anyone else bored with legendaries?

The reason you see a lot of the same ones is because they look the best, i mean have uou seen the scepter the mace or focus there is absolutely nothing legendary looking about them.

I personally feel that there is a lack of competition

I agree with the op.:) People this is an MMO they should serve both casual and hardcore. Here something i posted a while ago.

End game, well….before i started playing mmo’s i was playing rpg’s, my most favorite game back then was squaresoft’s ff10 before square enix started to kitten up the others that followed. For casuals there was the storyline and some minigames to do ingame and that was it,for the hardcore gamers there was much more, as it almost was disigned only for them.:)There endgame began at getting the calestical weapen’s(that was imo easy)But then it all just begon for me"the endgame"Farming dark matters,Getting break hp limit,Getting break damage limit,Fighting the dark aeons,Finding hidden bosses completing the monsterarena and so on…For all this ya needed a kittenload of time, some effort to read things,to use your brains.
In Gw2 i treuly hope i will experience the same like i did in the game that i talked about. But at the end its all what you make of it,If you like it stay, if ya don’t like it move on.

Anothers players reply on this one.
+1
Somewhere along the development of GW2, “no gear treadmill” turned into “no player left behind”. Lets give everyone the same gear! Let’s design the game so every player, good or bad, can complete all content in PvE! Let’s give everyone a choice of 3 cookie-cutter builds for their class, so that casual players don’t feel left behind! Let’s make legendaries easy, but big time sinks so that anyone could get them! As a result, the skill ceiling in PvE was made very low. There are no megabosses, there are no challenges that actually require SKILL to beat. There is nothing that only the best of the best can achieve. “Rewarding skilled players for being good” became “Rewarding all players just for showing up”, and the only measure of a player seems to be “Well did you get 100% world completion?” and “Did you get all the armor skins?”

This is what GW2 is if you don’t like it there are many other games out there that will give you worthless rewards for doing something in a game. I personally feel sorry for people that need all the worthless achievements and think that they actually mean anything.

I sincerely hope that you don’t do anything with Lupicus; he is the single best encounter in the entire game. I do hope that you fix his bugs however, especially the aoe in p2 hitting in areas where it shouldn’t.

If by best encounter you mean easy then yes he is the best. He looks cool to.

Can you make every dungeon at least able to be done with only 4 ? My group was very disappointed when we did coe and it requires 5 to get past the laser wall. You can leave the difficulty we just don’t like having to bring someone just so they can hit a button or stand in a certain spot when we are perfectly cable of doing everything else ourselves.

Do you still bother with daily achievement?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kromica.2831

Kromica.2831

Only missed 2 so far. Once because i came home too late and too tired and the other because i was too sick to play.

I just wish the dailies would stop giving the basic transmutation stone as the bonus. At least make it a fine transmutation stone.

Actually the confirmed rewards are the karma jug and 1 mystic coin. Theres a chance to get a random gemstore item and it IS possible to get fine transmutation stones.

I know that. But why bother giving a basic one. I feel like i lost a chance to get something actually semi useful. Its like those 1c reward of old.

I wish I could use the basic stones for something I have collected almost 300 of them through normal play. They are more worthless than karma right now.

hahaha you think people with 2G’s computers run this game well in wvw? no matter how much your computer costs, the game has zero optimization so it runs like **** with everyone. increasing performance is great but something tells me it’ll be something like 3fps increase so hard to care or see a difference.

game runs great for me in pve and wvw(no lag at all). my comp only cost 900

That just shows how badly optimized the game is.

lol well 8gb ram and 2gb vid card is more than enough for this game, and neither are that expensive.

Except for the fact that the game uses your CPU more than your GPU and its very picky about which ones you have at that.

you can pick up an i-7 3770 pretty cheap, and they run the game fine.

Ok so I already have a pc that I spent a decent amount of money on to be able to run any game I want and now I have to buy another one just to play GW2?

I have a better idea how about Anet do there job and optimize the game.

well you dont need to buy a new pc to buy a new processor. guess what, having to upgrade your computer fairly frequently is part of pc gaming. always has been unless you spend a bunch of money and over build it to prepare for future games.

I do build almost every 2 years to prepare for future games, and I am not going to downgrade my processor or any part of my pc just to play GW2, like I said they need to do there job.

Sometimes I just want to farm...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

You like farming? Unfortunately you’re playing the wrong game.

I still have no idea why DR exists. At first I thought it was to combat bots, okay fair enough. But now bots are pretty much under control, but we still have DR…

So now legitimate players are being punished for reasons not specified. My only conclusion is it keeps people playing for longer and also encourages people to purchase gems.

Pretty lame tactic if you ask me.

Feel free to correct me ANet!

If this is the wrong game for farming can you explain the staggering amount of items need to get a legendary?

Enhanced performance in WvW

If i am not mistaken, this means that people who don’t have 10000€ computers will finnaly be able to be inside a zerg of 20 people or so?

Thats exactly my case, i can run everysingle game there is out there, in max settings, assassins creed, crysis etc etc, and yet, i can’t perform well when fightning with a zerg, trying to capture or a keep or something, even on the lowest settings.

This is a big improvement to my staying in guild wars 2, since i enjoy wvw, but due to not be able to contribut in any of the objectives, i just don’t go there.

As long as the game does most of the work on the cpu performance will not increase a whole lot , unless Anet is some sort of magic.

Kromica.2831

GW2 will get DX11 when they have nothing better to work on. It’s low priority, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Considering working on the engine is probably a seperate team I dont see how it can be a low priority for a game released in late 2012.

The engine team is working on culling right now. After that, they probably have a ton of performance optimizations to do, and who knows what else.

Adding DX11 at this point in time would not be cost effective. It’s fluff, and they have bigger fish to fry.

Since when is optimizing the game to run on hardware that has been around since 2009 fluff?

If your rig can run DX11 without issue, then it should be plenty fast for GW2. What’s your angle exactly?

Is the game too slow on your PC?
Is the game not pretty enough on your PC?
Will DX11 change your answers above?

You would think that GW2 would run great on a brand new high end machine but the facts are there are a lot of people having issues with it. Optimization should always be one of the top priorities.

“Charr and norn refugees crawl from the wreckage of their homes in the Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau, struggling to find shelter in the south.” If this means that there will be visible, semi-permanent changes to the terrain in those game maps, and whole new heart quests and DE chains, to reflect the passage of time in the game world, like the destruction of the Lion’s Arch lighthouse only more so, then I can only say one thing about that:

AWESOME!!! I’ve been waiting for an MMO role playing game where the game master would have the tools to change the world based on events happening, ever since I discovered the genre back in ’04.

(The more so because I’m really not all that fond of Diessa Plateau. I’d miss Wayfarer’s pretty green valley and bucolic homesteads, though.)

Nothing that major can really be changed since these are still starter zones.

The scavenger hunt is still only in the theory stage.

DR is used to extend the “gameplay experience” under the guise of deterring bots.

DR is great for the game. It’s not there to stop bots. No, it’s there to stop something far, far worse: grinders, farmers, addicts and exploiters.

If grinders and farmers are the enemy people need to stop complaining about tp prices because guess what its the farmers and people that enjoy grinding mobs that usually help keep prices low.

I’ll support that when I can get foefire’s essence for under 15g like the rest of the exotics. ¬.¬

Well as long as we can’t farm prices stay high.

It’s very cute to hear people saying how grinders are the heroes of the average player, spending their valuable time to keep prices low.

Unfortunatelly, that’s just a big, fat, orange kitten.

Grinders concentrate gold, and thus are capable of buying things at increased prices, making everything more expensive than it would have been without them. If grinders did not exist and players earned money only by playing the game normally, everyone would be able to afford everything, since there wouldn’t be such a huge gap between players with a lot of gold and players with significantly less gold.

Grinders, farmers, addicts and exploiters are all bad for the game. ArenaNet is culling them away, but of course the grinders cannot understand how is it possible that a MMO is not cattering to them.

Yea me wanting to grind for my own mats and sell things I don’t need to people to lazy to do it themselves is hurting you so much.

Bots work around it, Players deal with it.

The game was supposed to not harm the playerbase as they’ve stated multiple times (we love legit farmers)

That was lip service. ArenaNet has stated over and over that they don’t want players to grind – which means, they actually punish people who grind. And I’m very happy with that.

Because people that enjoy grinding are are so bad, I don’t understand you people.

Kromica.2831

1. Sadly its just not worth it to bring a low level into any dungeon, maybe try and find a guild that will help. Loot drops are terrible through the whole game.

2. Combat in this game is more strategic its not just mash all you ablities, if you stick with it and pay attention it becomes very fun. Even though you are lvl 35 when you go back to a lower zone your stats drop to match the zone.

3. Not much for gear choices through the game they really need to add more

4. You can learn every profession on one character but only have 2 at a time, maxing out a crafting profession to 400 will only net you 10 levels.

Why limit yourself to mmos? There are so great stories to be discovered single player

I personally can’t justify spending $40-$60 on the 12-20 hours that most sp games are these days, better things to buy.

So more story (already so bad I can’t continue)

More DEs in randoms zones. (Yay more karma with nothing to use it on)

Spvp additions ( I don’t care about this but I hope they make it enjoyable for others)

WvW additions ( as long as it remains Zerg vs Zerg there is no point and I don’t see a way to change it.)

Did I miss anything?

We need more weapons/weapon skills.

More traits

A reason to do events besides karma ( events are fun the first couple of times but after that its same old same old with worthless rewards.)

Better crafting ( Cooking is the only craft that is worth anything at max lvl)

More diverse looking weapons and armor ( sick of seeing everyone in the same gear)

Better testing for bugs.

I am sure that Anet will save the good stuff for an actual expansion, at least that would be the smart thing to do to get people to buy it. However if they could give us a taste of some of the things we ask for and if done right then expansion sales are almost guaranteed. I would go on but it smells like my daughter has a present for me in her diaper.
