth playing.
